Great food, can't recommend the macadamia nut pancakes with Macnilla sauce enough! Arrive early, I usually get there 20-30 minutes before open and never an issue. Arrived late once and it can become a very long wait.

I ordered the full stack (3 pancakes) of Ube Pancake w/ coconut ube sauce, the full stack Mac nut pancake w/ Macnilla sauce, the Makawowie Burrito, & Short Rib moco. I called in for takeout before I went to Safeway for some water...

and snacks and headed over from the Kaanapali area, and still had to wait a while. Turns out there was no indoor dining that day and things were taking a bit longer than usual due to a maintenance issue in the restaurant. We picked it up and headed to the Banyan Tree for a picnic and boy was it was with the wait! Both pancakes were scrumptious and he rest of my family really enjoyed the makawowie and moco and said they were both tasty. The only thing we were disappointed with was that the restaurant gave us a short stack (2 pancakes) of both pancake orders instead of the full stack we ordered, and the Makawowie Burrito really isn't a burrito. My sun was expecting a breakfast burrito type dish and it was all the ingredients in a take out container - no tortilla anywhere to be found. I think they need to rename that dish as it gives a false impression of what you are expecting to get.

I was referred to this place by fellow Yelper & local HI resident, Fran C., and this place didn't disappoint! I ordered the full stack (3 pancakes) of Ube Pancake w/ coconut ube sauce , the full stack Mac nut pancake w/ Macnilla sauce, the Makawowie Burrito, & Short Rib moco. Last time I was in Maui, I waited 24 hours for this food!! This time, my family and I were one of the firsts in line to eat INSIDE! We were here on a Sunday. Lined up by around 0630ish-0645ish. We got seated around 0715. The inside is exactly what you probably expect. A small yet comfy space to enjoy your eats. They can only take a few parties at a time to eat inside but if you're ordering take out, I suggest skipping the line and going to the front to let someone know or try calling. ⁣⁣⁣ We broke our fast with:⁣⁣⁣ - Da Bene Trio (Crab, salmon and kalua pork benedict!)⁣ - 808 Grindz Moco (Tender and juicy!)⁣⁣⁣ - Maui Style Croissanwich ⁣ - Ube Pancakes with a side of mac nut sauce (Must get for all you pancake/ ube lovers!!! Food: 4.5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Overall: One of the best places to eat breakfast on the island in my opinion. Would I come back: A resounding YES. It's one of my favorite spots in Maui. The extended review... Food: Pancakes with Macnilla sauce - 5/5 - Now this is how pancakes should be done. The sauce is soooooo yum. Sugary but that's how I like it. I believe it's likely vanilla pudding with Mac nuts in it. Loco Moco- 4/5 - A very yummy Loco Moco they got here. Can't say no to this favorite local dish. Service: 4/5 - Very friendly service. Called in my order and the server was super nice. Ambiance: 3/5 - Although I didn't eat indoors it is a bit dark inside.

AMAZING local and homey restaurant perfect for a casual breakfast / lunch! Get the mac nut pancakes with the mac-nilla sauce -- you will not regret it!!! My boyfriend and I arrived for brunch at noon and put our name down on the list outside. The interior only has ~8 tables so definitely be prepared for a bit of a wait; we ended up waiting about half an hour before we finally got seated and that was with just a few groups of people ahead of us. Since they post the menu outside, we knew exactly what we wanted by the time we got in so we could order right away. I got the mac nut pancakes with mac-nilla sauce on top, and my boyfriend got the breakfast for champions which came out to be THREE plates of food. First of all, the mac-nilla sauce here is PERFECTION; it paired perfectly with the mac nut pancakes and was just the right amount of sweetness, creaminess, etc. The breakfast of champions was well worth the money ($20) as it came with several different types of meat, eggs, hash browns, and a waffle with the same mac-nilla sauce. This was the perfect amount of sweet & savory that we wanted, and we were both stuffed by the end of the meal.

