I was so happy to find a gluten-free friendly Korean restaurant! It's a fast casual place, where you order at one and pick up at the other end of the counter. There is a bussing station in the corner by first counter. I loved that there was a little grocery store/shop of fun foods and tableware. The employee who helped me was very helpful and kind. The food was so fresh and delicious! I was a little disappointed by the pandan mochi's texture, so it didn't hit the spot for me, but that's not made in house. I will definitely remember this very special little place!

Come to Ohsun almost every other week. Had our first Melting Pot lunch here with a group from work where we share about our cultures. The back table was perfect for us six. Service is always so friendly and helpful as people try to make decisions with a cuisine they haven't tried before. Joelle is the best always a smile and friendly greeting making everyone feel at home. We each ordered snacks entree then we added the Kimbap and Japchae to share. Everyone enjoyed their meal some could handle the spice a little more than others. We don't work to far so hopefully I've crested fans who will return!

Incredibly kind and friendly people working. Gorgeous space, delicious and clean food, and fast service. Very happy we stopped here for lunch.

I first tried Korean food at a restaurant when I was in the Army near Newport News Virginia. I'll never forget my perception of the foreign-ness to the food. I remember there was a lot of meat and a fried egg cracked on top. That was over 30 years ago. I tried a lot of different Korean food since with favorites including Bulgogi, and all the meats... Today, I find myself here at Ohsun Banchan for Lunar New Year. I find myself thinking about what a change this has become from my original perception and understanding of Korean food. We got the Bulgogi that came with 3 banchan. My wife loves everything pickled, and I try... I like the cucumbers, but the rest isn't my thing. I want to clarify, I do like Kimshi, just not all things pickled. The Bulgogi and the purple rice was lightly seasoned, but very delicious. I would season more, but I do think we as Americans overseason. Great experience. Thank you Ohsun Banchan.

We tried this place out this past February but just now getting to writing a review. Atmosphere: 5/5 Very clean, hip interior. Adequate seating when we went. You order at the counter and find a seat. Service: 4/5 Service was good, nothing that was exceptional but they were friendly. None of the staff were Korean/Asian, so if you go in expecting to speak Korean to the workers, that won't work (just wanted to mention that in case your native language isn't English). Food: 2/5 We were extremely disappointed - my boyfriend and I are Korean, and this is in no way reflective of real Korean food (atleast the dishes we had). My chicken bibimbap was ok, but my boyfriend's bulgogi braised beef (don't have a picture) was extremely dry and is in no way an accurate representation of what bulgogi should taste. He had a hard time finishing his dish. I think we were extra discontent because of the price point - for two dishes and one side order, it came out to whopping ~$60 (can't exactly remember the price but I'm certain it was that much, my jaw dropped when I heard our total). We are quite astounded at the amount of positive reviews of this place. If you want authentic Korean food, this is not the place to go. I recommend making the trip down to Federal Way for that. I noticed that a lot of these reviews are predominantly from non-Korean people, so take them with a grain of salt. Location: 2/5 Located in Pioneer Square - parking is difficult. It's expected in this area. I want to give this place a 2.5 but I will bump it up to 3 stars.

Gluten free Korean! Bibimbap adapts to season. Fall bowl has squash and different meat options! Spicy tofu is fine, not overly spicy. Salmon crackers were yummy, but not worth $15 for the serving. Lots of fun non-alc drink options (they have alcohol too). Vegan glass noodles have a good portion size. I love the vibe of the inside, perfect for a lunch break! Warm yet bright lighting and high ceilings. Staff is kind.

A very cute, aesthetic Korean deli located in Pioneer Square in Seattle. I came here for a quick lunch but I think it's perfect place for everyone because They have 100% vegan dishes and delicious Korean rice. For some reason Korean rice tastes better than some other rice to me.‍ 100/10 for their food, services and decorations

I wish I could do 4.5 stars here!!!! I came here twice now and both times has met/exceeded my expectations. This place does banchans that you typically can get at restaurants but in bulk or at like hmart, but higher quality, in my opinion. We gotten a couple of things here and I can see myself coming back. The place is really nice and bright and the people are pretty nice. They have food where you can order as well as a refrigerated section where you can do fast take outs. Kimbap - pretty solid - I like the interesting sauce that they have to go a long with it. My only critique was that it was a little loosely wrap so it fell apart after being in my car on the way home. Japchae and marinated squid -- both are super good, you can definitely tell they use high quality ingredients for these and prices are not bad either. Love the flavor and texture of both. I definitely want to try their other dishes and see what they come up next. Parking in pioneer square is a pain but I think that is expected already.

