And then they kept happening, getting larger and spreading throughout the entirety of the house, and we could no longer open the doors in the basement and 1st floor on the south side of the house. Alarmed, I called a civil engineer and had an assessment done. They ascertained our house was sinking, particularly in one corner, and recommended ~30 push piers around the perimeter and up the centerline of the house... for over $100k. I literally laughed at him and asked him who he thought I was that he thought I could afford that. I called a few other places and got questionable assessments, and then I spoke with Yos from DMV. What a breath of fresh air. He was personable and honest. He recommended we get a 3rd party civil engineer to produce a report with drawings that I could use for any foundation company - even if I didn't go with DMV. We (finally, after a loooong delay on the civil engineer's part) got the report and drawings, and Yos and his team began work in early January to install ~10 helical piers on the sinking corner of the house. It was a pretty invasive project, but his team was fantastic. Fast forward 5 months and the cracks have stopped appearing, with a number of them even closing. We are very satisfied with the work DMV did for us, and are particularly pleased with their honesty. Where one company tried to sell us an overkill solution for six figures, Yos was upfront and told us what we really need - to address that affected area and revisit others if they end up being an issue - for roughly a quarter of the other company's price. After calling in at least five different contractors to resolve the damages left by the original company we decided to use American Eagle owned and operated by Perry Watson & his son Ryan. They were extremely organized and methodically fixed a boatload of problems. I found them to be professional and always there to answer my questions & concerns promptly. Perry was previously an Industrial Hygienist , whose experience he applies to American Eagle. All surfaces were covered with plastic and air scrubbers were used to mitigate construction debris and dust. No one else in the industry does this. In comparison, the previous company left a filthy state of horribleness that I was left to clean for weeks. American Eagle hands down would be the only company I could give a 5 star in recommending and would use again in a heartbeat.

Tiger C Construction and Waterproofing company, a friendly father-son business with additional…read moreemployees, was absolutely fantastic for us. After a water main leak, our drain tile failed and our finished basement was ruined. Our house was sitting on inches of water under the foundation slab, which had no way to drain because of our dense clay dirt. On the outside, Tiger C excavated all the way down to the slab, put in a new drain tile, water-proofed the walls, re-worked our guttering, and buried it all back. This was all done without permanently removing our porch, deck, or HVAC. On the inside, they cut a trench in the concrete basement slab and installed a six inch drain line from the center of the house to the exterior. Once opened, hundreds of gallons of water gushed out for several hours. Tiger C was very hard-working, friendly, and courteous. They were conscientious of our property and our needs. Further, they warranted their work, giving us the confidence to rebuild the interior. I could not give Tiger C a stronger recommendation.

If not there their issue under the warranty, there's a hefty charge. I contacted Randall, the owner of Basement Masters, who came out promptly, looked at old system, discussed concerns with warranty coverage I might encounter, and found no foundation cracks. He kindly offered to have me call him after the old company comes out to assess the issue. All done for no charge. You'll not do business with a more honest, reliable company.
