We were given a recommendations from someone who just purchased a home and went through A Better Home Inspection. Specifically they had Doug as their inspector and he came so highly recommended. Rightfully so - from the moment I called and spoke with Kris, she was great in answering my questions and helping me schedule the appointment. I called back towards the end of the day to add on a sewer scope to the inspection, and the call center left a message for Kris to give me a call back the next day. Less than half an hour later, Kris actually sent me a text to see if she can call me even though it's in the evening. That's customer service right there! On the day of the Inspection, Doug arrived early and immediately got started. He went over every aspect outside the house, took his time inside, and even offered to go over the report at the end of the inspection immediately to answer any questions we may have. By that evening, I had a detailed report with pictures and explanation and recommendations in my inbox. Payment was also easy and I was able to pay online via a secured link. According to their website, Forster's has been in business for more than 20 years serving San Diego and Riverside Counties. In our experience, Forster's was prompt in scheduling / responding to an appointment. During the inspection, my significant other was present along with the realtors representing the sellers of the property. My significant other and the realtors followed the home inspector around the property. The Home Inspection report was provided the same day via email. The report first covered what was excluded (in our case, mold and mildew inspection was excluded). The report then covered results for the following areas: - Ground (driveway, sidewalks, retaining walls, grading, patio, fences, gates, etc) - Exterior / Foundation (exterior walls, chimney, roof, gutters, attic, etc) - Electrical (service, main panel, sub-panels, wiring, cooling, etc) - Pool, Spa, Crawl Space - Plumbing (main line, supply lines, waste lines, fuel system, water heater, etc) - Heating (condition, venting, combustion air, burners, distribution, air filters, controls, etc) - Garage (ceiling, floor, fire walls, doors, automatic opener, electrical, laundry, etc) - Interior (doors, windows, interior walls, ceiling, floors, fireplaces, interior/exterior features, etc) - Kitchen (floors, counters, cabinets, kitchen sink, disposal, range/cooktop, dishwasher, etc) - Bathroom (floors, counters, sink, cabinets, electrical, ventilation, toilets, bathtub, faucet, shower, etc) The report included results for areas that were not applicable to the property as well as included pictures of areas noted as faulty. Overall, inspection was fairly thorough. Results of the inspection were detailed based on the report. My significant other noted that the home inspector that was sent was fairly young. Both significant other and realtors noted that the home inspector missed a few items (i.e. ceiling fan and kitchen disposal). I'm buying a Condo that was built in 1990, and John inspected every inch of that place. He found caulking problems, loose toilets, appliances that were incorrectly installed, outside outlets that needed to be fixed, bent screens, and gutter issues to name most of them. He was wonderful!
