I've been to this deli multiple times over the years, and never left disappointed. The food is good, and counter service is fast and efficient. Awesome deli right in The Marketplace section of the Tropicana. Reminds me of the way delis used to be where there a glass counter and you can see the cold cuts and what not thru the glass. Here they have some sandwiches displayed and their dessert options. They are open early and stay open late as well. Awesome menu with all kinds of choices for sandwiches and breakfast sandwiches as well. The prices are great and the portions are normal ha. They don't over do it and the Rueben was delicious. It's a grab and go place but you can also grab a tray and there are tables and chairs. I usually end up getting something from this deli at some point . read more

It was not the best wrap I've had, but based on the picture you can tell they load it up. Most importantly, you can't beat the price when in AC on the boardwalk! First time in the area and looking forward to the legendary Taylor porkroll/ham. Ordered breakfast sandwiches on a toasted roll. We received a microwaved sandwich which did not even warrant the calories. They both made their way swiftly into the garbage. Horrible! Redemption came for Taylor ham when purchased at a local grocery store along with homemade Italian Kaiser rolls. The homemade variety proved the tastiness of Taylor Ham. They were great. I've visited A Dam Good Deli in the Tropicana food court in Atlantic City, NJ, three times over the year hoping for a decent experience, but each visit has been consistently terrible. The sandwiches, touted as "overstuffed" on their website, were anything but--my roast beef and turkey orders came with just two thin slices of meat, a single slice of cheese, and minimal toppings, despite requesting extras like mayo and tomato. The bread was often stale, and on one occasion, my breakfast sandwich was microwaved, resulting in a soggy, unappetizing mess. Maybe I'm biased having grown up with great subs in NJ & NY though I have to believe anyone with a mouth would find this horrid. The prices, around $12 - $15 per sandwich feel like a rip-off for the skimpy portions and low quality meat and cheese. I'm pretty sure they serve better sandwiches in prison. I wanted to like this since its conveniently located in the Tropicana and open late but after three horrid experiences, I can't recommend it. Out of convenience we stopped by this deli twice during our stay at the Tropicana. First time we got sandwiches I had the Italian hero very good sandwich, great tasting soft bread I had asked for the sandwich with no onions they didn't listen & it had tons kinda sucked a bit but in the end didn't annoy me as much since I just took them off .. the sandwich itself was saved because it was very good. Next time I had a breakfast sandwich kept it simple with the sausage , egg & cheese on a roll it was pretty good. Only complain here is that they take forever to prepare the sandwiches both times noticed only one guy making them, this make the service pretty slow. The girl behind the counter who thought it was a good idea to be on her cell phone while people were waiting in line have their order taken is no longer there. Service is now at a reasonable pace. A dam good disappointment. One Saturday afternoon after a night of heavy drinking. I found myself strolling along the AC Boardwalk looking for something to ease the aches. Nothing on the boardwalk itself was open so I decided to make my way to the Tropicana. Inside, there was an area with a small food court. I decided I was in the mood for a breakfast sandwich, and they said they were serving breakfast. I got myself a Taylor Ham, egg, and cheese on a bagel. My first mistake was forgetting I was in south Jersey, and the bagels are nothing like up here in north Jersey/NYC. I don't know how to describe it, but it wasn't a bagel. There was only one slice of Taylor ham, and the eggs were rubbery. Giving them three stars because the service was quick and the ladies behind the counter were very friendly, but I'd at least recommend getting something other than breakfast. read more

Came to this spot a couple of times while staying at Tropicana. They have a pretty standard sandwich selection. I went with an italian sandwich first time, their bread and ingredients are incredibly fresh and the sandwiches are not lacking in size, took longer than expected for them to finish making it. Second time around was for breakfast, had a regular bacon, egg and cheese, again very good. But man they take forever to make a sandwich! It took them almost 20 minutes to make 3 breakfast sandwiches. It should never take as much time to make a sandwich, as it does to order an entree at a sit down restaurant. They had a decent bagel, lox and cream cheese deal. For $7 it came with a free small coffee. They had a selection of bagel types and toasted it. It was decent. The coffee selection was plan coffee and it was okay. We got a $2 coupon for a sub, so we returned for lunch. If we had been wiser, we would have paid separately and gotten two coupons. For lunch I got an Italian sub with the works. It tasted good. I can't really complain. And, the price was right at $7, before the coupon was applied. I was at Tropicana casino with my friends and came across this place but did not try the food-why? I tried ordering TWICE this morning and was unable to because of the rude lady (Rose) who was taking orders (well not mine). I was headed to the beach and am also on a special diet and what I wanted to eat was very specific. Easy, but specific. I basically wanted a carb-less sandwich.... some places call them a sub tub. I asked Rose if I could order the club sandwich with no bread. She said , "no- we can't do that." There was no explanation and she even followed it with a condescending "sorry." She then points at one of the pre-made salads and asked if I just wanted that. I had already looked at them and there weren't any that had what I wanted. I didn't see anything else on the menu that caught my interest so I walked away with my friend to see if there was anything else around. I eventually went back to get that pre-made salad since it was a better choice than whatever else was around...When I asked Rose for the salad we talked about, she said "no" and picked up a different salad and showed it to me. It was bizarre but more importantly, she was VERY rude. Anyway, we walked away and found a Starbucks which was great. Starbucks never disappoints . I would avoid this place if Rose is working but if you go up a few flights and across the casino, you can find Planet Rose karaoke bar that is quite delightful if you are looking for a positive and fun "Rose." I particularly like the sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel ($7 and comes with free cup of very hot coffee). This was a favorite. That's why I gave it four stars. It did not get five because of a screwed up order. My wife ordered a roast beef special and a corn beef special. Both were supposed to include cole slaw and Russian dressing. When she brought the sandwiches home, NEITHER one was a "special ." Just a hunk of meat, slice of cheese on a roll. I went back the next day and the only suggestion they had was to give us the slaw and dressing on the side, no sandwiches to put it on. When we received the food the bagels were burnt, the eggs didnt even resemble eggs, and there wasnt any cheese on it! The hoagies or subs whatever you like to call them, are delicious. I always go here when I want one. The service is fast with the exception of 3/29/2017. I wanted to scream on this day because of horrible customer service I got here for the first time ever. I came in at 6:15pm and ordered a tuna sub and didn't get it until ten minutes until seven. The only two people there were talking and just moving slow. This usually doesn't happen here even with two people. I don't know what was bothering these two, but they weren't in a good mood at all. They didn't greet any customers at all or thank the customers when they finally got their food. The Guy making the food messed up multiple orders. I've never seen that here before as they are usually efficient here. The cashier was totally zoned out like she was high or something. I don't argue with people Who make my food because I don't want anything happening to it. When I finally got my food it was forty five minutes later. There was no apologies or anything. I personally know the service here is great. But on this night it was the horrors not just for me but the other people who were there.
