618 is a fun spot and I enjoyed the decor. Their cocktails are good with a creative twist but some could say that they are expensive for the amount of liquid in the glass. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the off balance cocktail and decided to buy the to go cocktails. The to go cocktails are self explanatory as they make the cocktails and put them in a glass bottle in a box so you can take it home. The food was good as I enjoyed the truffle spuds and the watermelon salad as an appetizer. I enjoyed the refreshing nature of the watermelon salad and the feta played well with the watermelon. However, the feta at times started to overpower the dish because it was a little too much feta for me. The main course I tried was the halibut which was good as it had a nice balance although the rice (or something I couldn't figure it out) was randomly too salty at times. For entrees - I got the Malfadine Cacio Pepe (I considered butter noddles). My girl got the halibut which she enjoyed. Based off recommendations we ended with a pistachio martini. Appetizers were good. Entrees were hit or miss. I had a Berkshire pork chop that was a little tough and needed more seasoning. A decaf cappuccino for dessert was weak. Fancy drinks at fancy prices. We had to wait more than twenty minutes for our table even though we had reservations. Very pretty decor but g-d is it LOUD. Don't go to 618 if you're on a first date - you'll spend the whole time yelling to each other. Tables are close together and they play music on top of the loud voices which is a bad idea. read more

Absolutely beautiful restaurant. We have been looking forward to our reservation here as we have heard many good things from different friends. We had to park across the street because there was no parking left in their lot. We walked in and was greeted by the hostess. She said it would be a few minutes before our table was ready. We waited by the bar which is beautiful. Definitely would like to come here and have a meal at the bar sometime. The whole place is beautifully decorated with lights and modern crystal chandeliers. Our server came over with water and went over the menus with us. They seem to have daily specials along with their regular menu and a wine list. Their cocktail list has some very interesting drinks. My friend got the Matt's Old Fashion, which they smoke tableside. He said it was the best old fashion he has ever had. My other friend had the lychee martini. It was very good. For my first drink I had the white cosmo which was very good. We ordered the Baby Artichokes to start but I didn't try them. My friends though said they were very good with the broth and mushrooms and croutons. We waited a while for our entrees to come out, but definitely worth the wait. For our entrees we got the Cowboy Steak which was one of the specials, the branzino and I got the halibut. I tried a piece of the steak...omg, it just melted in your mouth and whatever sauce was on it was amazing. My friends branzino was very good, very tender and buttery. My halibut was very good. The jasmine rice it was over had a great flavor to it. The halibut literally melted in your mouth. We had another round of drinks and this time I got the libra. This was the drink that they add a big bubble to the top of the drink, which they called it a flavor blaster, and then you pop it and it smokes. It was good, but a little more heavy on the ginger flavor than I would have liked. But still tasty. We were absolutely stuffed from dinner, that we had no room for dessert, but all the desserts looked so good. There were many birthdays that night and they bring out the desserts with the big sparklers. It was a lot of fun, and would definitely check this place out again. read more

We came to this establishment to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary, and they did not disappoint. We used open table for a reservation which I would highly recommend doing . Upon arriving it may seem like there is not a lot of parking but there is a lot in the back as well as a sign that offers parking in the adjacent lot. Walking from the car it does not seem like much but as you walk down their beautiful decorated hallway with flowers it is breathtaking, stepping in the restaurant you are immediately greeted by the hosted and there is a bar for you to wait if you like. They also have a candle line at the door arrival for purchase. We were seated in the back section of dining of the restaurant. Given the menu and special menu. Waiter read all the specials and went over their signature drinks. I was not going to have a drink but how do you turn that down when they say they are know for their drink menu. With that you just try. This was an overall lovely evening in a beautiful atmosphere. read more

618 was a really nice experience - it was my first time! We celebrated a special birthday - and needed a great "centrally located" restaurant. I came from Westfield, others from Manasquan/BayHead. Our meal was delicious, and our lovely server could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Overall, it was a nice experience. HOWEVER, after spending almost $200 each for dinner - I was accused, by either a Manager or a Hostess, - of stealing a $25 Pistachio Martini Candle. There I was with my friends, taking a cute selfie... and I hear "Are you planning on purchasing the candle you put in the bag?" Honestly, I didn't think she was speaking to me... until my friends' jaws all dropped to the floor. I mean, every single person in the doorway heard her. It was beyond embarrassing - and she really wasn't apologetic when I went back inside and MADE her search my bag. I wanted her to know - 100% - that I wasn't stealing the candle (And by the way, the candle smelled just as sweet as the "signature martini". IT WAS SO SWEET - I didn't drink more than 3 sips.) Accusing someone of stealing is a VERY serious accusation - at least in my book. If I did that to someone - and it was a mistake - I would have done SOMETHING to make up the misjudgment. This woman acted as if it was no big deal; as if it happened all the time. She actually said that they have people steal the candles all the time. A smart establishment would move them from the entrance/exit door - if that truly is the case. Don't y'all agree? Bottom line, it was a nice experience - but that ending was handled so unprofessionally and in such a low-class manner - I won't be back. My friends felt worse about the situation than I did - so I doubt they'll be running back either. All over a $25 candle. If she truly thought I stole the candle, she should have walked over to me privately and in a more respectful manner. Maybe getting accused of stealing is a common, every-night occurrence at 618. To me, it's one of the lowest things someone can do -- so it is an accusation I do not take lightly. If you venture to 618 - don't touch or smell the $25 candle! It ain't worth it! My co workers are always raving about 618 and I figured I would give it a try. First off, definitely make reservations because this place is popping. My boyfriend and I arrived at 6 pm on a Friday night and all they had left was bar seating which we were fine with. For a drink I got the mai tai swing and it was strong and tasty. Plus the drink itself is beautiful. Appetizer we got was the short rib ravioli and this did not disappoint. The amount of flavor/umami was on point. For entree we both got the branding. The fish was cooked perfectly where the meat flaked right off the skin. Not to mention the skin was still crispy. We will definitely be returning to try more of the menu. read more

