Great Atmosphere. I wasn't expecting to like this place so much but there's not much to dislike besides sometimes it gets crowded.

We came here during lunch hours, when it was low key for Father's Day. They say they are a kid friendly brewery but scold you and make you feel unwelcome when your kids act like kids. Don't come here if you want to be treated poorly for coming with kids. I love their beer and this location but because of how we were treated, we will never come back here. So sad that a bartender had to act that way... it's truly unfortunate for the business. read more

7 Seas Tacoma location is awesome. Beer, coffee, gourmet sandwiches all under one roof! **BJCP Certified Beer Judge snob review/warning*** I count 16 house beers on tap, with a guest cider as well. Good mix of styles, which is rare for the PNW. Instead of seeing 13 IPAs on tap, there are *only* four IPAs on tap here. Nice to see a stout, porter, hefeweizen, pilsener, and even a gose too. This building is part of 7 Seas master vision to increase their annual production from 8,000 barrels to 100,000. While congratulations are in order, it's also kind of sad when a "small" hometown brewery turns into a true regional player. There are also plans to have an in-house barrel aging / souring program, which is pretty cool if you like those styles of beer. Cool little display case showing off swag and some vintage Heidelberg brewery artifacts. This building is technically part of the Heidelberg brewing complex from many years ago, but most of the original Heidelberg buildings have been demolished. There have also been other tenants since Heidelberg went kaput and 7 Seas moved in, but it's still a neat connection. Awesome place, great beers and food and coffee. Everytime I come here I (semi jokingly) threaten to move in here, because between beer, food, and coffee they have everything I need under one roof! read more

Horrible service from the employee named 'Grant'. Been at this location several times( 30x+) and talked to management about his bliss. This was explained as an excuse for his personal life and online dating on his phone in the back room and on the floor with 15 degree vision. If you work at a bar that has a table or circle bar around you, you are responsible for these people around you to service these individuals on their first beer or 3rd. Go here, wave your arms around, get nothing from the staff. Ive found Service from geni and Tobi(who are now gone into office). Good luck, last visit with all our money, family and guests. read more

Brrrrrrrr! I've been a few times and LOVE the shuffleboard... give your ID to the beertenders and play to your hearts content! So. Much. Fun. They have a great beer menu, although I'm not able to drink beer for health reasons... I do however drink the guest ciders and they're quite lovely! The reasoning for such a low rating is the lack of heat. I'm sorry... but I shouldn't have to bundle up and spend time away from friends defrosting in the bathroom, where the only heater is. I have a hard enough time with circulation in my hands and feet as it is! You've created an awesome space.... for summer! Not everyone can tolerate cold temperatures! Check this place out today. It's giant!! So much space. Lots of beer to choose from and one seasonal cider. There's a coffee place inside. Also, there's a sandwich counter. Expensive sandwich for what it is, cold turkey and bacon for like $15? This venue is kid friendly so there are children running around. Parents drinking, letting their kids run around the place like a daycare. That's annoying. Kids touching the shuffleboard while you are trying to play. Might be back. read more

"Awkward" is the best way I can describe this spot. The layout is what I'm referring to. The facility is huge. Tons of open space between the bar and tables. But actually very few places to sit. Its a collection of couches and communal benches. Very few private tables to sit. Hey, I'm all about Saul Alinsky and community. But the lack of seating is odd. And service outside the bar slow. Place just has a cold and hollow felling as well. Huge beer list. Nothing stood out to me and many were less than spectacular. Service at the bar was quick and attentive. Adding to the awkwardness is the in-house cafe. The food is excellent. But having to leave your table (and lose your seating spot) to stand in line and place and order is just dumb. I am sure there is a logical reason they have the cafe separate from the pub operations, but it does not work. Adding to the strangeness is the food is served with disposable utensils and plates. Come on, this isn't Berkeley - being this PC is down right annoying. I am sure this pub will do OK. But Adjust your expectations. read more

