Run! The Ranch 99 mini totes are here! I got a light blue and a yellow one! So cute! Also learned that the deli coupons are now awarded after every $40 purchase... it used to be $20. The parking is tricky here during peak hours since the market shares a lot with so many popular restaurants and tea houses. Be patient and prepared to circle a few times.

Just got home from getting some bread. Was excited to try the Mille layer toast but the moment I opened the packaging, first thing I noticed was the MOLD!! Date on the packaging says that it should be good for 5 more days. Ugh!! Annoying and disappointing!

I love that this 99 Ranch Market offers many Seafood options!!!! There are definitely a wide range of selections of Asian Tropical Fruits, Fresh Produce, Meats, Spices, And Many Authentic Seasoning Sauces!! Nice Bakery section, Hot Food, Dumplings, Dim Sums, and plenty of delicious items ready to-go! Yum!!! Plenty of Everything, for all your International ingredients, and a very Authentic Asian Grocery store destination.

I was itching to make some fried rice, so I stopped by 99 Ranch grocery store on Hostetter Road in San Jose. No lines and no crowds during weekday morning 9:30am-10:30am hour. Nice. Cashiers were all ready to ring customers up, but there weren't too many people inside yet. Took my time to browse around for meats and sauces. Wow, $0.99 per pack Indonesian cooking sauces/food marinades. Deal! I picked up a bit of everything. I usually pay $1.50-$2.99 for a pack of good Asian cooking sauces. I ended up making Indonesian Nasi Goreng fried rice and the sauce did not disappoint. Strong in flavor and yummy. I will cook the Rendang Beef tomorrow. Good red meats at 99 Ranch are always highest in prices. Tofu section has wide selections. I usually go with 5-spices tofu or extra firm tofu which is highest in nutrients. Inexpensive. Chicken breast was affordable, but you will notice that all meat packages have smaller sizes & quantities in them. For Asian groceries and ingredients, this location is convenient for sure. You can run errands at USPS/post office, Costco, restaurants, and more. I used to visit more often when working in the area. Not much has changed. Busy streets and intersections. 99 Ranch is a must for most Asian grocery shoppers who cook at home. They have everything here. Downside? Yes, it's always busy and crowded during peak hours plus lunch & dinner hours. Parking spaces are not easy to find on most days and it's easy to run into people wandering around who aren't looking, so be careful. Highly congested area at times. Old building hasn't been renovated and it's dark most of the time. High prices all around. Interior is always freezing cold. Front entrance area is a bit tight in spaces and lots of customers are waiting for BBQ meats/boxed hot food items, etc. It's still great to have a 99 Ranch here though.

Extremely busy grocery store and full parking lot, especially on the weekends. Your standard Asian supermarket much like Lion's and Marina, but a little cleaner and more organized. I do feel the prices are slightly higher than most Asian grocery stores. The bakery at this location is not aesthetically as pleasing as the other 99 Ranch locations. It's crowded and cluttered. With that said, I did try some of the cheesecake flavors behind the glass and they were all right. Nothing to write home about but not bad either. Standard prices for baked goods. Also picked up an egg tart and a taro pastry (芋頭酥). Both were standard in taste.

Date: Tuesday, October 1st, 2024 Time: around 6:45pm *Glico Pocky Chocolate ($4.29) *Samyang Cheese Buldak Cup Noodle ($2.99) *Meiji Yan Yan Strawberry ($0.99) *Meiji Yan Yan Chocolate ($1.99) *Yumei Fish Filet Spicy ($12.99) *Jane Jane Frozen Fish Ball with Roe ($3.69) x2 The hubby and I were in the area picking up dinner. Since I adore a good Asian market, we decided to stop by Ranch 99. Earlier in the day, we stopped by a Korean market and I wanted to grab some fish balls with roe. Since we were still hours away from home, I decided not to purchase them. Instead, I got them here. A little hard to find since they were covered up by other products, but I eventually found them with all the other frozen balls. The rest of the items we purchased were totally random. Decided to try a buldak cup noodle flavor I've never had before. And an instant fish hot pot thing. (Or at least that's what I think it is. Haven't tried it yet.) The hubs wanted sweets, so he grabbed the Pocky and Yan Yans. If I were closer to a Ranch 99, I'd probably frequent more often. They always give you coupons for your next purchase. (I have never used these.) Til next time! REVIEW #3578

This review is for cold deli section. I bought the spicy hot beef shank and tendon for $15. I brought it home and try it right away, it tasted foul and sour like it s been days while the label says sell by tomorrow. So confused so i called them but their number does not work !!! talking about customer service NONE! If you buy their food and get into trouble i guess noone will take responsibility:/ Never buy deli prep food again

Stopped by 99 Ranch Supermarket last night for an evening grocery run. The store has plenty of parking, and the shopping carts are newer, which was a nice touch. They had a good selection of fresh vegetables, sliced meats, fish balls, and some solid sale items like kimchi and Korean tofu. The store itself is cleaner than other Asian markets I've been to, which was appreciated. However, I ran into an issue at checkout--two of the sale items rang up at full price. I had to show the ad to get the correct pricing, which was a bit frustrating. It would be better if they were more consistent with their advertised deals. Overall, a decent shopping experience, but double-check your receipt if you're buying sale items.

