If you are looking to host a large party and craving Argentinian food, Patagonia is the perfect place! We reserved a table for 15 friends to celebrate a special birthday on a Friday evening and it felt very spacious. There is a grand piano at the entrance (I really wished there was a pianist that evening), a TV at the full bar area, and clean restrooms. And my favorite look of the restaurant were the beautiful floating light bulbs. It totally set the vibes for a wonderful evening. For food, we decided to order Fried Calamari with Pink Sauce as an appetizer and though tasty, it was a rather smaller portion. For the entree, we ordered the Argentinian Mixed Grilled Meat Platter and there were two platter options: 2 people or 4 people. The 4-person platter was plentiful! It included a grilled combination of entraña, short ribs, chorizos, morcillas, salchicha parrillera, molleja, and chicken. There was so much variety and so much flavor. Would definitely order it again! My only feedback to improve on would be service. I believe all of our friends' orders came out correctly, however it was very slow. There were several times when we had to follow up on our drink or food orders. Besides that, I also have to say every server was very respectful and nice to me and our friends, so I really appreciated that! Can't wait to return and hopefully there will be live music!

Dessert time! Cappuccino, flan and their signature Argentinian alfajores.

Great food and top quality service. Definitely a great place to check out. They even had a piano player. Great ambience.

I recently visited here for the first time with a couple of friends to celebrate Houston Restaurant Weeks at lunchtime. Patagonia is located in an upscale strip center along the Katy Fwy. frontage road with plenty of parking available in front. Inside, it's a very nice restaurant with a bar and main dining room that has alcoves for small groups to dine with some privacy. We were seated at a booth and presented both their regular lunch menu along with the HRW menu which we ordered from. For my first course I chose the mango ceviche followed by the beef tips for the second course with the churros to finish for dessert. While waiting on the food I remarked how attractive the interior decor was and noticed that each table had its own bottle of hand sanitizer. I also observed the regular lunch menu and saw that it was quite extensive with many South American specialities along with the traditional Argentinian steak options. The ceviche arrived soon after ordering and was cold in temp along with some plantains on the side. This appetizer was slightly tart, fresh and delicious. It contained Chilean tilapia on top of red onions and mango with citrus lime juice sprinkled on all of it. I like good ceviche and this met my expectations. Later the entree appeared with two large beef medallions (8 oz. total) wrapped in bacon and covered with a bourbon cream sauce. That sauce was awesome and I loved it! The tenderloin pieces were tender and flavorful. The meat was accompanied by two mounds of whipped potatoes and grilled veggies. All of it was very good. Finally my churros with Dulce de Leche & Chocolate with a cherry to boot arrived. Both churros with that chocolate were rich and sweet in taste and made an excellent finish. This was a meal that I would be happy to order again. The table service here was prompt and professional and I want to return to Patagonia again and soon. Hopefully for dinner.

Neighborhood Grill and Cafe puts out tasty food and friendly service. We were warmly greeted as soon as we walked in Server was very friendly and gave us time to make selections. They brought water, bread and Chimichurri sauces to the table... delicious. Ordered from the HRW Menu, First Course - MANGO CEVICHE - the dish was flavorful but the plantain chips were soft. Second Course - 12 oz New York steak served with Rosemary roasted potatoes - I asked for medium rare, the steak was very tasty, the potatoes were crispy but I couldn't taste the rosemary. Third Course - CHURROS - crispy and yummy wish they gave basket of them. Overall, it was a nice meal.