I decided to check this brewery out while home for the holidays and it did not disappoint! The atmosphere was fantastic and I really enjoyed the vibe. From the spaced out large couches, to the various high tops to the lights hanging over the bar, everything was perfect. I truly enjoyed all the unique beers and I liked that they give you the option of various numbers of flights instead of just a set number. The flight glasses were cool and I truly believe their marketing person did a great job as I really like their logo as well! The bartenders were all very friendly as they checked on us and we truly had a great time checking out this brewery! I would definitely recommend others to check it out! read more

Well this new and second location for 7 Seas almost slipped under my radar! In a way I like it a bit better than their location in Gig Harbor because this location is offering quite a bit more! There is a restaurant in the taproom as well. That is run by a separate owner I believe, the one that also has the Top of Tacoma. There was a sign posted also that Valhalla Coffee will also be opening up here as well! 7 Seas has come a really long ways compared to what Steve has told me. Steve made it to Washington about 8 months before I did and 7 Seas was running their brewery out of a trailer. By the time I got moved out though the beer improved and they moved into their very fine taproom location in Gig Harbor. I didn't even know their plans for expansion until I walked by the building and saw a liquor posting saying who was moving in there. I'm really excited now not only because the taproom is gorgeous and spacious but now this is just one less reason to deal with that pesky toll at the bridge coming back into town. I usually have to mount several reasons to justify the toll and often times stop at 7 Seas when a stop in Gig Harbor is warranted. Not that I won't go across anymore but now I can enjoy their beer on tap more frequently in a very impressive location. The beer is as good as ever! read more

It was a cold, rainy night and we wanted to find a place indoor to warm up while we ate and chat. I arrived here hoping it would be warm inside, but it was so cold I had to keep my jacket on. I really wanted a cold beer to sip on, but that was not an option for me because I was already too cold. The place is large with various seating options (not comfortable). There was a couch oddly placed on one side, lots of benches in the center, single chairs, bar stools, etc. PROS: 1) Food server(s) were awesome. They were thorough and answered all questions. We wanted some oysters and they had 5 different (fresh) types to choose from. They will shuck it for you. 2) Their Atlantis tuna sandwich was the best I've had thus far. The capers in the sandwich made it so good. 3) The meat, cheese, & fruit platter was delicious that we had to order two of them, but missing the wine for pairing. 4) All beers are as fresh as you can get them (straight from the source)! 5) Kids are welcomed there ("well-behaved ones only," which I don't have a problem with). CONS: 1) Uncomfortable seats 2) Bartender that night didn't seem to be too happy to be there. 3) They need some serious heating/insulation in there to provide comfort for customers. 4) All food were served on paper plates or plastic trays. Husband and I went here just spur of the moment and it was so wonderful. This place is massive on the outside and it definitely does not let you down when you walk in. I had a porter and my husband had a Hefeweizen. The porter was not heavy and it wasn't light, so a happy medium. IBU 5.5 The aroma has high tones and a hint of sweetness. The first taste is a little bready and a touch wheaty. This is a nice beer; As it's name implies, a Summer Ale. It has a short finish that just drops away. *** Stars Experimental IPA 6.7. IBU 80 Light aroma. Easy IPA hoppy, leaning toward an ESB. Very nice finish the bitterness is beautiful. Always top tier service and beer. They are quick with the beer, Lord knows we need it given all the ups and downs, (mostly downs) of 2020. Haylee is always on point remembering regulars and occasionally. The seating is set up well to accommodate social distancing but still have the vibe they have always upheld. It's my go to for a quick beer or two. They have the deli place you can order from, (Bacon grilled cheese is worth it) and it ties nicely into the whole ambiance. The overwhelming amount of beer options only adds to the feeling that this is truly the afterlife. The Brewery is a wonderful venue, its feel like a hip industrial loft. The beer selections are great. The Built Tacoma sandwich shop is inside the Brewery and has an order window (to table service). The sandwiches taste great but its about $3.00 over-priced for what it is. I give 3 stars based on price alone. After tax and tip you are looking at $16.50 for a sandwich and bag of chips. read more

We stopped here at 6:44pm on a day it was 80 degrees outside to have a couple beers but it was probably 85 or 90 in their taproom, it was miserable. After one beer we left and went to a different brewery and spent our money there. Sweating and drinking mediocre beer isn't in my wheelhouse. If you do come here, come on a day that is 70 degrees or below unless you want to be uncomfortable. At least the sandwiches at 3uilt (Built) were good. read more

