Talk about a food coma! But so worth it! I came here with my friend for a late lunch and the photos do not do it justice! The staff were very friendly and were very helpful when we were trying to decide what to eat, which is very hard to pick! I would have picked their PB&J smash burger but I was told it was small and I was very hungry so maybe for next time! The restaurant itself is very lowkey but full of history with photos and memorabilia on the walls. Their burgers are so amazing and huge!! I ordered the classic and the patty was HUGE! But the burger was delicious! The patty was very tender and fell apart with every bite! It paired well with the fried onions and other toppings! My friend ordered their Mac N Cheese burger with a side of curly fries and it was so filling that she wasn't able to finish it! The mac n cheese looked very cheesy and it looked sooo good! Bison Burger was so overcooked. We suspect they microwaved it... Go wit the classic to be safe.

Food, the taste was okay. Their menu shows a nicely sized burger with a tempting look, but what I received was a small, soggy burger similar to McDonald's. The bread was soaked, and the vegetables looked like they had been sitting in soup before being added to the burger. I suggest closing this place down and opening a Five Guys--that's a real burger. I have had the opportunity to dine here several times since my wife has been receiving chemo treatments next door at the clinic. The food here is very good. Everything is made fresh and they serve you generous portions. The service is always friendly and I have been promptly seated and served. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is in a basement level but it is really setup nicely and they also have patio seating. I have also had the opportunity to order take out when I couldn't stay and the food was just as good as if I were dining in. Phenomenal burger! We stopped in and had the Brie & Berry burger as well as the truffle smash and both were incredible. You get some pickles to start and then burgers come with fries. The Brie and Berry burger was delicious but they are MASSIVE. Service was fine, nothing special but good enough. Ambiance is very old New York as it is in the basement of a townhouse. Jackson Hole provides big juicy burgers in a speakeasy-esque Western saloon-themed setting. And so far, on the two occasions we've come, they've been excellent. Portions are massive, service is fast and attentive, and there's something just fun about being in a basement restaurant from the 1970s that's a tribute to Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns. NGL, I was hoping the 3ish starred review was from the type of yelpers who only come to complain. Descending the stairs I was excited with nostalgia & greeted by a lovely kitchen staff - sadly the flavors and quality of the food are just average. my steak fries/onion ring combo were burnt & cooked in stale grease. I sent them back with no problem. My burger looked great in the dim pub lighting feature old timey movie posters, which I suspect camouflage the grime. It was mostly just greasy & bland (even though I "built my own") I love when an NYC restaurant can survive the decades but JH is no longer a staple, and for a $30 burger it just ain't it! read more

The entrance is a little strange, you have to take a few steps down into a small door straight into a bar. We went around 6:30pm on a weekday and it was completely empty, which a bit of a weird vibe in a dark basement. Free pickles are served as you sit down. We got the smash burger and the classic burger. The smash burger with mushroom was amazing!! The classic burger patty was HUGE, it was like a ball you have to unhinge your jaw to take a bite. most disorienting unbelievable dining experience. ended up here famished and feverish. we went under an apartment building and found the most lively restaurant this neighborhood is capable of holding. the entry has a narrow passage with a wooden bar overlooking the burger grills. you cut across the cooking station into the first seating area, which through a long hallway with the energy meters of the apartments above opens into a second area, leading to a patio. with every additional seating space we became more enamored with the space. after being handed two ipads as menus, we received pickle slices to tide us over until our burgers came. we ordered the original burger and split it. let me tell you.. that was the best burger i've had in my life. i don't know if i could have a whole burger alone here, but i'm sure i would finish it off clean bc it's just so good i wouldn't be able to stop myself in all honesty. the bread was perfect, the jackson hole burger sauce was delicious, the burger was thick without tasting like cow; just everything i've ever wanted in a burger. i can't wait to come back and sit at the bar to watch the action. 1000/10 read more