We came here for an event last night. The 1st floor is for regular dining and the 2nd floor is for events. The space was nice and warm. Everything was very brown. To me, the venue needed more color or lighting, but again that's just me. It was giving me Harry potter hogwarts vibe with the high ceiling and lighting. There was an open bar with 2 bartenders, I don't know if it was me again, but they seemed slow when taking orders. Waiters/waitresses were nice. Their faces said differently, lol. Many looked like they didn't want to be there. As for food, I can't say much about the dining food since it was an event. I can surely talk about the food served to us. Pretty much all was buffet style. I wasn't fond of the Chinese station. The pasta was good. I took some breaded chicken which were very dry and had no flavor. The carving station had beef which was good. Meat cooked well and had good flavor. There was a taco station. This wasn't bad, wish they labeled the sauces and add ons. Instead of adding guacamole to my tacos I accidentally added some other green stuff. Dessert wasn't bad either. They had a lot of choices which I appreciated. We want to come here for dinner because the event only gave us a taste of the food. I'd like to have an overall experience. Also, I was wondering why the plates were so small at this event???? From the moment we walked in to find an anniversary card and a napkin in the shape of a rose to the complimentary champagne at the end, it made our night special. The food was nothing short of exceptional. We had the truffle potatoes and fig flatbread for appetizers and the skirt steak and pear pasta for dinner. I wanted to do dinner with my mom and heard some good things about this spot. I made reservations via online. When I arrived I parked in their private lot. I was greeted by the hostess and she sat me and my mom. The place was super cute and very spaced out. We were served by Bianca and she was great. Daniella, the manager, also was very attentive to our table. When I checked in with yelp they honored the $15 house bottle of wine, so I ordered the Cabernet, which was just ok tasting. My mom had the old Manhattan which she liked. For appetizers we ordered the crab cakes and it was very good. My mom had to ask for bread for the table and that was good as well. For our entrées my mom ordered the prime rib and I ordered the catch of the day branzino. My mom really enjoyed her dish. My dish was just ok, I had to add quite a bit of salt to taste because it was kind of bland. The bill came to about $113 for everything. All in all we had a good experience. read more

I had the pleasure to visit this restaurant last Saturday for a birthday dinner. The restaurant is very sleek and beautifully decorated. Loved the lamps and trees. For some goers it maybe slightly dim I saw them using their cellphone flashlight to read the menu. The food was great beautifully plated and full of flavor. The lamb sliders are a must try along with the hanger steak and pork chop. The hanger steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The pork chop was the juiciest most well cooked I have ever had. I also tried the stuffed mushrooms were good and the pork belly has great flavor but was not crispy as described. The burger was cooked perfectly and the fries are well seasoned and crispy. As for dessert I was very impressed I tried the chef's pistachio olive oil cake and can I just say I would return to this place just to have another slice it was amazing and super moist. The service was great our server was Jenn and she was very attentive along with all of the managers on that day (Justina and a male that I can't remember his name) my dad spilled water on the table and a waiter walking by had the napkins ready for clean up .. Great surprise 5 miles from home. This place is a hidden gem in freehold Park & 79. To our surprise this place is beautiful with a large "Free Parking lot in Freehold". Mike our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and guided us to a fabulous meal. The appetizer we he suggested was their "short rib Ravioli", just order it...you'll thank me later. My wife had "grill island salmon", apparently, it was spectacular. I had "Cabernet Braised Short Rib", it was juicy & shredded with the forks touch Perfect! Mike also suggested a desert of "Warm Sticky Toffee Cake w Vanilla Ice-cream". Trust me don't question Mike... All of the appetizers were delicious: Short rib ravioli, broken spuds with truffles, meatballs, burrata. I had the pork chop as a main course and it was delicious, perfectly cooked. The only disappointment is that the smoked old fashioned is pre-mixed (confirmed by our waitress) and they are very weak.