What a great local spot! 808 Grindz was not on my radar until a friend recommended this place. Per others' recommendations, we ordered take out in hopes to avoid the long wait for dine-in. I called around 8AM, placed an order, and was told it would be a 30 minute wait + that they take cash only. Around the 30 minute mark, I drove over and saw a long line out the door. There were no clear signs or instructions on where to pick up food - I went inside, which was very small, and waited awkwardly by the kitchen entrance until a server asked what I was there for. The food was not ready yet, and it took another 20 minutes. I understand they may be short staffed, but if they say it'll take a certain amount of time, it would be nice for the food to be ready by then esp. since it's a to-go order. Nonetheless, the food overall was worth it. We ordered the mac nut pancakes, ube pancakes, short rib moco, and crab cake. Came out to about $50. It was more than enough food for the two of us, and we happily ate leftovers the next morning. The pancakes were the star of the show. The mac nut pancakes were actually mac nut flavored and had mac nut sauce on top. The ube pancakes were made in the same manner. Highly recommend 10/10. The short rib moco was tasty as well, but the meat was a bit chewier than we would have liked. The crab cake tasted pretty generic, but it was still a great addition to our meal.

A local favorite of ours when we're in Maui. First off, if you don't like waiting, order to-go. The lines to eat here can be very long. It is a small restaurant with about 8 tables or so. There is a sign in sheet in front of the entrance. Get here at opening, or you might be waiting a while. The pancakes here with their Mac-Nilla sauce are off the chart. We got the Blueberry, Banana, & Macadamia nut pancakes, all with the Mac-nilla sauce, Local fried rice deluxe, 6 oz steak and eggs, and the Steak-Moco. All were soo good! If you like Loco Moco, you'll love the Steak Moco, it's just a notch above. They offer other food that is just as a good, but this is what we had. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Restaurant is clean and cozy. Give this place a try and don't be discouraged by the line. Happy Nom Nom!

Don't let the long line intimidate you (and there will be a line!) when you first pull up. I fully believe it's worth the wait. When you first arrive, you put your name on a list, and wait to be called for seating. The restaurant itself is very tiny, and I'm almost positive the one waitress I encountered served double duty as a cook as well. However, they do tend to turn the tables over pretty quickly. I had to order one of the Moco Loco plates, a Hawaiian staple. My companion and I also split one of the Maple Bacon and Macnut pancakes with a side of the homemade Mac-nilla sauce. I really enjoyed my shredded pork Moco loco. The gravy was tasty and they added the perfect amount. My egg was cooked just like I asked for. The portion was huge - I was stuffed by the time we were done. The pancake was also amazingly delicious and super fluffy, and the mac-nilla sauce was the perfect complement. Overall, I highly recommend checking out this Hawaiian staple restaurant. The service was fairly good considering, and the food combined with the price made it one of the best valued meals I had in Maui.

If there's one restaurant you can't miss on Maui, it's this. Their menu has so many varieties of loco moco, but the employee at the register said their favorite was the Shredded Pork Moco, so we went with that and it did not disappoint! The slow roasted pork is soft and tender while also having some crisp edges that's a satisfying texture with the fried egg and gravy. The portion is huge and only had half for lunch and saved the rest. Since my hotel didn't have a microwave I ate this cold after a night out and it was still good LOL. I also tried the Local Fried Rice Deluxe and it was delicious as well, as expected and included plenty of ham and Portuguese sausage. Their items are super affordable for the portions versus a lot of other brunch cafes. Wait time was about 15 min for the two dishes. This is located in a strip mall type of plaza next to FoodLand in Lahaina and parking was hassle-free.

