    Miso Soup.
    Steven M.

Sunday, I fell in love with 546 Yakitori & Donburi. This place is located in the beginning part of Niagara Falls Boulevard and one of the best places I've checked out lately. This place offers a ton of different options from Korean, to Chinese, to everything in between. The gentleman who served us was super friendly and the service was fantastic during our visit. Even though the decision was difficult, I decided to get a chicken and beef combo hibachi that was served with fried rice, noodles, veggies, and a miso soup as an appetizer. Miso Soup- the miso soup had so much flavour, absolutely fantastic! Fried rice- usually I say something about fried rice being fried rice but this was definitely better then most. Noodles- same as the rice, loved it! Veggies- I'm never a huge fan of veggies on the side, but when mix it with the sauces of the meats they taste pretty good! Chicken- MMMMMMMMMM, that's all I gotts day. Juicy little chunks of teriyaki chicken, some of the best I remember having! Steak- I don't want to say the same thing I did about the chicken, but it applies. The flavour kind of reminds me of Korean marinated steak and it was absolutely delicious, I need more if it! Overall, this place definitely deserves a 5 star rating for great service, amazing food, and being a real gem. This will definitely not be a one time visit!

3/28/2023 Menu cover with hours, address, and phone number. When I went they had no dine in and were take out only.

This restaurant has great reviews and I live nearby so it's a shame it took me this long to go try it. We ordered the chicken hibachi and the bulgogi. Both meals came with a miso soup and rice, the hibachi dinner also had some vegetables with it. All the sides were amazing, the soup was really good, the rice was sticky and delicious and the vegetables were cooked great. The bulgogi was super tender and will definitely be a staple of my future orders. Only complaint about the food was the hibachi chicken was pretty dry. If it had some sauce I think it would've masked it some, but I'm going to try other things on the menu before I give this a second chance. We also had the pork gyoza appetizer and it was one of the best I've ever had. I tried using its sauce on the hibachi chicken to help alleviate the dryness and it worked a little bit. I unfortunately didn't take pictures of the food, but I do have pictures of the menu so I will share that since all the ones on here are very old. This menu is current as of 3/28/2023. The restaurant has no dine in options currently, they are set up for take out and are quick to make your food. Also the cost of this place may have gone up over the years, but it's a great value for really good food!

Wow this place is so busy

Tori Spelling loves Yaks, in that sense you could say she's a very Yaky Tori. I had 546 reasons to love this place, but I ended up not loving it as much as I wanted to. I really wanted to love this place and I definitely liked it and the food is pretty good - if not spectacular. It tastes a lot like some of what you find on campus at UB North - which is a pretty high standard - and the prices are pretty good as well. Service is spectacular and the guy is one of the friendliest I've had serve me anywhere in Buffalo. I think the main problem was that I've been pretty spoiled by some of the amazing Asian things I've eaten recently - whereas if I had this 5 years ago it would have blown me away. Also I got sick after one of the times I ate here, but that doesn't really bother me too much. That passed quickly as most food-related stuff does. It may have been my fault for eating too much spicy gravy-type stuff. Highlights were bacon wrapped with Enoki Mushrooms, and the other Kabob type stuff. Surprisingly the low lights where the Chinese dishes like Mapo Tofu, which were good but didn't really blow me away like they do at some other places. I say surprisingly, because the owners are actually Chinese, not Japanese. The spicy chicken - which is known as Chongqing - did not have the numbing peppers and wasn't really spicy and I've had it better at other places but it wasn't bad. The eggplants were good but way too greasy. Katsu was pretty good, and the curry was nice. Didn't blow me away. If I come back I would probably stick with the kabobs but it won't be at go to regular place for me. They're not called kebabs by the way. They're called donburi I guess. And because of the spectacular service and being open much later than most places and definitely giving this place five stars although it is on the low end of the the 5 star spectrum.

My boyfriend and I ordered from here after his family suggested it. The ramen was beyond delicious! The other dish we got was not memorable (I unfortunately literally can't remember what it was), but this ramen is beyond craveable, and I would absolutely go back for that.

    Salmon hibachi grill! Very filling!

This place has delicious food, with a large portion and many options of meat. I had the salmon Hibachi grill and the chicken udon. The Hibachi grill was a really large portion and I was unable to finish! It came with rice and noodles as well as some veggies and other greens that had been mixed with sauces. The salmon itself could've been more saucey, towards the end, I felt like I was eating bland salmon. The chicken udon portion was probably half of 2/3 the size of the hibachi grill portion. The chicken udon was okay, it tasted like any other chicken with noodle dish. Never the less, it was still delicious and both were served with delicious miso soup! The prices are really affordable and I ordered pick up and the food was ready in less than 20 minutes. I would definitely come here again if I want some Japanese or Chinese food. tl;dr - affordable, hibachi grill has big portion and taste delicious.

