My husband and I went in on Sunday afternoon. Are meals were delicious, the bartender was nice can't say the same for the owner. The bartender had given us the remote, we watching TV while we had a couple drinks and dinner and he walked right in front of us, put his back to us and put golf on the TV and walked away. He never even asked if anyone was watching. I guess he doesn't believe in customer service, it was all about him. We will be spending our $100 somewhere else the next time! First time here under new ownership. My companion had the Yankee Pot Roast; it was a generous serving which she enjoyed. I had the Seafood Platter with whole belly clams substituted for strips. It was massive; easily enough for two. Actually the best I've had in a long time. The dessert options are incredible; options I've never seen before like Baklava Cheesecake. The only negatives were the a/c was unnecessary cranking way too high and the bartender (owner ?) was loudly reprimanding our server in front of customers; the bar patrons might have been entertained; we weren't and almost left. First time dining here in many years since this restaurant was a local spot for the community and was closed for years. There is a new name and new owners for a couple years now. I sat at the bar and Mike was the bartender. I ordered the black and blue burger with sweet potato fries and a Maine lunch IPA draft . This place is such a disappointment. Same crummy decor from when it was Brian's. Old uncomfortable booths that must be 40 years old. The food is overpriced and underwhelming. One high note was the French onion soup. I would give it 5 stars. I had the baked stuffed shrimp. 4 very small shrimp with lack luster stuffing which I was told was a seafood stuffing but I could taste nothing but breading. My husband had the most overcooked dry cheeseburger which he ordered medium. The waitress was friendly and attentive though we had just started our soup when the meal came. Highest rating with out a doubt !....Today was my first time there and I didnt know what to expect......My server Michael was professional, personable and very informative.....My food was absolutely wonderful and I spoke to both Michael and the Chef expounding my appreciation for the quality and presentation. I write this review with mixed emotions. I came with a small group of friends and my wife. They were all fairly pleased with there meals, and we came because someone in our group had come before and liked it. But this is my review, not theirs. And I feel the 3 stars is the best I can do. Why? First, the slow service. It was ridiculously slow. And it wasnt crazy busy. Frankly, while polite, I didnt get the impression our wait staff has ever worked in a real restaurant before. Our waitress walked past us 4 times saying she would be right with us. It just took forever. They could have at least brought us some bread to munch on. Second, I ordered the bolognese. It was blah at best. The little noodles tasted like they came from a box and the meat sauce from a can. I couldn't get any spice in it at all. You can taste the passion in a well prepared bolognese, and this one was flat. And at $17 I thought the portion was pretty small. Came in a shallow dish. All that said, my friends enjoyed the food, though we joked about the slow service. So I gave 3 stars, and had I been alone it would have been less. Nevertheless I'll probably give it 1 more try for a lunch or maybe an app. I'll update my review accordingly. read more

When there are more staff than customers and you wait ten minutes before getting your beer when the server already brought a soda seems ridiculous. The bartender is leaning on the bar and the owner is keeping himself busy with non customer related activies so I decide to ask for the beer I ordered. After being ignored by both individuals behind the bar and our server disappearing, I say excuse me can I get a beer and charge it to my table? I received this response....Can't you see I'm busy? Well let me give you a piece of advice. You aren't going to be busy if you continue to treat people this way. It took a few years of debating giving this place a try. Glad the only money you got out of us is for the soda. We will NEVER go back and being local, trust me I will be spreading the word on this experience. read more

There were six adults in our party last evening at Grille 122 in Northbridge. Our server was excellent - very accommodating, pleasant, and efficient. All of our meals and drinks were really good. I had the Prime Rib which I like RARE - it was cooked perfectly. One of our party had Steak Tips and raved about them. My husband had Chicken Parm (we had some of that for lunch today and there is still a little left over). I don't remember what the other three meals were, but those plates were empty by the time dinner was over! read more

