This was our first visit to 56 Kitchen with our adult children and two grandchildren aged 12 and 9. We were very satisfied with our dining experience. The menu was quite varied and the food was excellent. I had a vegetarian stir fry which was tasty. It had a wide variety of veggies with an large portion. Quite tasty. The other adults had various salads that were well prepared. There was a children's menu although it wasn't printed on the menu. The service was excellent as well. Our server checked several times to see if anything was needed. The restaurant was dark and sparsely decorated, but clean and comfortable. We were impressed and will return.

A great choice made by my mom for her birthday dinner with the family! My brother and I had never been but we've heard great things about and 56 didn't disappoint!! With a gluten sensitivity, I love it when a menu and staff are well versed. The menu was clearly labeled. Our waiter was very attentive to our food allergies and sensitivities. The initial drink orders were places and then we had some time to look more at the menu and our choices were made. We must've arrived at a prime time because once we ordered, the restaurant really started filling up. The food came out pretty quickly, I'd say about 15-20 minutes. Wow, was it wonderful. I enjoy a simple dish like a burger done to the exact specifications I asked for with the dietary restrictions covered for those who need it. The two sandwiches were both enjoyed. My dad and brother ate half of their sandwiches and then gave the other half to the other and each liked the unique flavors from the toppings. And my birthday mom had to take home almost half of the kung pao cauliflower because she went to town on the crispy brussels. What a fun little place. Awesome staff. All other parties in the restaurant were all having a great time and their wait staff were really setting the tone. The hostess upon us leaving saw my mom had a to go order and asked what it was. Her and my mom got to talking and gave her recommendations for next time! So, long story short, we will be back. Lots more things to try!! Well done kitchen 56!!

Nice lunch spot in the middle of a strip mall in Solon. Definitely surprised by the size of the place. Service was good, but a little slow. But we weren't in any rush as we were just enjoying time in town. Food was done very well. Very tasty.. Loved the pretzel bagel.

It has been awhile since I have been here and I still love the atmosphere and ambiance of the restaurant. I'm not sure if I am a fan of the salmon protein dish with 2 sides. The salmon was good but the sauce was over powering and I'm not completely sure if the salmon was done. Service was good but started to get busy and it seemed like there was only one server during lunch time. If I come back I would try something else.

My husband dined here not long ago and weren't super impressed. I thought the salad and burger were both mediocre even though the burger looked very visually appealing. I also didn't like the atmosphere. It didn't have a cohesive feel. I'd say the best part of the experience was the friendliness of our server.

So she chose the Christmas lights of Chagrin Falls and "Odd Fellows Restaurant" which looks out on the Gazebo and all the lights of the square. We arrived at the restaurant and immediately were seated at a comfortable table in the center of the room by a very professional young woman. Very shortly after, the sweetest, most bubbly young lady greeted us and introduced herself as Bianca, our server for the evening. I can't say enough about Bianca. She was absolutely extraordinary. Friendly is an understatement. She had a beautiful smile that never left her face. She was so personable you could not help but feel comfortable in her care for the evening. Throughout the 2+ hours we were in her hands she just kept getting more impressive. If you decide to give "Odd Fellows" a try you would be doing yourself a great service by requesting her as your server for the evening when you make your reservation. Our initial order included refreshing drinks from the bar along with great crusty bread and excellent "Roasted red pepper soup". Very nicely done. We followed that with our entrees. I ordered the "Sesame Tuna" which was very nicely prepared. My wife and sister-in-law had the "Walleye" and they loved it. My brother enjoyed the "Shrimp Bucatini". I must say the kitchen did an exemplary job all evening... Kudos to the entire kitchen staff. We followed dinner with excellent coffee and very nicely presented desserts. A marvelous finish to a marvelous evening at "Odd Fellows". I give them my highest recommendation and encourage you to give them a try. Don't forget to request Bianca -- she is the cherry on top.

