Given it's proximity to where I live, I've eaten at AJ O'Brady's a few times over the years, both for breakfast and lunch/dinner. For breakfast I've tried the breakfast wrap, which is scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, cheddar cheese, and potatoes in a wrap then covered with your choice of beer cheese, sausage gravy, or salsa (I chose sausage gravy). For lunch/dinner I've had their cheese curds and triple decker club wrap with waffle fries. The meals were two different tales. I didn't care for the breakfast burrito very much. I thought cheese was lacking in the burrito and it was messy not being able to pick it up and eat it like a wrap due to the gravy on top. Given the chance to do it over, I would get the gravy on the side and dunk it into it before taking a bite. Conversely, Iiked the the triple decker club wrap and thought it had a nice balance between the three meats (ham, bacon, turkey), good crunch from the lettuce, and maybe a bit too much mayo, but enough to keep the wrap from being dry. This place is soooo mid. I've had gas station food at 11pm better than this. Ordered steak and eggs for breakfast, and I ordered the steak rare. It was cooked like they dropped it into Death Valley in July, with absolutely no visible pink. My 9 year old cousin (who's an iPad kid) could make better eggs (while watching cocomelon on his iPad) than I had here, and the hash browns were incredibly greasy. Genuinely thought they soaked them in used engine oil from Jiffy Lube (my arteries were screaming at me from all the shitty seed oils) The service was also extremely mid to the point of the very intrusive thought of not tipping ran through my head. The only upside was the food was reasonably priced and the portions were good. However that definitely didn't make up for the lackluster ambiance. If you like mid food, even more mid service, and loud bikers who haven't shaved their beards or obeyed no smoking signs in their lives, this is your place. read more

I go there every 4=weeks for their yummy burger and Bloody Mary . Went there yesterday ( at 4:00 3 people at bar but we ate in the dining room ) and I was super surprised that the Bloody Mary came in a smaller glass and the beer back was warm and flat . Bloody Mary still tasty tho . But super small .Burger which was always great isn't so much anymore . Not as flavorful as last time few times On to the check . Had a Groupon . $15.00 for $30.00 of food . The bartender took off $15.00:. The bartender couldn't figure it out . Gave us only $15.00 off instead of the $30.00 . We stopped here Saturday for a late breakfast. It was our first visit . They are located right next to the river, and have a large parking lot in back. I had the Corned beef hash with scrambled eggs and sourdough toast. My friend had the Biscuits and Gravy, 2 eggs and Hash browns. The biscuits were nice and fluffy. The sausage gravy was thick with a nice bit. You can order hash browns or fried potatoes also. This was a great value at $7. My Corned Beef Hash was also a great value at $12. The portion was quite large. The house coffee they served was very good. I did not get the source. The service was friendly. Neat atmosphere, as this is also a bar. read more

It was quite a lovely Sunday morning where we came here for brunch! Outdoor seating was open and we were able to be seated. The server was very kind and checked on us several times through out the meal. Food were great! We had a corn beef omelet, a bacon sandwich with bacon and sausage, and stuffed French toast, really like the combination here. The roasted potatoes were delicious on the side. Food - 1.5 / ordered Chips and Guinness cheese sauce, Irish Beef Stew, and the Reuben pizza. None of them were great though the Guinness cheese sauce was great the chips were a mess. Only about 5 large chips, the rest were small/crumbs from the bottom of the fry basket. The stew was okay with a good sauce base but too much bread/potato to veggies/beef ratio. The Reuben pizza w/ self-Rising crust just didn't 'pop'. Everything screamed store bought from the canned corned beef, bottled/mushy sauerkraut, and even the cheese base had no Swiss flavor - not to mention there was no caraway/rye seeds/flavor or Russian/thousand island flavoring at all. And it was SUPER salty, so very unbalanced. Service - 3.5 - Ashlyn, our server was great (a full 5 stars - thank you!!), but the food came at odd/different times - so the kitchen needs to pick it up! Ambiance - 2 - a great location and the fireplace was just AWESOME, but the blinking/changing lightbulb (dim 5 mins, then blinding 5 mins) and the two (2) different music channels running AND the sports TV blaring made the background noise chaotic. read more

