Matt and Sheldon were very responsive to all of my questions, emails, calls, etc. for transporting our daughter and her friends up to The City for her 16th bday celebration. Matt arrived at our home on time and brought us up for photo ops at the base of the Bay Bridge and Palace of Fine Arts. He then took us to Calzone's for dinner and Ghiradelli for dessert. He was on time and this was the one part I was freaking out about because our pastor told me not to be late!! Keith got us to church right on the dot and to my surprise our pastor was late!!! Booking this company was the biggest source of stress I experienced during my entire wedding process! I booked them about 6 months in advance (wedding was in July) and had given a deposit and everything. 2 weeks prior to the wedding, I figured I should check in to make sure everything was still good. I first emailed Matt...no response. I then tried calling him...wasn't able to leave a message. I then tried texting him...no response. At this point, I was a week away from my wedding, and I was freaking out. After several text message and phone call attempts, I had to bite the bullet and book elsewhere. Fast forward to after the wedding, I tried to contact Matt again in order to demand my deposit back. I called him and he actually picked up! Without going into too much detail about the phone call, he basically gave me some really inappropriate/unprofessional advice about not getting married unless I'm absolutely sure I'm in it for the right reasons...like what?!? Who says that to a client who just got married?! At this point, my job as a therapist kicked in, because I could have gone off on this guy about his unprofessionalism, but rather encouraged him to seek support, knowing that if he didn't, his business would go under. He thanked my for the advice and apologized for the inconvenience. He then promised to give me my deposit back - which took about 2 weeks. Basically, it seems as though Matt has been experiencing some personal issues (which I get - we all do), but it has obviously affected his clients. I wanted to do it big for my 27th bday and get a party bus. I asked around for recommendations of company's and everyone said they used A Cut Above Limo. I called Matt and was able to get a hold of him right away! He answered all my questions and was really helpful in deciding places I should go, seeing if I needed help getting club info/ guest lists or setting up bottle service. Totally ABOVE and beyond making sure I had everything set for my big night. His wife Jenny called to confirm the details and make sure everything was set. At one point I was considering changing the night of my party and I was able to text Jenny and ask her if they were booked the other night and she got right back to me. So responsive and friendly! They really helped relieve the stress of getting this night set up! I even changed the pick up address same day and it was not a problem at all. The driver was awesome!! Was there 15 minutes early then the pick up time scheduled. Was patient while we got everyone together, was super friendly to all my guests and had no problem playing dj for us with the cd's we brought! He didnt get annoyed with us asking to change the songs or turn on or off the air a million times LOL kept a smile on his face and very professional! We rented a limo from A Cut Above Limo this past weekend for a Girl's Night Out and had a good experience. Pros: owner gave honest feedback about which limo was most safe and appropriate, rates were competitive, on time service, our driver Ken was FANTASTIC and flexible with the asks of our large party, the limo was clean and spacious. Areas of growth: company could use administrative support to keep up with inquiries and timely responses, the limo's air condition unit seemed to not operate properly and it was unusually warm the night we rented the limo, the limo sound system should be upgraded with better speakers and offering complimentary ice and water bottles would be a nice touch. I would use the service again and ask a few more questions at the time of reservation. It's two days before my birthday. And I am the most gigantic procrastinator. I want a party bus....but it's two days before my birthday! F***K!!!! Time to hustle. I start off by calling a few places I had googled... all of them had given me okay prices, but after yelping them, I found out that a lot of them were not that great--One place even had solid 1 stars from about 15 people!!! NOT Good. I go on Yelp as my starting point this time and I do some browsing, call some more places and I'm about to settle on a limo until I emailed "A Cut Above Limo". I'm not expecting to hear back at all, but I was surprised when I saw a response from Matt about ten minutes later. It was around 11:30PM at this point. I told him I was looking for a limo originally, but he told me they had the 20 passenger party bus available on they day I needed for an AMAZING price!!! It blew EVERYONE ELSE out of the water for free. Of course, asked Matt to hold the bus until tomorrow since I felt bad for keeping him up! He said it wasn't a problem and sure enough, called yesterday, he remembered me and I booked the bus EASILY. Here we go....!!!! **DAY OF THE PARTY** I'm nervous... I want this to go well. Our driver, as I was