First time here and I would go back to try more items on the menu! It's such a cute space in the inside with a patio area for seating. Loved the giant wall mirrors and artwork. The service was pretty well overall everyone that came to our table was pleasant. Our server was Parker and overall she was great, could sense mood shift when we had some questions w our order delay & salad . Our entrees took a bit to come out because of my salad remake. The drinks we ordered were good as well. Kudos to bartender. I'm going to dive right in: duck wings were realllyyyy good no complaints at all!! One of the favorites. Nice sweet sauce. Florida rock shrimp was my fav. Reminds you of a nice shrimp scampi minus the lemon, more garlicky. The bread was good with the sauce. My top fav. Short rib was very tender and good. The asparagus was cooked well too perfect crunch and grill taste. Not a fan of dates but it does add a sweetness if you like. Also came with family style mashed potatoes and they were very good as well. We also order the green beans , heavy lemon profile. zucchini fritters surprised me. Not in a bad way, I wasn't expecting a ball so the zucchini was like chopped up inside w/ another mixed. No much described on the menu. sausage cheddar biscuits were pretty over powering with the sausage , I enjoyed the sauce on the plate with it. High pork flavor, biscuits were soft & moist. chopped salad was very copped. It had peppers, radish, mushrooms , cucumbers & cheese and a lot of the chopped items are not listed on the menu, had to send back for a less chopped. I felt it was more chopped items than lettuce. The new salad was great & presentation is nice on how it comes out. Lettuce also wasn't the freshest but it was fine.
5th & Taylor is one of the top restaurants in Germantown. This visit was getting some food before visiting bars on 6th Ave. This is an upscale atmosphere with an open concept. There is a nice, long bar down the right side. They also apparently havea private room larger parties can book. I have not been in there. Service was impecable. Asked for suggestions of things I had not tried and she recommended the bacon wrapped quail and the beef tartare. Honestly one of the best tartares I have ever had and currently my favorite in Nashville. The quail was also esquisite. Kudos on both counts. I will definitely get a chance to return here at some point.
We came here one evening for dinner during our trip through Nashville. We had a big surprise. Walking in from the plain exterior to the exuberant interior was a shock to the system. It's kind of industrial warehouse, it's kind of greenhouse, it's kind of British Museum, it's a lot of things all at once, but above all it was very chic and cozy. I felt relaxed and at home. The service was excellent, too. We had a server that was beyond friendly. A local musician, they all are in Nashville, she was kind, friendly, very knowledgeable about the menu, and made good recommendations for us. And the food all came out nice and timely. As for the food, it was the best part. We ordered way too much, because it all sounded so good. We started off with the sausage cheddar biscuits. Served with an apple jam, four sliders filled with sausage and sharp cheddar. It was pull-apart style, a lot of fun, and every component was packed with flavor. We then moved on to the dish of the night, the duck wings / spiced honey. Ummm, just look at those things. Tender, crispy duck wings, tasted so good, so unctuous. And they're also swimming in a spiced honey for dipping or drizzling. I was shocked. I could have just eaten a dozen of these and be happy. For my entree, I got the prime beef ny strip (served with grilled onion, herb butter, and family-style mashed potatoes). This thing was cooked to a perfect medium rare. A nice char on the outside, perfect seasoning, just an A+ dish. These people know how to do steak. I also got to try the short rib / delicata squash, baby turnip, date compote. Dude. Melt in your mouth, falling apart off the fork, very tender and delicious. Loved the unique accompaniments. The earthy sweetness from the compote went well with the short rib, and the squash was a unique squash, which made the plate very pleasing to the eye. We ended the meal with a bang, too, the fried apple pie / miso caramel, vanilla bourbon ice cream. This is a very good dessert! The hot dessert with the cold ice cream, the bubble caramel, the crispy pie dough, the ooey gooey apple pie filling, it was just luxury. The touch of bourbon adds another level, and the miso does, too. Don't fear the miso. You don't taste it. It just added a layer of umami. So good. Overall, this was wow, one of those restaurants that makes me rethink all other five star ratings I've ever given. I wanna give this place six stars. I promise you, if I ever come to Nashville again, I will come back here.
Went to 5th & Taylor to celebrate a friend's birthday. It was okay and definitely felt like a nice treat meal. Everything came out looking beautiful, it actually tasted good too. We had the qual as starters it was good flavorful nice sweet and salty balance. My gf and I ordered the roasted beet dish was also really good and had a nice mix of flavors and texture with the onions, pecans, and goat cheese. This is something we don't often see on a menu. For entrees, the meat dishes were the stars. The short rib was tender, rich, and super comforting.m. The mac and cheese was creamy, cheesy, and one of my favorite things on the table. The mashed potatoes were gooey almost like glue it went perfect with everything else. I'm not sure if I recommend it. This is the only item on the menu you can get unlimited. I do wish they allow you to select a different sides instead the whole table shared the mash potatoes. The whole place has an upscale feel without feeling too formal, so it still felt comfortable. The hostess were friendly and greats you as you walk in. Our server was just okay she didn't really check in on us much we had to get her attention multiple times to get drink refills. Overall, I thought it was an okay spot for a nice dinner in Nashville, I'm not sure what the hype was about. Ps if it's your birthday you do get a dessert but it's not free.
