The Dollar Tree on Highway 99 in Edmonds by Safeway was a busy place when I visited yesterday…read moreevening, Friday 10 May 2024. The parking strip directly in front of the store was full, so I parked across the main drive past the front of the store. Depending on what one was looking for, some of the offerings were picked over and some were full. A worker was filling balloons (some Mother's Day related) later as I was waiting in line. I was looking for a few sweet treats for my mom as well as a Mother's Day card and a birthday card for her. The cards were varied in tone and style and I found one for each occasion that I decided to go with. For sweet treats, I found a couple of items rhyming with the tastes my mom likes. Check out had a longer line and one register was open. While waiting a second register opened up, then the first one started having problems. Even with the few registers and number of customers, the line moved quick and the wait was not too long.

The lady in front of me decided to keep shopping while she was being checked out, so it was taking a bit. Meanwhile, an employee needed to check out so another employee came up to check her out. Thinking she was open, I went next door to her line. To which she told me lane 4 ma'am. I tried to tell her I had been waiting and she very rudely said "Sorry!!" And closed her checkstand! On a good note, she saved me about 50 dollars, haha! I would skip this trashy place if I were you! There are way too many places to shop to be treated like this. Without customers youndont have a job lady! #DOLLARTREEKAREN

As a soon-to-be parent, I wanted to dress my baby well but without spending a fortune since they will grow so quickly. True to their words, the onesies at Bella's Voice are about $1 apiece which is astounding in today's market. I came in twice over two weeks because I couldn't believe it and had to come back to see if the selection rotated as much as I hoped. The first time I was bummed that I found a cute unicorn sweater but it got confiscated for not having a price tag (their policy dictates that unpriced merchandise must be returned to the back room for processing with no guaranteed turnaround time for returning to the rack). By the second time I visited I found an even nicer kids jacket for about the same price which I promptly snatched up. The inventory turns at a steady pace and there's some fun stuff in there (Juicy Couture baby bottoms anyone?) This has definitely been my most promising resource for kid clothes for myself and parent friends so far, and has revitalized my former interest in thrift shop hunting as a hobby.

We used to really like Bella's Voice and shopped there regularly after moving to Lynnwood in 2024…read more We have spent close to $3,000. That changed with one visit which occurred a month ago. Look at the photos for the condition of a rug they sold. At the Shoreline store, I purchased a rug that was tightly rolled and sealed with tape, so there was no way to inspect it at the store. When I got it home and opened it, it was in unacceptable condition: heavily stained, paint marks, and a strong cigarette odor. This is not an item that should have been on the sales floor. I brought it back within a week with the tag attached and receipt in hand. The manager Leonora did not start by looking at the condition. Instead, she went straight to finding reasons to deny the return. First saying there was no tag (there was), then saying they don't accept returns on "furniture." At no point did she engage with the actual issue. When I tried to show her why I was returning it, another employee inserted herself and escalated the interaction. I did raise my voice out of frustration (my voice carries) but I made no threats and was trying to explain a legitimate issue. Rather than hearing the concern or working toward a solution, the situation escalated quickly. The manager told me to leave or the police would be called for CRIMINALLY TRESSPASSING, and that is exactly what happened. Police were called over a return. I tried to de-escalate and offered reasonable solutions (exchange or completing my purchase), but the manager declined and stayed focused on denying the return and calling the police to have us removed for CRIMINAL TRESSPASSING! Even the responding officer looked at the rug and attempted to find an amicable resolution. My daughter, who was not involved in the interaction, was also threatened with trespass, which was upsetting and unnecessary. This should have been straightforward customer service: 1. The item was not in acceptable condition and the condition was against their own donation policy. 2. It was packaged in a way that prevented inspection 3. A reasonable review could have resolved it Instead, it escalated into a situation involving publicly funded law enforcement over a defective item. As a nonprofit serving the community, I would expect a greater emphasis on resolving issues directly rather than relying on public resources to shut down a legitimate concern. For a place called Bella's Voice, it was surprising how quickly the conversation was shut down. The executive director has chosen to ignore my formal complaint. Photos are attached so others can judge the condition for themselves.