My husband and I came here about 6 months ago after running some errands in the area. It was a weeknight (I think Tuesday?) and relatively early (6:30ish) so it was empty in there. In fact, it's more of a take-out and delivery joint because a lot of people came in and out but we were still the only dine-in table up until we left an hour later. We were starving and I wanted to try a little bit of everything, so we ordered a bunch of stuff. First, we decided to get some skewers (Yakitori). For those of you who may not know, Yakitori is a type of Japanese cuisine where they grill meats, seafood, veggies etc. on skewers. I've had them numerous times in Japan and let me just be clear - there is no authentic Yakitori anywhere in the Buffalo area. The closest thing you will get is Toronto, so please don't make up your mind about Yakitori solely based on your experience here if it's not a good one. We tried the enoki (type of mushroom) wrapped in bacon, asparagus wrapped in bacon, and the lamb. They were OK - we may order them again if we ever go back, but we would definitely not be going back for them. Next, we got a large order of the wonton soup - it was easily the highlight dish of the night. Thin wonton wrappers with a good amount of meat mixture inside - we would definitely go back just for that soup if we're ever in the area again. They actually had some chinese vegetables there so we ordered the water spinach to go with the rest of our food - it was good, but certainly nothing to write home about. I got the pork katsu curry which was very good. I don't remember it well enough to say that it's as good as the one from Sato (the one on Elmwood), but it was good enough that I would definitely order it again. The only minor complaint would be that perhaps there was not enough curry sauce. My husband ordered the sliced beef in chili oil and boy was it spicy. It's exactly what he was looking for though and he enjoyed it thoroughly. Just be mindful though that there are some not so great pieces of beef in there (as in pieces with tendons etc.) which I know most non-Asians are not used to. Lastly, we also decided to order the bacon fried rice which was pretty tasty - the rice is just the right level of firmness and the flavor was good (not too salty). The only complaint I had was the peas because I hate them, but that's really just a personal preference. We ended up taking almost half of every dish we ordered home and had leftovers for the next couple of days. I wish the restaurant wasn't so far from where we live (in the southtowns) so that we could eat there or get takeout all the time!

This place is amazing! I've been here a couple of times when I used to live closer. The quality pretty much has stayed the same! My fiancé and I came here after a Halloween party. It was the only Asian restaurant that was opened till midnight so that's a major plus. We started with the calamari appetizer. It was delicious and the calamari was golden and super crispy (just how I like it). I got the sesame chicken and my fiancé got some type of beef with vegetables on rice. Both were equally delicious. The portions were huge so I also have two more meals for tomorrow! Give this place a try. You wouldn't be disappointed.

It's a holiday so lucky for my fam the restaurant was not very busy. There was 2 set of couples and another customer dining besides us. We ordered the following to share between 3: - harumaki (spring rolls) - chicken yakitori - chicken fingers and lastly, as I was browsing the menu I saw... Unagi. Being a huge fan of the sitcom Friends I immediately thought of the Unagi episode. And as a tribute to my favorite show I ordered it .. even though I never had it before. I'm not a big sushi eater, I've had sashimi once and I "think" I've sushi with eel but can't remember the experience. Sooo this is absolutely crazy for me. But guess what? It wasn't so bad, in fact it was surprisingly good. It was not fishy and IMO tasted similar to the snapper Chinese people use for celebrations (without all the bones). Because it was so flavorful it was perfect served with just white rice and some broccoli. The Unagi is serve with miso soup which was good. The other dishes were also tasty, and everything was served hot. Our server was amazing - she was the only one working and she managed all the tables with efficiency while being pleasant. All in all this was a great meal, and I'm thankful my first Unagi experience was so good. Now I'm gonna watch the Unagi episode from Friends and LMBO! Side notes: - they don't serve sushi (yet) - also no desserts

Tried them for takeout lunch today. As of now, they are only open on Saturdays and Sundays. I had the shrimp tempura udon. Generous portion of udon noodles with just enough tasty broth. Small florets of broccoli, along with a few onions and shredded imitation crab and 3 tempura shrimp. Very filling. Hubby had chicken katsu curry -- breaded cutlet over rice with curry sauce, along with side of miso soup. After seeing size of my udon, he wished he had ordered that instead. Everything was good and reasonably priced.

