We have been going to the Milford 99 for years. Always enjoy dinner at the bar. Servers are friendly and attentive. Tonight was no different...except. I am on a special diet and ordered the colossal lobster roll without roll or fries. Instead asked for cole slaw and the bistro salad with my meal. Bartender comes over and says we ran out of bistro salads and coleslaw so they are making more. Do you want to wait until they are ready for your meal to come out? I reply, well is my husband's meal ready? He states, yes. Both are on the warmer. ME: (UGH) We will take both now. So later he tells me I can have any dessert on the menu as a compensation for the inconvenience. GREAT! I CAN'T HAVE SWEETS! I finally convinced my husband to just take the dessert but it was frustrating and ridiculous that they didn't have a side salad or cole slaw available since they are popular sides! And to top it off, the 'collossal lobster (no) roll consisted of approximately 2-3 oz of lobster meat plopped on the plate. 2 stars because the bartender was very good and felt bad. read more

We've been to this restaurant many times. About 95% of the time it has been okay. Recently the meals have noticeably decreased in size while the price has remained about the same or has increased, too. 4 days ago we went there. When we were waiting to be seated, a couple who had ordered takeout came in to tell them the french fries in their meals were not even cooked. I've never had takeout, so I just thought, hmmm...interesting. We were seated in the area next to the bar. They were several LOUD customers in the bar. They were doing the wave and laughing and talking LOUDLY. They were having fun. However, the 99 is NOT a bar. The rowdiness factor was too much. Our waitress, the manager, and other staff were smiling and laughing with the bar customers. When the waitress came over to take our order, I had asked if we could have a different table, because it was too loud. She paused and said okay she would check. As she turned to walk away, I caught her rolling her eyes. (Really, honey?) So she comes back and takes us to the other side of the building where we do not hear the bar. Great. She leaves. It takes her about 15 minutes to come back to get our order when we were ready to place our order at the prior table. We had even assumed that we would have had a different waiter or waitress because of the location. But she comes back and we order. Very shortly after that, two elderly women are being seated in the booth behind us. They had relocated, too, because of the noise at the bar. (Gee, 99, maybe just maybe, you should do a better job of keeping the rowdiness to a respectful level.) Our waitress had them, too. So, I had ordered the baked scallops, which I have had there many times and have enjoyed. This time was terrible! The scallops are normally in a little baking dish tightly packed with breadcrumbs/seasoning on top. This time, the scallops were haphazardly in the dish with virtually NO bread crumbs/seasoning. There is NO WAY that the waitress (name begins with an H) could not have noticed. She drops the dishes and leaves. We don't see her for quite some time. I ate about 1/3 of the scallops and stopped. They were flavorless and tasted like that they had come from a can. The waitress finally returns. She does not ask us how everything was. She does not ask us if we would like coffee. She does not ask us if we would like dessert. She does not ask me if anything was wrong with my more than 50% uneaten scallops. She simply asks if we need boxes for leftovers. BItch! So, we waited for her to return to pay her. She doesn't. So we get up and then wait at the hostess stand where no one was. A nice woman comes over. I hand the check and the cash and explain to her how our experience was. She was very nice and very apologetic. She assured me that she would tell the manager. H-----r got a very small tip for which we were still too generous. Food wise I don't know if the 99 was having an off night. Perhaps an inexperienced cook was in charge? There is zero excuse for H----r. Most of the wait staff is very nice. We have been thinking of trying the Red Heat Tavern in Milford. Now we have a strong incentive to do so. If the food is better, they will get our business and not the 99. read more

Ordered food for curbside. THAT at least worked. The food however, not so much. The wings were so thick with the crunchy batter. Not even tasty. The steak tips were far too salty. You should let the diner salt the food and not overdo it because thats how you cook beef. Last time I order a Tbone and it was so tough and salty. Definitely wont be going back. Sorry. read more

Had a great experience when I was here last week with my two daughters and father. The manager sat us in a spacious booth with plenty of room for my rambunctious 2 year old daughter. Good service was a little slow that night and instinctually the manager brought over cheese and crackers for he hungry daughter. Her service was top notch. I wish I remembered her name. Bar was full so they seated us at a table in the worst traffic area where all servers pass...when other empty booths were available. After waiting 5 minutes with no server greeting us and taking drink order, but 6 walking by us back and forth, I got up and went to host (looked like Jack Black) if we could move to a less crowded booth. We moved to the booth and waited another 15 minutes with no server coming to our booth to acknowledge us. Meanwhile, a large family with 6 kids, 8 altogether got seated , got drinks and put in their food order. Had to get up and leave...told hostess why we were leaving and she says...what table wereyou at....I said..."does it really matter?"...as we walked out. I like the consistency, value and quality of The 99 food and especially their bar...however, this store isn't up to the chains otherwise decent reputation. read more

