We come here every time we're in Manhattan--my 14 year old daughter absolutely loves their burgers! Classic cheese smashburgers paired with Mexican Cokes. It's easily one of the better smashburgers around--juicy patty, delicious sauce, grilled onions, pickles and a soft bun. The burgers are on the smaller side (not White Castle small, but my daughter usually eats two!), but at $6.50 for a single patty cheeseburger, it's a OK value. Don't skip the fries--they are crispy, delicious, and a generous portion for the price. Quick, easy, and fast! The staff was friendly, welcoming, and easygoing. I tried this place for the first time and although the burger tasted good. It was small and expensive for the price. A single patty cheeseburger was $6.50 and didn't come with lettuce or tomato. The fries were crispy and the portion was worth that price. The staff was friendly and the service was fast. I went quite late at night so there was no wait and a lot of seating space. This is one of their latest locations since 7th Street Burger has been expanding around the city. The place is pretty small and it's more of a take out place due to the small size. They do have 2 tables inside and outdoor seating. The lines of people ordering or waiting for their food make it feel very crowded. The menu is simple, they offer a regular cheeseburger, double cheeseburger, impossible burger, loaded fries, and regular fries. I was feeling very hungry and ordered the double cheeseburger. The double cheeseburger was actually not that big, 2 beef patties that are smashed on the grill, with pickles, onions on a soft potato bun. I opted out of the house sauce since I'm sure it contains mayonnaise, which I hate. The cheeseburger was good and just the right amount of greasy. I liked the simplicity of the burger, but my friend complained that it didn't have any flavor. A Burger Place Like Many Others, for Better or for Worse I strolled into 7th Street Burger on Labor Day after a heavy night of drinking and asked for a double jalapeño cheeseburger ($10), loaded fries ($11.50), and a Mexican Sprite ($3.50, all of which totaled out to around $28, post tax. The burger, with its greasy yet chewy potato bun, juicy patties, and assorted toppings of onions and pickles, blend together into an American classic. The loaded fries, raved about in many other reviews, seem to be your typical mix of meat, onions, sauce, and fries. I wish the sauce could permeate to the other fries underneath without making the top layer too soggy, but unfortunately that seems to be the way of the world rather than the fault of the cook. My main issue is with quantity and experience. Quite frankly, it's hard to mess up a burger and fries. It's even harder, in my opinion, to make it so good it justifies an elevated Manhattan price tag for not a lot of burger or fries. Yes, we could point to the COL, the rent, inflation, whatever. But regardless, in my opinion, it was disappointing. Especially in a place where the indoor seating is limited to 3-4 benches and tables and the outdoor seating consists of either two sad metal stools and a table (w/ no shade!) or an outdoor awning with 2 high tables and chairs that annoyingly do not go high enough to sit comfortably in and eat my food. And I had to open my own Sprite and ended up spilling some on my favorite pair of jeans, though admittedly that was probably a skill issue. For $28, I'd rather go to a place where I get served my burger and fries, where they're probably better proportioned, I get free water, there's ample indoor seating, and my Sprite is opened for me. All in all, I will say, the burger and fries tasted pretty good. But pretty good does not cut it. I have to have a reason to want to come back, whether convenience, quality, experience, quantity, X factor, etc., and 7th Street did not give me that reason. read more

Heard a lot about this place and decided to try. It definitely has a decidedly Gen-Z (and onward) demographic, since most of the clientele were high school and college students. On a Friday night, it was incredibly crowded, with a fairly long line and a 20-min wait. They also don't have much seating, consisting of a few small 2-seater outdoor tables, so be prepared to stand or share tables while you eat. As for the food, it's quite affordable ... for good reason. The burgers are tiny, barely larger than sliders. They're also no-frills - you're not getting arugula, truffle fries, and ciabatta buns here. A 4 inch beef patty, a pickle, a lettuce slice, sauce, and a flattened, sad-looking bun. That's what you're getting for $6-8. I'm really not a big eater, but I still felt pretty hungry after wolfing down my burger (in about 6 bites). That being said, the burger was quite pleasant and much better than expected. It's definitely a "SpongeBob" experience where quality reigns supreme over quantity, and looks aren't what they seem. If only it were double the size, I think I'd be more inclined to pay double the price for it. My favorite were the spicy loaded fries. They were delicious and absolutely worth the price. Sometimes you just want a greasy flavor-bomb of a burger. I'm fully onboard with the smash burger craze. This has its own unique twist, diced onions and a great burger sauce. I've got some other smash burger places to try before I can crown any the best, but 7th Street Burger is the best one so far. You might think the double cheeseburger is awfully small but it's heavier than it looks. I wasn't kidding about the delicious grease. It's a lot and you don't want to overdo it. One double and a Mexican Coke is plenty for me in one sitting. I always add the Loaded Beef Fries, but I end up eating those the next day. Fries, one burger patty, smothered in onions and the burger sauce... I like it as much as the burger. Plus it reheats real nice. Delivery is fast and the food travels well so it always comes still hot and in good condition. I've eaten in the store once. Be warned, there's not a lot of seating. The only seating is a bench in the front window with no table. The rest of the space consists of two standing table tops. I've seen all the tables and the bench full during a rush, so be prepared to take it to go. Even when it's busy, service is fast both in store and delivery. 3.5/5 So this is the 4th location that I have visited. Compared to my last visit in Chelsea, the ambience in terms of the music was better. This location at least didn't look like a hospital room like the Chelsea location and had a few paintings hung up. You could actually hear yourself amongst the music. It is a tight space, with limited seating. I waited approximately 20 minutes and had to stand since there was no seating available, which compared to the 45 minute wait on my last experience, at least was better. But, for such a limited menu and the simplicity of this menu it should take less than 10 minutes. From a burger perspective, compared to my first two experiences at different locations the patty was more well done and not as juicy, the cheese was not as gooey and melty, and the toppings more scarce. There are alot of smashburgers in nyc and burgers in general and this burger is definitely not the best. There is definitely a lot of social media hype around this chain and they are expanding too fast and losing consistency and quality in their product. My only concern was the burger was very oily, so much that the wrapper was soaked when I went to eat it.