Pros: Wow, ambiance was so cool. It was simultaneously like being inside of a giant warehouse and being in a nightclub built for affluent vampires. I can't explain why, but it's true. Service was really cool. Our server was just the coolest chick. Very friendly, and very knowledgeable about the menu. She helped us pick a good meal. And the food, also wow. Everything was cooked so well, was packed with so much flavor, and the dessert was one of the best I've ever had. Cons: Absolutely none. Tips: If you want the best night, you have to order the duck wings, and you have to get the fried apple pie for dessert.
We had a pretty good experience at 5th and Taylor. This restaurant has pretty mixed reviews from various of people. The drinks were good, food was pretty decent but mostly I liked the decor. I think a lot of people do come here for that ambiance. The bartender was very accommodating. Definitely want to come back again.
You just can't go wrong sitting at the bar at 5th and Taylor. We were able to snag bar seats on NYE around 8 pm. It was the 3rd stop on our pub crawl. We shared the meatloaf sandwich which is EPIC! With the mashed potatoes, it's so much food! It would be a fun appetizer for 4 people. It's pretty rich and filling, so just a few bites is plenty. Such a great vibe here!
We came here for a family dinner for 6 on a Tuesday night. They have a small parking area but we found easy street parking (at least on a weekday). We had reservations at 6pm & were sat immediately. Staff was friendly & attentive the whole night. The quality of the food was good. Exactly what I'd expect for a more casual upscale restaurant. We ordered the bacon wrapped quail, tomato pie, shishito peppers, halibut, scallops, ny strip, grasshopper pie, brown butter chocolate torte, & ice cream. Entrees are served with a shareable side of mashed potatoes which were really good. One note is the food took quite a long time from the time of ordering to get it on the table. We waited 30-45 minutes. Even the desserts took 15-20 mins to come out.. Overall, it was a good experience. Recommend for a more upscale date night if you want a nicer ambience with a safe American-based menu. Just make sure you have the evening to wait.
Had been wanting to try this for awhile and it was well worth the wait! Everything we had was absolutely delicious. Special shout out to the Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and the beer can chicken. We ordered like 12 things and each item was incredible. They also were incredibly quick to fill my water which is a game changer for me LOL. Gorgeous spot!
Great dinner here tonight with coworkers. We each started with a few cocktails and then decided to split some appetizers. While I skipped the tomato pie, my coworkers said it was delicious. I thought the zucchini fritters, sausage cheddar biscuits, and apple jam and cheddar biscuits were all amazing. Even though I was tempted by the halibut, I tried the mixed grill instead. While the pork tenderloin and lamb sausage were both delicious, the tri-tip was a little tough. One friend got the tri tip and loved it, while two others got the fried chicken, and both agreed it was wonderful. For dessert. I had the brown butter chocolate tort, which was amazing, while one other got the pear sorbet, and another tried the strawberry shortcake. All desserts were wonderful. The mushrooms and brussel sprouts were wonderful. My coworkers said the beets were delicious as well. Service by Eric was prompt, attentive, and friendly. He also gave helpful recommendations, which were most welcome. Great spot!
Another great foodie restaurant during my visit to Nashville and another Yelp find. I highly recommend reservations until you're okay with snagging a stool at the bar, otherwise plan ahead. The ambiance is a bit dark offering an open concept floor plan equipped with an open kitchen which is my personal fave. The service was top notch. We were suggested personal menu favorites along with guest favorites providing us with pretty good direction on what to order. The duck wings to start are a must order. Holy flavorful and plenty to go around to share. Another must order to start is the cheddar biscuits. Sounds so simple but there was nothing simple about these. Another table favorite. All the steak entrees were cooked to perfection as recommended by the chef and the scallops were another favorite. There isn't anything I would change regarding our experience dining at 5th & Taylor. Highly recommend if you're in the area. And if you're not, make a point to. Well worth the splurge.
We made a reservation for dinner here on a Saturday evening in January for 8:15pm through Resy. We were visiting from California and were worried it was going to be hard to find reservations. We were greeted by friendly staff and our table wasn't ready yet but it was bustling inside and at the bar, nice vibe and a pretty hip spot for American food. We got a bunch of different cocktails, I really liked the old fashioned and my friends got fruity and tequila cocktails. We started with the wedged salad that had a really nice presentation. The sausage and cheddar biscuits, raw hamachi that came with Plaintain chips, and duck legs. All a lot for a group of 4. For our main entrees we got the grilled Mahi mahi, short rib, wagyu/Delmonico steak. And we got some extra sides-- mashed potatoes, mushrooms, and creamed spinach. Service was great and we got the fried apple pie for dessert and had a surprise birthday which was ice cream! Such a nice vibe and great meal! There's street parking surrounding the restaurant and it looks like it can get busy.

