Waited a while to post this review, because I wasn't quite sure where to begin. Totally sketchy 7-Eleven. Drug addicts and homeless people hanging outside. Filthy both inside and out. Very limited selection of everything, unless you want candy, a small bag of chips or a bottle of something to drink. Disgusting. I walked in (reluctantly) and within 30 seconds I was back outside. Unfortunately this is that 7-Eleven that attracts a transient community that is not always nice or stable minded. I'm not insensitive to houselessness or homelessness. With so much crap that people take working at convenience stores. In my opinion you should only be hired if you are a Jiu-Jitsu, black belt, MMA, CIA, SEAL training or all of them together kinda skills. I must give kudos to the staff that work here. It was 630 on Saturday, 11/25/2022. Two staff people were working (male and female). In five minutes the following happened: They were threatened, they were called heinous names, they were stolen from, they were verbally attacked, they were provoked, and then re-threatened. And... Both were so non-bothered and simply continued to help the other customers that have their wits about them. Applause. Security needs to be invested to patrol this area because this type of behavior to employees in my opinion is considered abusive and the owner should do what is right for his employees. And this 7-Eleven does a lot to maintain order and cleanliness despite the above experience. During a time of an Epidemic, this establishment is serving hot food with NO MASK to protect themselves and others. The cashier had a mask on (covering her chin) NOT COVERING her mouth or nose. I mean what can you say, it's 7/11. Not sure what people are expecting but I've had little to no problems at this location. That being said, I'm also not buying any hot wings, pizza, or hot dogs from a convenience store. I can't say that there is anything particularly special about this location, however it serves my needs just fine. The biggest issue I have here is that the cappuccino machine has consistency issues, however that's more about the machine itself as I experience the same issue at all 7/11's (time for an upgrade). The staff here is friendly if you are and I always have a good laugh with them when I come through. This 7/11 is often frequented by the local police department so if you're into that, it's a plus. The only other issue I run into is they sometimes don't have the product I'm looking for in-stock. It doesn't happen that frequently but it does happen. Rarely do I like to give out one stars because it's not representative of the business and I don't like to think that my one bad experience might show what the company really is about. HOWEVER, this 7-Eleven made me pretty uncomfortable and I don't think I'd ever come back because of it. My two friends and I came in on a Friday night and wanted to get a few snacks before making it December Nights, which, if you're going don't snack and just wait to eat at the numerous vendors over there. So, we enter the store and immediately the two guys at the counter start asking if we have boyfriends and blah blah blah acting all cute and flirty but it was pretty gross and I was really annoyed at all their unnecessary commentary. Like...uhm? Excuse you? We had said we're not really going to answer them/talk to them about that we just wanted our gosh darn tacquitos. My friend went to use the bathroom and one of the guys was like, oh you didn't answer my first question/asking about her ethnicity which honestly, is just so creepy and unprofessional. My friend said she wasn't going to answer and he was so persistent? Like? Do you really think we're interested? Think twice please. Everyone in my party was really uncomfortable and it put a damper to our night. Like, I had fun the rest of the time but this was really just, not cool. This place is not following COVID protocol. People are walking around without masks and getting too close to one another. They need to limit the amount of people coming in and make sure only people with masks are coming in. Also, only one person should be at the register at a time. Needed a quick beverage for the evening to settle into my hotel across the street. I was staying at the hotel just catty-corner to the hotel I was staying at. I just needed a quick beverage to put me out for the night, needed some ginger ale to go with my maple crown. Pretty safe location, although there appears to be an occasional transient nearby panhandling for change or a cigarette. The place is fairly clean. I went straight to the soda refrigerator to find my beverage of choice and straight to the register I went. Transaction was fast and off I went back to my hotel. read more

I grew up loving 7-11 and was so excited to live close to one but I refuse to go anywhere near this store. I live close by and every time I drive by there are so many homeless people outside strung out on drugs. Any time I have gone here, I have gotten harassed by the homeless and have seen them doing drugs outside. Unfortunately I have said something to the clerks and they don't do anything about it, ever. I have been to other stores where they have security who get rid of the homeless, this store doesn't care and it affects the customer from coming inside! They have a captive audience because our place of employment is only one block away. This place isn't terrible, it's just not managed as well as the one up the street on University and 5th Avenue. The "local" color from the canyon off of Spruce hang out there and drink in the parking lot at times and hustle patrons for money. The surrounding area is dirty and there never seems to be enough cashiers on duty. Some of the employees here are very, very nice so it has that going for it but that is about the nicest thing I can say about this place. Skip it unless you are desperate and go to the one on University and Fifth down the street. read more