Started off with bread that came with a great garlic butter. Wish the bread had come out warm but it was good. I had a Caesar salad with shrimp for dinner which was great, filling but still light and the shrimp were fantastic, nice and big and very flavorful. We also ordered Brussels sprouts, fries and "onion rings" for the table. The Brussels were fantastic, probably my best bite of the night. I also really loved the fries, they had the perfect amount of salt which I always appreciate. The onions rings were very good, but I would call them more of onion straws so just be sure you know what you're getting if you grab those. Others at my table enjoyed the burger a lot, as well as the shrimp pasta. A lovely holiday experience overall!

An absolutely fantastic visit today…read more Our daughter is moving out of town, and for her "going-away" dinner she wanted one more visit to Cru. What a wonderful choice it turned out to be. From beginning to end, this was truly a remarkable dining experience. Every time we visit, it seems like both the food and the service continue to get even better. We had reserved a table on the outdoor patio and were seated promptly. We absolutely love the patio--its ambiance is second to none and, in our opinion, it's one of the best outdoor dining spaces in the city. This time, we decided to keep things light and ordered a selection of appetizers, a cheese board, and desserts. Since the menu changes four times a year, there's little point in listing every dish, as they'll likely be different by the time someone reads this review. A huge compliment goes to the entire kitchen staff. Every appetizer was beautifully prepared, and they even made a special zucchini blossom for our daughter, which was a wonderful surprise. A special thank you also goes to the pastry chef. The three desserts were outstanding, and the personal touch of writing "Good Luck in Chicago" in chocolate on one of the dessert plates made the evening even more memorable. We also want to recognize both sommeliers. During a previous visit, one of them had prepared an incredible house-made bar nut mix that we still talk about. We asked whether it was still available, and although he explained it was no longer on the menu, he went out of his way to prepare it for us on the spot. Our daughter absolutely loved it. Our second sommelier (whose name I unfortunately forgot) was equally wonderful. She took the time to recommend several excellent Pinot Grigios after my daughter asked for suggestions, and her knowledge and enthusiasm were greatly appreciated. Finally, a heartfelt thank you to our server, Julie, who provided warm, attentive, and professional service throughout the evening. She helped make an already special occasion even more enjoyable. As we were leaving, my daughter summed it up perfectly: "This was probably my favorite visit out of all the times we've been here." For a restaurant we've enjoyed many times over the years, that's about the highest compliment we could give. Thank you to everyone at Cru for making our daughter's farewell dinner so memorable. We wish you continued success and can't wait for our next visit.

We visited 17 River Grille for my mom's birthday (her suggestion, as she had previously been there…read morefor lunch), and it turned out to be an excellent choice. We had an amazing experience. Per our request, our party of six was seated on the outdoor patio overlooking the Chagrin River waterfall, which made for a beautiful setting. One thing to note: you cannot reserve patio seating in advance, but you can request it upon arrival if space is available. We started with four appetizers: *Heavenly Biscuits - AMAZING. *Short Rib Potstickers - Excellent. *Spinach Artichoke Dip - Excellent. *Grilled Artichoke - Good, but not really my style of dish. For entrées, we tried several different items: *Grilled Fish of the Day (Grouper) - Excellent, although the portion was on the smaller side. *Lake Erie Walleye Fish & Chips - Very good. *Thai Steak Noodle Salad - Excellent. *Steak and Frites - Excellent. We also ordered two sides: *Coleslaw - Very good. Is it the best coleslaw I've ever had? No. Is it excellent and worth ordering? Absolutely. *Roasted Baby Yukons - Excellent. Since we were celebrating a birthday, the restaurant graciously provided a complimentary dessert sundae. While the gesture was appreciated, I do wish guests were given a choice of dessert. The sundae was fine, but with several outstanding ice cream shops nearby, the ice cream itself was fairly average. Service was quick and efficient overall. There were a few minor areas for improvement: Wet naps would have been appreciated, as we had to request extra napkins multiple times throughout the meal. Service slowed down a bit during the dinner rush. The steak entrée arrived noticeably later than the rest of the main courses, which may have been due to the kitchen being overwhelmed. It also took a little longer than expected to receive extra plates when requested. These were relatively minor issues, however, and did not significantly detract from the evening. Overall, this was an excellent dining experience with great food, a beautiful patio overlooking the waterfall, and solid service. We would gladly return and would certainly recommend it for special occasions or a nice evening out.

