I'm honestly surprised by all the bad reviews? My husband used to work down the street and we would meet here for lunch a lot. I have never had the lunch buffet but have tried many different sushi rolls and sashimi which were all good (comparable to Big Tuna or Zuki in the area). The chicken fried rice and crab rangoons are also favorites. I once came here with my family (party of 5) and we ordered the meal for 4 where you could pick out a bunch of entrees, sides and soup (couldn't find it on the online menu to be more precise). The food was typical chinese carry-out style and was all tasty with huge portions! We had nearly half of everything left even with 5 of us eating a "meal for 4." Make sure to order a smoothie to go before your check comes! The watermelon is seasonal in the summer and amaaaaazing. My husband really likes their boba in his. The staff has always been friendly and the place is clean. The waitresses usually recognize us when we come in and make recommendations. I stopped by on a Friday afternoon around 6pm along with my wife and daughter. There are 3 separate seating areas and there's also seating at the bar and sushi bar. We were seated quickly and our server "Mu" offered drinks and appetizers right away. We took some time going through the extensive menu and settled on some sushi for us along with chicken on a stick for my daughter. The seaweed salad on top of cucumbers was very good (note: this is a love it or hate it thing; may not work for you). For sushi we ordered the Mix Maki for 2 (spicy tuna, kappa and california) and the Golden Dragon. Both were fresh and delightful. The chicken on a stick was cooked right and my daughter enjoyed it with some sweet and sour sauce. The service was superb, the prices right and everything was clean. First of all, the place was filthy. Everything was sticky, and the sauce containers were full of filth and stickiness like they never clean them. As if that wasnt enough of a turn off, be aware they automatically add 18% gratuity to ALL checks. Which essentially explains why the service was so incredibly awful. If you automatically are getting a tip, why give your best service? I'm sorry I tip WELL and was beyond offended by this automatic tip addition. As far as the food, everything was just ok. I was actually surprised with the food here. My coworker comes here often and she brought me here for lunch. They do have some really good lunch specials. 2 maki rolls for $7! They also carry Thai and Chinese dishes. I ordered from the lunch menu: Namasake roll and a spicy tuna roll. Both maki rolls were good. Do NOT EAT at this restaurant!!! They are committing fraud!!! They charged me $95.65 two times for my $68 dinner, and that's after the waitress tried to charge me an additional 11$ gratuity on top of the automatic gratuity I'd already paid. When I tried to resolve the issue the manager told me this happens all the time, and she can't do anything cause their busy and it's the weekend. I'll have to wait 5 days to see what my bank does. Excellent all you can eat sushi menu. Over 40 items (49 items, though the first 5 aren't sushi. But its nice to start with miso soup.). Quality of the food was excellent. Everything was delicious. The rolls could have been tighter, but that's a minor complaint. Service was very attentive. They have so many rolls there was no way I could try them all. Definitely worth the stop. If your a truck driver like me there is plenty of parking. As the restaurant is on the outer edge of the now closed Lincoln Mall. Many stores still nearby, like Target and Wal-Mart. If you're looking for reasonably priced satisfactory sushi in the South Suburbs, make the visit for the quality. The rolls are lovely & there's a large variety. For a group, I would recommend the all you can eat sushi as long as everyone wants sushi. I want to stress that the sushi is quality, and well worth the money, but know you want to pace yourself because you can't take anything home and you may be charged for excess (not an uncommon practice for any restaurant that offers an all you can eat menu). As for service, there was much to be desired. The wait staff was less than attentive although our table appeared to be one of maybe five tables occupied in the restaurant (hibachi was in a different section). The waiter we had seemed to want to encourage us to order everything at once even though we all chose the all you can eat option, and were there well before close. Drinks took a while to arrive. The sake took the longest although it was ordered at the same time as the other beverages. I've also ordered sushi and sashimi for delivery, and I have not been disappointed. The food and the service never disappoint. The only reason why I'm giving them a 4, and not a 5 is because your experience at the hibachi will depend on what color hat your chef has on. If you get a tall red hat guy, you're set. Sit back and enjoy the show. If you get a small black hat, it's not going to be as fun. I brought a friend that had never experienced the hibachi and this time (we've been here many, many times) we got the guy with the black hat. She missed out of the full show. Sit at the sushi bar and order the all you can eat (which is made to order, not buffet style) and eat till your 100% content. My husband and I wanted something good and fresh to eat, so we decided to try A-Fusion based on the menu online and the bright signage that caught our attention. This place was a mistake from the beginning. When we got there we both had to use the restroom before being seated. I told my husband the bathroom was dirty and had water/ pee on the floor, he responded that the mens bathroom was nasty too. Once our chef came and verified the orders everything went downhill. He put steak on a vegetarian plate, put raw salmon on my plate, and forgot to make steak for the other couple. There were 3 couples at the table, 3 people ordered steak but he only made 2, he ended up splitting the steak with a vegetarian, and two others. He forgot to add chicken to chicken fried rice and forgot the shrimp for shrimp fried rice. So he grilled it and placed it on our plates like a side order and said mix it. When he finished he turned the air on instead of the vent for ventilation so our food quickly turned cold. At that point I spoke to the manager who was very apologetic and said that she's told the chef before to not turn on the air but he doesn't listen. My carry out bag and box were dirty as if they were handled with dirty hands, she gave us 30% off but still added the 20% gratuity for the chef. I've been to many hibachi grills, this was by far the worst. I told my friends and anyone else who will listen we won't be back. read more

So I always come here but only get the Chinese because we love their Chinese food and they didn't used to have hibachi. Well today I went and tried the hibachi for lunch and it was really good. I was a little iffy as I was eating my food separately then once all the food was done I mixed it all up and added yum yum sauce to it and it taste great. I also ordered the egg yolk which I was iffy to try because I'm not an egg person but it gave the food a great seasoning to it almost like a seasoned cheese. The atmosphere is very big both dine in and hibachi has plenty of room, and they don't make you wait until a whole table is full to seat and cook for you which I love. Waiters and cooks are very respectful never had any problems with this restaurant I would highly recommend for dine in and hibachi. I also will post pictures as well for everyone to see read more

They expect us to accept any type of food or charges I'd rather go to other restaurants in the south suburbs. And trust me there's a great Asian restaurant in Homewood I prefer and will be my choice next time I want good food! This is my go to place for hibachi! I am so happy I discovered this local gem. The food is always so good and full of flavor. You also get a lot for what you pay for. I usually get steak and chicken hibachi dinner (I believe it's about $28) and I can usually get about 3 meals from that. I've frequented Afusion since 2017 and I have noticed the change in customer base-only Black people patronize this restaurant and we aren't not receiving the best service. I haven't noticed any other race of people who patronize them more, yet the quality of service and food has definitely diminished. My LAST visit was yesterday, and before I could finish my meal, I developed a sour stomach. Not only that, the Asian employees act as though they don't need or want my service. There is this one smug faced Asian woman who stands at the counter with the nastiest disposition- I guess she's running the show. The only issue I notices are; there was no host to help us and other guest at the beginning. I think they use the host as servers and other positions too.