I live right by this 7-11 but really don't like going there. Every time I need to pop in for something quick I always get bugged by lots of homeless people. They congregate around here. I perhaps look like I'm in possession of lots of spare change, it's a bit annoying. The store itself is like most other 7-11's. Not amazing products, not amazing prices, but that's what you get for being 'convenient'. One really cool thing that I loved about this store was one of the clerks from Pakistan spoke some Mandarin. One time I came in with my father in law who speaks zero English and they were able to chat it up. Really awesome! 5 star clerk! read more

This is just up the street from me and an easy walk. The service is mixed. I had a craving for Yellowtail and the Market Place was already out. 7-Eleven had one 6-pack left, but it had 1 bottle missing. I wanted to buy it anyway, cause I didn't want to drive to Hillcrest to get it. They wouldn't sell it to me and were very rude and mean about it. That left a bad, sober taste in my mouth. Other experiences have been fine. This location is hit or miss. I'll continue to go here since it is convenient and that's what a convenience store is meant for. I still prefer the Market Place. read more

7-Eleven is something I grew up with. I wouldn't consider it a "classy establishment" but I wouldn't stop swinging by for a Slurpee. However, during the 7-Eleven birthday week an incident has changed my mind. I had already downloaded and registered the app for 7-Eleven and was looking forward to grabbing a FREE Big Gulp. I walk in and patiently wait in line to confirm with the cashier which size Big Gulp was being offered for free. She said she didn't know and shrugged. Okay...I proceed to show her my savings barcode which she scans and says "it doesn't work, okayyyyy?" At this point I don't understand why the attitude is ever present but give her the benefit of the doubt(we all have bad days), and ask for the manager. I was wrong when I thought that the customer service from the cashier was as bad as it could get! The manager was mopping a spilled drink and didn't look up at me once as I was explaining the situation and asked her for her advice on how to proceed. It until I showed her the app and she held my phone to see it better that she finally made eye contact and replied "Sorry, barcode doesn't work, not free." You are telling me that a manager can't do jack on FREE BIG GULP DAY? I tell her that I redeemed the mobile coupon as cited and was confused and I received an exasperated look and a drawn out "not freeeeeee" as if I was a moocher ruining her day. I don't understand how asking two employees for help(all this within a 3 min time span, not like I was nagging for hours on end)was so highly irritating. I walked out and as about to leave but a male employee who had just arrived for work was standing by the drink station. I figured I might as well ask one more employee on my out. He was the ONLY NICE, AND CUSTOMER SERVICE ORIENTATED EMPLOYEE! I wish I had gotten his name, since he should be recognized. He took his time to look at the app and when I explained to him all that had occurred he told me to simply grab a Big Gulp since it was FREE Big Gulp day. Unlike his coworkers, he realized that it was not as if i was asking for some grandiose favor. He made my day, definitely the saving grace of this location. It's been a while since I came to this 7-11. I decided to drop in once again to see if anything has changed since my last review and thankfully, it has. My biggest complaint before was the customer service, which has made a good turn around since my last visit. Considering it's the same group of employees I saw last time, I must say I am impressed with the turn around. The store itself is maintained very well but I still find that 7-11's food quality is not as good as some of its local competitors that offer healthier options for the same price. Overall, my attitude towards this location has turned around for the better, if you are in the area and need to pick up something quick, then I would say this 7-11 is a good place to stop by. read more

My low rating is for one very important reason. I realize that their prices are already high, even by convenience store standards, but I have found this location to be at best selective about honoring their posted prices. Yesterday I refilled a Slurpee cup, with the posted prices being .99 or $1.19, depending in the size. The cashiers and manager insist that the refill price is $1.50, even though one of their cashiers gave me the right price last week, and other locations have charged the right price. Yesterday they charged .99 to me, but it was obvious they were only doing it to pacify me, and that they really didn't care if they were screwing me over. I will be writing to corporate to see what they have to say about this, but the likelihood is that I won't be going back to this store, even though that means going out of my away a little bit. I live close by and it's very convenient. Usually a nice staff but one individual is stingy as hell with quarters. They have tons of rolls of them visible from the front counter but he refuses to give them as cash back. Everyone is cool and has no problem with it, but you sir are a dick.
