We left the museum famished and in the mood for burgers. So happy we came here as the service and food were both great! My company got fries topped with cheese and smoked beef brisket, a twisted burger with fries, and a cheeseburger with fries. All the food was cooked perfectly, well seasoned. All the French fries had that textured of old fries refried. They were super crispy in outside and stale dry inside. We were famished so we finished it all. We were told they had really great brownies so we bought a piece and also a lemon pound cake. Both were so yummy. The brownie was a more cake less chewy and the amount of sweetness was perfect. The lemon pound cake was a perfect sweetness and lemon combination. I was sad that we didn't get the mango ice cream, we just couldn't fit it in! Next time! The ambience of this place is very old school pub type with antique nostalgia decore all around. The restrooms were clean as well as tables and chairs. An easy place to spot on the main road with plenty of parking. Behind the pub is a rail so you do feel the shaking of the train as it passes lol. The service was friendly and fast. If you find yourself in this area do stop in. They have a few interesting items on the menu to try, you won't regret it.

It's well known the "Twisted" is our favorite place to eat and meet friends. Anthony and Joni have created a place where diners are family. The menu is diverse and amazing. Brisket, home made "Authentic Chesapeake Bay Style" Home made crab cakes, burgers, breakfast lunch or dinner with home made sides like smoked Mac and Cheese, Apple Pie Baked Beans, Cole Slaw, smoke baked Potato, hand cut fries they are the best! And the Best just got even better!! The Twisted has added "Friday Fish Fry" to the go along with the Crab Cake special! As if that was not enough they've added fried fish sandwich! It all starts with "fresh, never frozen" Haddock, hand battered to order. The fish fry includes hand cut fries, Cole slaw along with your choice of white Bar B Q sauce or Tartar. The Haddock portions are huge, sweet, fresh and delicious. The Fish sandwich is a smaller portion of the Haddock on a Brioche Bun with choice of sauce, lettuce and tomato, with fries and Cole slaw. A perfect menu just got even better!!! Easy to get to along Rt 30 in Kinzer Pa, almost across the road from the Kinzer Post Office with plenty of parking. Be sure to say hi to Anthony and Joni. Listen to their desert options which include a home made waffle sundae! A personal favorite.

Cozy atmosphere, friendly service and delicious barbecue. To top it off they have the best smoked baked beans I've ever tasted!

My husband and I looked for the best BBQ places in the area and landed on The BBQ Barn. A small and cute little barn sits in the corner of the plaza (on the right of Target). We ordered chicken and rib dinners with an extra pulled pork sandwich (we ordered way too much but needed to try it all!!). Dinner plates come with Cole slaw, a dinner roll, potatoes, and a whoopie pie. There is seating outside. We both agreed that the chicken may have been the best we have ever had. It was seasoned so well and perfectly cooked. The ribs came with bbq sauce on the side. There was a line, but service was quick and efficient. The grills are right in front and you can see the cooking happening! Inside the barn, I could see them rolling out fresh pretzels. They also had homemade root beer, which was very good! After we finished eating, I couldn't help but grab a vanilla ice cream cone to share with my dogs. They agree too, best soft serve ice cream we have ever had. Since getting home, we have already talked about how we need to plan a trip back to Lancaster to get more BBQ and explore the area a bit longer.

Drive to the Target just west of the American Music Theatre and head to the far east side of the Target, driving back around the side of the building and the restaurant will be on your right. Watch for small signs directing you to the BBQ Barn. Review: Very good pulled pork sandwiches with lots of meat for a very reasonable price. Full meal is a great deal that includes three small grilled red potatoes, a small coleslaw, roll, whoopie pie, and drink for $12.50-$14.00 depending on your meat and beverage choice. They sell "homemade" root beer that I tried and it was good and tasted like the original drove in A&W root beer except it lacked carbonation. We had a sandwich plus one full meal for about $20 and left a small tip. Note that this is a casual place with outdoor seating only, similar to a food truck. Thankfully the picnic table seating is mostly in the shade. I do recommend this place for a quick lunch or dinner and noticed local Amish eating there while we had lunch. today.

Out of mashed potatoes, Mac & cheese, peas & carrots, green beans & ham, baked beans, I chose mashed potatoes and baked beans. The wings were delicious and tender. The skin had a pop to it. Very simple seasoning but good. I had a choice of spicy or sweet barbecue sauce and I got the sweet. It was just right. Not too sweet but flavorful. The mashed potatoes tasted so creamy. The baked beans were like cowboy beans. A variety of beans, bacon and ground beef. Flavored just right, sweet and tangy. You also get a soda with your meal. I also wanted to try the fried corn nuggets and onion rings. The onion rings were a little too soft for me. It had a really nice coating that stuck to the onion though. The fried corn nuggets were sweet and crunchy. If you like sweet tamale this is it in nugget form and fried. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I had a lot of dumb questions and kept picking items that were not choices on my plate. The cashier would correct me. She wasn't curt and wasn't overly accommodating. She would just repeat what my options are. They have a nice road sign but you have to be looking for it. The restaurant is up a flight of stairs but they do have a ramp too. When you walk in there are about 6 tables. The counter has T-shirts, macrame and a few home decor items. Go past the dining area, to the left is the bakery and to the right is the barbecue. I love all the nice notes and positive signs.

I personally ordered the beef brisket, the fried chicken with a side of Mac and cheese and seasonal vegetables. First the good, the fried chicken was fried perfectly with a nice crispy and so moist. The best part of the meal. The sides were good with a cheesy Mac and cheese. I was disappointed with the brisket. Although it had good flavor, it was super dry and those who ordered the brisket at our table agreed. We also ordered the whoopie pies which were disappointing as well. Would I come back...yes but would not order the brisket or dessert.

The Burnt ends appetizer was the best I have ever had. The meat was super tender and the white horseradish was so good on it we bought 12oz to take home. Honestly that could have been my dinner it was that good. The pulled pork was good it passed my husband's test since he's from NC and still looking for one like home. The spaetzle was amazing, and as good as my mother in law made. Well better. And she's German. Such a great find. It will be on our list every-time we come back to Lancaster.

The 2 patties weren't crispy and didn't have the maillard reaction texture you'd get from a smash burger. It was topped with onions and bbq sauce which was what I mainly tasted. They weren't busy when I went. Fast forward a couple months later I tried their sampler along with their 3 bbq sauces, which I'll get to later. The platter serving side was ok, I split with my wife and the sampler came with 3 sides, coleslaw, beans and cornbread. Hindsight I should had checked everything before I left but we were shorted both coleslaw and cornbread. The meats were alright, tender and out of the the meats that we ordered, pulled pork, brisket and ribs, only the pulled pork wasn't dry. Now the sauces, the small black plastic containers, when I went that particular day, the lids weren't closing tight to make a seal from spillage. I was only able to seal the containers from the last behind the counter that I would need to stack 2 of the cups and the lid would seal tight. Wtf? TL;DR ok bbq place but stick with mission bbq if you really have a hankering for decent taste bbq in the area.