She ignored me. I asked again, and she said "no. I am stocking the shelves. You will have to wait." Shocked, I let her know there were things I needed that were blocked by the trolley. She bizarrely smiled at me and said, "I'm stocking the shelves, and you'll have to wait." Me: "Why can't you just move this out of the way for a minute? I want to see if I can find what I'm looking for." She then, rudely, said, "No, I am stocking items." I was shocked and let her know I thought she was rude. She loudly replied that I was rude! I asked her for the manager and wasn't surprised when she told me, "I'm the manager. Too bad for you!" I told her again how unprofessional she was, and she again repeated, "You're rude." Then she got in my face - about 10 inches away - again telling me I was "rude." I reminded her that she is not the owner of the store and her employers might want to know how unprofessional and rude she is with customers. She then accused me of "throwing things" around and bizarrely pointed to cameras that had caught my alleged bad behavior. I got stuck between the trolley and the cosmetics wall because she would not move it and there was no space for my feet. I felt as if I might fall, but luckily I didn't. I moved the trolley myself after she refused and finally backed away from me. I was then able to look at the items I wanted without her blocking my access. I purchased a few items so I would have proof that this altercation occurred and that Dollar Tree has an abusive, unprofessional manager in Lynnwood. While paying, the cashier - not shockingly - ignored me! As I left, I reminded her that the employees should be thankful for paying customers, since everyone is aware of shoplifters at Dollar Tree. I got my receipt and left. At home, I filled out the survey on the receipt and gave the store a poor rating. I emailed their customer service team to report my awful shopping experience at the Lynnwood, Washington, store. This was one of the weirdest experiences I've had. If this older white woman truly is the manager, she should be fired immediately for being rude, bizarre, and threatening. I will not go back until the "manager" is fired.

COMPLETELY INEXCUSABLE, whether it was an employee or the employees not stopping someone else in there from doing it. 2) Prior to getting to the side of the store, 4 aisles were blocked by boxes/carts/restocking. Again, TOTALLY INEXCUSABLE. This was, what, 1/4 of the aisles being inaccessible mid day on a Sunday? Do you want your customers to be be able to shop, or not? I'm guessing either your corporate policies (that allow this) are trash or the employees at the store were not following a sensible policy that would dictate when and how to stock shelves so customers can still access things. Either way, I am not visiting again.

The store offers a variety of items in addition to clothes and shoes and we have purchased merchandise from each of the sections at some point or another. Food items have been especially fun to test out and sometimes I have gotten hooked on items I have only found here. On my most recent visit, today Friday 8 December 2023, I found the shelves well stocked and ready for the 2023 Christmas season. Looking for some gift items, I was reminded of how much fun it is just to look and see what is on the shelves. The different sections were easy to navigate and I enjoyed perusing the offerings. I got a seasonal reindeer 3 kitchen towel set as well as Reese's pieces themed socks for less than $20.00 with tax. The interior of the store has been updated since I was growing and retains a warm and welcoming feel.

Immediately what sticks out to me about Deseret is how clean and well kept up it is. Goodwill especially is notorious for this where at many of them it seems like a gust of wind blew through the aisles and things are scattered all over the place and picked over. To be fair certain sections such as the toys and the otherwise 'brick-a-brack' sections do look like this here and other places, but at least it looks like here at Deseret they have people that come and try to neaten it up or zone it. Another thing about Deseret that's unique and I like is with the piles of shirts I'm sure they get, they try to color code them and hang them so if you're looking for that certain color you can simple walk over and sift through shades of yellow or green t-shirts for example as they're hung up and separated from the rest of the assorted t-shirts. The store seems to be decently staffed and seems evident by how clean it generally is here. From what I understand they hire people of less means or recently released offenders for work which is nice. My company actually has one of our clients volunteer here so I appreciate them for that. The one flaw I've found here is the shoe section is not well presented. You have to "eyeball" the shoes for size as there isn't a tag or other easily identifier of size on them. They also seem to pretty much be mixed - womens, mens, baby, child... it could use improvement. I've visited Deseret a few times and although I've yet to score any nice finds here, I do enjoy the ease of browsing here and the prices are surprisingly decent considered the spike in many thrift stores inventory in favor of profits. If you too are a thrifter, stop in for a look.

I have driven by this place so many time, but never dropped in. Today, I decided to pop-in. Service is great, the people there want to help and everyone seems to have a smile on their face. Selection, feels pretty good. I came early morning, after dropping off the kiddo at school. I could tell there were regulars, the early bird pickers who know what to look for. A bunch of the customers, somehow knew each other's names and yeah... I guess I was the stranger shopper today. Anyway, the prices aren't bad, I picked up a Timbuk2 bag, in pretty good condition for $3 bucks, and a couple blu-rays, $2 bucks each. Honestly, pretty good deals. I only buy things that I would use, so I don't know what resell values of things are, but feels like if you came here enough, you would find some good deals. So there, it's not scary, and if you don't care about the religion of the people who run the place, this should be on your list of thrift stores to visit.
