Fast friendly service Food creatively displayed. Can make food low sodium. Looks very clean and minimalistic but the pictures of Thailand make me want to get on a plane and Go!

The flavors were bold, balanced and absolutely addictive! The kind of meal you daydream about later! I ordered lunch pick up, I don't know why I never stopped by here before, it's definitely a hidden GEM! I had the shrimp drunken noodles, I ordered it medium spice and it was perfect! The noodles had a bite to them that was a party in my mouth. I walked in and was greeted by a very kind young lady, the whole atmosphere/aura of this small restaurant was welcoming! Definitely coming back with my family and will definitely recommend to all my friends!!
Decided to try 9 Pad Thai after reading great reviews and ordered carryout around 9:30 PM (Panang Curry and Drunken Noodles with chicken, around $18 each). When I got home, Drunken Noodles were good and flavorful, However, I was really disappointed with the Panang Curry. The container was less than half full, and the curry itself was quite watery. Giving them the benefit of the doubt--thinking it might have just been because it was near closing, or that I misunderstood their typical portion sizes--I actually went back the next day in person to show them photos of the dish and ask if this was standard. Unfortunately, the interaction wasn't very helpful. The staff member pointed to a menu photo (which doesn't really show actual portion sizes for take-out) and told me to return two days later when the owner was in to ask for a refund. I wasn't looking for a refund; I just wanted to share feedback on the quality and portion size and see if they would like an opportunity to make it right. Packaging-wise, using such a large take-out container for a small portion also makes the meal feel incomplete. There is a lot of great Thai food in the area, and good customer service makes all the difference. I tried to give them an opportunity, at the very least, they could've asked for my number to have their manager call. It is okay, I will try a different restaurant when in the Springfield, VA area
A simple and authentic Thai food. A family owned (Lovely to meet them today) place with warm service! Place is quaint with some Asian inspired decor. Whether its your first time to try this restaurant or you became a regular, I bet you will say its true!
How have I never been here before?! This place is so great. The restaurant is clean and inviting, and the staff is exceptionally friendly and welcoming. I got take out so I can't speak for the service. The drunken noodles might be my new favorite in the area. The spice level is perfect, the meat is tender and the noodles the perfect chewiness. The sauce is delicious. You cannot beat the value at this place. Wow. Will definitely return!
Ordered through grubby, found out ordering on the website would've saved me 10% based on fees which is eh, food was fire really liked the panang curry, I don't usually finish the rice with panang curries but I actually did this time. Fried rice was very tasty as well
I came here for my lunch break, with high hopes due to the rating. When I walked in it was completely empty. I would like to explain my experience within the first minute of me stepping in. Me: One for here Lady in hoodie: *saying loudly across the restaurant* picking up? Me: No one for here Lady: For here? how many people Me: One. Throughout the interaction, she came off rude and annoyed so it was already distasteful. As I sat down, i noticed that the area itself is clean. Another lady in a hat served me and she was really sweet. As I was ordering, I asked if they had wifi (because on settings it says "9 PadThai wifi" and as she was going to respond, the lady in the hoodie interject from across the restaurant saying no. I did not appreciate the attitude as I am just asking a question, the service was 50/50, one lady was nice, the other was completely rude. It does not help that I saw the same lady in a hoodie greet some customers warmly and other ice cold. I ordered the firecracker shrimp as an appetizer and came with a complementary fried roll. Both items were average, nothing special. I was imagining something like bang bang shrimp based off of the name and description. The shrimp itself was good, very fresh and soft. I was wowed by the pad thai. Very delicious and flavorful, I asked for thai spicy so there was a small kick, but enjoyable to eat. Overall the food was 50/50, the service was 50/50, I do not think I will be coming back solely because of that interaction. This place is always having people picking up so maybe take out is the way to go for this location.
This is our go-to Thai place for quick pickup near home. I love their drunken noodles and the red curry always hits. We always pickup, so I've never dined in, but I have never seen it crowded. Despite being relatively consistent, there is a girl who works here, whenever we order the pad thai without mushrooms she says, "they don't put mushrooms in it." Without fail, when we get home, it has mushrooms. Happened for easily the 5th time tonight so I felt compelled to write this review and leave this photo. Please. When someone says they don't want something specific in it, write it down, even if you think it's not in the dish to begin with. People have allergies and sometimes they're serious enough that they can't eat the dish at all, even after removing the ingredient in question.
What an incredible find. We ate at a good Thai restaurant the previous day and our cousins invited us to try 9 Pad Thai. Needless to say we were blown away by their unique take on Thai Cuisine. Top notch were the Crispy Pad Thai, Crispy Duck and Soft shell crab. All dishes were 3 star with the exception of the calamari which was more crust and little calamari. The service was attentive and friendly. The ambiance was relaxed and simple The also served both Singha and Chang Beer, which paired well with the Thai spices.

