I prefer going to the other 99 Ranch Market location on Nogales since the parking situation is just a little bit better (more parking space in that plaza and not as many businesses so it doesn't get as chaotic). It's particularly a grand PvP zone on weekends, especially since there's so many dining options and restaurants here. Just like the other 99 Ranch Market location, this entire plaza is getting a face lift to be cleaner and more modern looking. The insides of the market are still the same. A bit aged and disorganized, but the disorganization is probably due to all of the people taking things and just putting them in random spots when they don't need it anymore. Decent selection in the produce, cooking ingredients, and snacks. I feel like this location is smaller than the other one as well and a bit more cramped and claustrophobic. It does its job like every other 99 Ranch Market, but there's better options out there. read more

Never in my life have I gotten such horrible service from this place until now. The man with a blue hat working at 6:20pm 7/12/26 in the fish area. I was there waiting for him to finish cutting his fish and while I was waiting, this couple started waiting too. The man served the couple first but that was alright since I wasnt raising my hand or anything. Once they were done, I raised my hand and after, he noticed this other man who JUST got there who raised his hand too. The worker saw the man who raised his hand (and arrived) after me, looked me dead in the eyes and shrugged before serving that other man. While he was serving this other man, another woman came. This worker proceeded to serve this new woman, after watching and knowing how long ive been waiting. All I wanted was 2lb of shrimp while these people are getting their fish cut and served that took forever. After waiting after all that, I left the area until another man with a red hat came and finally got my shrimp. I have never had a experience like this in any grocery store, especially 99 ranch since this is my main one. On the way home from a favorite sushi restaurant in nearby Hacienda Heights, we popped into this location, my first visit, in search of a particular peach tea my other half swears by. For some reason, it has become elusive, and H-Mart seems to have stopped stocking it. Moreover, not all 99 Ranch locations have it either, which proved to be the case here. I wandered around, checking things out, especially the fresh seafood. While smaller than other locations, the selection looked good. I commented to an employee behind the counter that things looked good, but his silent glance back was less than friendly, borderline hostile. Tone it down a notch fella'! This used to be a Stater Brothers grocery market before being bought out and changed to 99 Ranch Market. The bakery was not as complete as other Ranch 99 stores. The store is clean, organized, and the cashiers are very friendly, even if you do not speak Mandarin Chinese. This location is definitely a lot smaller than most of the other ones nearby. Not sure why since 99 Ranch is always known to be a supermarket giant. But since this one is closest to me, I come here when I just need some basic items. They do carry some vegetables here that other asian stores nearby might not. And its a great place to go for bakery items and chinese bbq. The roast duck is always delicious, and they always pack up half portions for you to grab and go. I also like that they offer fish frying services here as well. In terms of meat selection, it's not the best nor the most variety. Overall, just a smaller location for basic goods. P.S. Location wise it's good, but service......I would go to Resco that's 3 mins away. The cashiers always look mad during work, and look like "why you shop here to make me to work"..... no Hi no bye no greetings...I asked the cashier to add a shopping bag to by bill when I checked out. She just charge and push the shopping bag with all the items to the end of her station told me to pack by myself......they should send the employees to train in Trader Joe's, see how their employees service the customers. The smell in this store is much stronger than other asian stores for some reason. From this experience, prefer the one in San Gabriel or on Nogales. Parking is easy, and prices are okay. It is actually very identical to the 168 market across the street (I went there right after, love going to supermarkets). You can get your typical asian snacks here, there is a hot foods and bakery corner. As for the seafood area, there is an abundance of sea critters crowding the tanks, but the butcher was less than welcoming. I requested for 2 small crabs and 1 large one. He asked me to repeat it so I said "2 small, 1 large" He ended up getting me 3 small crabs, but oh well. However, when I got home, I noticed 1 had a significantly tiny claw and body.. (refer to picture) I'm used to catching my own crab at the Rosemead supermarket, but today ah learnedd, check mah goods and make sure you get what you request. read more

But the taste and texture of this Fruit Flavored Beef Jerky ( which is made in the USA...yeah I know...confusing) has made an indelible mark in my childhood for many years. The place has some great Asian ingredients that are hard to find at a traditional grocery store. I've never had a problem with the fresh produce that I buy here or canned goods or spices. They really do come in clutch when I have to buy last-minute red envelopes. Parking seems pretty plentiful but the parking spots are really small and there doesn't seem to be a lot of care in regularly making sure that the parking lot is clear. There are always shopping carts everywhere and the only place to put them is some very hard-to-see segments along the front curb. It's possible that the clientele also isn't prone to being courteous about putting the carts away, but it's always a mess when I come. A lot of tasty restaurants nearby too, so I've frequently eaten at a restaurant before doing my grocery errands. Overall, I'm glad this grocery store is here. It's not my favorite, but I do like being able to get things I can't get from Vons or Stater Bros on the way home. read more