Great spot to enjoy a brewery with the family and friends. Once you find street parking you entered to open space brewery. The center is the bar which offers signature brews the Will Maze IPA which was my favorite. In addition to ciders and roatating kombucha. The side to the bar you can order food from sandwiches, osyters specials, and other bar food. If you don't want to drink beer you can enjoy coffee to various espresso drinks. I noticed quite a few people on laptop around the bar who were just there for the atmosphere. They also have reserved area for private party if you need the space. I saw plenty of families with their kids out. It had good indoor space to allow kids to roam around. The changing area look clean in the men's when I was there, so it was helpful for the diapers changes. I would like to come back again to for the brewery tour. They were marking brewery tour for $5 with souvenir glass afterward which is a great deal. Overall great spot in the Tacoma area. read more

Nice redeux of a the historic Heidelberg brewery. Much of the history and industrial look and feel is preserved. 7 Seas has a fabulous collection of beers with an excellent pilsner, session IPA and brown as examples. The taproom is well laid out and comfortable. A big space so can get a bit noisy. Food is available from Built and there is a shuffleboard to help burn off those pints. We will be back. read more

Me and my family came in to have a late lunch on Friday. We were able to park right upfront with no issues. First off this place is HUGE and can be a bit confusing at first. In the center is the bar where the breweries beers are featured. On the far left (by the exit) you have a sandwich shop (Also serves ice cream options from Ice cream social) that has a wide variety of options and next door to that is Valhalla coffee' s 2nd location. This place is ideal for large groups it has large table tops that invites different groups of people to sit together and a few couches to relax in. If someone is in the mood there's a piano in the corner. My Husband tried the sampler and enjoyed each one. I got a coffee float which was delicious. read more

Giving two stars on Yelp has an automatic description of: "Meh. Ive experienced better." "Meh". I couldn't say it better. I live literally one block from this brewery and I absolutely love their beer so I was so excited when I saw a massive "Coming soon" sign last year. I have been here a few times and the experience is always the same. The setting is a massive warehouse with absolutely tons of room to move about and congregate. They have a full size shuffleboard table and it's a great quality table. Seriously, the best table I've ever played on, it's a joy to play! They have many bar tables lining almost every wall, one of which overlooks the massive brewery itself. When they first opened they only had the bar itself centerstage in the area and no offerings for food. They now have a boutique sandwich shop staffed by a local restaurant called 3uilt (pronounced Built) and they even have Valhalla Coffee Shop in there as well; and that is a huge bonus because I consider Valhalla the best coffee in all of Tacoma. So what isn't to like you ask? The clientele. This place is rife with college-age, beard growing, man-bun wearing, Tacoma ironic hipster types that bring a vet clinic's worth of dogs on leashes and enough baby strollers and baby Bjornes to make Kids-R-Us jealous. Look, I love babies and I absolutely love dogs! But can I please go to a bar and drink beer with my friends without being accosted by dogs or getting dirty looks because I'm making inappropriate jokes and using foul language?! IT'S A F*CKING BAR PEOPLE!!!! Get your babies out of here! And in case you think it's limited to nipple chewing thumb suckers in strollers, you're wrong. They have an event room that is host to parties and I have been there during what I have to believe was a birthday party for 1st graders judging by how many rug rats were running around, screaming, and messing with the sand on the shuffleboard table. Ever hear of Chuck-E-Cheese's?!?! They serve beer there too! The other awkward feature about this place is their own doing. As I said before they have a massive area and tons of room to walk and congregate but not a lot of places to park your but. It's a mixture of a couple of leather couches, long communal tables and against the wall high-bar seats. Not really anywhere to just sit and chill with the company you came with. Is the beer good here? Yes. Does it have a ton of potential, have a huge footprint in a small college town? Yes. Is it ruined by everything I just mentioned? Yes. Do I have to be dragged here every time I come here? Yes. Do I want to like this place? Yes! It's just a shame that this place is so close to me, and yet so far from perfect. It's a shame. read more
