Seafood soup was ok but tasted better with some red vinegar which you can ask the waiter to bring you. Fried snapper was good but sauce was a tad too tangy sweet for my liking. Eggplant was pretty good as was the beef in chili pot. Both came out sizzling which I just fine always tastes better no matter what. My kid liked the fried wonton skins as an appetizer. They have free wifi which is nice for a Chinese restaurant. You know what? I wish this place were a little closer. I'm impressed. We stopped here for a bowl of soup and an egg roll, and ended up ordering a main. Glad we did. First, the dining room at this location is roomy and comfortable. And a little jazzy, with the lighting -- even at 2 in the afternoon. Our service was impeccable. The Hot & Sour Soup here is good. Not only is it medium-thick with plenty of egg strands and plump mushrooms, it also has that tang that so many soups are missing. It could be a little spicier, but maybe that's just me. (Ask for some chile oil and that'll take care of things.) My wife had the Shrimp Soup. Spicy from the get-go and a wonderfully rich stock with tender shrimp and cabbage. Delicious. She said 'I would order this again.' The egg roll -- definitely not rolled here ... unless they copied the Costco recipe. Not impressed. It came out crispy and hot, but ... blah. I took two bites and pushed it aside. General Tso's Chicken here is impressive. Though I tend to order other menu items, General Tso's is always my first at a new restaurant. After all, if they can't make this Americanized dish, forget everything else. Not only does the chicken have an excellent consistency, the sauce tastes like someone actually put some effort into it. Avoid the singapore noodles.... every time we order them we end up in the bathroom for a few days. Not good. But they are so tasty, we kept trying it again hoping that wasn't what it was--but it was, every damned time. But let's look past that. I can't talk about accessibility for this restaurant for wheelchairs because we've only ever ordered delivery from them. They deliver themselves to a limited area, so you don't have to pay the jacked up fees that some of the delivery services charge. They are fast and package their food really nicely in resusable containers. Sometimes we order from them just to get some containers! LOL The food is good. I've had a whole fried fish tilapia served in a foil pan with sea salt and it was fresh and hot. I've had the pork fried rice and the house fried rice -- both are good, but the bits of sweet pork are yummy and my favorite is the pork fried rice. On the appetizers, I adore the fried chicken wings--I know this is a strange place to order chicken wings from, but they are crunchy and have a great flavor. For the price, they are worth trying--you get an order of 8 for cheap. My daughter always gets the beef and broccoli with brown sauce and she loves it. I get the dried string bean every time, as a side and share with my sister. She likes the chicken hot soup, and it is temperature hot when you get it. The new online ordering system for delivery is awesome and easy to use, and you can log in or pay out as a guest, so you don't store your credit card info. Delivery time says 70 minutes during the busy hours, but we usually get our food within 30 - 45 minutes, but it's always, always, always hot and fresh. This place is trash, they have rats in their kitchen and the wait time is longer than they say. The customer service is trash. I came to the restaurant and requested for my food after making an order over the telephone, the food wasnt ready and the dude at the front was rude as hell. He was in a rush to get me to pay but wasnt trying to get me my food. When I insisted on making sure my food was ready he went into the kitchen, came out and told me I needed to wait longer before i got it. When i got the food and paid for it, he still didnt want to give me the food, talking about "you must sign the receipt first". I saw the food, signed and complained about his attitude while leaving. Now this man wants to tell me I am rude and go off on me. I asked him what I said or did that was wrong? He didnt have an answer for me but started yelling "GET OUT". We love this place but today they really disappointed us. It's my daughters bday we had a party of 11 we called ahead. Our service was terrible missed items my husband had to ask more than 4 times for his drink. The food was mediocre and the floor was so greasy you literally have to hold on to chairs to go to the bathrooms. I understand adding gratuity but we just tipped more than 10 dollars for the worst experience ever. When we let management know how terrible our experience was they didn't seem to care. So we have ordered from this restaurant for a very long time. Never had any real issues and the food is good! The customer service has been good and we have never had anything much to complain about. But tonight when we ordered I gave the same number & confirmed the same address as usual. We were told that our address was out of range and it would be a $3.00 delivery charge. Not a problem. But I asked what the range is now out of curiosity and I was told it is a 5 mile radius and we were 5.1 miles away. We went ahead and still ordered, but I looked up how far our address is in relevance to the restaurant and of course the furthest route from the restaurant to our home is over 5 miles! The first TWO routes to get to our home were under 5 miles. Of course they would want to take the "furthest route". We are loyal customers. If they want to implement a charge for delivery it's understandable. Maybe they just didn't wanna deliver because it was after 9 PM. Either way, it's highly disappointing. Should have