I've been staying in Marathon for a week and 7 Mile Grill has quickly become my go-to spot--I've had breakfast here almost every day and dinner several times too! The service is absolutely amazing--everyone is friendly, quick, and genuinely kind. The food? Out of this world. The biscuits and gravy are the best I've ever had, and the homemade corned beef hash is phenomenal. For dinner, I tried the grouper sandwich and it was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. At the start of my trip, I was eating at Porky's, but once I found 7 Mile Grill, I never went back. This place is easily 200 times better--better food, better service, better everything. After going back and forth on if I wanted to stop at Seven Mile Grill or another restaurant for breakfast, it came down to not being able to find enough information on what they serve for breakfast that made up my mind. I knew, though, that I still wanted to stop for their key lime pie, which looked very good in pictures others have posted. The pie filling was far too sweet and nowhere near tart enough for key lime pie. I also thought the crust was too buttery and didn't mesh well with the pie filling. Given how the pie experience went and the struggle to find information about their breakfast options, I'm glad I decided to go elsewhere. read more

We visited this restaurant based on all of the positive reviews. The setting is nice with an old school counter that you can sit at. We had no problem getting seated at the counter. Unfortunately, the service was very slow (almost like we were being ignored). Finally, they took our order. My wife ordered the spinach and feta omelette and I got the biscuits and gravy. The food came quick enough but the food was just not very good. The omelette was very flat with (believe it or not) waaaay too much feta. The biscuits and gravy were okay but they lacked flavor and my over-medium eggs were super over-easy. Just not what we expected with all of the good reviews. read more

Well things never stay the same unfortunately. Been coming here everytime we hit the Keys for many years. Last time was about 3 years ago and it's was slipping then. Went there today for lunch hoping it was better.Their famous crabcake is no longer on the menu. Order Mahi mahi fish in a wrap along with onion rings. The fish was definitely old, the tarter sauce helped to cover the taste. The onion rings...omg...I really should have taken a picture they had to have been refried at least twice if not 3 times and were about black in color. Vanessa the waitress was nice and friendly. But food was sub par...typical bar food would be a comparable. Now breakfast might be different have not been there for that so that might be good. Unfortunately we won't be back, it's sad because we really loved that place. read more

This is a nice little on the side of the road grill that's very busy food was excellent service was good you can sit outside if you get too hot you can go inside the air conditioning it's a little bit smaller but it's very traditional Florida food. read more

Went here for dinner on a Sunday night at 7:30pm & was able to be seated right away. There is really no clear indication on what way to come in as there is no hostess or sign that tells you to "wait to be seated". As we walked in, a waitress behind the bar ringing up an order, said "how many" and then just pointed to a table for us. As we sat at our table, we watched other people come in being as equally confused as to where to sit because there was no sign up or no person to tell them where to sit, so the owner might want to address this. FOOD - wasn't the greatest but wasn't bad. Crabcake was delicious but the salad on the side felt like an after thought. Lobster bisque was just ok. Wasn't alot of lobster in it and was more like a broth consistency than bisque so I wouldn't order that again. They over cooked the fried shrimp & onion rings, so the shrimp was very rubbery. Burger was cooked good and had good flavor. I will agree with other reviews that the Key Lime Pie was REALLY good and this is probably only thing I would order again from here. SERVICE - Our server, Duke, was awesome! This guy is a hard worker and was very attentive to our table and we even observed him helping with other tables that weren't his. BREAKFAST - We decided to come back & give the breakfast a try on Monday.. Got here around 8am & there were only 2 people at the bar. Was seated right away & brought drinks quickly. There was a miss communication between the waitresses as to who was going to take our table, so after waiting for 15 mins we got up and to get a waitress so we could place our order. Went to order the corned beef hash and was informed they longer serve that but yet it was still on the menu, so they need to update their menus. We had the 7Mile Omelet which was good portion & tasty. Also had their sausage gravy, which was good. Overall, this place left no impression on me and I have no desire to try their food again. There are better places to eat at in Marathon that are priced the same as this place and the food is way better. So for me and my family, we will not be coming back here . read more

5 stars all the way! Love this cute little dive off highway 1! We stopped here after visiting Key West for the day and I was impressed with everything! Service was great! We were greeted by a nice man who put in our order promptly. We also had a female waitress who brought out food and also informed us about the locals beers and encouraged us to try them! Sooo good! The beer was Iguana Bait from the local Florida Keys Brewing Co- so delish! It has honey and hibiscus- yum! For an appetizer we ordered the hot feta dip served with warm pitas. It wasn't very spicy, just very tasty! For the main course, my husband had the gyro wrap with fries. The meat was very tender and delish. I had a chicken souvlaki pita and ate it basically like a salad, open face, like I'd have back home. Super good. BLUF: I will never be coming back to this place. I have zero idea why it is rated so high. Maybe it was awesome at one point? Who knows. I called and was told that seating is fast, but the food comes out slow. This turned out to be true, but that was ok because I was expecting it. What I was NOT expecting was: -To be told to take a seat, then be ignored for 20 minutes. -Dirty floors -To clean my own table with the "sanitizing" rag that the staff was using to wipe tables, only to realize it is a dirty rag and it wasn't sanitizing anything. -To use my own alcohol sanitizing wipes, and realize just how dirty the take table really was (REALLY DIRTY). The server tried to say it "is just the way the table top is." What?? - Be given my meal, but have to wait 10 more minutes for silverware. -Be forgotten at my table after I got my meal. At one point the server looked at me when I went to ask for some silverware that was never given to us, and asked me who I was and if I'd been seated yet... really? -The food was very average. My French toast had an exaggerated pile of cinnamon on it, which was not pleasant. I think the sausage patty is from a frozen stock. BUT WORST OF ALL: -To watch the servers (plural) use their bare hands to grab olives from a big jar with their BARE HANDS, and not only serve them to people like that for their drinks, but to also EAT THEM FROM THE JAR BARE-HANDED. I literally watched a server put her bare hand into the jar, grab an olive and pop one into her mouth, then grab more olives to serve to customers. NEVER GOING BACK. read more