When this restaurant first opened it was good. Now not so much. Not consistent and overpriced. I am so disappointed. Again we don't have a good restaurant at this location since Brian's. Going down hill fast. Good affordable food shouldn't be that difficult. It doesn't have to be a fancy menu but one that everyone can enjoy and agrees with their wallet. I would give this place zero stars if I could. Called in an order for pickup, was told it would be a roughly 45 minute wait. When I arrive, not a single staff member acknowledges me. Once I finally find someone to tell them I'm here to pick up my order, they direct me to pay at the bar. The waitress behind the bar was incredibly rude to her coworkers and was swearing up a storm because she couldn't find my ticket. Once she does, I promptly pay, and then proceed to wait. And wait. And wait. ANOTHER 40 minutes go by and my food finally arrives (after asking three separate waitresses to please check on my order). One waitress even said to another, "We should probably stop taking online & to-go orders if we can't send them out in time" to which they both laughed. So overall, it took about an hour and a half to cook our meal that ended up being INCORRECT. I will never go here again and wouldn't recommend Grille 122 to anyone. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. Although the wait staff was very nice, the food was very bad. The chicken piccata was in a soup like sauce and the primary flavor was salt. The steak tips were supposed to be medium but were very well done and vinegary. The mashed potatoes were the best of them all, and I am being generous. Been to Grille 122 twice. First time was about a year after they opened. Quesadilla had a piece of wood in it and all the waitress said was "sorry". They didn't comp the meal or anything. Second time was this pass weekend for a family function. Waitress assigned to our party quit and walked out after the baby shower that was held before our family event. We had no waitress as per the function contract, food was lukewarm, beverages were not refilled. Extremely poor service. Complaint call was made and there was no call back from management. read more

Grille 122 is located where the long-time Brian's Restaurant once stood. I'd like to say it has risen from its ashes, but it really just took on a new name with some tastier food. Inside you'll find the familiar, dated interior that Brian's Restaurant once showcased. There have been some minor changes, such as newer light fixtures and painted ductwork, but I'll admit I was taken back to my childhood when I walked in. The old booths, wood paneling, and dated bathroom were all too familiar. To some this will be a pleasant memory of the past. But I'll admit that I found this disappointing, considering the delayed opening of the restaurant and their fresh new website. On the topic of their website, it still says that they're not opened yet, which to me means they're not properly advertising or keeping up with the digital age. It also has these extravagant images that do not match the restaurant at all. Maybe they found them online and decided the fresh look would be attractive to clients (which it did to me). Perhaps that's also feeding my disappointment...led to believe that there's a fresh new look only to take a step into the past. But on the brighter side, their staff was friendly and attentive. I sat at the bar and the lady working there made some recommendations to me, which to me means they're getting more familiar with the new menu. She recommended the Cavatelli Bolognese and Drunken Mussels. I had the Cavatelli Bolognese and I was NOT disappointed! It was a fair portion of food to match it's price, AND it was delicious! The salad and bread that came before it wasn't anything to brag about though. Very basic in that sense which also brought me back to local restaurants in the 90's. But the main dish was definitely worth it. The draft beer was an average price of $6 each, albeit I had a local craft brew. I'm not sure how their pricing is on the domestic stuff or bottles though. Overall, I'd say check the place out. You might like the atmosphere and/or the food. I have a biased perspective having known the previous business. But I'm sure that what's there now won't end up on the Food Network or in Food and Wine magazine unless some big changes take place. It has great potential if only more could be invested into it's appearance and advertisement. I hope they figure it out! Until then, it's just another average joint. read more

I'll start with the one pro: Food was very good at our table, loaded tater tots, Mac and cheese, Fish, Caesar wrap and Chicken Parm. They definitely need some time to work out the kinks with the service, since that was just awful. The wait staff has no idea about the menu items, they brought out our appetizer AFTER our meals were served, and the wait time took ages even just to get drinks brought out. We sat almost 20 mins before we were able to order and get a beverage. Hope they get drink menus eventually (both alcoholic and non) since there is nowhere listed what they even offer. I asked if they had iced tea and was given a smile and "I think so". For a place that has "Bar" listed in their name, their lack of a drink menu baffles me. Will try again in a few months to give them some adjustment time and see if there's an improvement - my guess is Grille 122 needed longer to get itself together before opening the doors. read more