    Spring Bibimbap w/ Beef Bulgogi

Expensive, even for Seattle. I was excited to check out Ohsun Banchan Deli & Cafe for lunch, as this Korean spot is near my office and I love Korean food. But my lunch was incredibly pricey, especially for lackluster food. I visited on a Thursday around lunch time and the place was pretty busy, with many people dining in or getting takeout. The size of the eatery is a decent size for casual dining, such as lunch. But if you're planning for a group outing, you best come soon after it opens. This is the kind of spot where you order and pay at the counter and wait for your food to be prepared for pickup when it's called. I ordered the spring bibimbap and added beef bulgogi, with the gochujang sauce. It was about 10-15 minutes for my food to be ready, which I didn't mind. The spring bibimbap included purple rice, roasted zucchini, garlic soybean sprouts, snap pea microgreens, roasted bell peppers, shredded purple cabbage and perilla leaves. All of these ingredients were good, but $17 is steep. And then when you add protein, or in my case, beef bulgogi for an extra five bucks, then you better hope it's worth the money. But sadly, it was not. The beef bulgogi was very, very dry. Because of so, the taste was bland, so the gochujang sauce served as a saving grace rather than to complement the entrée. The meal wasn't bad, but it's not $22-before-tax-and-tip-good. Not at all. I will not be ordering the beef bulgogi again. In fact, I may just come back to grab already-prepared banchan items as they have a case for choosing. But I'm hesitant to get another meal here for how expensive it is. Oy.

Great spot in Pioneer Square that offers delicious Korean dishes at affordable prices. We had the Banchan Plate with Tofu and some Kimbap. We were quite happy with the taste and quality of all of their dishes. They also do a good job making high quality side dishes. They also seem to support other businesses through their mini mart inside the restaurant and through pop-up events! When we were there they also were hosting pop ups Yuzu Cakes and Drink Grean! It's nice to see they are also supporting fellow small businesses within the community. Would highly recommend!

We walked by this place and we decided to try it out. My friend ordered a bibimbap and I got spicy potato stew. First of, Based of the traditional bibimbap they usually included a fried egg. However this place doesn't. So this place is definitely a fusion. My friends bibimbap plus an egg added up to an total of 24 dollar. I would not say this dish worth this much of money based on the portion and the taste. This does not taste like bibimbap at all. Now to my dish, it is just spicy potatoes with some zucchini with broth plus some rice. Again it doesn't worth the price. Since they claimed it's spicy potato, it was not spicy at all. The whole stew is very bland and it doesn't tasted that good. I also added spicy squid, that one was okay but not the best. I personally will not come back to this place because of the price and taste/portion were not proportionate. This is meh.

Not a terrible occasional pick for a quick work lunch in Pioneer Square. Super quick for to-go orders, and not incredibly expensive. Glad they're here! Even if I still mourn the old Berliner that used to be here I had an order of the Daily Kimbap. It was alright, but it's best quality was that it wasn't one of the usual staples around the area more than that it was good. It was alright. Worth a visit or two to see if fits for you. But be very careful if you want an option with animal protein, most of the menu is vegan.

Ohsun Banchan is such a cute little shop! In addition to having a ton of banchan and dishes you can order, they also have a mini mart inside with various ingredients, tea, chopsticks, and more. We ended up just grabbing some banchan to go, so we can make some korean rice bowls at home, and they were all great! We got kimchi, cucumber kimchi, tofu and broccoli, and the mayak eggs. I love the cucumber kimchi and tofu and broccoli! The tofu and broccoli is pretty light, but I love it like that. I'm a bit picky about kimchi and prefer sweeter kimchi, and theirs is decently sour. It wasn't my fave, but again I'm particular about kimchi! My partner really liked the kimchi. Definitely will be back to grab some more banchan and try their bowls!

The menu and experience differ between lunch and dinner, and this is my lunch review. Simply put, lunch is much more casual and affordable than dinner (You order lunch scanning the QR code at the table). If you're on a budget, you can eat lunch here for less than $20. I went here for lunch twice during my business trip last month and here's what I ordered: - Seafood Tofu Soup - $17.50 - A seafood soondoobu (순두부) with a generous helping of soft tofu, shrimp, mussels and clam, served with rice. Delicious, refreshing and not spicy-I bet they could make it spicy if you asked. I enjoyed the texture from the cabbage bits. - Seolleongtang (설렁탕) - $15.50 - Oxtail bone broth served with potato starch noodles and brisket, comes with salt and green onion already added(typically doesn't at other Korean restaurants). High-quality ingredients and flavor, a great comfort food with a generous serving of brisket. - Shaved ice dessert (빙수) - $9.00 - A great combination of cinnamon, ginger cream and fried rice puffs. Delicious and different than other Korean shaved ice desserts I've had that typically have red bean and overly sweet ingredients. If you're on the fence about coming here, maybe try out lunch first. Lunch is more casual, affordable and simpler than dinner, but is delicious and high-quality. You should come here for dinner too, and I'll post about my dinners here soon.