They open at 7am, some people are out here waiting by 6:40am. There's a sign in sheet to write how many people are in your party and you log in the time you arrive. We got here at 7:15am. There's a good size parking lot/parking spaces, however, the dining space inside is very limited. You can save 30-40 min wait by calling ahead and picking up the food. We sat down at 8am. They had only one server and one cook, but it's worth the wait! They keep the inside very nice and cold. We ordered the spam moco with the fried rice and the macadamia nut pancake with the Mac-nilla sauce. We got the iced Kona coffee! (They provide Kona ice cubes so it doesn't get watered down-- love it!!) I absolutely loved the food! I love how the gravy isn't too salty, you get most of the salt already from the spam and it blends so well with the fried rice and eggs! I really wanted to try the short rib moco (I'll try calling back tmrw to see if they have it) And the pancakes were delicious, I'm obsessed with the mac-nilla sauce. I NEED IT IN A BOTTLE. It's not too sweet, which is perfect because you can actually finish the whole thing. $37 for all the items we got! Pretty worth it to me! Some tips: - Cash Only - Dine In if you're not in a hurry - Call in and order take out if you want to skip the line! Support the local businesses! They work hard and are so friendly!!

Paid by card. 808 Grindz is located on a small strip in a parking lot and offers a lot of plaza parking. I went in on a Friday at 9:30 AM with 6 people and was told the wait would be 30 minutes to dine in or 30 minutes for takeout. My party and I decided to dine in and wait. We waited almost 2 hours!!! Omg. Luckily we got some poke and snacks at Foodland while we waited. I got the mac nut waffle and ube waffle and thought both were really good. However, not almost 2 hours good. I wish we would've gotten it to go. The staff was nice but only a daughter and father working to take orders, serve, and bus. Were they cooking also? Haha. Overall I'd recommend this place but would not wait that long to dine in. I would recommend taking to go or go after 11:30 AM.

This place is super famous and you can notice it very easily once you see the wait list. People started writing their name from 6:30am. 1 hour wait is very common for this place. The place seems like an old gem. Food is significantly lower in price compared to any other place I have seen in Maui. But must say they are maintaining their quality too. My only disappointment was seeing very limited vegetarian options when looking for something hot and savory. Ended up taking just one item as to-go. That too with 40 mins wait. Oh and they only take cash.

Another great find in Maui! We almost didn't come here, but somehow found our way in when we were in the area. We tried an eggs benedict, locomoco, and ube pancake. The ube pancakes were delicious! We got the 2 stack, which was plenty for my sister and I. The ube cream on top wasn't too sweet and had a great taste. My favorite pancake of all time! I know there are a few places in SF that sell ube pancakes and they're pretty good, but this one was just amazing. The locomoco was also one of the best locomocos I've had on the island. The meat patty had a delightful texture to it as well as taste. The sauce was also delicious, and had the perfect level of salt-- not too salty. Perfect. The eggs benedict was your standard eggs benedict. Decent.

Would you make a 55 mile round trip for breakfast, when there are dozens of alternatives closer? We were staying at the Maui Banyan in Kihei near the border with Wailea. Drove 40 miles round trip to 808 Grindz Cafe. Parking lot has signs limited parking to 1 hour. 9:17am Sunday, put our names on the wait list, with maybe 30 people waiting outside the restaurant. 10:07am, 50 minutes later, our names called by Keiea dressed in a purple pink dress, with red Hoka shoes, and purple strands in her hair. Color coordinated head to toe! 7 tables, 4 of which seat only 2 people. 10:32am our food arrives, 25 minutes after being seated, mainly because a party of 6 was ahead of us in ordering food. $17 ono fish benedict with crab fondue. No wonder they didn't list the too high price on the menu, but only appeared as a daily special. Spinach and grilled ono covered with overeasy eggs, with fried shredded potatoes on the side. Very little crab says the wife for this delicious but overpriced dish. $11 shredded pork loco moco, tasty well cooked shreds of pork meat covered by two over easy eggs, in a delicious gravy. The meat is to die for, it's that good, with great value for the buck. 10:46am we get out of there. Signs say cash only, but there is an option to pay by check. Not enough cash? Prepare to sharpen up your dishwashing skills. Despite the sign saying 1 hour limit of parking, our car is still there almost two hours later. No tow truck in sight. First and only time drove 55 miles round trip for breakfast.

