Display at the FOX25 Zip Trip, downtown Everett

This is one review I've been looking forward to writing. I first learned about 8/10 Bar & Grille at the FOX25 ZipTrip on a Fri morn in downtown Everett. After talking to the owner, Rich Sasso, I told him I'd probably check out the restaurant "sooner rather than later." Well, my brother just came in from out of town and I took both he, and my mother there, less than a few hours later, and I'm glad I did. Now, I write this review, and give it 5 stars, not as an aficionado of "fine Italian dining" but, simply, as a guy who likes Italian food and has eaten at a LOT of restaurants in a LOT of different places. 1. While the 8/10 is ironically ensconced between 3-4 taquerias, the outside will fade away the moment you step inside. While not large, it makes good use of its space. It avoids the fake Italian decorations that try to make you think you're in Italy. Instead, you'll find a pleasant assortment of Sinatra/Rat Pack era photos gracing the walls with Sinatra music playing in the background. 2. While not a drinker, I know a good, well-stocked bar when I see one. It's a long bar, too, with 3 TV's and, at present, the kind of bartender who seems glad to see you there and makes sure you know you're welcome back. Whether it was a coincidence, or not, the owner was there, as well and, coming from a family business, that's a big plus to me, as well. 3. The menu is full of all kinds of options and, for a very reasonable price, portions are large. They even have a separate "wing menu" with wing creations like "Parmesan & Garlic" and "Hawaiian." The sauce on the fried artichokes was a little too lemony for my taste but that can always be adjusted. Otherwise, we had a great late lunch and found it so pleasurable we stayed 3 hours (only because it wasn't full at that time ;) ) As for dessert, stay tuned! 4. The waitress was pleasant and very accomodating, the owner and bartender friendly, the prices and portions were excellent and the food was delicious. What more can you ask for? Valet Parking? Fend for yourself! ;)

Great little neighborhood spot. Looks like a total dive on the outside, but has a really nice wooden bar, and simple decor with tables with checker cloth on the inside. They have a great staff friendly waitresses and bartenders. I been told if I follow them on twitter they put their specials and other things on there. I brought my little brother here for a early birthday dinner last weekend. As always the staff was friendly and efficient. They have great customer service. The burgers are amazingly good. My two favorite is the and the blue cheese burger, those things are monsters good luck trying to finish it (I'll post a pic), and my brothers favorite the 8/10 burger, bacon, BBQ sauce, and caramelized onions. The sweet potato fries are great and additive and I only end up having a few. I actually never had a cocktail here, since I tend to carry out, and been here for lunch. They also have awesome pizzas. I plan to try their pasta dishes just haven't gotten around to it yet. My only compliant is I ordered out for the wings and they tough and undercooked. I was waiting a bit for my food so I don't know if they rushed or what. That has been my only compliment about them and I eaten here multiple times. Also love that they are very affordable.

Cafe Amaro....No Bene!…read more North End is one of my favorite Boston neighborhoods for Italian food especially Pizza. But this time, not so much! We walked in here on a Sunday afternoon and stopped at Cafe Amaro since they had open tables. The restaurant is very small probably about 10 or so tables. We sat right up against the kitchen which was warm since it was a bit chilly outside. After about 5-8 minutes went by our server came over and we asked to sample 2 glasses of wine. They were not good at all. After tasting one more we finally landed on the Chianti. We then waited longer to place our order which was the Prosciutto and Fig pizza. I also ordered a soda water with lemon which never came. Note: there are 2 servers and I believe 1 speaks English but I am not 100% sure. Once our server finally came over my husband had to remind him of the soda water which he proceeded to say "we only have large bottles." Ok, thanks for letting me know since the other server/busser did not. Does he work here? Does he know the menu? Why wouldn't he tell me this the first place? Our pizza finally came and even after ordering it well done it was still floppy and flimsy to the point when everytime we went to pick up the slice everything fell off...UGH! I don't know how in the North End this place gets by or survives? Maybe they were having an off day? I do see other reviews that had better experiences than ours. Maybe they were short on staff? If that was the case then say something because I probably would've had more patience and understanding if this was the case. BTW, Our server NEVER came over after ordering our wines and pizza. He never asked "how is everything?" NEVER... I also rarely give one/two stars to restaurants but this was despicable and I really hope this is not their norm. All I have to say is there are so many other better restaurants in the North End to go to, but Cafe Amaro is not one of them.

They are extremely close together with tight walking space so just beware of that. I went on a Saturday afternoon around 3pm and there was no wait. However, you are able to make a reservation online. I ordered a margarita pizza for an appetizer which was my favorite part of the meal. The sauce was on the sweeter side and there was a perfect amount of mozzarella cheese. For entrees, we shared the meatballs and the rigatoni bolognese. We weren't the biggest fans of the meat sauce in the bolognese, however it's just personal preference. The service was a little slow because there was one waiter to all 10 tables. He was friendly though and our food was made fast. I highly recommend for a cozy dinner, the margarita pizza is a must order!!

I ordered the pistachio martini and it was delicious -- smooth, slightly nutty, and really well done. For dinner, I had the carbonara and can't say enough good things, top notch. Even though the place is small, the staff was super attentive and made us feel well taken care of. A great spot for an easy, fun date night.

The outdoor seating was intimate however it was between 2 buildings so there was no breeze. Our server, David, was probably roasting in the heat but he always spoke to us with a smile on his face and worked so hard the whole night. We ordered: -Burrata: 2 large servings- 1 for each of us. It was very light and tasty. -*** Crispy Pork Belly***: This was new and totally stole the show. It literally melted in your mouth; you didn't have to chew it. I would come back here just to get that again. -Lobster risotto: a very generous portion of lobster. I would have preferred the sauce to be a little thicker but my boyfriend absolutely loved it. -Bolognese: pasta was cooked al dente (which I love). It was a great pasta-to-sauce ratio! I would have loved some bigger chunks of meat but the sauce was super flavorful. My favorite meal is bolognese and I was very pleased with this. PS: this restaurant does not do desserts or coffee. We walked down the street to modern pastry afterwards.
