The technician spent maybe 5 minutes in my home. Our washer lid frame is cracked right where the hinge connects to the frame. It makes the lid sit crooked and won't close unless you maneuver it just right. The tub is also dragging and making a clacking noise. He said noises aren't covered so he wouldn't even attempt to diagnose that. As for the lid, he said he sees this same issue all the time with our kind of washer. He claimed he's seen at least 10 claims of this in the past few months and none are covered. He told me that my best bet was to hope that the warranty person was brand new and didn't know any better. I had pointed out that the hinge covers were removed by the previous technician and they were in the cabinet if he needed them. He said I couldn't prove that the last tech did that, so the warranty company was going to say this was use and abuse. The warranty company denied my claim because the technician stated in his report that we used and abused the washer by slamming the lid. It's a soft-close lid. How did we slam it? Despite Mr. "You can't prove that" being all about evidence before, he now says our washer is broken because of abuse and you know it's abuse because it's broken. How does that make sense?

Although I am not the person who sets the contractor, I hope Appliance Guru is used if I ever have any problems with my LG products in the future.
