    Burrito prior to unboxing
    Daniel L.

I had no idea what the heckin' business a bull had reason for making burritos - in my mind this is not a logical pairing like the Bob's Big Boy which really just sells itself on multiple levels. I am not sure I have ever seen bullritos adverts. I have been sans TV round the homestead since golden age HBO so if it is later in time than The Wire and not available on mein netflix app I have no idea what is going on culturally. So it was not like a bangin' coupie (as usually predicts my lunch choices) or a really neat commercial on the teevee brought me in. For me it was simple maths - no line, and still open late in the lunchin' hours in the Park Shops. I am a fan of beer-ritas, you know those margs with the cerveza bottle just jammed up in there real good which usually only certain men end up in the hospital for when they try to replicate the beer-rita on themselves (on a dare, or the usual reasons why) with the bottle shoved up real well and good where the sun and socialism do not shine. So bullritos is close enough to the term beer-rita I was willing to give it a shot just on linguistic similarity, as I explained to that Boston cop that one time that it was a hookah in the boot of the Caddy and not a hooker. Also they were air conditioned inside in the Park Shops and it was too damn hot outside to walk a few blocks to the nearest Chipotle on the rail, so this was a tunnels and/or skybridge necessity situation like when it is raining and the suede shoes are on, but this was a heat advisory type situation where I can't take this delicate porcelain outside in the heat because it will give me the vapours and worse. This is really closer to a Freebirds than a Chipotle with the customisation options available. They replicate the Freebirds multiple tortilla options from spinach, cayenne, wheat, or whatev. Side note, while the Freebirds cayenne is bright red as the devil whispering into the ear of Robert Johnson at the crossroads along the way to Itta Bena, Mississippi, the Bullritos cayenne is muted brown like a shitty wheat. When I unwrapped the foil my first thought was it was the wrong dang tilla and my inner Napoleon Dynamite was about to come out and everyone the rest of the day was about get starting called Tina whether that was their Christian name or not. Upon biting in to this failure pile of sadness I just realised it was a lame rip off of cayenne and that is why it looked so off. Like sitting on the lap of Santa Claus thinkin' really hard about a Freebirds cayenne tilla (and me, the beautiful one sitting on his lap) I would really get a better sense of cayenne tilla via osmosis than this one that was actually in my mouth at the time. This tilla was a failure pile thinly wrapped around what would otherwise qualify as a burrito, but really should be reserved for prisoners so they understand that they done fucked up and cannot get Chipotle for another five to ten (or more) depending on skin colour. The sour cream dose was so small it was likely because I could tell it tasted exactly like the Dixie sour cream plastic tub from the supermarket rather than the divine Chipotle sour cream made from scratch with ingredients that god herself spit upon, which nearly all of my reviews of Chipotle locations will praise that sour cream beatimousity while I will hammer Chipotle for other things, like their history of e.coli food poisoning and whatnot, you know, guy stuff. The guacamole seems to only taste like a bucket of salt and not any of the usual things you expect from an avocado and colourful accompaniments. The queso was equally bland. Like at this point I was really starting to think this was just a shitty knockoff Chipotle/McDonalds had created on a night they were blackout drunk to ingeniously illustrate how much BETTER Chipotle is at literally everything burrito related after someone gets a whiff of what these idjits are slinging nearby. Largely, I would say Bullritos is very disappointing in the food department. Every aspect of the burrito was disappointing. The tortilla was rock hard in certain points and breaking off like shards - that do not happen at the Chipotle or the Freebirds. The guac, sour cream, and queso were all just as disappointing. Why two stars? The old lady ringing me up was very polite - she is awesome. She had no business being that nice to me, I did not deserve it. But still she threw it in like a cherry on top and I appreciate it, so she gets my two stars. Good customer service like that should be rewarded. The part about serving garbage/trash food, not. The burrito gets zero stars and may the good lord below have mercy on your burrito purveying soul in a town with a Chipotle a few blocks away walkin' distance when it is not 900 degrees out and a ~15 minute drive down 59 to the nearest Freebirds when you are with car. Maybe try liquoring up your burrito purchasing gents with a few free beer-ritas and you might get better reviews on your trash bombs known as bullritos.

This is a side of queso here? Half a serving? Meh

With my work location changing from the land of Russell Ybarra (La Porte) to downtown I figured I would give this location a try. 20 miles can't make that big of a difference, right? It was disappointing, starting with my side of queso. Half a container? I asked for sour cream and got some pink mix of sour cream and pepper, but didn't realize until I got back to my office. They also put hardly any cheese and I could see no lettuce to even choose from. I'll miss the original and dependably great bowls I could get in LaPorte, but I won't be funding this location.

