Amazing random find but love that they have Kalua Pork and all the meats were juicy and had a good amount of fat which I love too, very friendly staff when ordering take out too!

Came here to get some dinner after work and wanted to try some really good Hawaiian food. Got a combo plate that had beef ribs, kalbi and bbq chicken. The plate also came with rice and mac salad. The cost was about $20 and it came with a lot of food! The food was made fresh to order and was so delicious. I even had a ton of leftovers! Would come back to try their poke next time!

We stopped by for breakfast, and we were AMAZED! This sweet little unassuming hole in the wall is run by the most sweetest and hardworking staff. The food is super fresh and served piping hot. The meat is actually meaty and not fatty, and the Mac salad is the best Mac salad I've had. It's also such a clean joint too!! So appreciate a clean restaurant. Such a fan!! Will be back for sure

808 Local Hawaiian Grill has been on my radar for awhile, but I haven't really had much reason to come all the way to Orange for it. Well, I was finally in the area, so why not? When I see beef ribs on the menu at a Hawaiian place, it's a pretty straightforward decision for me! Although the ribs don't look like they have a ton of meat on them, once you get it off the bone there's actually a decent amount of meat. The marinade they put on these things is so good! Has a nice hint of sweetness and is very flavorful. Of course, any trip to a Hawaiian spot can't be complete without a Spam musubi! Their teriyaki Spam musubi is solid. Staff here are friendly, no complaints on my end. Overall, worth the trip. It's not Hawaii, but it's good enough!

100/5!!! SUCH a good poke & Hawaiian plate spot. I've come here multiple times for poke and it never disappoints. food: I ordered the poke plate, with CALI HI & Spicy Garlic poke. CALI HI tastes like a California roll, and spicy garlic is for all the soy sauce and garlic lovers. quality of the poke was perfect. no complaints. I also ordered Hawaiian bbq chicken plate. the Mac salad was SO GOOD. I just wish there was some sauce for the chicken! service: they're always so nice to me and helpful when I come. ambiance: small for sure. only about 8 seats inside. definitely good for a quick, very casual sit down.

The food was so delicious and authentic, the gentleman at the counter who took our order was very knowledgeable and friendly Ambience is very mellow and relax. Good environment and you can sit outside and enjoy your delicious meal. Definitely returning every opportunity that arises Highly recommended for a bite to eat in a delicious way at that

I love a Hawaiian plate lunch, but 808 Local Hawaiian Grill was not it for me. The Hawaiian bbq chicken was over handled, cut up to bits, and super dry. The rice was even hard and dry. But most offensive was the spinach salad dressed with...Hoisin or oyster sauce?!? Ay yo, Hoisin sauce isn't a salad dressing. Ugh, why do you ruin perfectly good greens like that?! Really weird choice. Ambiance was so drab and dingy. I know my "808 local" aloha vibes, and this my friends, definitely wasn't it. And styrofoam containers?! Like it's 1988. I was only in this rundown area because I had a medical appointment somewhat nearby, but I definitely need not be back.

Huge disappointment! Was here a few weeks ago and ordered the BBQ chicken plate. Then I got so much food I had enough for a second meal. Full pieces of chicken. Went today and portions have shrunk so much, it barely counts as one meal. Chicken is now cubed and dry. I'll never go back. It sucks when both quality and quantity suffer and they have the never to charge the same price!!

This is a real COMMUNITY spot. It is serious business here. They have so much posted on the wall for what they do in collaboration with the community. And the poke is actual REAL good poke! Prices reflect the quality. Guys were super friendly too.

The plate/combo orders here are good, BUT Spam-Musubi is DISAPPOINTING!!!! Spam to rice ratio is horrible!

First the place is very small. Not the kind of place you can sit a really have lunch with a friend but if you work in a nearby business offices or the hospital I recommend calling in your order and then picking it up. Save you time and not having to wait outside since space is limited. However, the katsu!!! OmG!! some of the crispiest chicken I have ever had. I have tried so many before but this Katsu was so good. It was paired with spinach and Mac salad. Im very picky with my Mac salad and this one wasnt my fave but the hubby liked it. I also got two orders of the spam masubi. These were very thin sliced spam and they seemed very tiny ( like fit in the palm of my hand) I guess I expected bigger size?? idk, lol but like I said all the flavors were great! if your in the area definitely check this place out but dont forget to order ahead of time!