I've always wanted to try this place out but never got the chance to. I always seem to pass this place though, so I knew exactly where it was when I left work one night and wanted Chinese food. I used Yelp though to make sure it was open. Currently it says they are open until midnight, but with it being already Eleven at night, I decided to call. The gentleman on the phone said they would be serving until 1130PM and asked about how far I would be traveling from. I let him know that I would possibly be 15 minutes away, I ended up getting there at 1120PM. The parking lot is spacious, the front door is on the opposite side of the lot. When I walked in, I was greeted by a young gentleman, sounded like the one who answered the phone. He was nice, let me sit wherever I wanted. There was one other person beside me in the restaurant - she was ordering takeout, then when it came out, she decided to eat some of it out of the bag. I'm just guessing her mouth was just watering for the delicious food! I ordered the Sao Zi Noodle, I wanted something different, and I was not disappointed! This soup was packed with flavor, loaded with potatoes, onions, scallions, carrots, mushrooms, marinated artichoke hearts, and endless amount of noodles, and chili oil was dashed in as well. Yum! It was the best soup I've had in a long time! I also ordered the Spicy Shrimp - note that they have their shell on them, so you will have to get your fingers messy! I'm not sure how they expect you not to make a mess. Definitely ask for extra napkins! It was very good, I ended up eating three and saving the rest for later.. You definitely get your money's worth, minus having to peel them each - I ate three, but had about 10+ still on my plate! White Rice was also served with this dish! I ended up ordering two things off the back of the menu. One was an Asparagus wrapped in Bacon, which was by far the most delicious appetizer I've had. I also ordered the Chicken Meatballs. For $4.95 I received 9 chicken meatballs! They were filling, and could be a meal on their own! Delicious. I cannot wait to get home and eat those leftovers! Just a note that I was freezing sitting in the dining room, I was the only one in there so I can see where that would be a factor, if I didn't feel the vent that was above me, blowing cold air onto me. Wear a jacket, or be prepared!

I never heard of this place before. I went onto skip the dishes and it came up first as the highest rated "skipped" places in my area. I clicked onto it and saw they had hibachi which I love. After seeing someone with hibachi to-go on Facebook recently from another place, I had been really craving it. The food came in a timely manner for skip the dishes, the courier arrived right on time, too. I was completely amazed with the presentation of the food, and for take out, that's almost unheard of! I got steak hibachi (with extra steak) which was only $13 and it came with BOTH fried rice and noodles, again almost unheard of without paying extra for it. I loved it. I also ordered the pork gyoza and fried shumai (never had that before). The gyoza was really good.

This place was good for being as tiny as it was. Seems really popular for take out. I got the sweet and sour chicken and got a ton of chicken for a good price. Not the best but good. The cheese wontons were good and if you dine in they serve water in cute little glasses for yourself to pour. Update: just had the sesame chicken. Much better than the sweet and sour. Super good.

This place is not what it seems in so many ways! Husband and I decided to check the place out because we read a lot of positive Yelp reviews, but when we initially drove up to the restaurant, we were hesitant to go in (it looked a little run down and empty from the outside). When we walked in, we were expecting a more hole-in-the-wall type place, but it was surprisingly cleaner and more organized than expected. There were some things that disturbed(?) me like the stains on the tablecloths and the dust on the sills. But overall cleanliness was not that bad. We ordered scallion pancakes as appetizers, a Chicken hibachi and Beef teriyaki. They start you off with miso soup, which comes in really big bowls! We were very surprised at the amount of miso soup they give you. The scallion pancakes were on the thicker side, and were a bit oily but pretty good. The portions of the Chicken hibachi and Beef teriyaki were pretty big for the price! The Chicken hibachi came with chow mein noodles and fried rice (and a side of veggies). The Beef teriyaki was cooked just right - almost a medium rare - and was very tender. The reason for the 4-star is the overall cleanliness and service (they weren't rude; just a bit unattentive). But for the food taste and portion, it was a win. Definitely a place we'll be coming back to!

It has a very, very small parking lot, which is pretty inconvenient. I had to park all the way down the street. We approached the restaurant and it looks so cute from outside with that big lucky cat. I don't know the names of these things so don't laugh at me, lol. We get inside. It's quite small inside. Also, they have a big cage that people can sit in only one though, and I wanted to sit in there, but it was already occupied by a family. The decorations are cute, but they don't have very many at least not on the side that we sat. We sat to the right when you walk in the door. The menus look like you're opening up a humongous encyclopedia or an almanac but there aren't that many pages in there so don't let it fool you. They have lots of different types of sushi, Japanese food, Chinese food, etc. My son got a salmon roll and a caterpillar which he said was amazing. I got General Tzo's chicken , which was much better than any Chinese place I've ever had it from. This was the real deal. But first I had pork eggroll and it was so good. They served it cut in half with duck sauce all over it and it was so good that way I loved it. Then I ordered a nice size bowl of pork lo mein. That was the best lo mein I have ever had in my life. It was absolutely delicious. My son tried some the next day and said that that was the best lo mein he's ever had. The employees were nice. Took a while for our food to come, but that was OK. We weren't in a rush. I ordered a Diet Coke and it seems that all Japanese and Chinese places that I go to lately they only give you cans of pop which seems weird to me, but whatever ! And this seems like a higher end type restaurant too. It's not a cheap little restaurant. This is a pretty pricey place, but like I said, it is delicious. I highly recommend going there and eating. Hopefully, you'll be as satisfied as my son and I were.