Excellent dinner here and would totally come back again. This spot had the vibes, the welcoming and large bar area (if you don't have a reservation) and serves up some killer food and drinks. Sat down at the bar on a Saturday night and had a few cocktails as well as dinner. It is a great atmosphere to catch up with friends, a date, or even dine solo at the bar. We started with the beef tartare and the bacon wrapped quail. Both were delicious and tasty bites. Enjoyed the beef tartare a bit more and it's well portioned. Then we got the mushrooms (delish steak house kind) and the short rib. Short rib was super tender, flavorful, and one I'd highly recommend getting. For drinks try the choose your own adventure for an interesting flavor combo of pineapple and cinnamon- it's not too sweet and feels like a beach drink! It's a great time here- would definitely come back next time I'm in town. read more

Super unique menu from cocktails to entrées. Amazing service by Gigi for our group of 12 during CMA fest. I think everyone could definitely find something they enjoy here. I came here last night for a bachelorette dinner. We got our own table in a nice, private back room. I ordered their 'Cucumber Gimlet' as my drink and it was delicious. I ended up ordering two it was so good. It was light and refreshing. For appetizers, the table shared the chicken skin and sausage biscuits. They were absolutely amazing. I liked the chicken biscuit the best, it had so much flavor. The biscuits were the right consistency and they melted in your mouth. For entrees, I split appetizers with a friend. We ordered their zucchini fritters, duck wings, and Mac 'n cheese. All were delicious. The duck wings were perfectly crispy and had a nice smokiness flavor. The zucchini fritters were good, I loved the dipping sauce that came with it. The mac 'n cheese was so good. It had a perfect crispy topping and was nice and cheesy. This is certainly a nice spot for a nice dinner. The portions are large so come hungry! If I lived in Nashville I would eat frequent this place. All their menu items look delicious. read more

A gentleman recommended the bread roll, it wasn't anything special. The wedge salad was grilled which made the lettuce difficult to cut, not a fan. My friend enjoyed her Chopped Salad. Star of the show, Beef Cheek Pot Roast was amazing and the mashed potatoes are the softest I've ever had. My friend enjoyed the Wagyu steak, beautifully prepared. Another friend had the fried chicken, it was just okay, not as amazing as the Beef Cheek or Wagyu steak Ambiance was very nice, loved the vibe and our waitress was well informed of the menu. read more