My late Friday afternoon lunch, so I ordered the East Sider Burger that was topped with Bacon, Ham, Blue Cheese, Mushrooms, Tomato, and Fried Onions.  What can I say but:  WoW! What a burger!  It was juicy, tasty, and very filling, so pace yourself and enjoy. Also, an order of sweet potato fries that was delicious.  I would highly recommend this Jackson Hole  burger and the sweet potato fries. Came here with the fam for lunch. We ordered the chicken sand with pepper jack and a side of fries. We also got the chicken Caesar salad wrap and my older teen said it was the best she has ever had. History of Present Indulgence: Been twice now with the same friends. When we're craving burgers, this spot is usually the first to come to mind. Physical Exam: Taste - Hearty, juicy burgers that range from classic, no frills selections to wild and bold ones. They have a wide variety of toppings you can choose from to dress your burger, including one with a pineapple salsa and Sriracha mayo. I tried and yeah.. 10 out of 10. The Truffle mac & cheese and the Vaquero are two other top hits for me. And if you don't like the selection? You can build your own! I knock one point star down because, as filling and dense as these burgers are, the seasoning of the meat itself could use a little work. It does feel like most of the options are made by the toppings, whereas if I were to get a plain cheeseburger here, it'd be just okay. For sides, you can't go wrong with fries. BUT, Jackson Hole hits you with the variety again. Curly fries, sweet potato fries, waffle fries, onion rings, and you can even do a half & half. I'll also recommend the Cheesy Fried Pickles. If you like cheese, pickles, and the idea of that all being fried to a golden crisp and dipped in a housemade sauce, ordering it is a no-brainer. Service - Nice waiters both times and food comes out quickly. They're always lookin' out to see if you need drink and water refills, which is a must for me. Oh, and beer mugs are chilled and frosty. A definite bonus. Environment - It feels like walking into an old saloon-themed diner. It's a little dark and damp, but honestly adds to the charm. When you first walk in, you'd think it's a tiny space with some walking room only next to the open kitchen. But when you walk to the back, it opens up into multiple rooms of sizeable tables. It's got its own vibe that makes it stand out from other restaurants. Assessment/Plan: The burgers here are solid. Tasty, filling, and not terribly expensive. I don't think anyone will tell you it's the best burger out there, but it's better than most diner burgers and the variety of choices is what really reels you in. The restaurant is also a nice spot for some casual hangs over beers and fries if you don't want a full meal. If you're here with a group, my recommendation is to get a few different burgers so you can slice and dice 'em for everyone to try. It'll take a few visits to really get through the menu. read more

The restaurant seems small when entering the bar area, but is actually quite large and spacious with two other separate seating areas in the back as well as outdoor seating. The service was friendly, attentive, and really fast as well. I ordered the mac-n-cheese burger with waffle fries and my friend ordered the east sider burger with onion rings. These burgers are not a light smash burger style patty: they are heaping rounds of meat topped very generously with fixings. My burger was near perfect and exactly what I needed: juicy, a perfect medium, a soft and fluffy bun and tons of cheesy mac-n-cheese that turned into leftovers. My only complaint was that the mac-n-cheese was on the saltier side. We shared the sides and found the onion rings to be delicious and crispy, but the waffle fries were a let down being that they were bland. Overall, this was a great experience that just hit the spot. The menu does run on the pricier side, but the portion sizes are also huge. My friend did not finish half of his burger, and we took most of the sides home as well. Two people could probably order a side of fries to share and be satisfied with just that. read more

The burger joint is typically not where you'd want to have brunch, and starting off your day with a fat juicy burger is probably not ideal, but it was one of the few restaurants around him I found that looked better than the other surrounding options. The restaurant is in the basement level, so expect to go down a flight to stairs to get to this restaurant. I ordered the Chicken Truffle Mac 'N Cheese Wrap ($17), which consisted chopped up chicken tenders with Truffle Mac 'N Cheese & Bacon, wrapped in Flour Tortilla. This was surprisingly not too heavy on the cheese and tasted great! My friend got The Goat ($18.50), which was topped with goat cheese, sauteed mushrooms, grilled onions & pesto. He enjoyed it, despite it not being the most ideal first meal to start his day. Service for the most part is standard. Will check on you often enough and refill your water glass. We stayed for about two hours, where they were definitely in no rush turning the tables over. A little too lax as we almost walked out without paying. Oops. read more
