I've been a fan since they open at Irvine, their breads are good. When I heard their opening at Glendale I was so happy. I came in this morning at the time they open and guess what only 2 items are on display. This is quite a disappointment. I waited for at least 30 mins for them to bring out 2-3 more items. Their bread is impeccably delicious, but their staff is very incompetent. Specifically this one Filipino gentleman with the blonde hair. He doesn't seem to understand what customer service is. When someone asks for no ice in their drink because they have sensitive teeth, that means NO ICE... it's very simple, really. For example, my first encounter with him I asked for a mango coconut pearl drink with no ice, and with a standoffish attitude he goes "we don't do that." I let him know that they've done it for me before, but he refused. So I let him know, once again, that they've done it for me before and he reluctantly sold it to me the way I wanted. This continued every visit I had with him. I ordered today, same thing mango coconut pearl no ice, and he sold it to me with the same attitude. Except this time they snuck In the ice in my drink without me knowing. I've avoided this type of review because it sounds ridiculously annoying to review about no ice in the drink. But it's every time I encounter him, that I have an issue. He's always rude, never smiles and just seems unhappy to be there. I've been there, dude. If you don't like your job, don't work there. But I have to give this place nothing lower than a 3 star because their bread is so good! You have to try their brioche bread! And I feel like all of their breads have some type of rice cake flour or something bc the chewiness is so soft and rice cake-like! I love it! read more

I love 85 degrees. But today they run out of the bread that a lot of people was looking for "Brioche". I have gone to the Pasadena store and they always have bread available. No empty shelves or container of bread. Mind you it is only 8:00 pm and they close at 10:00pm. The cashier ask how was everything "I told her it is not fine because there were missing bread. This bakery was disappointing. The place was small and not much selection of pastry. The one in Pasadena is way better and the staff are much nicer. Also, I ordered a hot coffee and it was very and the coffee lead was a different material so it was hot too, so I wasn't able to drink it. They should do something about that. read more

The Chocolate Mousse cake is AMAZING! If you've ever enjoyed Chocolate Dobash cake from Kings bakery in Hawaii, it's similar, very light, not very sweet and mousse instead of frosting then dusted w dark chocolate cocoa type of powder. The best 85 Degrees by a long shot! I've been to the Koreatown location and the downtown location as well. The Glendale location had unbelievably soft pastries, and lots of variety. I love 85 bakery! This review is specifically for their sea salt tea. The first time I tried the sea salt black tea in their Alhambra location I fell in love with it. But for some reason the sea salt black tea in this location (Glendale) tastes very bland. So fun to grab my own baked goods! Great location too. There are so many goodies here. The workers were nice and answered my questions about the breads and pastries. It's always busy here and their breads run out quickly. Luckily, they bake and have fresh batches of goods ready every hour! It's open till late too! I came here for the first time two weeks ago to finally try the Glendale location. I went on a morning and it seemed almost too empty! Surprising. I ordered the marble taro slush and its amazing. The boba was soft and chewy. The slush wasnt too sweet and watery. It was pretty good. The cakes are a bit pricey and small compared to Portos nearby. I will try it sometime. Hope this place doeant close down because I like having an 85 Degree Bakery near my work. read more

As a foodie I was avoiding this place now for a while. The pastries looked decadent and I ate almost everything that i bought already. I really was mostly interested in the cakes in the case. Beautiful!!! I bought two tiny ones and they were incredible. It is nice to have a bakery close by that you can get in and out of in 5 minutes with dessert. My love for this place is endless. I love that their pastries are more Japanese styled: fluffy and not too sweet. I've gotten both savory and sweet food here and everything is up to par! The coffee is sooooo good. It's brewed with MUCH more care than Starbucks- to a poster before me who favored Starbucks over this. Their cheesecake and cake section is amazing as well. Everything is very airy, not dense so keep that in mind. It's reasonably priced but I wouldn't eat here in their small dining area. It's my favorite thing to walk to in Glendale! this place is right next to my school & I wish I could like this place but I can't! The staff doesn't not know how to make any drinks other than coffee! Occasionally I would order a jasmine milk tea and every time is always tastes like watered down tea!! It's not milky or creamy. More like melted ice with tea and a splash of milk. Today I ordered a lemon C green tea cuz my stomach wasn't feeling well and HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. it was just WATER AND LEMON. There wasn't any syrup in it and it was disgusting. I always enjoy coming here for a SEA SALT COFFEE. So glad they opened up! Pastries are also good here, depending on what you like. I'm more of a pie and cheesecake person so I'm typically not big on all the bread choices that they have, but they have some good ones and plenty of variety. My fave treat is the EGG TART! Some things that are annoying about this place: - The useless 2 lines: One time I waited in the (express) drinks-only line but there was no one on cash at that line so everyone in the main line got taken care of over and over, while I waited in the front of this line with no assistance. I didn't get helped until the other line was done. Sucks. - The tall guy at cash: He can be clumsy with my order. One time my bread fell apart as he struggled to put it in a bag, and he also tried to squish a long bun into a small bag :/ - The little seat space: I never have a place to sit to enjoy my order so I always just take my stuff to-go (maybe that's what is preferred?). I had high hopes for this new location. I was immediately let down upon seeing a tiny, cramped seating area. What an odd decision for a busy location in Downtown Glendale? This could have been a perfect place to hang out with friends after the movies or dinner. It seems that very little thought was put into the layout. If you just need to buy some pastries to go, then you probably won't have too many complaints, although the line also seems hastily set up. Who makes these decisions? It just baffles me. Monday's = $0.85 cent Large Sea Salt Coffees. Limit 4 per person. Such a great deal!! I wish they had this for the Iced Sea Salt Mountain Green Teas. This location is more walker friendly, but there is a lot of metered parking on Brand Blvd and behind this 85 degree bakery. My other favorite item is the Squid Ink Bread. It's a blackish oval looking bread with garlic butter on top and some baked cheese in the middle. You cannot eat just one. I love how it is savory and not too big. I always come here for their egg tarts yum! For the grand opening day they did sell egg tarts in a little box. My favorite beside the egg tart is the Premium Milk bread. Their vanilla chiffon cake with almonds are so good too! The service is good, will definitely stopped by when I'm in the area. read more

Well, maybe it was just this one day. But this is the worst location ever (5th one I tried) 2 pm Saturday and cases were half empty. When asked, 1-1.5 hour wait for popular items. Yet they kept churning not so popular ones. Better planning would have helped. And the store was plain dirty. Just a mess.
