My parents always came here for their passport and visa needs, and the manager Connie Ngo took excellent care of them. When I called to confirm if she was still doing passports, Connie was very pleasant on the phone. She gave me a few pointers on what to wear. Since the background of the photo will be white, she suggested that I wear something colorful so my photo won't look washed out. She also mentioned that she accepted cash, checks, and money orders. Credit cards were also accepted, but there was a 3% surcharge. It was nice that she told me this information upfront, because I typically do no carry a lot of cash and I certainly do not bring my checkbook with me when I go out. I would have incurred a 3% surcharge on my credit card had she not disclosed this information upfront. Upon arrival, Connie warmly greeted me and gave me a form to complete for my passport renewal, then proceeded to take my photo. After that, she verified my form was completed and asked if I will be getting a passport book only, or passport with a passport card (government ID). She explained the benefits of getting this ID card, so I decided to get it for $45 extra. She also explained that in 8-11 weeks, I will receive 3 separate items in the mail: my old passport with holes punched it to make it invalid, my new passport book, and my passport ID card. I made out 2 checks: US Dept of State: $160 (passport book & passport ID card) Postal Etc: $65.06 (service fee, including passport photos) Connie mentioned that if I travel to countries that require a visa, she can help get that prepared and she can be a resource to confirm if a country needs a visa. Overall, I had a very pleasant experience. I came at a busy time and Connie was basically running the show herself. She had a high school kid help out, but he was practically useless. She had to give him orders on the simplest of tasks, but he still wasn't able to do it right, so she had to step in. If you come and don't get Connie's undivided attention, have patience. She's doing her best to tend to all customers and keep things moving. She's a direct and no-nonsense kind of lady, and this attitude may come off as rude, but I didn't find her rude. There was a customer who was pumping the liquid hand sanitizer and made a mess on her counter, so she told him "it's liquid, not gel, so take it easy on the pumping and don't leave a mess." Despite the busy crowd, the service was quick. Including driving time to and from the store, I was done within my 1 hour lunch break. This store has all kinds of other services, including mailbox rentals, prints, scans, copies, fax, money orders, mail services, mailing supplies, custom packaging, notary, keys, greeting cards, snacks, etc. There are plenty of parking spaces in the shopping center, with reserved spots specifically for this store.

Just say I'm a giver I love helping people out even when they didn't deserve it. Moral of the story is I'd passed to her at least $80 more than I had to showing kindness. But this woman didn't turn down one cent and then had the audacity to charge me for extra packages not realizing it's a new month, fraudulently! After 4 extra packages she charges a fee. I didn't get 4 packages in the time frame she decided to charge me for after her greed has already had $80 more than she earned given to her from me, just showing support and being authentically kind. If I could get a refund I'd get the hell away from this kind of person in which is a greedy individual. KARMA don't care who you are. God knows my intentions and so does he know hers. I'd suggest to stay away from this place she appears nice but one of the greediest people I've ever seen. Can't wait till I don't have to use her services but be ware of undercover smiles that's nothing but a greedy individual just waiting to rip you off in some kind of way. STAY AWAY FROM HERE MY PEOPLE, she is crooked! ASF!! Lesson learned! However I HAVE DATES OF EVERY DELIVERY AND THERE IS NOT ONCE IVE BEEN OVERLIMIT. Some packages were small enough for the mailbox but to get over they don't see the inside of that box. I got receipts of her fraudulent charges because some packages were lost and she never received those but some how I got an overage when the delivery date shows what day and time delivered. I m looking into filing a complaint cos you don't cheat your customers. This is mail so I will do my research to see my next steps cos I don't appreciate getting ripped off cos I stopped giving money when packages started missing and your concern it wasn't your problem, WOW! lol

I called on a Thursday to get some basic information, as i was shopping around for a storage unit. This was the only storage place that let us come onsite after work my hours (8-6).. they allow people on site from 6am-10pm and very reasonable prices. I paid less than $175 for a 10x10 at regular rate when all other places asked for a minimum of $250 for the same size unit and only have access from 9-7pm. Jessica was the person i spoke to on Thursday.. ( I called her Christina over the phone and Jennifer in person!!!) i am so grateful that she called me on Friday because it had been an CRAZY week and i forgot to call back and and reserve a unit!! Anyway, she made the process very easy and took care of everything for me. She was very explanatory and very personable. I would definitely recommend this location to people i know in search of a storage unit. Jessica deserves a raise or a bonus for diligently following up with customers and bringing in revenue :). I work as a scheduler and i know that being diligent with your clients helps produce a working relationship and helps the business grow. :) read more

I have been in the San Diego Area my whole life, My partner & I recently moved to Mira Mesa since we are down grading to an apt. I've been yelping & goggling storage's for the past 2 months trying to find deals and a safe/clean environment. We went to four different storage's but didn't feel 100% about it. So I went home and did my researched again and A-1 Self Storage came up. We then stopped by and two ladies was at the front desk. The first thing that caught our attention was there Directors of first impression. How Rad was that. Leila stood up & ask if she can show us around the facility. Wow this place was the cleanliness facility we've seen after the other four. There is a large elevator plus a flatbed where it was convenient for customers to use. What we liked the most was there access hours. 6am-10pm seven days a week perfect for us to stop by after work. My partner & I was then convinced. I can't recommend this self storage enough and that's due in entirety to the amazing staff, Pinky and Grace. These women define excellent customer service and do it with genuine pride and fantastic attitudes. They both greet every customer with a smile and take the time to explain everything, be accommodating, and offer helpful suggestions. I've seen them take their time with the elderly and those where there was a language barrier, and treat every person with the same kindness and respect. The facility is always very clean and the staff are routinely seen walking the grounds checking on things. They've helped me when I needed to move units and upgrade units and made those transitions seamless. They always have great suggestions to make moves, big and small, easier. 5+ stars for this facility thanks to Grace and Pinky. read more

I've used A-1 Self Storage in the past and have recently relocated to the Mira Mesa area. I was very happy to see there is a new A-1 Self Storage in Mira Mesa actually down the street from my condo. My brother stopped by and spoke with leila who hooked him up with a unit that was clean, safe and had very easy access. The layout is very easy so you don't get lost in the building and it's easy to get around even when there are other tenants there. They even have a free moving truck as part of the move-in deal so this made our move-in much more convienent, not having to go across the street and get way over-charged for a tore up moving truck. read more

Shawn was great in making sure the online discount was applied, confirming my unit rental, and walking me through the lease agreement.
