I stumbled across this spot one evening looking for a new takeout/delivery spot around Newton/Waltham. It has been hard to find a takeout spot with satisfying food at a reasonable price outside the city of Boston. West Newton has an incredibly large menu, with something to satisfy every member of the family or group! The first thing you will notice besides the selection is the unbelievable pricing. At first, I won't lie. The shockingly low prices made me a bit apprehensive and nervous ordering the first time. However, they did not disappoint and it is our new go-to spot for pizza, subs, and italian American takeout. The menu is a bit overwhelming the first time you look at it. I suggest setting aside a good ten minutes to fully take in the selection. I absolutely love that they have something for everyone. It makes ordering for the family or a group considerably easier. The portions are generous, as are the prices. We have found that the full-size salads and the pasta dinners are plenty for two to share when paired with an appetizer or two. The prices and portions allow us to try a bit of everything they have to offer. They have a vast selection of starters and appetizers to start off your meal. I suggest the mozzarella sticks or the garlic bread with cheese! You'll also find a solid selection of chicken fingers/tenders and chicken wings, both plain and sauced. Their salads are probably my favorite category on the menu. And I say this as a person that typically doesn't consider salad a meal. That is not the case here! Their salads are absolutely massive. Crisp and fresh ingredients. The full-size salads are plenty for two to split paired with a hot pizza! Our favorite is the Greek salad with Chicken. The chicken was practically covering the entire salad. They do not skimp on you here! Chicken was incredibly tender and flavorful. Reminded me of Greek Chicken Kebabs. If you're looking for pizza, you will not be disappointed! They offer three styles of pizza: hand-tossed, thin, and Sicilian. Our go-to is their traditional pizza. The prices are extremely fair, around $10 for a Pepperoni 12" Small Pie. Additional toppings are around $1 each, which is more than reasonable. If you are feeling lazy or can't make up your mind, they do have a solid selection of gourmet/specialty pizzas to choose from! If you have a taste for a sub, wrap, or grinder, this is where they really shine in terms of selection. They have an unbelievable selection of hot subs, cold subs, wraps, and specialty "danger zone" subs. One of my favorites is their tried-and-true Italian cold sub. They offer the subs in two sizes and endless customization and topping options. I've never had any issues with accuracy when it comes to subs. If you've got a taste for some red sauce and meatballs, they've got you covered! They also offer Lasagna, Stuffed Shells, and several Gourmet/Specialty pasta dishes. Our favorite is the stuffed shells with a side order of meatballs! It is plenty for two to share and comes with included side salad and garlic bread. If you have a sweet tooth, I strongly suggest the Baklava. It appears to be homemade and was some of the best I have had in New England. A family member ordered the brownie, which was a bit disappointing as it was packaged. If you're looking for a spot with solid selection, portions, and prices you've got to try West Newton Pizza and Grill! My only wish was that they were open later on Friday/Saturday Nights!
