Unfortunately my order was thru DoorDash. Everything was cold not the restaurants fault. The pickle was thin and wilted and the tomatoes were over ripe and wilted on the hot dog. The hot dog was good. The beef was underwhelming just lacking flavor. I asked for sweet peppers and I guess they char them till they are blackened. Stopped here by the recommendation of my barber after mentioning I wanted some fish. I was greeted immediately which I very much appreciated. There is QR code available, as well as a menu board and physical menu which is what I used from the counter. I opted for the two piece (fried) fish fillet w/fries and a red line punch. Which I'd never heard of referred to that way but it was a mix of Kool aid and lemonade. Now, either the Kool aid could've used more sugar or the lemonade more lemon but it was just a watered down cup of juice to me. The fish was hot and fresh out the grease, well seasoned and fried hard like a like it. The fries, some were good and crispy, others a bit soggy but seasoned well. The catfish is so good, I could eat it everyday! It's cooked all the way through and has a nice crunch with the batter. I'm not a fan of squishy, cooked fruit, so the next time I get the peach cobbler, I'm going to see if I can just get the crust. Put that with some ice cream, and it'll make you rub your feet together! Expect a little bit of a wait after you put your order in, especially during the lunch rush. The customer service is on point though. Casual, but professional. Relaxed, not rushed. They have four TV monitors, showing four different channels, which I like. This is the first and only Chicago style restaurant I've been to that toasts the hot dog buns. That's not a bad thing, just different. They were good. The fries are crinkle cut but they are hot and salty. They serve 2 types of punch here, red line and blue line. I tried the blue and it was good. There weren't many folks in line but it had a lot of people inside and they were all watching the Bears-Rams game. I wanted to get banana pudding for dessert but they were all out. One minor pet peeve is that they add a $0.70 service fee. I'll try their other items next time. read more

As sweet wings I would rate them better but advertised as mild I was expecting a smidgen of heat. The catfish was pretty tasty. Thin breading which was nice. Tastiest part of the meal. It came on top of a bit of fries and I found a hair in the basket I ordered some mac & cheese as well, and I found hair in it. Tasted pretty bland. The restaurant also has multiple signs saying to use the QR code to purchase and order your meal at your table. I did as much and the gentlemen had to come around and ask me if I ordered a drink because with four customers, I guess they didn't know that's the one order that showed up with the one person that didn't have any drinks. We had no idea what we wanted to eat started searching for something new and found Chicago Bite. Having lived in Chicago and rarely finding anything close in S.A. that came close to the taste and style our search is now over. The Catfish, the Chicago Dog and the Italian Beef which we added Italian Sausage was "Oh My Goodness!" We finished the Catfish and forgot the photo! A Chicago native myself, I was elated to learn about Chicago Bite's. A little piece of home amid the plethora of Mexican cuisine was refreshing and welcoming. It was equally important for me to support a minority owned business. After a dozen or so trips, and an attempt to share some constructive feedback that seemed to fall on deaf ears. I wanted to share some insights into Chicago Bite's. Service is less than mediocre, and customers are definitely treated differently. The one thing the establishment has going for them is the ambiance. Because the food is hit and miss with more misses than hits. The fried chicken tastes different each time I visited. On at least two separate occasions the chicken was inedible due the cleanliness of the protein. Fried blood filled the chicken, and a couple of pieces of the wings was a one bite taste. You may or may not get hot or fresh French fries, the side items, such as the greens and macaroni and cheese is bland and sometimes it is old. I wish I knew when a fresh batch was being prepared. One of its staples is the Italian beef sandwich. If you know about the Chicago Italian Beef sandwich then you know. The locals who work for Chicago Bite's don't have a clue. As such the sandwich is ill-prepared more than not. And unfortunately, if the owner is not there I would recommend that you dine somewhere else. Even, when she is present, she is selective in her professional delivery. Her disposition comes across as if she has to do a dance and pony show for non-Black consumers unless she knows you. I can't wait until Portillo's opens next month. At least there will be some consistency in the quality of the food and service. read more

We ordered 3 jumbo Chicago dogs, 2 Pepsis and a Dr Pepper. We sat at the only open table. It wasn't cleaned and no one ever came to clean it. We waited about 25 minutes and someone brought us 1 Pepsi and a Dr Pepper and said they were out of Pepsi. No offer to replace the $3.50 drink! We waited another 38 minutes! Over an hour for 3 hot dogs! I thought this hotdog is going to have to be amazing to make up for the horrible service. It was not.