I had the Portuguese Moco and my spouse and children had the rainbow French Toast. All were delicious. We got there right near the time they opened so we did not have a wait, but before we left there were already a number of parties waiting for a seat. -Remember to write your name on the sign in sheet so you will be seated in the correct order! Coffee for the adults and Cocoa (hot chocolate with whipped creme) for the children. Our waiter always kept our coffee topped off. Portuguese Moco - white rice as a base, with Portuguese sausage and brown gravy topped with an egg and green onions....as they say....when in Rome. I have to say, I was sceptical about rice and the brown gravy....but, my scepticism was unwarranted because the breakfast was delicious - not something I would eat everyday, but it was good. Rainbow French Toast - Hawaiian Rainbow Sweetbread served with fruit..... the name says it all and it stood up to its name. It is worth the wait! read more

Love, love, love a place that has great food and awesome friendly employees! I wish I got the waitress's name that helped us because she made our experience OVER DA TOP and well deserved of some huge praise! We waited about an hour to get seated. Please come to NJ!!! This little spot was off the charts good!! It's a small joint, and it's first come first serve. I had the Moco loco breakfast which is spam, 2 eggs, over white rice and brown sauce. Fantastic!!! My honey got the Pork Benedict with Nutella pancakes. He also loved his!!! The staff are so friendly and super cool, so are their prices... I highly recommend! read more

Found this place online while we were in lahaina and headed in for brunch. We had to wait 30 minutes but it was well worth it. I had an amazing omelette and the pancakes with dream-nilla sauce were to die for. They had run out of bearnaise and the atmosphere was nothing special, but food is top notch. read more

Good service, good food, good prices. Either show up 20 minutes before opening, or be prepared to wait 45 minutes to an hour. There are only 26 seats in the place, so be comfortable with cozy. The price and flavor is worth the wait. read more

I called in my order and they said it would be ready in one hour. So I showed up in one hour and waited for an ADDITIONAL 90 minutes for a total of 2 1/2 hours! Why did I wait? Because I had already paid for 6 dishes, a total of $90.00 and I had no way of getting my money back. They don't allow you to come inside the building and they don't come out to update you on your order. Took my order back to the condo only to discover that they had given us an extra plate that I did not order, was charged for, and paid. Although the food was good, no food is worth a 2 1/2 hour wait. BTW - everyone else in line was also complaining that they had been there for more than an hour after they were told to be there. read more