I did not like giving a business 1 star. Very disappointed. I bought some quail eggs packs in a rush for crab soup. I went home opened the cases, realized one of the case got really bad spoiled eggs. Chalky shell and odor with mold. Why selling this to customers? This is ridiculous. Please see picture. This stuff is very easy get spoiled they must did a lousy checking. I wonder the quality of their other products in the store. Since they did not checking the eggs maybe other products, then i should have the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service check it for them. I did not want to go back return it since it wasn't worth it, but want to let shopper know so they can avoid.

I told them I wanted 120 Pacific oysters and the worker brought it out right away. They were $120 but since I used my card to pay, they tacked on $5 to the price. They have newspapers on the side that you can use to put in ur car so the water from the oysters doesn't get on the car carpet. The oysters were really good and tasted fresh. The staff here are really nice and helpful too. They even give you complimentary containers of their salt rub. My partner and I specifically come here specifically for their Picanha steaks which are extremely high quality and affordable. They're great to cook using the reverse sear method or grill like they do at Brazilian steak houses. They taste fantastic with chimichurri or even just with flaky salt because of how buttery the steaks are on their own. The last time we were here, we got 10 steaks for around $150 and we seriously thought we'd be spending way more. Of course the cost will depend on what you, like the prime rib here is very expensive, but weigh out your options! I do think everything else here seems to be a great price for the quality compared to mass grocers. I'd highly recommend anyone to check out this shop!

I'm used to typical straightforward nature at markets, but their attitude is something else. I was constantly berated while looking at mangos near the door. Literally the whole time, an employee was standing right next to me and nagging me as if I was about to topple all the fruit off the stand or completely obstructing the door. I wasn't, and it's absolutely normal to sort through and select fruit? These mangos are EXPENSIVE, I don't want to just blindly pick a box. When I asked if I should pay outside or inside at the cashier (since some grocers will have you pay for outside merchandise, outside), she rudely asked if I was blind and couldn't see the cashier. I asked the cashier about this behavior (in Vietnamese) and was entirely ignored. Literally not a single word said. Not sure why I hadn't just left at this point, but I bought 6 large, rather expensive, boxes. I truly regret it because even THEN, they made me feel like a nuisance for setting them down outside as I carried them 2-by-2 to my car on the other side of the parking lot. There are no carts and I'm not exactly the strongest body builder out there, not sure what they expected of me. I regret spending my money here. The vegetables looked fresh, vibrant, and were packaged neatly. However, I did notice there were fewer juice and smoothie options than expected. Similarly, the meat and seafood sections were on the smaller side. There were standard cuts of beef and pork alongside a few marinated options, though less commonly used cuts were noticeably absent. There were reasonably priced salmon and tuna blocks available, but the selection of other fish and crustaceans was limited. That said, the seafood on display looked fresh, fatty, and high quality. There was a wide assortment of Asian frozen products and prices were noticeably a few dollars cheaper compared to other grocery stores nearby. As a dumpling and dim sum lover, I found myself gravitating toward the frozen section for quite some time. While most brands leaned Korean, there were still a variety of different Asian cuisines represented. There was also a bakery built into the store and the cakes looked beautiful. Most whole cakes were priced around $40. Unfortunately, the fried pastries were unavailable during my visit so I was unable to try the croquettes. The packaged baked goods also were not fully stocked despite my morning visit, which was one area that could be improved. I did enjoy the roasted sweet potato station though, which gave this corner of the store a warm and inviting smell. The prepackaged meal section was easily the most impressive part of the store. Dumplings, noodle dishes, and rice bowls were mostly priced under $10 and were generously packed with proteins and toppings. The banchan selection leaned heavily vegetable based, though I would love to see more seasoned protein options in the future. There was also a fried chicken station where customers could order individual pieces. The kimchi dumplings were plump and generously filled. The japchae was simple but satisfying, though I would not have minded a heavier hand with the sesame oil. The sushi was neatly prepared and the quality honestly felt comparable to what I would expect at a restaurant. Overall, this is a great market although I would not consider it a true one stop shop. I would likely pair this visit with another grocery store for a wider fruit and protein selection. However, this will absolutely become one of my preferred stops whenever I want convenient and affordable ready made meals.