The food is pretty good, too, but the pictures and information aren't always accurate. For example, the salmon cheese roll includes avocado and tobiko according to both the picture and the description (so basically a Philly roll), but my order only came with the salmon and cream cheese. Fortunately I didn't get the food waste penalty. The appetizers are great. I had calimari, shrimp, and crab rangoon. The rolls are pretty good, too, apart from the aforementioned disappointment. The drinks are good, but I was disappointed plum wine wasn't on the menu even though one of the cocktails includes plum wine. I never did get a visit from the robocat. The flavors are good, portions are good (has per piece option for AYCE), and most dishes taste fresh and enjoyable. - this part deserves a 4-5 stars Unfortunately, the dine-in experience doesn't match the quality of the food. Presentation is often underwhelming and inconsistent. While the food tastes good, it is not always presented in an appealing way, which takes away from the overall dining experience. I'd rate the presentation closer to 2 stars. Service and execution can also be inconsistent. There have been multiple occasions where items were forgotten or missed entirely. While these issues may seem minor individually, they add up over time and affect the overall experience. I'd rate punctuality/ service at 2-3 stars Cleanliness: 3-4 Stars Another area that could use improvement is cleanliness. From my experience, the dining area is generally acceptable, but the restrooms are often not maintained to the same standard. On multiple visits, the bathrooms have appeared dirty, and the trash bins have frequently looked full or overdue for emptying. While it hasn't been bad enough to make me leave, it is noticeable and does affect my overall impression of the restaurant. Takeout: 1 Star for Timing, 5 Stars for Packaging Ironically, the presentation of takeout orders is consistently better than what I've received while dining in. The packaging is neat, organized, and the food generally arrives looking exactly as expected. For takeout presentation alone, I would give 5 stars. However, the timing of takeout orders is consistently disappointing. I've ordered takeout multiple times, and almost every time I've arrived at the scheduled pickup time, the order has not been ready. Delays of 30-40 minutes seem to be the norm rather than the exception. My most recent experience was particularly frustrating. I placed my order about an hour ahead and selected a 6:00 PM pickup time. When I arrived on time, I was told the order would require another 40+ minutes. When I asked why, I was informed that the kitchen doesn't begin preparing takeout orders until the scheduled pickup time. That explanation makes no sense to me. If a customer orders an hour in advance and selects a pickup time, the expectation is that the food will be ready around that time. Otherwise, the pickup time is really just the time the restaurant starts working on the order. Delays can happen, especially during busy periods, and I would be understanding if this were an occasional issue. Unfortunately, after multiple takeout orders, this appears to be a recurring pattern. The food quality is the reason I've continued coming back, but good food alone can only compensate for so much. Between the inconsistent dine-in presentation, missed items, cleanliness concerns, and repeated takeout delays, the overall experience falls short of what I would expect. There is definitely potential here, but the restaurant needs to improve its execution, attention to detail, and respect for customers' time. Would recommend going to the Niagara Falls, Ontario location instead.

This is one of our favorite low-key places. They have some superior authentic quality food, clean,…read morefriendly staff, and very reasonably priced items. They also have a large menu (some might complain its too large, lol). They have a variety of Thai, Japanese, Chinese, and other Asian dishes. They also have samosas, which was unexpected. I ordered the Spicy Chicken Curry Ramen, which was phenomenal. I also appreciated how the chicken was marinated and cut as they do in Japan. They also have the three major kinds of Ramen (Shoyu, Miso, and Tonkutsu). This place looks far from fancy, but its great to stop by for a nice authentic meal.

The critics rave: "Phenomenal!" "Succulent!" "Mmmmm!"…read more In this case, the critics were my husband and in laws. We came here because we wanted to try somewhere none of us had been before and everyone had a fantastic meal. The inside was larger than we expected and very clean. We were greeted by a friendly server and told we could sit anywhere we liked. We ordered soft shell crab bao and papaya salad for appetizers, both of which were crowd pleasers. Our entrees included chicken pad Thai, red curry duck, Massaman curry and tofu pad see ew. The portions were large enough for all off to have leftovers even after we had eaten our fill. I wish I had ordered the Massaman curry for myself, but I guess I'll just have to come back for more!