just left that $3.00 "out of delivery range" charge as a tip for the driver, but it's not the drivers fault. Certainly struck a nerve. Ordered last night, delivery was over an hour late. When I called to ask where my food was I was just placed on hold with no pls hold. Another lady with a heavy accent informed me it was on the way! Superb service. We were immediately seated, and our server was always available just as we turned to look for her. Always start your meal with the chicken dumplings in their hot sauce. Following it up with the fresh General Tso Chicken is never a bad option - and spring for the fried rice that's a $1 more - or go with the brown rice. My seafood soup was really salty this time around, but the spice and generous amount of seafood made up for it. Portions are still large, so dine carefully! She was so disappointed because it had no orange flavor to it. Then Friday night I ordered broccoli beef and shrimp fried rice. They told me it would be ready in 25 minutes. I arrived about 10 minutes later and found an empty restaurant. I'm thinking there are 4 people waiting on orders and an empty dinning room food shouldn'ttake long. 25 minutes came and went so I asked about my order, they said that they were cleaning the kitchen so they only had half the kitchen working. When we eat Chinese Food in the League City area, we typically eat at Triple 8. The restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly. The food is your typical Chinese food choices that include beef, chicken, or shrimp. There is nothing extremely different about their choices but I think the overall taste is better than others in the area. Thankfully, they do not have a buffet which, in my opinion, makes them taste better already. Here are a couple of tips: 1. If ordering to-go, call ahead. They'll have it ready in about 15 minutes. 2. They deliver. I think it's a $10 minimum and a five mile radius. 3. The dinner portions are plenty big enough to split. It doesn't matter if you are dining in or carry-out. 4. I'm almost positive their food has MSG. Chinese restaurant syndrome is a set of symptoms that some people have after eating Chinese food. A food additive called monosodium glutamate (MSG) has been blamed for the condition. Swelling is a common side effect of MSG and my wife will typically have swollen feet after we eat here. Therefore, we don't eat Chinese food often, but when we do, we eat at 888 (Triple 8). If you find this review helpful, please let me know. This is definately the best chinese spot in all of Galveston County, hands down. 1.wonton soup is excellent and has a great broth. 2.egg rolls always taste fresh. 3. I have not once had a bad meal here, and I've eaten here at least 50 times. 4. great vegetarian selection. My only complaint is that they dont have a combination plate, and thats because I have several favorites here and its always a dilemna for me on what to order. The General Tsos chicken uses quality chicken breast is never soggy and has the best Tsos sauce I've ever had, also for a veggie alternative try the General Tsos Bean Curd. The Sesame Beef is my personal favorite. The fried rice is so-so but I'm a sticky white rice fan so this doesn't effect me, but the fried rice is meat free unlike a lot of places. I love the pork dumplings. My wife loooves their springs rolls but to me they are only ok. the service is always friendly and fast except for the hostesses which always seem a lil rude but maybe its just me. I love shrimp and have eaten it raw and thousand other ways including the stinky dried one. But this was something different and I felt nauseating. I realized that they might have fried the shrimp and then put it in the freezer and upon ordering might have taken it out and stir fried. Frozen fried shrimp is good but most restaurants fry food upon order and don't pre fry and freeze them atleast for the breaded versions. I informed our waiter and asked her to take it away and that she can charge us for the dish but informed her that I would like to order another dish. She informed me that she has to get an approval from her manager first. I was surprised. Anyway, manager arrives and tries to explain me about spicy foods.. I was like ,, are you kidding me.. You warn about spicy foods to an Indian guy..He does not understand that I am not inclined to eat because of the smell and not because of spice.. BTW It was not that spicy. I told him he can charge me for it but let me order another dish. He reluctantly agrees and now I order chicken fried rice. Another 5 mins pass by and here comes my order. That fast.... Hmm... I try to take a spoonful and notice that I cannot even chew the rice. It is so hard and uncooked that I cannot chew. That's it for me.. I stood up and went straight to pay my bill and was out of there. Again, I might be having a bad day. I know restaurants cannot be judged by one single experience and I had not so bad experiences with them earlier. The food those time was not that great but was not bad either. This day the whole experience was pretty bad. Only good thing happened was no charge for my shrimp dish. I did leave my 15% tip though. So judge for yourself... I am definitely not coming back. However I did feel that they were especially nice to us just because my Aunt is a devoted customer of theirs and is able to communicate comfortably with them since she can speak Mandarin, which I was not too fond of since displaying biasness is never a good thing. Ordered our meals from the traditional Asian menu not from the American traditional style food menu; portions served were perfect, great for a group of 6-8. The food had a nice blend of home made and dining out kind of feel (not sure how else to describe ha).