It was ok. Some stuff was pretty good, some was a complete mess. They didn't take the time to teach the wait staff about the dishes, as our waitress didn't know anything about the food or drinks. There were four of us plus a child - Of the four dinners we ordered, two were correct and two were messed up. One order said that it included tortellini on the menu, yet it came with Rotini. Our waitress didn't know what the meal was supposed to come with and didn't know the difference between the two pastas. The entree's took forever to arrive and were just ok. I had a burger, medium, which was charred on the outside and pink and mushy in the middle. The fries seemed generic and store-bought. My girlfriend's salad, while different from how the menu described it, was excellent. The owner showed up and spoke with a couple who had been there longer than us. They explained how long they had been waiting for their meal and his response was a very indifferent "There's nothing I can do". That's the overall theme for this restaurant - You can tell by the generic, soul-less signage and website that the owner (who owns several other restaurants) doesn't really care about the area or the community, instead just looking to make a buck in a lucrative market. We were hoping for something at least as good as Brian's (the previous establishment), and if you use that as the measuring stick you will be disappointed. But the place has only been open a couple of weeks and there is a serious dearth of decent townie restaurants in the area, so we'll give it a couple more shots before giving up. read more

Excellent - Glad I ignored bad reviews. I had a really good NY Sirloin. Came with a salad and a very generous helping of veggies (green beans) that were prepared really well. I also got an order of tater tots. My wife had the fried clams, also generous helping. Advertised as "casual" but it was nicer than some casual places. The piped in music was present but not intrusive. House dressing was even good. Our waitress was named Jessica and we were happy to give a good tip. Glad to have a nice place like this in the valley again. The bar looked clean and welcoming although we didn't go in that part. We also didn't try the deserts because we were absolutely stuffed from the meal and had enough for take home for lunch tomorrow. read more

Ugh. As others have said, this is the former Brian's restaurant. But what some may not know is that before it was Brian's, it was Teddys restaurant. Well the interior has not changed in 40 + years. And that is a major dis-appointment. The interior is so bad that it needs to be gutted and redone. Plus after it was Brian's it sat vacant for many years. And the mold and mildew has set in. I left there feeling itchy and stuffy and just a gross feeling on my skin. The steak was mushy, raw and luke warm. Mashed potatoes were flavorless and cold. Not impressed. Prices seem high for some of the choices for me to risk trying. Wife got the caprese wrap and enjoyed it. I don't remember the name of what I ordered. Linguini seafood and marinara. I can't really review it due to it tasting like the container of red pepper was spilled into it. Good portions though. Service is another issue. Waitress took our order and we didn't see her again until the bartender told her I came up to the bar for refills myself. She didn't even bring our food out to us. Uh check please!! I've been coming here often over the past year and i have to say hands down the best service I ever received at a restaurant, the staff are all awesome. Our server Isaiah, was so personable and funny it put a smile on everyone at the table's faces. The food was amazing and came in a timely manner. Third time in the Grill 122 and will be my last. Why 3 times it's local and really wanted to like this place but very disappointing. This week my wife ordered a special and an I ordered the prime rib. 20 minutes later they told us my wife's special was all out. Then my prime rib so called king cut came out and it was rather small. The major problem was the beef needed a chain saw to cut it. Never again!!!! read more

Went to this place for the 1st time tonight ... what a great surprise! Met the owner, chef and the staff - they were all so nice. The food is made fresh, not the frozen stuff many places have. Ex: I had eggplant parm tonight ... they actually sliced, breaded and fried the eggplant themselves!!! So refreshing not to have frozen Sysco eggplant thrown in the oven or deep fryer. So many good things there, cannot wait until they are back full steam with their specials (lamb shanks, etc the owner told us - yes, he's Greek).