Highly recommend the macadamia nut pancakes with their house sauce. I'd honestly pick their pancakes over Gazebo's. Pretty close tbh though. Also recommend the spam moco with fried rice! This place is cash only and a little hard to find since it's literally a hole in the wall behind a plaza. There's minimal parking so I'd walk if you can. But they have an extremely friendly staff! A little treasure hole-in-the-wall restaurant. If you blink you'll miss it. I've passed this restaurant many times, without ever noticing its existence. This morning however, we had some time and decided to Yelp places nearby that would satisfy our raging hunger without making our wallets weep. We were surprised to see someone's shared image of the outside view of the restaurant ... as the structure was a dead giveaway for us. The food looked good and the price seemed reasonable, so we headed that way. Quite a popular restaurant. When we got there there were 3 other little groups waiting to be seated. An older couple whispered to me "better go inside and put your name on the list. It gets busy in the morning." Walking in, the place is small, with only a few tables to accommodate hungry customers. Somehow, the flow works. Sometimes you get a small line outside, but after dining here, I'd gladly wait more than 30min for a place to sit. This isn't quite the place for a large family gathering, but that's part of the aura of this quaint little place. Once in, we are greeted by a man any local would automatically recognize as "Uncle," who bussed tables and "Aunty," who took your name down for seating as well as your order. Uncle was very happy to assist my 3yr old son order some milk. Lets talk about the menu ... Caraaayyyzzzyaaayyy Just kidding. However its pretty amazing. Pages and pages of local kine awesomeness all in one perfect menu. Every kind of local version of "moco's" and eggs benedict you can imagine and even if you think of something better, you're welcome to custom create one. I chose the Kalua Hash "Bene" (beh-neh) as they call it w/potatoes, my son had a short stack with their (holy-crazy-wild-moly's) macadamia-vanilla or mac-nilla sauce and my partner had a the 1lb steak and eggs. First of all --- that mac-vanilla sauce? HEAVEN ON A PANCAKE. And the pancake itself, truly delicioso! You gotta try it! Its amazeballs. The steak? Let me tell you, they cut it into nice sized pieces so you're not wasting your time sitting and cutting, the look of it? Looked like a dry flavorless piece of meat. Fork it into your mouth, however, and you're in for a crazy surprise. The meat was deceitful in looks as it was SOOO soft and tasty. I will never judge a steak by its cover again!! And the Kalua Hash Bene? Scrumptious!!! The price?? Even better! Since landing on Maui it was my main goal to have an amazing Loco Moco. After scouring yelp and seeing all the pictures my wife and I were so glad to find this amazing gem. They took loco moco to a whole new level by having it combined with things like shredded pork, lau lau, etc... Per the servers recommendation I had the pork Lau Lau moco special. It was seriously the best thing I have ever had. My wife had the shredded pork moco and it was amazing as well. the place is small and the wait can be a while if you catch a bad time, bit overall the service is on point and the food is amazing! Forgot to add in the pancakes! My wife and I had the Chocolate chip banana pancakes with vanilla macadamia sryup. It's a must have if you go, even though we were stuffed we still managed to finish it all. read more

When my wife and I went on our honeymoon 8 years ago we discovered this spot and ate breakfast there almost every morning. We were finally able to bring the entire family back to Maui last week and they are still the best breakfast in town. The Mac-Nilla sauce on the pancakes is always the highlight for us. I'm a big fan of the burrito (which is more like a giant pile of goodness with some heat) and I also went with the MowieWowie for something new. All in all we've eaten here every chance we could and have never been disappointed read more

This little hole in the wall was delish, hit the spot, worth the wait. First time trying a loco moco and won't be my last. Only a few servers so when you sign in you have to poke your head in so you don't get passed up. My boyfriend and I went straight to 808 Grindz Cafe for breakfast after we got off the ferry from Lanai. We were starving, I was craving local food (I just moved to Nevada), and this place was walkable from the ferry drop-off spot. However, we waited a really long time to get in and by the time we got in, I noticed that the servers were not using the tables situated in the middle of the seating area and I could not understand why. If they had used the tables in the middle, the long line of people waiting outside could have been seated much sooner and the long ling shortened tremendously. It's a first come, first serve restaurant so they could not have been saving it for other parties but as we were about to leave, a very large party comes in and was seated in those tables. There were people who came after us that were still outside waiting to be seated and I did not recognize anyone from the large party who could have been waiting too. That oddity aside, the food itself was so good! I ordered the Vegetarian Deelite omelette with hasbrowns, my boyfriend ordered the Vegetarian Deelite with hasbrowns as well as a side order of egg whites and grilled potatoes, and we shared a short stack of blueberry pancakes. As a vegetarian, I am often disappointed in vegetarian omelettes because they lack depth of flavor but was pleasantly surprised with this particular omelette. It was so tasty and not dripping with oil. However, my omelette was a bit runny as it wasn't thoroughly cooked through (not a fan of runny eggs of any type) but I was so hungry I didn't want to bother asking them to cook it through all the way and having to wait for my food to come back. The blueberry pancakes were so moist and the blueberries were spread evenly throughout that it made for very good pancakes (how can you go wrong anyway?). 808 Grindz Cafe is located in an odd spot but certainly served us delicious breakfast. The prices are very reasonable, adding to the allure of the place. If you don't mind waiting 30-45 minutes for breakfast, make your way over here for a simple local breakfast that doesn't break the bank. read more