Very similar to chipotle, but there are more choices. And you get a free ice cream cone with your meal. Definitely would recommend.

Upon walking in the restaurant was clean it was pretty packed for a Wednesday night but the aroma of the food! OMG! Our server was really nice and patient because my friend and I talked for about 30 minutes before we finally ordered our food. He has the beef enchiladas with rice and black beans. He cleaned his plate...literally not a grain of rice in sight! I had the smoked chicken verde enchiladas and WOW! What an amazing dish. I consider myself a Mexican food connoisseur especially being from California. I have always said Tex Mex?.....eeeeyuck! But Candente has changed my tune! I will definitely be back to visit when I return!

Glowing red. Burning. Candente…read more Let me start by saying that I'm not into Mexican food unless it's an auntie or grandma making it at their house. I prefer traditional homemade Mexican food but here we are. (Oh I googled and suggested this place lol) Went in for a team lunch on a Friday. Coworker's birthday lunch and she wanted Mexican. Party of 9 and we were seated promptly. They have a lunch menu and a happy hour as well as a full menu and full bar. The interior was nicely decorated. And open. There is bar seating and patio seating as well. Our waitress was Aisha and she was amazing. Friendly, helpful and patient. And able handle our large group and a few more tables with a smile. There were a variety of options. Salads, fajitas, nachos, enchiladas, etc. Also complimentary chips and salsa. My Order: chicken tortilla soup, lunch fajitas combo - chicken and beef. Chicken tortilla soup (3.5/5) - it was a bit salty for me but I am not a salt person so most things are salty to me; everyone else said it was tasty, there were tons of shredded chicken, avocado pieces, tortilla strips Fajitas - combo (4/5) - chicken was seasoned well and the beef (medium rare) was perfection and so tender and juicy, mexican rice was fluffy, and normally I would pass on the beans and get extra rice but my coworker suggested the charro beans and wow, that was a win - the seasoning was great, there were chunks of meat and the texture was nice, the only thing that could have been done better is the flour tortillas - they over-charred them making them too crispy and left them with a burnt taste. A couple of people got the elote salad and raved about it. So that will be a next time try. Def will be back. Everyone enjoyed their meals and some even ordered food to go. Would recommend.

Parking can be challenging on weekends, but there is complimentary valet and a few extra spots in a lot across the street. There's interior and exterior seating, with cozy booths and tables. Service is friendly. Chips and salsa: Superica has some of my favorite chips, crispy and thin and perfectly fried. The avocado crema salsa and warm serrano pepper salsas are delicious with a mild kick. The bottled red salsa is fresh and green salsa packs a nice punch. Migas: Scrambled eggs with tortilla chips and cheese, choice of chicken versus chorizo on top, finished with fresh avocado. I really enjoyed this combination and the generous portion for the price. The eggs are well scrambled without being dry, and the pairing with cheese is proportional. The chicken was a touch dry, but some salsa solved that well. I enjoyed stuffing each component into a fresh tortilla and devouring it as a breakfast taco. Refried beans and rice: Really delicious. The refried beans are of the smoother variety without as much chunkiness, which I prefer, and topped with creamy cheese. I could have used a touch more tomato in the rice, but overall enjoyed the texture and flavor. Patatas with salsa roja, topped with egg: I enjoyed the flavors in this dish, but there was sooo much salsa. The potatoes were thus a little soggy, though still cooked well. The over medium egg was cooked nicely and complemented the potatoes with creamy yolk. Bacon: Really generous portion for $7 as a side, and cooked well. Crispy potatoes: I enjoy that these are fingerling potatoes smashed and roasted, but they could be crispier. They seem to be on the blander side on purpose to allow seasoning to taste, and I really like pairing them with the red bottled salsa provided at each table (probably due to their association with ketchup). Hotcakes: The literal star of every brunch, these hotcakes are consistently delicious. They're massive yet somehow cooked perfectly through so that they're fluffy and soft on the inside and just with a slight crunch on the outside. The pairing of the creamy warm (!!!) maple syrup is heavenly. Because of how huge these are, usually one is enough to share between two people, although they also come in stacks of two and three. For reference, we finished 3/4 of three between four healthy and hungry people and it wasn't for lack of trying. Whenever I crave weekend brunch, Superica is always a top option.
