That may have been because of the buffet style food. Some foods like the hangar steak and beef sliders were good. But everything else like the veggies and fish and salad were meh.

Entering the restaurant there's an open air patio in the back with lovely greenery and lighting. The decor and service is lovely, but unfortunately the food hasn't improved too much since my last visit a few years ago. While sounding good on the menu, I felt the flavors were lacking especially at this price point. We were pretty happy with the raw items, the hamachi, oysters and scallops. The scallop crudo felt like it should have been served with some chips or some vessel... We were just scooping scallops, cucumber and avocado out with some forks. The pork belly came and was presented well, but the pork belly itself was quite bland. The skin is crispy, most of the flavors came from the pickled carrots and vegetables. The hanger steak was cooked well, but it was way too salty. It was paired with this orange dip with maybe gojuchang?, fried potatoes pieces, roasted turnip, dill and pickled onions...it didn't work and it just tasted like a salty 58$ mess. The crispy brussel sprouts were for sure crispy.. and there was a big bowl of it....but it was way too salty/acidic with no sweetness to balance it. We gave it a second chance since we loved the vibes, but we were quite disappointed again and will likely not be coming back....

There is a rear patio however I did not get to see how big that was as we got seated indoors. They have a bottomless mimosa for $33-35 with brunch menu such as a waffles, breakfast burritos and sandwiches etc. they also have their lunch / dinner menu. I ordered the mojito which was so good refreshing and not overwhelmingly sweet. We got the candied beats salad and the buffalo cauliflower both sooooo good!! The beat salad was served with raspberries, blueberries and blackberries wit fresh burrata - I had never had anything like it hands down my favorite! The califlower was crispy and amazing! For my main j got the chx and waffles omg the waffle with chx melts in your mouth. The chx was very tender and juicy. I was extremely full and only had 2 waffles and 1 piece of the chx- in my opening the serving size is big enough to share. Honestly, not sure why this place isn't packed but hope someone sees this and will stop by to try their food. There are maturing spots where it's all bout the vibes and champagne but here you get the quality of food that doesn't disappoint. The location seems out of place and a bit hard to notice. I believe there is a rear entrance where the patio is but we entered through pico. Server was amazing attentive and friendly. I'll definitely be back for dinner and brunch ofc.

I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich without the bread, devil eggs, and kale salad!! And OMG it was very good!! Even without the bread it was still on point!! The slaw was very tasty and yummy!! Kale salad with the peanuts was perfect! For my drink it ordered the Turnball Cabernet red wine that was suggested by Dylan and it was very good for my palette. The service was great! Dylan was our sever and he was very nice! And personable and easy going. Our order was not incorrect and it came out fresh and hot. But of course that's nothing new with Hillstone restaurants, they are all phenomenal!!! It's also located next to their sister restaurant South of Beverly. The Honor Wine is right next to it as well. It's dark and gives semi-upscale vibes! It's not that spacious since it's a bar so it's usually a long wait. I recommend coming early or trying to do reservations. This place is good for date night or a drink after work. I will return when I can!! I was not disappointed with my experience or food!! They have street parking and valet for $20! -Marshay D.

The food is your typical bar food, consisting of burgers, wings and salads, nothing special. We ordered: "Southwest Chicken Caesar salad". Ordering is a breeze with the QR code system, and we lucked out by arriving during happy hour (Monday-Friday, 2-6 PM). Great deals on both food and drinks made it even better. I had the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger with a wagyu patty and a soft, fluffy bun. At first, I missed the usual lettuce and tomato, but honestly ended up loving it just the way it came--I'd definitely order it again, especially at just $10. The happy hour fries were a standout too: crispy, well-seasoned, and a solid value. They've also got solid pizzas, a good beer lineup, and a surprisingly nice wine list. Whether you're in the mood for burgers, pizza, or just drinks with friends, this place hits the mark.

Today, after a morning of shopping, I decided to have lunch at the Nordstrom Café in Century City…read more I usually dine at the Grove location, where I've always had pleasant experiences, so I expected a similar level of service. I initially sat at the bar, but despite being there for several minutes, I wasn't greeted or acknowledged by the bartender. I understand that staff can be busy, and I wasn't expecting immediate service. However, a simple, "I'll be with you shortly," or even a quick acknowledgment would have been appreciated. Instead, I was completely ignored. Thinking perhaps the bartender was only responsible for preparing drinks and not taking orders, I got up and went to the hostess stand. The host was kind, promptly seated me, and was seated in a booth. Moments later, I watched two Caucasian women sit down at the bar. They were immediately greeted, given menus, and attended to without delay. Seeing that stark difference in how we were treated was incredibly disappointing. At that point, I no longer felt welcome. I felt embarrassed, overlooked, and, unfortunately, discriminated against. Rather than continue waiting in an environment where I didn't feel valued, I chose to leave. I believe every guest deserves to be acknowledged and treated with the same courtesy and respect, regardless of their race. As an African American woman, it was difficult not to notice the contrast between how I was treated and how the next guests were welcomed. I chose to spend my money elsewhere, where I felt my business would be appreciated. I sincerely hope management takes the time to address this, because every customer deserves fair and respectful service. I will never in my life spend money at this location again.
