We got their service a year ago. Now we realize the bottom of the bath tub is not flat so water stays there. After few months, a water stain marks the area looks like rusty. Also the shiny coat is not shiny inside the tub. Outside the tub since no water running so it's still shiny. The maintenance guide provides information that do not use those cleaning solutions. Only allow use soap and of course it's not working. Recently I found out if I use baking soda to clean it, it's shiny again. The bottom stains still cannot be fully removed. read more

I had this company spray a tub after I had a lengthy conversation with this owner Steve about a previous company I used that did a poor spray job on another property I own. I hired this company as he sold me over the phone how wonderful they have been since 1975 in the Chicagoland area spray painting tubs. I hired them based on his verbal guarantee that I would be very happy with the outcome. Well the job was finished a few days ago and its awful. The guy that did the work did not properly wipe down all the dust and debris after he sanded to prep for paint. I have large particles underneath the paint that is so noticeable. I know they will chip now as this is part of the problem with the previous vendor. Also, the guy that did the work dripped 3 good sized drips onto the brand new floor in addition to overspray at the entrance to the bath. We have had to scrub and scrub carefully to get this hard shell paint off our new vinyl plank flooring. So pissed off I Actually have to pay for this work. The owner Steve never called me after the fact to ask how the job turned out. So unprofessional. Train these guys the RIGHT way. I bet they try to cram as many jobs in a day to make more $$$$. So they rush to get it done and it shows. I DO NOT recommend. I am now having the tub taken out and a new one installed - because its that bad. Their guarantee is worthless. Fair warning. read more

After they were recommended to me from my contractor I called them to have them finish my tub as the paint was completely chipped off and in terrible condition. I scheduled appt and had them come out. The painter was very nice, polite and informative. However when I went to look at finished work there were some paint splash marks and areas that he had missed. When I asked him about it he said it would level out and I wouldn't be able to tell. Well, it didn't. So I had to call. They sent him back out again and he fixed the areas of trouble. Except he fixed them with a paint brush. So now it's not smooth it's bumpy. Not to mention I have paint splatter marks all over my tile and the calk job needs to be redone. Not veryhappy with the work that was done, but didn't want to have someone out for the third time. Review Update : new boss/owner This job was done almost one year ago and because I reached out to him and was unhappy he offered to have his best employee come and fix the problem. Not only did they work around my schedule, but because I wasn't able to be present at the time due to the odor they did the job fast and trustworthy so I could feel comfortable not being at home while it was being done. The job was done wonderful and at no cost! Even with it being almost a year later! Highly recommend this company and the employee merit. read more

Utterly unprofessional. Scheduling was easy, but that was about the only positive aspect of my experience. I had to constantly ask the two men who came to wear their masks while inside our home. Upon completing the job, I took the pictures attached here, and sent them to Steve asking him to call me, so we can discuss. When he did call, right from the start he was noticeably irritated and abrasive. He began by accusing me of having a secret camera in our bathroom (no idea why he thought that), and told me that since he sent his nicest guy to do his job, somehow the poor quality of the work they did must be my fault. I told him that the guy was nice, and that my concerns are with the quality of the job, not his personality. I invited Steve to come over and personally inspect the work, but while he readily admitted it needs to be fixed, he refused to come. He told me that he's wiling to not charge me, and that this is his way of "paying me not to post a negative review" for his business online. I told him that i don't want a free job, I want a good job. I reminded him that when we first connected, I made a point of telling him several times that cost is not an issue, and that he has free rein to do whatever needs to be done at whatever cost. I told him that I am happy to pay for the job, and that I am simply not happy with how it was done so far. He became increasingly irate and defensive, and the call ended. There is always more than one side to each story, and perhaps his version of what transpired is different than mine. So, if you're happy with the quality of the work as the pictures show for $225 (which is what he quoted me) - Steve is your guy. I personally expected more, and certainly don't feel nice and cosy being yelled at by a person who admits that even though the job needs to be repaired, it is somehow my fault, as if I was the one who did it. Maybe Steve had a bad day. Maybe I did. Maybe it was the guy who came to do the job. It doesn't matter. The pictures don't lie, and yelling at your customer because your employee did a job that makes you feel embarrassed... I just don't think it's cool. Despite refusing to fix the job, and offering to just void the invoice, it has been sent to me at least half a dozen times since the job was done. I have spoken twice to some rather unfriendly woman who answers the company phone (630-238-9606, registered to the LLC), and both times she acted in a rather shady way. She pretends to not know the owner (Josh Skinner), but when challenged she states she just doesn't know where the owner is and that she just communicates with him via email. I engaged this company to re-glaze my bathtub surrounding tile and tile on my bathroom walls. Eric and Zack arrived on time and completed the job in one day. They did an amazing job and they are highly professional. I thought my bathroom would look good, but they exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this company and their team. I had my tub resurfaced a couple years ago by another company and it began to peel. I called Beautiful Finishes on recommendation of a neighbor who recently had a tub done by them. "Beautiful Finishes" has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I have called a couple of times to get a hold of one of their private contractors (Adam Stander from "Market Ready Asset Management, LLC" or "Mica Magic") who came out to do a bathtub resurfacing 6 months ago. The tub started to crack and peel away in March- 5 months after his poor resurfacing job. Before starting on the tub, I asked him (through text) if his work is under any kind of warranty. He told me his work is under warranty for 5 years. This private contractor, Adam Stander, is avoiding my calls & texts so he doesn't come back out to fix his horrible job. I've left him several voicemails and texts. He texted back only once to say he is traveling and would call me back the week after (most likely a BIG LIE). That was 3 weeks ago and he's never called or texted back. When I called "Beautiful Finishes" to get a hold of him, the girl tells me that there's nothing she can do to help me. When I asked her for the phone number of a supervisor, she acted as if she put me on hold, then hung up. I called back two times after she hung up, and she wouldn't answer my call. This is extremely immature and unprofessional. I would strongly advise people to find another place and save yourself the time, headache, and money. Stay away from both "Beautiful Finishes" and "Mica Magic"!!! Also, I just learned that Adam Stander is not called "Mica Magic" anymore. He changed the name of his company to "Market Ready Asset Management, LLC" so please please please stay away from this man and company!!! His reviews look all good because he tells the customer (the day he finishes his job) to post a good review. Of course the tub looks all freshly painted and nice at the beginning, but starts to chip and peel away after a few months. He knows exactly what he is doing to gain 5 star reviews. Just had my surround tub/shower done by this company and once again it turned out fantastic. This is the second time I have used them. Had this done on our previous house about 8 years ago and it still looked as it was done on the first day. The smell this time went away relatively quickly. The process is quick and easy. Gill their customer service technician did a wonderful job. Very personable and knowable of their product and just a great guy! Felt very comfortable to have him in our home. Bathtub was refinished well by the field tech. Everyone was easy to deal with except for a manager named "Louis". He handled a situation poorly and wasn't professional. I would use them again if it wasn't for him. read more

