Waitresses are awesome, however the manager ( Kevin) was extremely rude. He actually yelled at my wife from the kitchen. When I asked him about not yelling at my wife, he denied it. As I turned to walk away, he started jumping up and down making monkey motions and just being weird. If you're looking for average food and want to be disrespected then this place is for you! You are not allowed to use the restroom anymore. They are not for the customers. They also cherry pick which coupons they allow. Don't pick up the paper and try to use the coupons there without check with them. They only allow the ones that "they" want you to use. I showed up with a $2 float coupon and they wouldn't allow it. This place has gone downhill, although the kids who work are very nice, and apologetic. read more

This restaurant is delicious and very fun to go to in your car, but eat inside at your own risk if you don't entertain the idea of gossiping about customers. I ate inside at the bar, and there was a small group of girls, (employees) standing in the front mocking customers from outside each time they came back inside from taking orders. This place isn't fancy. But it's a pure American classic. Big cold mugs of A&W Root Beer and chili cheese coney dogs. I love this place!!! Whenever it opens I know summer is close behind. It's close to Kent State campus and super cheap. Cute little car hops and menus small and similar. Even outside seating if you wanna get out of your car and get some sun.$ out of $$$ read more

I've never had a bad server. They are always polite while trying to be as quick as possible. I do agree that the company should definitely not put sloppy joes on a hotdog bun though! And A&W, I'm a little disappointed this year! You used to thank your customers for a great season and say see you next spring! (on your marquee sign). Now it just says "closed". I used to work here as a carhop and I worked my a$$ off for every customer I had. Everyone is right though, the manager Kevin Roen is the biggest jerk in the world and has lost so much business because of it. Working for him was a nightmare. I will say the establishment is always cleaned twice a day and the kitchen is fine. Some girls barely put ice cream in the floats because of Roen's rules, however I would always give more than I thought fair. Majority of the workers are HS girls and drama always ensues, however, a lot of them are very sweet. There used to be a carhop who would show up high but she was fired. The corn dog nuggets are the best bargain you'll ever get and you can get any pop flavor made into a "freeze" which is the pop blended with vanilla ice cream. Give it a try just don't talk to the manager. I miss working there but I'm grown up now. It'll always have a special place in my heart. read more

Amazing! My mom and I drove all the way out from Parma Heights because we've always loved A&W, and unfortunately there are none close to us. I ordered a Papa Burger combo and it did not disappoint. Really flavorful. Mom got a coney dog and I think she added coleslaw to it. She said it was awesome. We will definitely be back. read more

Very disappointed at the service I recieved and the hot dogs !!! The hot dogs were worse than the 1.69 pack of cheap hot dogs you would buy from a supermarket i know you need to make money but this is outragus the service recieved was poor at best the manager was very rude and slammed the window shut while i was talking and the rootbeer float was bad becouse it was all rootbeer with almost no ice cream is not the type of food and service I stopped in for wont be seeing me there again anytime soon have a good day this is for the Kent location only The ravenna AW how ever at least recieved good custumer service they were ok !! read more

As an employee 1989-1992, I have returned most years to reminisce. It's always been good... until this year. My 11yr and 9yr old kids took one bite of the pasty white hot dog and declared 'em inedible. My foot long coney had almost no coney, and tasted nasty. And how is draft root beer totally flat? WARNING - Do not go here. My coney dog was DISGUSTING and bland. Based on the dirtiness of the establishment I shouldn't be surprised. The place is rundown and almost looks abandoned. The workers look to be stoned and not even alert. All of these red flags and I still gave them a shot; bad idea. The manager is also extremely rude and needs to be fired. Don't waste your time here. Footlong whose got the Footlong. A&W is a classic, nothing special about it. You have to get a dirty water footlong hotdog with coney sauce and some cheese curds. Love those deep fried curds. Of course finish the meal with a big mug of root beer. read more

Moved 50miles out of the area and miss the hell outta a&w (they have none near us). They accept cards last time i came (which is awesome). When i visit family i make it a point to stop here........the cheese curds are AMAZING!!!! not like that garbage at dairy queen. The highlight is the draft root beer in a cool glass mug. The coneys are friggen awesome. Burgers are decent, floats are great......i got nothing bad to say i love this place so much i wish it was open all year round and wished i still lived near it. Overpriced and skimpy servings. Root beer float probably has about a tablespoon of ice cream.

The food is way overpriced and the service is bad. The servers are to busy inside gossiping instead of serving the customer and the manager is very rude...... On the other hand they do have the best burgers and fried mozzarella sticks. Lol read more

I go here all the time. The burgers are the best around but they have changed the buns for the hotdogs and they are very chewy and hard to swallow. The girls are great and come right out to wait on you. read more

Sad. Server got our order wrong and argued with us about what we had ordered. I would have paid additionally for what I had ordered for my family but the server wanted to argue. So I paid for the food that was brought to us and left. I'll be going to another restaurant to get my hot dog fix from now on. read more