Hoppin' Irish pub located in the middle of Menomonee Falls and is directly across from the galls itself. The inside of the pub is a bit dark and has dark wooden tables/chairs. Taped to the ceiling are client signed dollar bills, Irish sport decor on the walls, and has tvs with the baseball games on. Their menu has a good selection of burgers and breakfast is served until 1pm. Drink: Guinness. Tasted very smooth, not watery, and is one of the better beers I have had this weekend (at a different pub, the Guinness was so watered down). Dish: Irish Grilled Cheese. The sandwich had spinach and artichoke dip, cheese, and grilled chicken on a sourdough bread, which tasted pretty good. The fries were crispy and very addicting. The bar was quite busy during the visit. All orders were taken at the side of the bar, but took a while because the waitresses took a while to take our order. But, they were very polite and apologized for the delay. Otherwise the food and beer was pretty good. read more

Updating review 12/28: Stopped back into today and had great service and good food. We sat in the bar and the bartender was hustling! Not in the shady way, mind you, but in the run your buns off, kind of way. She was funny, nice, and clearly into her job and customers. My guy had a Rueben and I went with a Patty Melt. No complaints. Both were cooked perfectly- tender and juicy. Very flavorful. It's really a good burger and sandwich. I did happen to notice a lot of people at the bar ordering fish so we may have to try that next. Seemed like it was very popular and everyone was happy. read more

Went here this morning for St. Patty's day brunch. As expected it was fairly busy but did not have to wait for a table. Irish music was playing in the background at just the right level. Our server came over and asked us what we wanted to drink I got an Irish coffee with baileys, my dad got a regular coffee, and my buddy got an Irish coffee with whiskey. My coffee was pretty good and was hot. We ordered breakfast next. I got corned beef and hash with 3 eggs over easy. I haven't gone out for St Patrick's day in probably 10 years or longer. I was really looking forward to some good corned beef. Man was I disappointed! It came out drenched in some kind of a gravy and was extremely salty. The hash was your standard skillet hash browns. I was really looking forward to fresh corned beef mixed in with American style potatoes. My dad and buddy got "breakfast potatoes" which were probably frozen potatoes deep fried and salted and salted like they are trying to attract a deer. Oh and I forgot To mention that our coffee came in paper cups that you'd get from a vending machine and our food was served on plastic ware with plastic utensils. Planned to go here after work with some friends last night and after reading the reviews was worried I proposed the wrong place. Alas, our experience was not a bad one at all! We just happened to be there on trivia night(Wednesdays). There were a few grumpy ladies at the table adjacent to us that did tell us to stop talking at one point(trivia's in the bar it seemed and they wanted to sit in the dining area) non-issue for me... you run into grumpy patrons every now and then, right? Anyway....inside is not much to look at, standard Irish pub. Outside right by the sidewalks they have tables setup, looked like a nice place to sit, along the river and right on Main St. Food: Ordered the Rueben quesadilla and chicken fingers. The chicken fingers were dry and super thin, more like chicken sticks and very, very small portions. The quesadilla however was fantastic! Tons of corn beer and only a little bit of sauerkraut and [of course] when you couple that with waffle fries you've got a great meal! I stopped in one other time on St Patty's Day and we ordered a Rueben and the Irish Nachos-both solid, loved the Irish Nachos, but thought the Rueben was a little light on the CB. **15 August visit** It is so nice to have them up and running during these weird times. Admittedly, I have done 90% takeout over these last 5 months, but that morning after a successful fishing outing at Mill pond, I decided that a bloody and breakfast were called for. I sat at the bar, as it was really quiet (guest wise) inside and the majority of guests were seated outside. Anyway, I was able to catch up with Jessi, the bartender that morning. Last time I spoke with her was just prior to the COVID shutdown, but I was happy to here that she graduated with a double major, good on her! Jessi has always been a joy to chat with and I can see big positive things for her in the future once everything calms down and resembles normalcy. There was quite a storm that day and we ran into the restaurant soaked to the brim and hunger was raging in our stomachs. As we walked through the restaurant, we gazed at the walls which were covered in doo-dads. Dear old Mary's mother started dancing when some guy said "here come the girls". We swiftly ordered chicken tenders, fried pickles, cheese curds, and nachos. The food came decently quick and with pretty good service although it took our waiter ages to bring the us napkins and mayo which we requested. I ordered a custom chicken sandwich - grilled chicken with cheese, fried egg & lettuce on a brioche bun. I also ordered the waffle fries. The chicken was extremely dry, over cooked... I tossed the chicken, turning my sandwich into a fried egg sandwich with cheese. If I wanted an egg sandwich, I would have skipped the order & made my sandwich at home. We stopped in for the live trivia on Sunday. This place was easy to find with the Irish flag out front. Plenty of parking out back behind. We were quickly welcomed and seated at a nice table and found good competition here. We were tied for first at the half and came in last by the end of the game. The food was plenty hot although the portions seem small for the price. No complaints as our server was attentive and bright. The bloody Marys were pretty good. 5.00 each. Bottle beers were 3.00. The announcer came to chit chat with the table after the trivia he reviewed the specials for the week. They have plenty of TVs along the bar and walls. A few of us schlepped up from the flatlands to try A.J. O'Brady's fish fry. A word to the wise is to call ahead for reservations on Friday night, we were glad that we did; the place was totally packed. Although the fish that night was a type that I had never heard of- it was flavorful and fried in a tasty batter (you can also order the fish baked/broiled without batter). It was nice to have a choice of 5 different types of potatoes rather than just your standard fries. Of course the dinner comes with home made cole slaw (it was somewhat on the bland side but seemed freshly made). Overall a great experience and easy on the wallet. My only complaint was the people at the table next to us had 2 out of control pre-schoolers which was not fun to listen to them screaming during most of our dinner. This was totally not the fault of the establishment; by and large children that age don't want to endure sit-down dining. Not sure why certain parents don't "get it"? read more