Amazing breakfast and very affordable. Recommend taking the food to-go if the line is long, as it's easy to find a grassy spot in the parking lot to eat. My husband and I each had Moco Locos; he with a pork chop, and I had with shredded pork. Very tasty albeit a tad bit salty and I love salt. The pancakes with the mac sauce were a nice compliment for a savory and sweet breakfast. I do recommend checking your food before walking away, as my husband's dish wasn't how we ordered it. I'm docking a star for this reason, as we ordered fried rice & they gave us white rice. Also, our name was initially on the list. This was our first time here from California These pancakes were the BEST I've ever had they were the macadamia nut and my husband had the blueberry my daughter the Nutella they were all OUTstanDing such great customer service it's a small place and there's a bit of a waite but there so quick to get ur food out and it's so great tasting it's so worth it i would highly recommend any one on vacation to go here it's a musT you will never ever see another pancake in the same way one word to describe there food gReat!!!!!!!! Solid Mocos! Here is what we ordered - Portuguese Moco - fantastic! Mixed the over easy eggs, sausage and rice was great...we had kimchi from MonkeyPod and mixed that in there...a whole new level of delicious! My friends and I visited from SoCal for the weekend. Our original morning plans failed so needed a breakfast place. The wait was pretty long, about an hour, more so because of slow turnaround than long lines. But. The price is right and the food is great. I had their loco moco and mac nut pancakes with vanilla sauce. Everything was wonderful comfort food. Service was great too, everyone was so nice. We came here at 7.30 a.m. - there was no line up, but it getting busy around 8 a.m. Average price - $8.08 per big dish. This popular little place is tucked into the corner of a small shopping center. The line of people waiting outside is a clue that you might want to see what all the fuss is about. We went there twice last week. The pancakes are fluffy and delicious, and you must try their secret recipe mac-nilla sauce. (I asked for the recipe and got nothing, but I tried.) We ordered the sauce on the side, and the waitress cautioned us that we don't get as much sauce that way, but wow, we are glad we got it on the side after seeing how much sauce comes on the pancakes if you just order them the regular way, with the sauce on top. The egg dishes are great too, and the servers are friendly and quick. We will be back again soon. read more

Found Grindz on Yelp and decided to stop over for breakfast. The wait was 30 minutes. It was nice to sit outside but it got too hot after 15 minutes. I ordered spam, eggs and toast and my husband ordered pancakes. It was like eating at home. Honest food. The location is out of the norm but easy to find. Hard to park tho. The space is small but charming. Its a family business and I love that. Great place to crab some simple food. Not a great place if your in a hurry or want really nice surroundings. NO KA 'OI! This is one of my top 3 favorite restaurants to eat at whenever we visit Maui. The night before our last dine-in here, my girlfriend and I had dinner at Monkeypod in Kaanapali and were very, very disappointed. The next day, we redeemed ourselves by having an onolicious brunch at 808 Grindz Cafe! The restaurant is family owned and ran, and the staff is very friendly. They turn tables over pretty quick, so don't mind the wait. However, remember to move your car around because 1-hour parking is enforced in the plaza's lot - you will get cited. Plates are a good portion for one. We recommend ordering the Local Fried Rice Deluxe or the 808 Grindz Moco. Mahalo! read more