Some of the best Thai I've had. Certainly the best value Thai. Mmm. The store is beautiful and clean. The servers are sooooo nice. They do a polite bow when they depart your table. (They don't leave - they depart. Leaving is just heading off to the kitchen with your order. Departing is much nicer.) There are things on the menu I'd never seen before. I got the Pad Ped Pla Dook made with beef. It's just plain tasty. The flavors are flavors, not gummed together to make a flavor. The beef is tender. The veggies are tender. The rice is tender. It was HOT. I never know how hot to order stuff in a Thai restaurant. Some of them show a ten on a scale of 1 - 10 and their idea of a 10 is kinda warm. My second-favorite Thai place, in Hampton Roads, VA on the other hand, is HOT. I can do a 7 there. 8 is just plain inedible for me, and I can't imagine 10. This place isn't THAT hot, but 3 out of 3 peppers was as hot as I like, maybe a little more. I drank a lot of water. I sweated and my eyes ran a little. The waitress looked a little worried, came by with more water every few minutes, apologized and/or said next time they wouldn't make it so hot for me, bowed politely and departed. I appreciated the attention (and the water), but I think I'll do three peppers next time, too. The hot went with the bright, fresh flavors perfectly. And the value was astounding. I just got water to drink, no appetizer, just the entree. There was more food than I needed, though I ate it all. It cost about $20 after a well-deserved big tip. Go there. Get the Pad Ped Pla Dook. I've started eating their food first as a take out order and it was surprisingly authentic, affordable and delicious. I later on actually decided to sit down and order food both for lunch and dinner. Food is excellent and delicious. Prices are reasonable and services are clean, and good. This is definitely a family business and everyone works hard to make your experience a good one. The wonton soup is one of the best I had around here. Fish cakes are crispy, golden orange with good amount of sweet and sour sauce on the side. I had couple of dishes and curry both with duck, chicken and beef and I would recommend it to anyone who is ready to taste a good Thai cuisine. There are usually good number of Asian customers here which is always a good sign that food is authentic read more

Oh man I can't say enough great things about this place! The food was amazing and the service was even better!! My wife and I decided to try a date night out with our three month old daughter and I was craving pad Thai and wanted a break from our normal spot so of course yelp didn't let me down! We swung by here, it's in a strip mall I never knew existed. We were seated right away, it wasn't very busy and took a look through our menus. The server brought us water right away and took our appetizer order (spring rolls of course). They've got regular menus and picture menus! Much to my delight!! The picture menus are huge and super fun to look at... except it also made me super hungry haha... good marketing maybe? It did take a while for the server to come back and take our food order but she appeared to be the only one working the floor and we were entertaining a three month old so maybe she was giving us space? Anyway, we ordered and then found out they don't have a liquor license... which I jokingly told my wife when we arrived.... oops! I didn't even think to check, the server did say you can bring your own alcohol; a family behind us brought a bottle of wine (the restaurant supplied the glasses too!) and upon the completion of their meal they corked their bottle and took it with them (fascinating concept). Just as our food was coming out our daughter got upset and then decided she had enough and was super tired. I did get to eat a good chunk of my food while it was still warm and it was incredible! The presentation was really cool (got the chef special pad Thai) and the food was delicious, flavorful, sweet, crunchy and everything I was looking forward to in pad Thai! I opted for the chicken and no shrimp... my wife didn't get to try her food as our daughter was now raging -_- The server and possibly owner (who had just come in) immediately helped me get everything boxed (they did it for me) and brought me the check immediately so I could take care it. They were both so apologetic, offered to turn the music down (which wasn't loud at all) and genuinely concerned... I was shocked at how well they were treating us. The owner (I think) ended up holding both doors open for me so I could get the carrier out and not make a huge mess or disaster. Unbeknownst to me; my wife was outside talking to a drunk older male (he was asking for directions) while she was trying to soothe our daughter. We both started walking towards the car and the drunk guy walked alongside us (which almost elicited a response from me) while continuing to now bother us for directions. He quickly became argumentative about where Backlick road was and how to get to Burger King. The next thing I know the owner (again, an assumption on my part) is the restaurant comes out and she walks us to the car... presumably to ensure we all get to the car safely. This incredible act of kindness was well above and beyond what I would expect from someone and it really made me fall in love with this place. We ended up with a baby who fell asleep on the car ride home and my wife finally got to eat her green chicken curry and she loved it! She said it was very flavorful, had just the right amount of heat, and she's definitely go back again. Sooooo it was a super long Post (that was more about the service than the food, but the food was phenomenal) but I do know this..... we will definitely be back to try other dishes and hoping we can order delivery from here!!! read more

