Best way to shop fresh! Great Asian Market! Their products and food items are so interesting love the quality

I was here at 2:45pm on a Saturday and got into the store at 4:05pm. Not only was the line long to get in, they also close at 5pm. Knowing there is high demand, they should add more cashiers, extend the hours of operation or find a way to make the line move faster. I'm not certain that I would come back, certainly not on a Saturday afternoon. Having said that, their abundance of green leafy vegetable was impressive; fully stacked and good quality. read more

Food court needs to improve. They should have more food stalls with more choice. I think that will bring more people in. The supermarket itself is great. Only problem I have is the coupon they give out when you spend over $40 - the expiration date is too soon. My coupons always expire because I don't go back in time. read more

This place is good with a lot of options, but the smell inside is absolutely disgusting. As soon as I entered there was a pungent fish odor and this present everytime I visit the store. I understand they have a fish market but still it is just way too strong, I have never smelt anything like this in another store. Really would like the management to clean that up. read more

I would have given four stars but the smell of fish that permeates the store was not very pleasant to me. I went for bubble tea and was not disappointed! I got the classic bubble tea (very good!) and stayed for the really fresh veggies at bargain prices! I got a tray of sugar snap peas for $1.25 compared to $4 at Trader Joe's. Not sure why the reviews are low for this place. The prices for many items are lower than in other Asian markets (except Chinatown). They also carry many Korean and Japanese goods. Their produce is fresh and they carry items you won't see elsewhere like lettuce stems. The seafood place will even deep fry the fish for you. They don't have a large variety of rice, mostly Jasmine and the cheaper brands of white rice. They have entire aisles just for noodles, one for sauces, etc. They even sell alcohol but you can't drink it in the store. The takeout places are a little confusing, the hot foods bar at the very end charges by the container size, not by weight (for now), try to stuff as much as you can. The bakery has a nice selection and is fresh. There is a nice large seating area next to the prepared foods. Although it's more than Chinatown, it comes out cheaper if you include the tolls/parking/subway/time to get there. read more

Was happy with this location until 2 incidents and their customer service was terrible. First when I found mold inside their $25 frozen crepe cakes and was told that I had to respond within 7 days. It is a frozen cake, so you don't need to defrost it to serve until you are ready, that can be after 7 days. Second, recently their BBQ meats gave entire family except grandfather (vegetarian) food poisoning, took over 4 days to start to feel better. They said it might be something else we ate, it was within 2-3 hours of eating their BBQ meats, rice and veggies also bought from them and rest of family got sick. Their excuse was if no one else complained then it was not the BBQ meat and also that we did not call right away, excuse me for not calling while I was puking up your BBQ meats and sick for over 4 days afterwards. I told them that I buy weekly and this was first time we got sick but apparently it doesn't matter if loyal customer gets food poisoning after paying $35 plus weekly basis for just your BBQ prepared food. I did notice recently that the steel containers and liquid they hold the braised prepared meat is not hot and the hanging food is sometimes so cold that the grease has congealed as droplets hanging from the duck, chicken, roast pork and honey BBQ pork. I am glad at least my 90 year old grandfather did not eat and get sick but their customer service is more interested in saving face than making sure customers do not get sick, no apologies, no concern. Just told us that we have to call next time and that no one else complain, maybe they were too sick to complain as well or know it was pointless to tell store customer service since they would be dismissive. I don't want to complain to health dept. and penalize store for bad customer service but at same time people can get severely sick or die from food poisoning. read more

This review pertains to the dim sum station and the Malaysian restaurant only. This place was a much needed addition to Bergen County. I am very happy with the convenience of having an Asian market nearby however, I was very unhappy with the dim sum station for a few reasons. First off, they were missing many many dishes that are part of a typical dim sum menu e.g. meat balls, rice crepes (stuffed and unstuffed). The cost of $2.90 for three pieces of each selection is reasonable in my opinion. $1.00 per piece if you dont make the minimum 3 pieces is fine too but you have to watch the register as the cashiers are lazy and assume you took three of each item. I was just charged for three pieces of two different items even though I only took two of one and one of the other. The line was long and to me, the extra $2.80 was not worth the fight and time even though I pointed out her error. The food at the Malaysian restaurant called Penang was acceptable but what you get for the price was very much lacking. I hope things get better at their food court. Can't wait to try the Ma Lat place that is opening up. read more

This is the absolute worst supermarket, anywhere. "Customer service" is non-existing, disrespectful and degrading to customers. The young man who masquerades as the Manager is abusively rude to its customers, clearly enjoys his power trip and lords over other employees who are scared of him. I witnessed several heated arguments between him and customers. Once, he berated a customer for "stealing" additional plastic bags, which would never happen in any other supermarket. The produce and fruits frequently gather mold a day after leaving the store, which shows that beneath the deceptively clean exterior, the products are substandard and handlers do not practice food hygiene, a fact that I have personally observed. The store has the absolute worst exchange and refund policy, making up rules as they go along. The store is way over-priced comparatively. Frankly, if Flushing and Chinatown weren't marred by the pandemic, I am surprised people would go there. My wife and I will never return to this store, even though we loved the ones in California, where they treat customers as human beings. read more

I am happy with the huge selection of Chinese and other Asian food. However for a new store that is packed, the fresh vegetables and fish aren't the freshest looking. Those are usually the staples of Asian supermarkets. Variety of ice popsicles is unbelievable! I felt like I was in a Taiwan 7-11. Will go back and wish they will address the freshness issue.