Really nice Chinese market in La Habra area with quite a broad variety of items ranging from meats, fish to many types of produce and fruits, to fresh baked goods, dry goods and spices. The store has a fishy stale odor to it which is less than welcoming, perhaps because they had live fish packed together swimming in tanks which we found a bit cruel. Not as big as the one on Nogales St. that I tend to go but I will shop here out of convenience because it is closer to our house. Parking isn't too much of an issue but can be on holidays and special events. As you enter, to the right, is their bakery where you can pick up breads not too sweet freshly made. Other pastries that are not caked with sugars and frostings but flavorings of red bean, taro, pineapple and such. Wonderful. Continuing on you will come into the vegetable and fruits. The quality over all is up there. Sometimes it's very good, other times not so good but still good to get if eaten within a day or two. Once you get through that, you are in the seafood area. My favorite area. You'll first see the large aquariums holding the live fish and lobsters. Right below them in cold holding areas are the crabs, clams, etc. You know they are taking care of their product, or trying to, because you don't have the fishy smell. I do love how they offer services free of charge. Scaling and cleaning is very good but I love how they will deep fry the fish for you. Make my own sauce or pickled veges and I feel like I'm eating like a king. The rest of the isles are filled like other grocery stores but stocked with products from all over Asia and Southeast Asia. You'll find these products competitively priced and American brands you recognize highly priced. Customer service is spotty at best which is saying alot compared when they first opened up decades ago. Times are changing and they realize not all their customers are Chinese. And, as a good business they have a goal to grow. read more

The lady asked me for my rewards number and after I gave it to her she couldn't find it. I then asked if I did have one, but I don't mind renewing a new one. I recently bought a few of their pre-packaged sides, their bean curd in sauce and then there was the "veggie delight." As I got home from the 99 ranch market, I immediately was thrilled and opened up my ready-to- eat meals and literally started preparing a bowl of fresh homemade 99 ranch market branded rice so I can start chowing down on my vegetarian/vegan goodies. I started up Netflix, put some fresh rice on a bowl and opened up my meals. Then the moment I put a few pieces of this "veggie delight" on my bowl I noticed as I turned my fork over holding a piece that there was some vegan friendly MOLD! YUM! I immediately turned over and checked all the other soy pieces and 70% of this whole veggie delight was spotted with mold, all hidden under the soy bits making it not visible to consumers when stored for sale. I literally opened the packaged meal the moment I got home. They obviously failed to do their routine quality assurance measures on their pre packaged meals! I would suggest being EXTREMELY cautious when purchasing their in house pre packaged items from this 99 ranch market location. I flipped! Appetite was gone. Mood was killed. Luckily I did my own quality assurance check before putting a damn piece in my mouth because I probably would've turned into a zombie! So for all you Department of Public Health inspectors (hell even CDC) out there reading this, I may have found you a hotspot! I spent about $327 worth of groceries (a lot of items to bag) the other day and ended up having to bag my own groceries. I payed for their bags, too. I don't know if it was just early and they didn't have people bagging, or if it's just their policy now. Just last night I noticed their fresh rice noodles were not. I opened it up about to place them into a new bowl of Pho broth I just made when my wife notices some green moldy spots in the middle. We had to throw away the entire bag. Luckily the second bag of noodles were not moldy. I wish they would have a better way of handling the meat at the butcher section. It's nasty getting raw pork blood on your hands when buying from the counter because they don't package the meat properly. When I got home there was pork blood all over the exterior of the bag and on other raw food items. Most good butcher sections at American stores wrap the meat in butcher paper, then bag it. 99 Ranch staff just throw meat into a plastic bag and tie a price label around it. I hate buying meat or seafood here because of this. It's always a gamble on whether you're going to get nasty fish/pig juice on your hands when buying here. read more

Rude front cashier. This lady with glasses is clearly not a happy person and shouldn't work with customers. I almost walked out of the store and leave all the groceries. But honestly, i stayed because my 3 years old really wanted his banana. I am normally a calm person but I raise my voice because she raised her voice at me. There was confusion on whether an item that my family handed to me was paid. Doesn't matter what the situation is, customer service should always be nice and polite to the customer. I bought fresh soy milk and was not fully stocked so I had to reach on the back and was very far for someone who is 5'1. Imagine elders. My husband attempted to ask an employee a question and as he spoke to her she continue to walk on by without acknowledging him. I bought peanut cookies which was already packaged and soy milk. Soy milk had a funny taste and smell. Peanut cookie was molded. It left me feeling sick. It looked fine but actually eating it left me a bitter gooey after taste that lingers a whole day. I vomit once and the taste was still there even used mouthwash twice. Called and ask about return policy....they don't accept open item even if it made you sick. Smh.