informed before hand, was this AWESOMELY COOL driver named Wilbert. Wilbert is from SF so he knows what's up AND he arrived 10 minutes early!! He was really chill, laid back, had a sense of humor and was just really cool. So I gather the troops and in we go, into the bus and on our way. He explained the stereo system, there was a DVD player and a monitor that could play videos and a remote to control the lights in the bus. So we got down, had drinks, laughed, my drunk ass friend opened a bottle of soda water and got some on Wilbert, but he was cool and said don't worry. Felt bad...gave him extra tip for that. He gets us to the club on time!!! So we are all on schedule, ready to rock. The drunk ass friend from earlier gets kicked out of the club and her and her man return to the bus. After we've had our fun and go back to the bus some hours later, Wilbert is missing. Where is he? HELPING MY DRUNK FRIEND. Prolly had to pee or barf or something, I dunno, I was trashed. But KUDOS to him for being awesome and not a dick. We all piled in and enjoyed the DUI-free ride home. He was a very safe and courteous driver. I couldn't have asked for more and, in great customer service fashion, Matt called the following Monday to see how it all went. SO HAPPY with this company!!! I will, WITHOUT A DOUBT, Be using them again!!!!!!!! Heads up though: Since they're a limo company, they're not allowed to provide liquor, but they do provide some mixers and tub of ice. Bring cups, straws and booze and your own specialty mixers if you want. BUT ITS ALL WORTH IT. 100% LOVE THIS COMPANY!!!!!! PS. Wilbert was so awesome that he actually called me at 4AM to try and tell me that my drunk ass friend left her shoes on the bus. I had the pleasure of meeting Matt with A Cut Above Limo yesterday, Sunday! We had a great day wine tasting in the Gilroy area. We were met by Matt, on time, with the Hummer Limo at our pick up location. The service Matt provided was excellent, From the first email to the last one after our trip was great! Matt was very professional and made sure he had all the details of the trip. Everything was excellent and we had a great day! The price was great, the service was OUTSTANDING, and I can't wait to book another limo tour with A Cut Above Limo. Unlike some, I got to see first hand the difference in "other" discount limo companies. My wife booked a wine tasting trip with another company on Saturday. She was trying to save money for the girls she was going with. They had fun but the company doubled booked the driver, so the driver was an hour late, the trunk of the limo was bungied corded shut, the company was hard to get a hold of and did not return emails right away... All I can say is that I wish my wife could of booked with Matt and A Cut Above Limo first. I experienced nothing like that at all!!! My friends and I had a great time making our own wine tour of Sonoma a couple of weekends ago. Our driver (I think his name was Kevin?) arrived early and was very polite and friendly. He showed us how to operate the nifty lights and gadgets inside the Escalade limo (my memory sucks so the branding might be wrong here), and his son *happened* to leave a Transformer in the car from the night before which provided us amusement throughout the day. He handled the car very well, and timed our arrivals accurately. Everything was great except for two things related to the GPS dependency, hence four stars instead of five: 1) He had to have an exact address instead of an intersection for the next pick up of our friends. I understand GPS units aren't the smartest tools around, but it's pretty weird that it supposedly can't find 1st St and Mission St in San Francisco without us looking this up on our iPhones and providing an approximate address. 2) On the way back, he timed our arrival perfectly with traffic, BUT, the traffic was totally avoidable. We took a route from GG Bridge through Union Square to get back to 1st and Mission, and as we all know around here, Union Square is to be avoided like the plague - doesn't matter what the GPS unit says. But as I said, all was on time across our nine stops, and the car was nice, and the driver was a gracious fellow. I would definitely use this service again. read more

Execution was great! Had a wedding this past weekend and I'm going through all my vendors good and bad to write em up! This was definitely one of the bright points of the wedding. From the beginning, Ronnie took care of me, answered all phone calls and emails promptly. I am a control freak and i got all the information I needed asap from him. Halfway through this process I realized that we had too many people staying in the hotel and that I needed addl limos and one party bus wouldn't be enough. They were able to get us a stretch escalade at a moments notice just a few weeks before the event.. Mind you this is during prom season too!!! Price was great, service was good. One star deduction due to the limo had some used glasses in it from the night before? No worries, were a bunch of dudes that made more of a mess anyways! I have been using A Cut Above Limo since December of 2010 every month for my events that I throw. GREAT PRICES and GREAT SERVICE. It is hard not to choose them. I've used every vehicle they have to offer, and by far their best one is their 20-26 passenger bus. A mobile club that will take you anywhere you need to go. Has state of the art LED lighting, a stripper pole right in the middle, and a sound system to really enhance the excitement of the night to come! A disappointing experience... What I did not like: 1. I held the reservation with a credit card but elected to pay cash. I was asked to pay upfront. What is my guarantee that the driver will stick around when we are ready to leave? 