I have no qualms with other 99's but this one has a fantastic track record of just sucking eggs. Got a burger to go today, the pickles were slimey and had film on them, along with the tomatoes, and the red onions, almost like Parmesan cheese and oil, left a film in my mouth and on my hands that finally came off with rubbing alcohol. The vermont cheddar burger had the tiniest hint off bbq sauce and maybe 1 saute onion, the burger itself had bits of slimey lettuce wilted into the hardened cheese. read more

I have been coming here since moving to Milford 8 years ago. It was the first place in America that my step children had their first taste of American food. Last night we went and my wife got a hair in her burger. Yum! Not so hungry after that but I finished my meal. as usual. She ended up not eating hers and they took it off the bill which was the right thing to do. We will always go back but I'm sure she will be examining her food more closely for a while. read more

Okay, so I like typical places like the 99, Chilis, however this particular 99 eerked me. I ordered a margarita, and it was decent... I got the steak, and it was cooked perfectly... So why only one star??? THE WAITSTAFF! OMG. I've waited tables before and I was amazed by these waitress/waiters... They would walk by with these miserable looks on their faces... Our waitress must have walked by me about 10 times before she noticed I was trying to get her attention for another margarita... She brings out our food, and not even two bites in she brings us the check!! I was in shock! No dessert, no how is everything, just brings us the check! Like I said, I've waited tables before, and I have NEVER done that. I thought that maybe they were closing or something, and they wanted to rush us out... But people were being seated... and it was only 9:15pm.... Needless to say, I finished what I could of my steak, asked a totally different miserable looking waiter to get me a box, which he did... Normally I dont like to write reviews on chain restaurants but I have to this time. This one of our go to places with the kids. They recently changed their menu to make it look more upscale. Here is my issue...there are NO prices for the wines or the other alcohol on the menu. So, I asked the waitress why. She said she had no clue but if I wanted to know she could ring it in then void it. Seriously? Even the high end restaurants put the wine prices on a menu! It's seems a bit odd & deceptive. It's not like they are selling $12 glasses of wine...but are they? I wouldn't know because they don't tell you. read more

Lunch for two a burger cooked medium please and a black bean burger for me. Took 45 minutes and we know that the time was not spent cooking the 5 ounce burger patty because it was rare throughout! I started going to the 99 restaurant in Milford when I moved here last year. I was very impressed with a young lady and her name is destiny. She was a very good server and she treated me very well. My friend and I when we get together he and I go to the 99 restaurant in Milford for a meal together. I have had nothing but great service from them. I met my future wife in Milford and we started going to this restaurant weekly as a couple and as far as I'm concerned everyone there is great. I'm going to take it even higher everyone there is awesome! There is also a waiter and his name is Matthew who is also a perfect gentleman and a great server. I have met the management that oversees this restaurant and they were all great. There was a time when I brought some friends of mine with me to eat there and normally they don't serve the roast beef until later on during the day. The manager from the kitchen came out and I did not know it was him and he gave us the OK to have it. Matt went in and explained the situation to them. I thought that was very nice of Matt to do that for us. Later on I went into the restroom and I did not know he was a manager of all the the cooks. He is also a great guy. As far as I'm concerned my wife and I love going there. The food is good and also every waiter and every waitress is dynamite. I highly recommend them to you. We were actually going to have a big wedding my wife are having a big wedding after Covid 19 is gone and we have decide to do is invite some of the members from the staff to it! I do highly recommend this restaurant to anyone I want to go for a good meal. read more