Tonight my wife and I decided to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary at 17 River grill. Now I've…read morebeen there before no stranger to it but I felt there was some issues that needed to be addressed. Our reservation was for 7:30 we arrived about an hour early just because I really like being prompt. At first glance when you walk into place I reviewed the dress code. Apparently I'm the only one that reviewed the dress code. Baseball hats, t-shirts hoodies not the collared shirt casual business attire that was required on the website. We checked in for our appointment our only prerequisite is we really wanted to have something with the view for our anniversary. We waited in the bar and ordered some drinks while I pass the time with my lovely wife. There is a fruit fly issue that needs addressed. I could not help but notice for all the employees standing around they're certainly were a lot of tables that went un bussed. As you had people that wanted to be seated one could logically deduced that bussing the table with one way to do it. After a while I went back up to the server station to check on our status all three people at the service station were entrenched into their phones. Tick tock, Instagram doing anything but bussing tables and tending to the customers. I interrupted the ladies whom were supposed to be working to have them check on a table for me. Nothing was available yet but the table had to be cleaned off. Ironic because they could have put their damn phones down and cleaned the table. One of the biggest time wasters with employees and restaurants is that phone. There's a restaurant in Cleveland called Town Hall that once reported to work your phone gets locked up therefore you get locked in to your job. This place would benefit greatly by making their employees lock their phones up. We ended up getting a table on the patio downstairs and my wife nearly bit it on the dirty and greasy carpeting as we walked downstairs. It was gross and indefinite need of being cleaned. Overall everything seemed sticky and dirty windows made it feel unclean. We were seated at our table for about 12 minutes until we were approached by our server she was very nice but clearly she seemed a tad overworked I'm not sure how many other tables she had. I counted no more than four different servers and two busboys walking by this table that had a bunch of dirty glasses on it and nobody bothered to pick it up. My steak frites were the highlight of the evening my wife had the filet which was also amazing for her. We had finished our mail and our conversation and we're ready to go but unfortunately our server was MIA. I could see her through the windows she wasn't wasting time she was actually working she appeared to be one of the only ones working. She must have received my message and came out to bring us a box and the bill. I went into the into the restroom on my way out of the door and in the men's stall I couldn't help but notice the lock had been busted and you couldn't lock the door. Which was super awkward as I was using the restroom there was a fellow who opened the door and got an eyeful. Nice evening cap. As we traversed the slippery greasy steps to head back up and back out I couldn't help but think how far this place must have fallen. I was unable to spy any management as I kind of felt feedback was necessary at this point. I chuckled to myself as I passed the hostess station in the same hostess that seated us, that I had to have her get off her phone to seat us was still on her phone. Must have been a really good video. So to whomever the owner or manager of this establishment is do yourself a favor: eliminate phones. That's the only way to save this place. There's no excuse to leave glassware and dishes piling up on tables that could be used to seat folks that want to have an enjoyable dining experience. * Clean your establishment. * Eliminate phone usage. The lack of productivity did not go unnoticed. I was not the only customer whom noticed. * Repair broken restroom locks in the downstairs men's toilet * Address the fruit fly issue in the bar * Degrease the steps and carpeting before someone is injured * Make an attempt to enforce the dress code so you don't look like a chili's * MODs need to be visible. Management by presence is an effective way to enforce duties. It's a shame that a place with such a fantastic view is not a place I would go back to.
