    Pork cubes with sweet plantains
    Jose T.

I am writing this review from the perspective of our first visit to 787, which may not necessarily aligns with the experience that others have posted online. I am always of the opinion to try the place even when the reviews are not that great because you may never know if your experience will be very different than from others and you also may never know how the experience of the restaurant staff was with the clients that were not too satisfied because, let's be honest, some clients are not easy to please at all no matter you bring them the sun and the moon. Well, leaving that clear, let's start talking about our unique experience as first timers at 787. We had dinner at 787 about a week ago and it was a great experience. First, our server Michael was very cordial and attentive, checking on us constantly and sharing with us his opinion about some of the most popular drinks and dishes for us to pick from. My wife ended up ordering a Piña Colada that came inside a whole pineapple (beautiful presentation!) and I ordered the 787 Mojito made with "coquito" (traditional alcoholic drink made with coconut cream, cinnamon and other ingredients). Both drinks were delicious!! Then, we ordered some appetizers. One of them was the "alcapurrias", followed by the "surullitos" (corn sticks) and chicken empanadas as well. All of them were very tasty, not greasy at all (they are fried, just in case), and full of flavor. As for main dishes, my wife ordered the kan-kan pork chop (tomahawk style) with "mofongo" and "malanga" (taro) purée and I ordered the fried pork cubes with sweet plantains and "malanga" purée. First of all, portions were the size of those that our grandmas used to serve us when we were kids, very abundant!! Second, when we tried the "mofongo"as well as the "malanga" purée we experienced a true ecstasy to the palate!! Both were flavorful and all the ingredients used were delicate and very balanced (based on my Puerto Rican palate). The purée was magnificent and, to be transparent, we ended up laughing because the two of us had the idea of ordering it as one of our sides and in fact one side would have been sufficient to share with maybe three people (but, of course, we took home the leftovers ). Both the pork chop and the pork cubes were tender and delicious. My wife asked the pork chop not to be too crunchy (normally it's done that way) and the cook did an excellent job cooking it to the point she liked it, which not every place is successful achieving such. And, as my grandma used to say, a meal without a dessert is not a meal, we ended up ordering two of their delicious choices even we didn't know where to accommodate more food after all the things we tried. On this line, we ordered the "Tres Leches Coquito" cake that, different from the traditional "Tres Leches", they make it with a touch of "coquito" (liquor) and we also ordered the "flan" sampler that comes with three small "flans", one coconut, one vanilla, and one cheese. OMG, all of them were exquisite, really, really amazing!!! I, personally, have a sweet tooth and these two desserts made the end of our dinner an unforgettable one. Lastly, let's talk about the ambience. The restaurant has plenty of space and we arrive at a good time when it wasn't busy yet, so, they were able to accommodate us without reservation. However, when it comes to weekends and having dinner at night, I would highly recommend to make reservations. The radio music selection was very good and they also offer live music. The decoration shows the Puerto Rican pride in so many ways, with multiple murals all over the place; I particularly fell in love with how they painted the Puerto Rican flag on the stairs that go toward the second floor where the restaurant is (that made me feel nostalgic). In overall, our experience was a very good and pleasant one and we will certainly make 787 one of the best choices to enjoy authentic Puerto Rican cuisine. Our only recommendation is to ensure that there is a sign outside clearly identifying the place; when we arrived the GPS pointed out to a building in where the restaurant is but not having a sign made it difficult to find it. In the end, I had to call to confirm the location and they explained to me where the entrance was and how to reach to the second floor. To finalize, we would like to express our most sincere appreciation to Michael (server) and the staff that prepared our dinner (kitchen and bar) for making of our first experience at 787 a phenomenal one. Many Blessings to All!!

This is my family's go-to takeout place. The food is great and has short preparation time. We have only taken out so I couldn't tell you what the sit-in experience is like but from the looks of it the restaurant looks pretty. The people working there always get your order quickly and don't leave you waiting long. The empanadas here are my fav!

We enjoy this restaurant. Food was very good , the music was awesome , they also have hookah which was nice

I went here for my second time, and the vibe was okay. They sat us by the Dj which made it very hard to converse with people in your party. The food is what it it is for the price. The hookah is also good when they actually check on it. The waiter I believe "unique" was very sweet both times I went. Your plates will definitely look good when they come out, but lacking in real flavor. Also, valet cracked the lip on the front bumper of my car but refuse to get back to me about it. I've left my number, emailed, and sent messages via social media