Awesome Thai place! As a casual Thai eater, rarely do you venture too far from the pad Thais and drunken noodles, but 9padthai not only invites you to do so, but also delivers the spectrum of Thai foods at great quality. To start off, the drunken noodle and pad Thai are already great. Plenty of flavor, very fragrant, and has all the Thai notes you want. As for others, I enjoyed the Kanom Jeeb appetizer. It's a steamed dumpling with ground meat inside, and great for sharing in groups. I also really liked the crispy basil duck. I tried their fresh whole fish, and although it was OK, I didn't think it was super awesome. A little too fried for me, but at least the sauces were really good. Overall, great food and great people. A little undermanned right now, but I feel lots of potential for growth and more delicious food in the future! read more

We ordered delivery from 9 Pad Thai for the first time and weren't disappointed. The prices were steep for the serving size but this was arguably one of the better Thai dinners I've had in the area. We ordered kanom jeeb and wontons for appetizers. Both were good but I would only reorder the kanom jeeb. The filling in the wontons was so lackluster in amount and taste that it felt gimmicky. For entrees we had the 9 Pad Thai (their chef's recipe version of pad Thai which featured a paper thin egg basket type thing enveloping the dish and was SO GOOD!), the drunken noodles ordered extra extra hot (really was only hot hot but not EXTRA like we hoped) and the moo-ping (pork skewers) which were tender and sweet and salty (just right!) We will definitely order again. I'd love to dine in some time to see if the portions are any different. It was the perfect amount of food but the prices seemed high in comparison. The workers were really friendly and quick with their service! UPDATE: Initially I gave 3.5/5 bc the pad thai...BUT After coming back a few times, the regular pad Thai doesn't taste as "ketcupy". This time I give 5/5 bc this place has THE BEST drunken noodles that I've ever tried. hands down. And I have tried many. It's SUPER flavorful with a nice kick and smoke/char. I am picky with my food in that I am not a fan of foods that are too sweet. But this drunken noodle is not sweet but perfect balance of savory w a just hint of sweet. It's not under coated in sauce nor is it wet fRom excessive sauce. Tops balance of sauce and oil. You can't have thai food with a crap ton of oil and sugar but this is very well balanced. Take me back to Thailand! I came here with my family and we order a bunch of dishes to try. We really just wanted to try everything and see what we liked. Turns out we enjoyed everything and didn't have any food left over. All of the dishes were really tasty. The flavors and taste of the food were really authentic. It really reminded me of the food back in Thailand. Definitely try the green curry, grilled chicken, drunken noodle and specialty pad thai. I do plan on coming back here whenever I crave Thai food! read more