So i heard about this place and needed to taste for myself....i was told very long waits but totally worth it....so we can here around 8:30....and met a whole bunch of friendly peeps both local and tourists like us....it took over an hour so if you're in a hurry, furgitaboutit...go to McDonalds down the street...which will kinda suck but you deserve it by being impatient....remember you are on frickin vaykay and patience is a virtue!! Ok, so to the food....we ordered a short stack w coconut syrup ...omg!! So good !! Each of us had a moco which is a rice, with some meat and brown gravy and a couple eggs on top....so the GF had a kalua pork moco w poached eggs n white rice....sooo good!!! I had dakine Portuguese sausage moco w fried rice....lil bit too salty w da gravy...so next time i go with white rice....island sausage had a different flavor n texture than the ones we get in Cali...sooo ono, in fact i had to buy a t-shirt that said Ono-licious on it!! With 360 panoramic views, and a wonderful breeze, we listened as Gabriel explained the various chocolates we were sampling and I thoroughly enjoyed each and everyone. Once back at the shop, we had the opportunity to purchase chocolate and also try a variety of items from their café menu if we wanted (for additional charge). That passion followed him through years of working in the Safeway bakery and continued to grow with every loaf, pastry, and dessert he made. Years later, David and his family made the courageous decision to leave California, where we grew up together, and follow God's calling to Lahaina. As a lifelong friend, watching that leap of faith blossom into Papi's Ohana Bakery has been one of the greatest joys of my life. Knowing the story behind the name makes it even more special. Best breakfast spot on the west side! The banana macnilla pancakes are the best! They have a great selection of mocos and it's easy to customize dishes if you feel the need to be adventurous! Their 808 plates are the cheapest in town and the selection of eggs benedict add a nice twist to the menu! Very creative, local grindz selection, with a great family atmosphere! Get there early to beat the line! If you happen to catch them at a busy time, especially on a holiday, DON'T go there when you're hungry. Work up an appetite by putting your name on the waitlist, go cruise down Front Street, go shopping, and come back in time for them to call your name to be seated! After multiple disappointing breakfasts/restaurants we have finally come across this little gem. We visited this morning for breakfast. Service was amazing, all the staff were so friendly and welcoming. We were offered coffee during our wait for the table (all of 5 mins). My husband had the cinnamon french toast, 3 eggs and bacon whilst I had the choc chip banana pancakes with the mac - nilla sauce and a side of bacon. It was absolutely delicious and at a great price. I literally cannot fault it. I think we will be returning daily for breakfasts for the rest of our honeymoon! This is a brilliant establishment, great food and great staff... I'd give this a 4.5 but rounded up because my only gripe is minor. Great local place with excellent prices. As with most highly rated, affordable places, wait time is long but worth it. Service was great and literally the whole family works here which is awesome. It's definitely a family vibe. Only complaint is how long it took to get food. I didn't time it but it was at least 30 minutes in addition to the 1.5 hours waiting for a table. My wife and I arrived around 8:15am during the week to give others an idea of the wait time. Came with a party of 11 and waited 45 mins, but it was worth the wait. Was really looking forward to trying anything moco. Ended up with the corn beef patty moco with fried rice. The gravy was delicious. Also tried their macadamia pancakes. The pancake house sauce was spot on and the cakes were nice and fluffy. Everything was well cooked but also well served. I see the loco moco and other plates come out and they all look so good!....this place is small and there us usually a line out the door. Wanted to get a real taste of Maui so wanted to check what the hype was all about.. When we got there the Line was packed with people waiting we waited an hour or so to get a table. The Establishment was a very local Hawaiian feel the staff was nice and courteous. Can I do 6 stars?? OMG. Great food , very welcoming Aloha from owner and wait staff complete with Christmas music and corny jokes and very ( did I say very) reasonable prices. Tried here for the first time with my roomie. Their food is seriously amazing. I got the smores pancakes and my friend got the bacon mushroom onion omelet special. We both left there completely stuffed. Their portions are generous as well as their prices. & Their staff was SOO SWEET and friendly as well. This is my second favorite loco moco stop amongst Oahu and Maui. I am not a big fan of the barbeque flavored gravy topping but I can deal with that since it was a home made one. There was a 30-45 minutes of wait to get seated but both the host and the server were nice and down to earth people. Once we got seated food arrived quickly.