2. I cooperated with the request to pay cash upfront. I counted each $100 and then handed it to the driver until we reached the agreed price. I asked if all was good and he agreed. 30 minutes after getting into the club, I get a call from the driver and then the owner of the company complaining that I shorted the driver some cash. Why wasn't I confronted immediately after I handed over the cash? Why am I getting calls inside the club? Let me remind you they have my credit card number. I also don't believe I shorted the driver. To the company's credit the driver was on time and all worked out. However, I'm highly unimpressed with the company policy and customer service from the driver and the owner. We had the pleasure to use a limo from A Cut Above Limo today for my sister's bridal party get-together in Napa and I must say that the service that was provided was BEYOND EXCELLENT!!! BOOKING AND MATT: Matt was recommended to me by an acquaintance who had used their service before. He's very responsive and he gave me such a good price for a 10 passenger limo. I've called other companies for competitive pricing but I got the best price from Matt. He gave me a quote back in May and I didn't book until July but he still gave me the same quote when I called. He so easy to talk to, he answers his phone all the time which made it easier when I have questions for him prior to the event. LIMO: Limo was nice and clean. It was stocked with water and some soda. Plenty of room in the trunk to put all our bags, cooler for our picnic. DAY OF EVENT & OUR DRIVER, GREG: Greg was our driver today. Our pick-up time was at 9 AM. He arrived on time and helped us with all the stuff that we have to put in the car. He noted my itinerary and wrote down all the details of the trip. He even asked us if we want to stop anywhere on the way to Napa. He was always there to open the door for us and even offered a hand whenever we get out of the limo. We originally wanted to do a picnic lunch at V. Sattui but we had a change of plan and he drove us to a nearby park to have our picnic instead. He was always on time when I call him that we're ready to move on to our next itinerary. Overall, he was such a GREAT guy! Really GREAT! The whole experience with A Cut Above Limo was exceptional. They really are "A cut above". My big sister passed away last week and we were in need of a limo last minute for her funeral services. Matt was prompt in returning my call and was very compassionate, professional and understanding of our circumstances. Matt gave us his word that he will be able to secure a limo for my sister's funeral which was a huge relief. Joe was our limo driver. He was early for pickup which was nice. We were able to pay our last respects and take our time at the mortuary. We also made it to the church on time for the mass service. After mass, Joe had the limo already setup behind the hurst for the funeral procession. Everything went very smooth. I couldn't have asked for better service. Definitely top notch! This review is based on TWO different occasions, one for my 21st birthday and the other, a month later, for my sister's bachelorette party. Matt and his staff are professional from the first email/phone call to the last. They were able to give us recommendations on clubs to go to depending on what kind of music and atmosphere we were looking for. Both drivers were on time and friendly, not only meeting, but exceeding our expectations. Why haven't I heard of them before?! I rented the 14 passenger excursion last night for my boyfriends birthday party from the east bay to sf. Our driver showed up 20 minutes early in a nice dress shirt and slacks (I think his name was willie) and he was so nice and accommodating. He waited for us while my whole group arrived and made sure we knew how to work the iPod music adapter, lights, and air before we boarded the limo. He dropped us off in sf and hung out around the corner while we bar hopped. When we were ready to go to a new place, I would just call him and he was there in less than 5 minutes....pretty impressive when your driving a stretch SUV limo in crazy sf traffic. He got us where we needed to go very quickly with no questions asked or directions needed. A few months before our wedding, we had been looking for a limo service that could drive our entourage of 14 (!) around for a few hours. Most services seemed fairly basic and limo suv's were outrageous in cost. But in the end, A Cut Above Limo found us. I had a great experience with cut above for my wedding ceremony. We had the limo bus pick up my husband and I with the entire wedding party (about 18 people total) after our ceremony in the golden gate park. We drove around the city drinking champagne, listening to our playlist, and stopping at various places around SF for wedding party pictures. Great service, great bus, great day.