I dislike the more common 'elevated' where a restaurant makes changes such as swapping meat cuts from traditional recipes to something wagyu without any added thought or creativity in the process. Not at Paju. They are Koreans elevating Korean dishes. The dishes are refined and well-honed. Their creativity shows they know what they are doing. Plating is thoughtful. The restaurant itself is modernly elegant, great for date nights. Note the restaurant is quiet and elegant; perhaps they have a private room for loud celebrations. Staff was helpful with my questions. Food was available in a timely manner. The Food: Octopus, $27 - 5 Stars Served with smoked trout roe and dashima beurrie blanc sauce, this dish is visually attractive and absolutely delicious! One of our top dishes of the night. Paju Fried Rice, $27 - 4 Stars Cooked with kimchi, bacon, squid ink, and quail egg, this dish is one of their most popular dishes. I find squid ink to have a subtle earthy type of sea-umami flavor. The bacon and kimchi are a touch stronger in this combination. It's a good dish, but amongst our five dishes, this one ranked the lowest. Mushrooms, $23 - 5 Stars Served with parmesan cheese shaved so thin it's translucent, white kimchi, and truffle aioli, this dish is the bomb! Excellent for the mushroom lovers, it might convert mushroom haters, too. Lol. Another top dish of the night. Branzino Gui, $51 - 4 Stars Served with four banchan, this dish stands out for its execution - impeccably grilled and plated. The fish is very tender and perfectly cooked. I do think it is a bit plain for the price. Branzino is fairly common in different parts of the world. Ranked 4th for the night. Duck - 5 Stars Duck breast is served with a slice of duck and pistachio pastry plus four banchan. The duck is super tender. The pastry is clever utilizing other bits of duck meat. The simple sauce is very important, adding flavor to the pastry. Also delicious.

The staff is gracious, prompt, professional, and - I hope no one objects when I say this - rather attractive. Generous portions and reasonable prices for what you're getting. The food is nothing sort of legendary - bold flavors and dishes have the perfect balance of sweet, heat, savory, and umami. THE THORNS: None significant enough to mention. NEITHER ROSE NOR THORN: It is important to note that this place is insanely popular with the area's Korean community. The restaurant is quite busy Thursday thru Sunday, and significant waits for a table are likely. Monday thru Wednesday is your best time for going and getting a table without a wait. The price of some dishes, like their signature offering, Kalbijjim, might give you a pause ($80+). It is important to keep in mind this is made to order, and one serving can easily serve four regular appetites. If you're just a couple, you're definitely going to be taking this home with you. This is not a bad thing, as Kalbijjim is one of those dishes that is even better the next day and doesn't suffer from reheating. THE VERDICT: Daeho Kalbijjim is extremely popular, and it's not hard to see why. The execute authentic Korean cuisine pretty much flawlessly with efficient and charming service. What else to you want in a restaurant? Highly recommend. Just try not to go on the busy days.

The first time I visited, the quality of the meat cuts didn't impress me, and the soups lacked depth of flavor. I'm not talking about needing more salt--the broth itself just tasted flat. When you're paying close to $30 for a bowl of soup, I think it's reasonable to expect a higher level of quality and care to ingredients. The second visit was a mixed experience. To be fair, I was in the wrong. There is a clearly posted policy stating that your entire party must be present before being seated. My group was about seven minutes away, and since I had already checked in on Yelp and there were only two parties ahead of me with no one physically waiting, I asked if I could be seated and order while I waited. I had already been standing inside for about 10 minutes. I was told that although tables were available, seating me ahead of the other parties on the waitlist would be unfair. I understood the reasoning, but she had also asked prior for my order. Her explanation left me confused so i sheepishly said I understood the policy. She already seemed upset by the time i had gotten there. Sometimes we have off days i get that. This place is clearly hit or miss, I've got friends who absolutely swear by it. For me, though, it wasn't anything special and didn't justify the price. If you're looking for Korean food in the area, I've had better experiences with higher-quality dishes elsewhere, especially in Lynnwood.

I have dined here before so the interiors isn't too different just small changes. Let's jump to the food- I ordered the galbitang and it came with 10 different banchan. Which is a nice surprise since some restaurants aren't as generous in the banchan. The galbitang was so flavorful for a "clear" soup and the meat was tender. It also included a good portion of meat. I've tried galbitang at other places, but there was an umami that many didn't have. All the banchan were flavorful too, I thought the kimchi had a good balance as sometimes it can be a bit on the saltier side. Service was great too, the sever was friendly and checked often. When I went, it was just me then a couple arrived. There was a delay with their order so she provided some mandu on the house while their order was being prepared. Once they received their order, I heard the couple tell the sever that everything was very good multiple times- their food did look good! I recommend checking this place out especially with the new ownership. Menu looks similar from previous owners, but will for sure go back and try something else!
