The Detroit-style pizza was perfectly crispy on the edges, soft and fluffy inside, and loaded with flavour in every bite. You can really tell they care about quality ingredients and doing Detroit-style pizza the right way. The portions were generous, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff were super friendly throughout the visit. The White Truffle Pizza is a nice vegetarian option as the truffle-marinated mushrooms do pair well with the freshly made white truffle ricotta cheese! The Pineapple Express Pizza is a good sweet and spicy option with the sweet pineapples pairing well with the salami calabrese! Who wouldn't wanna try the 8Mile Detroit Style Pizza? They make every order fresh and hot. This place was cozy and clean. The server was patient and friendly. I enjoyed the music they were playing (hip-hop). It really fits the name of this restaurant. We got a half-and-half pizza of Meat Love and Spicy P (5/5). The Meat Love was loaded with sausage, ham, bacon and pepperoni. Exactly how a meat lovers pizza to be. The Spicy P had pepperoni, mushrooms and jalapeno. It was finished with a hefty drizzle of Scotch Bonnet aioli sauce. We didn't find this spicy but that's our personal opinion. Their signature red sauce and freshly grated parmesan ties the flavours all together. I would buy a can of their red sauce if I could. It was delicious, and they really added a lot of it on the pizza. The crust was addicting too. It was airy and fluffy with crispiness on the outside. It never got soggy from all the toppings and the sauce. Every bite we took had a cheese-pull moment which was so satisfying. The wait time was about 10-15 minutes but we didn't really mind. Never really noticed this place cause it's off the main road and just looks like someone's home from the intersection. It's a small place but they manage to make the most of it with seating along the walls and a patio during warmer seasons. I preferred the Detroit red top as the white sauce balanced the Marinara sauce perfectly. Oh Canada was a bit oily for me as it was loaded with pepperoni. I sat at the bar stools and shared the pizza with my friend. There are about 6 seats and a cute patio which would be nice during the summer. OMG this pizza is so good. I have ordered a number of times and I've tried about 4 or 5 different kinds so far, and they are all really good. The dough is quite thick (focaccia style) so if you prefer thin crust pizza, this might not be for you. I am a pizza lover, so I'm cool with a lot of different styles, as long as the flavours are there. The Detroit style is quite unique where the sauce goes on top, but it is actually really nice. The crust was properly crispy on the outside, the bottom not as much (to be fair, it would likely have been if I ate it there), and the middle a bit too much on the chewy side The toppings were generous and tasty overall: the soppressata wasn't overly spicy (so you'll like it if you can't handle spice), the mushrooms were plentiful, there wasn't a lot of caramelized onions and I would have liked them sweeter to counter the overall saltiness, and the garlic sauce was the proper level of creamy garlic-ness to complement (and not overpower) the pizza. I ordered the Cheese Pie, added green peppers and a side of hot honey and creamy garlic. I also ordered a slice of the peanut butter fudge brownie cheesecake. The order was ready quickly. The staff member was really nice and friendly. The pizza was $17, the sauces about $4 extra, and the cheesecake an additional $7. I opened the pizza and the first thing I notice is it's 4 slices. I was a bit shocked by this as I at least hoped for 6 slices for a near $20 pizza. It did look delicious, the burnt cheese on the crust, the Parmesan on top. I was honestly expecting a 10/10 just on aesthetics. I try it and it's quite flavorless which I didn't understand since it had a good amount of red sauce and cheese. The texture was good but it just didn't have a lot of flavor. I also imagined there would be more green peppers on it. The creamy garlic also tasted a bit off. Usually I visit Descendants for detroit-style pizza, so when I found this gem on UberEats, I was very excited. The picture showed that each of the large pizzas had 6 slices. Since deep dish pizza is known to be greasy and filling, I didn't prepare anything else for dinner. We went for the Forge Your Own option for the two of us: -Base pizza $16 -Caramelized Onions +2$ -Mushrooms +2$ -Pepperoni +2$ When the app told me the courier had delivered the food, we hurried to the lobby to pick it up. It sure smelled good - the concierge gave us a knowing smile: "good food tonight?". At first glance the box seemed like a good size, but when we opened it upstairs, the pizza only took up 2/3 of the box. It felt like two pieces were missing - I even considered the possibility that the delivery guy took off with two pieces - but it looked like the pizza was not tampered with in any way. I guess I was mislead by the picture :( Taste wise, the thick crust gave way to the crispy soft cheese-dough mixture inside. The sweetness of the caramelized onions complemented the salty meatiness of the pepperoni - and they used the good pepperonis too, if you know which ones i mean. Next time I might try arugula and ricotta, since those are also classic deep dish pizza toppings. In the end, four slices was still filling, but not as satisfying as if it had filled the entire pizza box. Also, considering I paid around 25$ after tax, I thought I'd be getting a lot more food. I wonder if that was just a one off... I'll probably give it one more chance but instead go and pick it up. Maybe that'll be a better experience? read more

The pizza itself is great. Their classic Pepperoni Pie is some of the best Detroit-style pizza in the city. Also tried their Dodi Pie which includes Spicy Soppressata, Caramelized Onions, and Mushrooms. The pepperoni, sauce, and cheese were great and the crust tasted very solid. I find some pizzas like this can be too greasy, but 8Mile struck a nice balance. The Dodi Pie was pretty good. If you're like me and can only handle a bit of spice, then don't fret - the Soppressata doesn't have much kick to it. These had a pretty subtle taste to them in all honestly and were the only part of the pizza I was unsure of. They were kind of crunchy and felt overcooked, but maybe that's the way it's supposed to be? This slice was thick and heavy as well. Loaded with toppings. It wasn't jumping out at me with taste though. I couldn't taste the caramelized onions or mushrooms much. I think the reason I enjoyed the Dodi Pie was that it was satisfying to gorge on such a thick slice of pie. We also got the garlic dipping sauce which I usually love with my pizza, but honestly, it was pretty gross. It had the consistency of wet Nivea face cream which turned us off, so we didn't finish it. Places like Maker Pizza and even Pizza Pizza do Creamy Garlic Sauce much better. The last thing I'd say is that the ratio of portion size to price is a bit lacking. Most Detroit Style pizza places in the city are this way, so I cannot hold it against 8Mile specifically. My pizza + dipping sauce came to $29.66 after tax and before tip. Portion size relative to price just can't compete with places who make an 18" football pie for ~$20-$29, so you're really paying for some solid Detroit Style 'za. Overall, I'd give em 3 points for the pizza itself and knock 2 off for the creamy garlic and price-to-portion ratio. Not sure if I'll go back. read more

Top it with whatever you want, because the toppings and sauces are top-notch. I tried the pepperoni (keep it classic, it'll never let you down) and the Belle Province, which were both spectacular. They only offer one size for their pizzas even though their website and menu on the TV offers a small and large size.