What a great space! Super high ceilings and open layout, yet soft and cozy. Everything comes together here really well with the setting, food, and service. The food is plated really lovely. Beef tartare appetizer comes with unique set up for the egg yolk, sadly not pictured as we dove right in. For dinner, the scallops were a standout. The mahi mahi was a little flat on flavor, likely for the tomato gravy to pick up, but not bad overall. The mashed potatoes that came with the entrees were LOADED with flavor. 11/19/23: Another delicious Nashville meal. Decor chic yet cosy comfortable. Had a very warm and inviting atmosphere. Staff supper sweet and engaging. Knowledgeable of the menu and great recommendations. Appetizers Bacon wrapped quail.. it was an interesting taste I liked it not sure I would order again. Main Scallops: so fresh and tender cooked to perfection melts in your mouth. Mashed potatoes: not sure what Nashville is doing but every mashed I had was the absolute creamiest and flavorful. Small plates and service are both truly phenomenal but taking a star off for the entrees. The must orders are the sweet glazed duck wings, smooth butternut squash soup with shrimp, crispy and salty bacon wrapped quail and fluffy jalepeno cornbread with butter. The mac n cheese side order was also quite good and had a crispy topping. The fried chicken entree is a huge serving size and comes with a side of liquid-y mashed potatoes. While the crust is thick and crispy, the chicken pieces are way too large and the inside just tasted bland. I ended up just eating the well seasoned crust on mine. The fish of the day was good - much better than the slightly burnt tasting spaghetti squash. read more

My partner and I have made this our anniversary spot. We had our first real date here and every visit since has been equally as magical. We love to share the pot roast with the mashed potatoes...it's heaven on and plate and in a bowl. Perfect to share. The biscuits and apple jam are insanely delicious. 5th and Taylor is a perfect blend of sophistication and southern charm. We celebrated my fiancé's and another friend's birthday at 5th and Taylor. We had about 12 people there and this place made it really easy to make a reservation for a large group. Most places in Nashville require a private party contract. We tried a few items: biscuits - good but very rich Quail - delicious! Short ribs - yum I don't remember the dessert I got but I know it was good. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed 5th and Taylor! We will definitely be back! read more

From the moment you set foot in the door, you are swept into an environment of peace and relaxation. From the lighting to the decor, the vibe is welcoming and a nice change of pace if you're a tourist looking to get away from the crazy, like we were. The hostess and our server were very sweet and welcoming. There is a quality about the staff that is soothing and calm, encouraging you to stay and savor your time at 5th and Taylor. I didn't see the dinner rolls on the menu, but had read about them online, so I asked. Apparently they were running low, so they were only available on request. Note -- these are not free. But they were AMAZING!! Huge portions and so yummy!! We shared the wedge salad. I'm not sure I loved the charred lettuce, but it was easy enough to eat around. The homemade bleu cheese dressing was scrumptious! We shared the mixed grill (pork tenderloin, tri-tip and lamb sausage). We'd give it a 6/10. The pork was average, the tri-tip was tough and the lamb sausage just wasn't my favorite. The mashed potatoes were a 10/10. So creamy and flavorful... a definite MUST. I was excited to try the brussel sprouts. While the flavor was good, they were mushy and the texture made me want to gag!! The apple pie dessert was also a win. I'm so glad we ordered it!! It's literally the only thing we finished and I wanted to lick the plate when I was done!! Long story, short -- I'd go back again, but I'd definitely try some different options. The food and drinks were amazing per usual which is why I picked this location for my birthday dinner. As my friends got there before (and I NOTED on the reservation) it was for a birthday. They were told by the waiter he'd bring out a candle/cake at the end of the night. Because we DIDN'T get dessert since I brought cupcakes for everyone but the birthday girl, the waiter did not do anything for the birthday and then add his two cents to my friend we should be lucky he didn't charge us for the cupcakes I brought. This put a really sour mood on the night that he would act this way. There was nothing for the birthday girl to blow out and his rudeness. I honestly probably won't be back for a while. read more
I've visited 5th & Taylor twice now on work trips and let me tell you, this place is GOOOOOOOD. The last time I dined, we had a party of 10 and our server was ON POINT. We were never wanting for drinks or food - and trust me, we ordered a LOT of it. The atmosphere is different than a lot of other places I've been - very classy and upscale without being stuffy. It seems that the other Yelpers have the same opinion and I appreciate that very much! The food is amazing. We had all kinds of appetizers and small plates and also enjoyed some entrees. Everything came out timely, hot/cold as it should, and extremely flavorful. Cocktails and wine were also amazing and we enjoyed every single sip. I will definitely be back again! Cheers! read more