I was very impressed with their customer service from day one - they were extremely responsive and helpful, getting me all of the paperwork my condo association requested and working closely with me to schedule a time that was convenient for all parties. I've used Beautiful Finishes for many years in a number of apartment buildings I own. This experience was like all the others. The technician showed up on the date and time he was supposed to. He was courteous and explained everything he needed to do and put paper along the ceramic tile above the tub and on the floor next to the tub to keep it from getting dirty. The tub had been refinished eight years ago and it needed to be stripped this time. The job took longer because of that but the tub looked great when he was done. Scheduled for a refinishing of my tub. Technician arrived without any ID and when I asked why, he became irate, told me he was getting bad vibes and stated that he would not do my tub. When I called the office, I was told he told them there would be a problem with the paint peeling if he did the job. I said no such conversation transpired. I also asked why the technicians had no type of identification as it would validate who they are. The receptionist stated that because they are contracted, they do need it. How about fake servicemen come into homes and kill people these days. I recently contacted Beautiful finishes in order to have a bathtub surround refinished. Ken Geer told be no problem and sent me a quote I agreed to the $575 number. The refinisher came out to the house 2 separate times to fix bubbled paint the second time he sprayed dirt in the finish.Once it was done I then received a bill for an additional $45 dollar charge for recon. I contacted Ken and he told me tough luck. very poor customer service,below average work and the quote means nothing.Please stay away do yourself a favor. George read more

The technician never showed up after we waited weeks for the appointment. I'll say that I'm not bothered by waiting weeks, I'm bothered by the no show. We waited over an hour and a half without so much as a phone call. The best part is they called me literally one day before to confirm my appointment. This was a Saturday and being that it was one of my only days off, I was upset to say the least. I emailed, I left messages. That following Monday a supervisor left me a voicemail message asking for a call back. I called back and was told this was a newer technician (no excuse) who was a younger gentleman and had experienced car trouble. Instead of calling the customer, he simply called their office which is clearly closed on the weekends. They offered me $25 off my rescheduled appointment. My husband and I felt that wasn't the best way to say "Hey we're REALLY sorry and we do want your business." I'm disappointed and saddened that we had to go with another company we could trust a bit more and it's sad that the management didn't make more of an effort. Before leaving this review, I did give them the chance to make it right and for whatever reason $25 off was their best effort. read more

Our bath tub was a wreck! The boys would not bathe in it and insisted on showering while standing on a mat. The previous "refinish" looked like someone had used a can of white spray paint complete with drips and the pink porcelain was peeking thru the peeling parts and chips. Hired Beautiful Finishes to do the redo. Some confusion on the day of the initial appt. Not sure if that was the office or my "appointment maker". Anyway, today He was supposed to come at 8:30 am, and he came....at 8am! They called to let me know He was there and a little early, so I wouldn't get concerned. We were home, the two boys on Spring Break and two dogs and me, and he just went about his thing. Didn't bother us and didn't seem to be bothered by our commotion or many, many questions. Was polite, professional and friendly, and not the creepy kind. Set up in the hall with a little path for the boys to run back to their rooms. With the kids home, I was worried about ventilation, but He had a ventilation tube to the window and taped and 'plastic-ed' off everything. We ate breakfast and lunch in the kitchen next room over and didn't even notice. He spent 5 hours, very meticulous to details, no "drips" and perfect caulking, very careful of my things in the bathroom, and yet efficient considering the state of the tub and all of our distracting antics. Good instructions on maintenance. Bottom line, can't tell he was even here, except that the tub looks shiny brand new. Only problem now is I want to redo the rest of the room! read more