This place is a gem! We were looking for a good place have early dinner and this popped up. We walked in right when they opened for dinner, hence the place was still pretty empty but it was packed by the time we finished. Our waiter was helped picked their most popular empanadas. We had spinach, beef, roquefort cheese, and chicken which were all delicious! They were very crisp on the outside, not too flaky and each fillings were tasty. Their Mandarin Almond Salad was also pretty good. The mixture of its citrus and sweetness with crunchiness of the nuts was perfect on every bite. And, of course, we had to try their Prime Mixed Parrilladas, all the meat were tender and cooked to our liking! lol

We were disappointed of our experience here. The food was meh and very expensive. I ordered the salmon and it wasnt good. My mom ordered the small parrillada plate and she didn't like it, and she loves meat and almost everything related to parilladas... will not be back

Hadn't been here in years - so glad I stopped by for lunch. While I was waiting for my order I asked waiter about Argentinan wines he had. He walked me thru three different displays around the bar and restaurant and explained background and which ones he liked. Too bad it was weekday lunch so I couldn't have any ... but I will be back.

Yeah don't go here. We went here for Mother's Day... it took forever for the food to come out, we waited over 45 minutes to get seated (despite making a reservation), and they were out of half the items on their menu... of course on Mothers Day places get crowded and fall behind. That's totally understandable. But the staff at this place could have been a lot nicer about it. They tried to seat my 11 year old sister at the bar and told my grandma to 'be careful with the piano.' My grandma had no where to stand and wasn't even touching the piano. The hostess was stuck up and rude and our server was honestly just annoying. Would not come to this place again, Mother's Day or not. Now for the food... VERY MEDIOCRE FOR $$$ I split the salmon with my boyfriend (about 40$) and the sweet potatoes (12$) I will attach pictures of both - my half salmon portion (I ordered well done but wasn't cooked thoroughly) and the sweet potatoes untouched (which had a hair in them) oh and last but not least the place smelled AWFUL

We live in SSV and had noticed Patagonia in the generic strip center in front of Home Depot when they opened a few years back, but never thought too much about it based on the location. We finally decided to visit Patagonia a few weeks back, so my review is a bit tardy. We arrived on a Friday night for a 7:00 PM reservation and was pleasantly surprised as we walked in an found an upscale environment for such an obscure building. There were about 4 other tables taken, while most of the dining room was vacant as well as the bar. We were greeted by our serve who seemed somewhat preoccupied, not sure why as it appeared he was only serving one other table. Having spent a couple of weeks in Argentina less than two years ago visiting wineries and vineyards we were excited order a bottle of Salentein Malbec ($62), as we had spent 4 nights on their vineyard properties during our stay in the Uco Valley. As a starter we order a trio of empanadas, one each of Spinach, mushrooms, red peppers & onions, Ham & cheese, and Roquefort cheese, onions & mozzarella ($3.50/$4.00). All were quite good with our malbec and great start to dinner. I was hoping for Argentinian Mixed Grill Meat Platter, but my wife didn't care for half of the items on the platter we decided against it. For our main courses, our server suggested the Entraña ($45), so my wife selected the 10 oz. portion medium rare, which came with a House Salad, but added the Potatoes Au-Gratin as a side. After cutting into the Entraña it was definitely over cooked, more on the well to medium well side; but she didn't want to make a scene and send it back after the server had been so nice and accommodating. The Potatoes Au-Gratin ($16) were more like a bowl of cheese with a few slices of potato swimming around, which many would have loved with so much cheese, but the lack of potato made the dish unwelcoming . Since she ordered the beef, I decided to order something different, and he suggested the Two Bone Pork Chop ($35). My Two Bone Pork Chop was cooked properly and tasted "good" but didn't come close to Perry's Famous Pork Chop, in flavor or size. I've learned any Pork Chop that isn't from Perry's will certainly disappoint. It was served with oven roasted potatoes that appeared to be reheat potatoes from the day before, dried out and hard crusted, not appetizing and certainly not tasty. In addition, the chop was served with a couple of slices of squash, a couple of carrot slices and some green beans; the veggies seemed to be fresh, so I ate them and left the potatoes. We both felt the pork chop was the better of the two entre The staff was very accommodating and service was on par. We were talking with some one who was either the chef or owner about this being our first and the Argentinian wines on the list and he was really friendly and acknowledgeable. He also sent out a couple of complimentary deserts, which was very kind and greatly appreciated. I felt the misses on the food was probably due to the COVID situation and not the norm, so we'll be visiting again once things get back to "normal", and expect things will meet expectations based on other Yelp reviews.