If I could give this a 0/5 I would. This place is ableist and doesn't care about accommodating their customers. My family party of 8 were celebrating 2 birthdays and when placing an order, let the server know if we would be able to order something of the kids menu (shrimp skewer) for my mother who has advanced dementia and doesn't eat and gets anxious at the sight of being served large meals. I mentioned this to the server and she said she would speak with the manager to see if they would be able to accommodate this request. When she came back to tell me the manager said no, I asked why not, and she was condescending and said "well she is a full grown adult and not a child". At this point I asked to speak directly with the manager to explain the situation directly to her, after speaking to the manager she said no and that she had called the owner to ask if they could make an exemption and the owner said again said no. I asked if I would be able to have a conversation with the owner over the phone and the owner refused to speak to me. This goes to show how terrible business management the owner has. I ended up asking (out basic principles that this is no longer an establishment I can stand behind and support) to cancel our meals and we would like to close out our check and pay for the drinks. This breaks my heart that this establishment makes no expectations for families with special needs, if someone in the party has a disability and they are so firm and unwilling to make any exemptions. I cannot support a business being run like this where they cannot be bothered to help out families in their toughest times but instead fight back and double down harder about said "rules" when other businesses who are properly run and managed will be willing to make accommodations and not degrade their customers. On top of all of this, the manager and other employees were smoking hookah on the job in front of their customers by the bar, and when letting them know we were not going to be paying for anything we do not consume, they tried to have us leave with open alcohol containers and I had to remind them doing such things is ILLEGAL. On top of them practicing shady business, the server did not ID anyone at the table ordering alcoholic beverages, despite having 2 under age people a part of the party.

Food was delicious, very tasteful, seasoned well. Authentic dishes with modern presentation! For the restaurant to be filled with customers, the service was great and attentive. 787 definitely is a hang out spot for the weekend. For a more quieter time, definitely get here earlier. Overall, delicious food .

    Margarita flight & Suga Mamii
    Kelsey S.

We went on Saturday and arrived about half an hour after the opened so it wasn't crowded at all. The atmosphere was nice and our waiter was friendly and attentive. I order the margarita flight and it was pretty good. The passion fruit and mango flavors were delicious, strawberry was okay, but I didn't enjoy the tropical blue at all. My friend ordered the Suga Mamii but said she didn't like the flavor and said it was weak. For food I got the pernil with white rice and red beans- DELICIOUS! Loved every bite of it. Juicy and flavorful! My friend ordered the 787 mar & Tierra and loved it. Overall the service and food were great but the drinks left much to be desired. I would come back

    Music Band was great

Ok first be sure to know Music is the focal point the entertainment was well worth it our party had 7 people an well during check time it became a chore an difficult to get the bill Now the appetizer's top notch from their fritters Plaintainchips mini cuchifritos alcapurias were great the fried soruyos cornmeal fries with guava sauce great my people enjoyed the drinks OMG pina colada best we have had in a while ok the Pernil was on point flavorfil now many at my table got cold food which is a no no and i ordered the filet if I dont know what but was burnt and i asked for Medium and came well done it didnt need all that much sauce as well Me if i return it would be for the appetizer's On a scale of 1 to 10 solid 7.5 The Band was off the Hook music was a bit loud which i get when i band is playing but when regular music going it can be toned down a bit music to be enjoyed doesnt always have to be loud jus clear nice spot overall

Overpriced!! $ 47 dollars for 6-8 shrimp and $1 dollar worth of plantains and a Corona. Menu is missing prices. So you have no idea what you are paying. Also a 45 minute wait for a drink that never came. Cut the experience short due to poor service and smoke filled environment!!

They've remodeled the interior since I had seen it last, and I really like the paradise-like vibe they portray. The open air environment was neat, but it was a little hot that night. They also had live music and entertainment, so that was enjoyable. My only complaint there is that it was very loud, difficult to hear conversations at the table. Our serve was super friendly, gave excellent details about each special and took his time with our table. Very personable. I ordered the Salmon Aymara and it was delicious! The salmon was cooked nicely and seasoned with some really tasty spices. Asparagus was the vegetable of the day, which is one of my favorites, and that paired with the chaufa rice and béarnaise sauce made for an amazing combination of flavors. Overall, I loved the dish and the atmosphere, and will definitely return! Hopefully sooner rather than later!

The ambiance (and the service) is the star of the show at Los Andes. The relaxing South American music, the koi pond, the hum of happy diners all contributed to a lovely atmosphere. Our server was a true delight, very attentive, making great recommendations. We did not order desert but one of our party had a birthday and when we informed him we had no room for desert he brought out a plate with happy birthday drizzled in chocolate with a small mound of whipped cream and a strawberry. A very nice touch. I ordered a steak dish with the goal of getting as many South American flavors in my dish as possible- it came with a delightful cold salad, very good chimichurri, fried yuca, and a side of cheesy rice. The steak was cooked rare to my liking, which isn't always the case. It was a lot of food, beware. We started with some empanadas- which were also good, and this made it a Thanksgiving level feast. My party also enjoyed their dishes. Overall it was a lovely dinner! We look forward to returning.