So glad there was a 20 minute wait at a neighboring restaurant and we were hungry. I've spent over 2 months in Thailand and this place is as authentic as it gets! The mussels appetizer was out of this world. The crab cakes were amazing and the 9 Pad Thai was as good as I ever had in Thailand. To top it all off the service was great too! I live in Atlanta, Georgia and definitely will be returning here anytime I find myself in the area. read more
This is our second time to visit this area, and the second time for me to eat here. Let me just say that we don't have Thai restaurants of this caliber here in Texas. We stopped in based on a Yelp recommendation. I dream of this Pad Thai. It's very difficult to find the perfect blend of spices and seasonings, let alone tender chicken. Their signature dish wrapped in egg is fantastic. All of the food we ordered is top notch. The fried rice was a hit with my husband and he's super picky. Don't pass this one by! My recommendation to the business owners is to get a can of paint and fix up the areas by the restrooms. Dirty walls make you feel dirty (and not in a good way). Otherwise, super happy with our experience both times! read more
98 Pad Thai is located on Commerce Street, behind Springfield Plaza, next to Manila Oriental Market (and Pizza Hut on the end), taking the place of used to be Bangkok Noodles. Came here with family for a dinner (and ordered takeout multiple times). Tried a variety of dishes. Not only are the dishes really good, but the presentation is very excellent as well. My favorite has to be the Crispy Watercress Salad with Thai larp, Green Curry, and the 9PadThai Special Pad Thai. How often do you order Pad Thai and its wrapped in the fried egg? Pad Thai is my desert island food. I could eat it every day and never be tired of it. With that said, I have had my share of pad Thais through out the years and this is one of the best if not the best I have ever had. This has become my favorite restaurant in town. read more
Delicious and authentic. At first when you're pulling in, you start to contemplate the place because it's kind of in a sketch location and not many customers.....but doesn't mean the food isn't good! The place is very clean, they have picture menus, and food is always hot and fresh. Love the pad Thai and drunken. The quality of the beef is also so good too. Firstly the ambience was super chill. I really enjoyed the music that was playing. I started with summer rolls. This arrived with a delicious dipping sauce. It was stuffed with the right amount of veggies and shrimp and a bit of noodles. Yummy! I ordered a Thai soup called Guay Tiaw Tom Yum that came with ground pork in it. It had the rice noodles also. I ordered this because it had 3 chili peppers next to it and I was in the mood for some spicy soup. Thai soup never lets me down. The soup was delicious and savory. It was chock full of meat. I probably didn't need to eat all of the meat so I devoured all the noodles. . I couldn't eat it all so I took some home. The wait staff was super nice also. I would recommend this place for sure. read more

I visited this place for lunch and I was not disappointed. The food was fresh and the prices were good. I got spring rolls, chicken soup, and dumplings as my appetizers. They were all tasty! I got pad woon sen as my entree and it was great as well! Nothing overly salty. The flavors came out well within each dish. I would definitely return but maybe when I have more time to eat. It was slow the day that I went and only 4 tables (including my own) were occupied. It still took a while for me to get my food. Other than that, my server was friendly and helpful! Also, they have a picture menu which is very helpful for people who are visual! read more

I order the same handful of dishes at every Thai restaurant (pad se ew, drunken noodles, panang curry, papaya salad, spicy basil fried rice) and 9 Pad Thai has been the tastiest! The pad se ew in particular is so good, and the pla lad prik (fried fish in a chili sauce) is delicious and punchy as well. I've only done takeout via DoorDash and some of the options are little wonky on the app, but a very sweet lady at 9 Pad Thai called to make sure she had the order correct on her end. I'm here for the attentive service and flavorful food! read more

Ordered online. Spent like 15 minutes adding all of our food. Bill was like $60. Added $5 for delivery plus 15% tip of $9. So I paid $14 extra for delivery. I live 5 min from here and it got declined for being out of the zone. Thanks for wasting my time . Won't ever dine in or order from here again. Now gotta wait 3-5 days for my refund. read more
Ordered the 9pad Thai shrimp, chicken green curry, crispy calamari, papaya salad. The pad Thai was delicious. Note: contains some kind of fish flake or something fishy and I did not think the "umami" was necessary. So if it was omitted I would have deemed it a top runner for pad Thai. The papaya salad was incredibly delicious. Crispy and well seasoned. The CRISPY CALAMARI was perfectly cooked and incredibly delicious. Did not smell and seemed fresh. The green curry is not as coconut creamy as other places, but the flavor was still good. For the amount of food we ordered. It was insanely cheap. (Lunch prices) note the lunch came with a veggie roll which was delicious! Loved sealing it off with the Thai iced tea. Which was delicious. read more