What I ordered: - Poke bowl with "poke my love" and "spicy garlic" flavors Each poke bowl comes with a base (rice, mixed green, etc.), two toppings (kimchi, yellow radish, etc.), and two poke flavors. All of their poke flavors are comprised of tuna, no other type of fish. The quality of their tuna is standard, not terrible. The flavors range from shoyu to creamier mayo versions. I typically go for the spicy garlic and add a creamy flavor for a nice contrast. Their poke flavors are a bit salty at times but never lacking in bold taste, the rice and toppings also help balance the saltiness out. If you're unsure what to pick, they give out samples!

so dummy yummyyyyyy! 808 is my favorite local spot for poke. although i can't compare it to poke from hawaii (i've never had the authentic stuff), i think the fish here is leagues ahead of its competitors in socal. poke has gotten so bastardized in the mainland that the poke is no longer poke, so a good place that serves it is few and far in between. anyways, i got the local flavor and spicy garlic with my go-to toppings of wonton chips and seaweed salad. flavors were good, but i was looking for a spicy kick to my tuna and it just wasn't there with the spicy garlic. rice was a lil overcooked and gooey, and some wonton chips were a lil stale. but by all means a knockout plate in the oc regardless. service was nice. i ordered by phone, and the guy who answered patiently listed out the flavors to me (i had no idea they had that many). ambiance feels kinda hole in the wall, but it's perfect considering that this place actually serves good food. wish the price was cheaper, but i'm willing to occasionally pay a hefty sum for good fish! portioning wasn't bad either since i can split it into two meals. ty 808!!

Sorry but as of right now the Orange store is currently having a change of leadership and we’re trying our hardest to have the store reopened, however in the meantime our sister store in Artesia is still open under the same name if you’re craving…

Ordered chicken katsu and didn't receive any sauce to go with it. Does that need to be ordered with the meal?

    Are they really closed?

Just rebranded/renamed. This is the new yelp page. https://www.yelp.com/biz/808-local-hawaiian-grill-orange?osq=local+hi+grill

Does this place offer catering portions?

    Yes we do .

Why are they closed now? I'm shocked 😱

I just ordered today 2/19 , not closed *edit* I see now it looks like they're changing they're name…

We both usually order the same thing every time she gets the salmon plate and I get the tuna and we've always enjoyed it enough to keep coming back. Today we noticed there was an option to add extra fish for $2.50, so we both paid for it. We also selected extra green onions, which is one of the free toppings they offer. When we got our food, it was immediately obvious that nothing was different. There wasn't any extra fish compared to what we normally receive, meaning we paid an extra $5 total for something we never got. On top of that, there were no green onions at all, despite specifically requesting extra. Mistakes happen, but it's frustrating to pay extra for add-ons that aren't included, especially when you're a returning customer. We weren't looking for anything unreasonable just the order we paid for. Hopefully they pay more attention to customizations in the future because this experience definitely left us disappointed and questioning if we want to continue coming back..

He specifically requested this place As a mom, I was honestly shocked -- he's been a picky eater since he was little, so finding something he actually loves is rare. Of course we had to try it‼ It was my first time trying a poke bowl, and the ordering style is similar to Chipotle. I chose a medium bowl for $15.5, which included 3 choices of fish. Since I'm doing keto, I picked salad as the base, with salmon, tuna, and shrimp. Everything tasted fresh and high quality. Their Japanese tofu soup was only $2.5 with unlimited refills, which felt like a great deal too. Honestly, I've passed by this place so many times before because it looks pretty low-key from the outside... but thanks to my picky eater leading the way, we accidentally discovered a hidden gem.

Their service tuna quality is also a little different and seems to be lower quality tuna. Their service has also been declining but tonight was the worst, especially the young lady that was working at 8 pm, Wednesday night on 7/29/26. She tried to stretch one scoop of salad into two medium salads. When I asked if she had more salad, she showed typical teen age attitude and she finally relented and asked for more salad. When she scooped the tuna, half of it didn't make it into the bowl and when I asked if she could add some tuna, she gave more attitude. She offered to take some tuna from the first bowl to add to the second bowl. Maybe she was having a bad day or maybe she should just get a different job...she's certainly not made for this one. Let's hope this is an off day for Pokinometry and their than quality and service improves.