Something simple that should be an easy win. Unfortunately, everything leaned the same direction: either it was heavy, over-sauced, or overly garlicky. It tasted more like dressed-up frozen food than something thoughtfully prepared. And listen...I don't mind indulgent. But there still has to be balance and fresh food. Fresh like it was raw and delivered today, not fresh like fried in the last 15 mins. When everything is coated, covered, and competing, nothing actually stands out. The drinks didn't help either. They leaned hard on alcohol without much flavor behind them--more "this will get you there" than "this tastes good." Nothing was terrible. But nothing made me want another bite, either. And with seafood, that's kind of the whole point. The atmosphere is friendly, great music, and the service was very attentive. Even the presentation wasn't bad. It just wasn't enough. But at some point, you stop asking what's missing and just accept that it's not landing. I was still hungry so I went next door hoping for a better experience. I want to be clear: It's not bad. Unfortunately, this turned out to be one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had in quite some time. We had an 8:00 PM reservation but weren't seated until around 8:30 PM. While delays happen and I was willing to overlook that, the experience only went downhill from there. We ordered Palomas to kick off our Friday night. The drinks took quite a while to arrive, and when they did, they were noticeably watered down. I politely mentioned it to our server, who quickly took them back and brought replacements, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the second round was nearly identical to the first. When I brought it up again, instead of acknowledging the feedback, the server responded by saying it was "just not a sugary drink." That completely missed the point. I wasn't expecting a sweet cocktail--I was pointing out that the drinks tasted diluted and poorly made. What bothered me most wasn't the drinks themselves, but how the feedback was handled. I wasn't looking for free drinks or trying to be difficult. I was simply offering honest feedback, and it felt like my opinion was being dismissed rather than heard. Unfortunately, the food didn't redeem the experience. We ordered several dishes to get a good sense of the menu, and most were overwhelmingly salty. The salt overpowered any other flavors to the point that we couldn't finish some of the dishes. The sushi was the best thing we had, but even that lacked the presentation and quality I would expect at this price point. To be fair, the manager did remove the drinks from our bill as a courtesy, and I appreciate that gesture. However, by that point the damage had already been done. A resolution is only effective when guests feel heard and respected throughout the process. Instead, I felt like I had to defend my opinion and justify my feedback before anyone took it seriously. At the end of the day, a restaurant can be trendy, crowded, and beautifully designed, but none of that matters if the food and service don't deliver. Balboa Surf Club has the atmosphere and location, but in my experience it falls short where it matters most. Overall, I'm glad I finally tried it because I had always been curious, but now I know I won't be back and cannot recommend it. If you're looking for a similar concept, I'd recommend Hudson House. The atmosphere is comparable, but the drinks are consistently well-made, the food is much better, and the service has always been far superior.

The food was good. The seared Snapper and grilled mortadella were my favorite dishes of the evening. The chocolate cake was rich. I world recommend this for a wonderful date night. Great food. Lovely ambience. Knowledgeable staff.

Ambience on the patio was lovely. I'm sure inside is nice as well…read more Hate a valet only option, but I took a chance and parked in the lot next door and noticed a few others did too. At your own risk, I guess. Food was overall average- went with seafood options which were well cooked but nothing to write home about. The grouper has too many sweet elements which I was concerned about when ordering- would have liked some savoury bite in there. Also was disappointed they didn't pack up my leftovers (got lost in communication I guess). The crab cake entree- to me the reads appetizer, which is what we did. But honestly one of the best crab cakes I've had. Sturdy breading but so much flavour and balanced well with the veg/salad it sits on. The 7 layer chocolate cake was perfectly balanced dessert as well. Not too sweet and loved the crispy/crunchy bits.