It's been a while where I needed the half star option as this place is a 4.5 for sure. Tucked away from downtown Nashville is this neighborhood gem. Definitely a hot spot for parties and lively atmosphere. Service from PJ was top notch. We basically took all of his recommendations. Chicken skin sliders I wish were bigger cause they were quite tasty. The lamb and ribeye cuts were cooked to perfection. The mac n cheese and the mushrooms were some of the best in Nashville. Also got some mashed potatoes which were also delicious. Dessert was fried apple pie which literally came out so hot we had to wait to enjoy but once we did, it was real good. read more

The service was amazing, our server was very attentive and super friendly, actually everyone there was. The food was really good. I was not a huge fan of the lamb sausage but everything else was amazing, especially the mashed potatoes. I order a ginger? I hardly know her and it was AMAZING! Their playlist was so good! I was quite literally singing along to every song. My first time going to a place with dimmed lights, it was a big shock but I liked it. read more

An incredible experience - from the gorgeous indoor atmosphere to the relaxed outdoor space, you can't go wrong with any seat in the house. But the food - you're gonna be looking at typical high-end steakhouse pricing but that's the only thing typical! The pairings are unique and all delightful. I loved the grilled greens salad with a creamy peanut vinaigrette, perfectly cooked ribeye, and local strawberry rhubarb shortcake to top off my very full belly. Would absolutely return!! Especially in the spring and summer, their outdoor space is to die for. read more

This place is such a hit! The atmosphere was so open, and relaxing, with upscale casual vibes. I had the cucumber gimlet cocktail which was 10/10, the bacon wrapped quail which was 10/10, and the grilled lamb loin which was 10/10. We ordered mushrooms, mashed potatoes, and broccolini for sides all of which were great but I'd rate the side 8/10. Our server was probably the biggest downfall, once our food was delivered he checked on us and I ordered another cocktail, but he didn't return until we were both done eating. We probably would have ordered dessert, and I would have drank my second cocktail had that not happened. Overall, I'd rate this place 8/10. Better service would have been 10/10. read more

Absolutely fantastic! Save this place for a celebration or special visitor because the bill will add up quickly. We got the sausage cheddar biscuits to start with and YUM. I could have those every day for breakfast truly. I got short rib, which I've never actually ordered at a restaurant but I was very impressed. Falls apart nicely. The date on top added sweetness. The mashed potatoes were unlike any I've had before - sweet, more puréed than mashed, but delicious. Worked very well with my meal. My grandma's filet was incredible. Perfectly done, so delicious. We topped over the meal with their peanut butter chocolate mousse and it was delicious. Would have that every day if possible. Service was great. Easy, no fuss seating with a reservation. Beautiful location. Sad we sat outdoors versus the gorgeous inside but worth a walk to the bathroom to take it in. read more

Everything tasted so delicious. We had a hard time choosing what to start with, because we wanted to try it all. The dill dip with the fritters was to die for, and the acidity to accompaniments of the tuna balanced so nicely. As far as sides go, the mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese were some of the better ones I've had. The fish was cooked perfectly as well. Our server was very friendly and even more attentive. The inside was chic and cute, plants everywhere which I loved. We will be back!! read more
