Awesome deep dish pizza amazing fresh and reheated. The shop is small but cute. The outside does not do it justice all inside and it's really charming! The pizzas were delicious great crust and delicious topping. Service was extremely nice and helpful!

I tagged along with my wife for her Elite event at 8Mile Detroit Style Pizza They are situated on Charles St between Yonge and Balmuto I can call it the off the beaten path as it's not on the main strip of restaurants which I do like Inside it's fairly small There is seating for at least some but definitely not good for big groups The menu offers a variety of Detroit style pizzas which I will be honest is one of my fav style of pizzas.... My wife had the classic while I had the Oh Canada Wow Super good Crust perfect with the caramelization and crispy Soft dough in the center Sauce was very tasty Toppings were perfect All around a great pizza Server that tended to us was very friendly I would definitely come back again here when I am down in the Yorkville area again

Never really noticed this place cause it's off the main road and just looks like someone's home from the intersection. It's a small place but they manage to make the most of it with seating along the walls and a patio during warmer seasons. They have a selection of pizzas to choose from and if you can't decide, they can make it half and half. Their baked wings are also incredibly juicy. Definitely worth ordering if you're looking for something to share.

This spot serves thick deep dish pizza. Crust was sweet and moist. Unique toppings and flavours. There's a few dine in tables. Good for quick meal / takeout. No washroom. Limited street paid parking. It's close by to subway station. There's a few stairs to get to the restaurant with no elevators

Overall a good place if you're craving something different. There's a ton of pizza options to choose from, so I appreciate the option of ordering a 50/50 split. The pie was delicious and the dough had a soft texture. The size of a single pie is sufficient for one person (comes down to about 4 pieces) but I wouldn't consider it sufficient for sharing. The service was quick and friendly and we didn't wait long for our order, considering that they seemed pretty busy. We were also thankfully able to sit down and have our food as there were some seating options available (so it's not a strictly sit down spot). They also have a patio, which would be great in the warmer months :)

I got a Dodi and a triple chocolate cake and they were both yummy! The crust was crunchy and the pizza was doughy/soft - the flavours went well with each other. The chocolate cake was rich and moist! Highly recommend coming here

Hmmm I don't particularly enjoy this style of pizza but got to try it a couple of times. I would say this location is better than the other spots I have tried so far. Good going is one can customize or try some that are on promo. Reasonably priced would make it a better option than chain pizzerias imo

Pizza was amazing everything tasted fresh, and the sauce was incredible. Honestly, the best thing I had in Toronto. We also tried the chicken wings, which were delicious as well. Wasn't a fan of the ranch; it had too much dill. Overall, highly recommend this place. Customer service was 10/10.

Half and half Detroit Red Hot and Oh Canada

We walked in and placed an order for the half and half option with Detroit Red Top and Oh Canada. It was ready in about 15 minutes. The crust was perfectly crispy and was still chewy. I preferred the Detroit red top as the white sauce balanced the Marinara sauce perfectly. Oh Canada was a bit oily for me as it was loaded with pepperoni. I sat at the bar stools and shared the pizza with my friend. There are about 6 seats and a cute patio which would be nice during the summer. Love the handrawn pizza boxes displayed along the walls and the workers there were friendly and welcoming to all. I will definitely be back!

Small Detriot-style pizza place hidden in downtown Toronto close to Yonge and Bloor. We ordered the following: Pineapple Express 10" x 8" Oh Canada 10" x 8" Both pizzas did not look big at all but they were quite filling. I mean they were a bit oily and quite heavy. Good crunchiness on the pizza crust though. Nice downtown Toronto view from a small balcony where patrons can dine there. It's okay to try but probably would not go back. Nothing really wrong with this place and it's just personal taste bud preferences. I rather get something less heavy.

I was suspicious about this place's quality by its storefront looks. Who imagines this place (that looks like an ordinary corner pizza store) serves such good quality Detroit style pizzas? In the GTA, there aren't many Detroit style pizza places. Glad to find 8Miles in the downtown core area near my workplace. I ordered "Oh Canada!" The crust has wonderfully crunchy exterior, with chewy, airy and bubbly interior. It is raised close to one inch high. Cheesy, and addictively greasy - we need this sometimes :) No? It was drizzled with house ranch and spicy sauce for extra flavors. A perfect stress buster! The price is less expensive than other Detroit-style pizza places. The selection is relatively standard like other ordinary pizza places, using sausage, ham, pepperoni, bacon, mozza etc. Not very sophisticated, but still serves my pizza cravings with a nice & different twist!

    dodi pizza cheese pull
    Carrie L.

one of the best pizza spots in toronto!!! the dodi pie was life changing and the cheese pull was INSANEEEE. the pairings of the spicy soppresata and mushroom with the creamy garlic drizzle was truly perfection. we also got the meat love and it slapped so hard that i passed away and after another bite i came back to life.