Went to the 99 tonight, the resturant was busy so we sat at the bar. We sat there for 15 minutes and watched the bartenders walk back and worth not even looking at us. She waited on a girl who sat down after us and got her a drink but clearly ignored us. So we got up and walked out. On my way out I told the hostess we tried to eat dinner here but the bartender couldn't acknowledge us. Won't be returning here any time soon. POOR MANAGEMENT, you need to train your help. My first time here on a visit to Mass. Waited to be seated for 20 minutes in spite of empty booths within sight of the front desk. After ordering we waited 30 minutes for food with two of our party of four receiving theirs 10 minutes before the other two. The fish, the chicken, the fries were all cooked in the same oil and tasted identical. The barbecued chicken wrap was good. New Orleans shrimp was palatable. Went today for lunch after being stuck in a hotel with no restaurant, so I was looking forward to a good hot lunch. The bartender was great but the food wasn't!! The scrod was rubbery, the potatoes like Elmer's Paste and the broccoli had no flavor. It's what I always order at other 99 locations, so I thought it would be a good choice. Like 99s throughout New England large amounts of good food at reasonable prices. The menu is somewhat limited. Service at this location has been good. Take out is availabe but I find that the quality of the food suffers from sitting in the takeout packaging. The fish and chips is worth the visit. read more

I'm giving it a 3 because my bartender, Julia, was very professional and my lunch was good. But I would usually give it a 5 based on previous experiences with Stephen and Kristin. Today, there were 2 loud, vulgar patrons at the bar who should have been asked to curb it, but the manager actually sat with them for a while and joined in. A couple of the waitresses were talking smack loud enough to be heard across the bar. I come for the food, value and usual pleasant staff. this is your average, every-day 99. nothing wrong, nothing exceptional. our food has always been hot and tasty, and our order correct. we sit at the bar and service is pretty friendly. it's usually pretty busy, but not packed. we like the 99 when we're not in the mood to cook at home (which is rare), and when we want somewhere affordable. read more

We usually get a decent meal, but I guess it depends on what you order. Wife and I went there Weds. night after digging out from the two day snow storm. Waiteress was very friendly, service was great. My wife ordered a burger plate and she said it was great. I ordered the Chicken Pamagian but could not finish it. The chicken tasted like it was fried in old grease to the point that I could not finish it. The ziti was o.k. but overcooked, rubbery. I guess if you want an Italian style dish DO NOT order it at 99 as it tasted more like it came out of a frozen TV dinner. I also ordered the cup of Clam chowder with it, which was very pasty like it was loaded with flour to thicken it up and did not taste like chowder. The roll I received with the Chicken Pam was a little on the tough side too, could not finish that. I usually eat all my serving and then some of my wife's leftovers. Went home very unsatisfied for the cost. Bottom line, order pub food like burgers and beer or go somewhere else. read more

Pretty damn good for a chain restaurant. You know what to expect when you go to a restaurant like this one. You have to use your brain when you order your food, try and pick something taht isnt too hard to cook. I love their chicken breast, And the pot pie is always good and ive tried it in 3 different 99 restaurant and the quality is the same. Dont get steak, you shouldnt get steak in a chain restaurant so like i said, dont be dumb, order chicken, the pot pie and as an appetizer get the moon muzzarela whatever they call it, Also try the steak tips flatbread i love the sauce on this one, Also try the potato skins and the gold fever wings. One tip for you and i cant stress this enough: Do NOT ask for fish or steak in ANY, and i repeat, ANY restaurant, chain or not. Want steak and fish make it yourself the way you like. Otherwise everything else here is amazing and very cheap compared to applebees, fridays, friendlys, longhorn and outback. Also better food for the kids and cheaper too. Love yhis place. Tried in Seabrok NH, Milford MA and Franklin MA. All 3 were great. I recommend it. read more

I went there on my birthday. I had the best service I could ask for, the wait staff was nice friendly and very timely. I would go there again. I come from towns over to go to this 99, I would say it is the best out of all the ones I have gone to. The bathrooms are clean and they seat you fast! I had a wonderful server her name was Kate, gave me a birthday scope of ice cream when she saw my friend was trying to rush me out of the door when I really wanted a desert. Very Cute! Two terrible experiences in a row! We went about 2 months ago 6 adults 1 toddler and was told the wait was about 20 minutes...45 minutes later they sat us at a high top in the bar where my daughters head was under the table in her highchair. Went again this past Sunday, again the wait was at least twice as long as they predicted and despite over half the restaurant being empty they were not seating anyone coming in. We finally sat and waited about 20 minutes before going back to the hostess stand to request a waiter/waitress come to our table. We ordered and the manager came over and said they ran out of the beets on the seasonal salad my mother ordered and more wouldn't be ready for at least an hour. She said it was fine without them and he said she could have a complementary dessert. The salad came out with the uncooked beets on it and when she said something he offered to take the meal off the bill. The bill came with nothing at all comped. Food and drinks took a long time to come and no drink refills were ever offered despite the restaurant being more than half empty. read more