The line was short during a late lunch on a weekday, and if we had planned better, we would have ordered ahead because you can skip the line. The service was a bit slow; we were thinking they could make so much more money if they just had a New Yorker taking orders, but it was worth the wait for some piping hot, crispy crust. We got a few slices; mushroom blanco (we tasted some truffle oil), a vodka one (all pizza should be made with this sauce instead), a marg and a pepperoni. All the spots were taken outside so we walked 2 minutes to a park and crushed our pieces there and saw a number of others so the same. We brought our empty pizza box back to patio outside the restaurant where they have a designated container for them.

Would come here more often and would've given 5 stars if it wasn't for the long wait time outdoors…read more Parking is also hard to find nearby. We waited for 45 mins on a Friday evening, and ended up getting a parking ticket that was issued 10 mins before we were leaving. But I guess their set up does live up to the "neighborhood pizza" vibe. Their pizza is the best though and I'm not much of a pizza girl. My favourite is the burrata marinara because I find it so unique. The burrata is creamy and go so well against the crispness of the pizza. The vodka slice had the most insane cheese pull and I love that it doesn't have a strong tomato/sour taste. Next time we'll probably order ahead and just get a box!

This place gets a solid 4.5/5 for its authentic southern Italian food and very friendly & attentive…read moreservice. It has a very homey, old-school Italian American restaurant ambience - the opposite of the stylish, hipster or touristy restaurant vibe. Apparently this restaurants gets a lot of regulars, and I could see why. As soon as you walk in, you feel like you're transported back to the 1960s with the red-and-white checkered tablecloths, red chairs, old-style wax candles, brick walls, and a large black-and-white photo of an Italian family on the wall (perhaps the founder or owner's?). I could see this place being a movie set for films that need an old, classic Italian American restaurant as a setting. In addition to the décor, I love the 1960s music being played in the background. Size-wise, the inside of the restaurant isn't that big so it feels very cozy. It can get very busy and crowded after 5 pm, as most people seem to come here for dinner. We came during lunch hour and we were the only patrons there. The southern Italian touches are very apparent in most of their dishes - with heavy reliance on olive oil, tomato-based sauces (especially in the fish and seafood dishes), fresh seafood, herbs, peppers, and vegetables such as eggplant. This is in contrast to northern Italian cuisine that is characterized by rich, creamy dishes using butter, lard, and cheeses, and puts more emphasis on rice, polenta, and meat-heavy dishes (where as seafood is more prevalent in the south). Dishes that we tried: 1) Baccala (Pan-Seared Black Cod) - This was the BEST and my favourite dish here. The black cod had a crispy exterior and flaky interior, and came with roasted mini potatoes and mixed vegetables (zucchini, red bell pepper, Brussels sprouts, eggplant) roasted with garlic -- such a well-rounded and wholesome dish. The roasted mini potatoes were so flavourful, and the vegetables had a nice char. I asked for the puttanesca sauce on the side, as the fish was already flavourful on its own without the sauce. But the sauce was better than I expected - it contained actual whole chunks of cherry tomatoes and olives. 2) Steamed Mixed Fish & Seafood in Tomato Sauce - This dish wasn't on the website menu, but it was on the printed menu in the restaurant. It reminded me of cioppino (Italian-American mixed seafood stew with tomato sauce, herbs, and spices). It came presented as wrapped inside aluminum tin foil, which the server then opened in front of us on the table with steam coming out. The fish was salmon, and seafood consisted of mussels and shrimps. This dish was just alright. For almost $50, there wasn't much seafood. 3) Pizza Funghi - I liked the very thin and crispy crust, and the sliced roasted mushrooms as toppings, but I wasn't a fan of the "truffled honey" they added on top of the pizza. I didn't taste any truffle, and the honey made it very sweet. Not a fan of sweet pizza. 4) SIDES: Rapini, Brussels Sprouts, Mushrooms - They got bonus points for being able to customize the sides. They didn't have asparagus that day, so they substituted it for steamed Brussels sprouts with garlic instead - which was heavenly. The Brussels sprouts weren't overcooked at all, and they were generous with the garlic (anything with extra garlic gets extra thumbs up from me). The rapini came out chopped with a side of lemon wedge. Mushrooms weren't on the menu as a side, but we asked and they were able to make a simple side of just mushrooms. Overall the vegetables got 9/10. The chef was very friendly as he came out and talked to us. The server was extremely attentive. Great service overall.

They have a great stock of wines and an impressive drink list that we don't get to enjoy as we can't handle drinks these days. We do enjoy the food and the friendly service immensely tho. Lots of options for shareable apps; excellent options on pizzas and pastas; and I am always impressed with their mains (as someone that has to limit carbs, options can be limited at some Italian restos). They are also understanding of reasonable diet requests. They have gluten-free options as well. It is more of a "quiet" restaurant in terms of the clientele chatter, at least for the times I was there, so I can hear the music they play ("oldies"!!!!)