The service was nonexistent , I asked three times to please turn down the blaring music to no effect. They should have the chef sample all their menu items before serving them to the public. 1/4/20 Fact 1. I was feeling the effects of the Main Mill martini. Fact 2. I've previously walked next door with my drink without issue. During warmer weather and street parties many people take their drinks outside. I've seen bartenders borrow open bottles of alcohol between theses two bars. Fact 3. These are related restaurants and Bruce having three working individuals from Main Mill enter AJs to kick me out infront of other customers was unprofessional and very rude. If Bruce felt I should be kicked out, and it was verified this came fom Bruce, he could have asked Meg from AJs to do it discreetly not send a tag team of men from the Main Mill. If you truly believe a regular customer (who is feeling the effects of the alcohol you served) has wronged you, there is a better way to handle the situation rather than initiating a scene in public - which has than brought us here online and ended our relationship as customer/business. It's ended so let it go. 1/5/20: Since you responded - *You're not sure who I am? I've been a regular customer of AJs and Main Mill for years. * The banning is because this is a consistent issue? Good atmosphere, great food selection, the food was good and the fireplace comfy but the service was the worst I've ever had. Granted it was Trivia night and the place started to fill up, but even prior to that when we arrived, the waitress (Stephanie S) made us feel like we were a nuisance. A cursory "how is everything" followed closely by presentation of our bill. When we said we'd be staying for Trivia she said that was great but then didn't check back on us for over 30 minutes and by then we decided against purchasing anything more. If we go back we'd sit at the bar and hope for more attentive service. read more

I went to this place maybe 2 months ago because we (Billy Bob Joe, Cool Mom, and Cool Mom Lev) were in the area and it was lunch time. We were in the mood for some fried goods, so we ordered cheese curds, nachos, chicken tenders, and fried pickles to share. Nothing was AMAZING, but it wasn't complete trash either. My mother asked for mayonnaise and napkins, and the waitress took so long to bring it. It wasn't even busy. In my opinion the chicken tenders tasted like they weren't seasoned and were kinda gross, but I guess I survived. Nachos were decent. Overall, I would probably go back if I was hungry and in the area, but it's not my first choice as a restaurant. read more

Covid update: ajs is open for dine in, outdoor dine in, pick up, etc. today there is live music outside. The food is still great, and the Ruben here is the best! This place remains solid every time. A J O'Brady's has been around in the area for as long as I can remember. We would frequent here when we wanted some good Irish style food. Admittedly it had been a while so I decided to meet a friend for lunch here. We got there around 11:30 and it was pretty quiet so we got seated right away. Service was quick and friendly. Sometimes when it's slower, servers tend to be real laxed in their service but not here. Not sure if we hit a daily lunch special or not but the $6.00 Reubens with fries is a great deal, especially given that everything was pretty darn tasty. Anytime I am craving a Reuben, this will be my go to lunch spot. Don't sleep on this place, you may be missing something awesome. read more

Worst pizza I have ever had. It was just a cheese pizza for my daughter. It was undercooked and took over an hour to come out of the kitchen. Could not even eat more than a bite. It was so weird, it tasted like pure smoke. Never had a pizza like this before, hopefully never will again. They were understaffed and we felt sorry for the waitress, so we didn't complain. Just paid and threw the leftover pizza away when we got home. Do not order pizza from here. read more

5th stop on the Lent 2012 tour takes me to AJ O'Brady's. It has plenty of parking on the street, in their own lot behind the establishment, and then the town lot. 1/2 the establishment is taken up by the bar and the other half the restaurant. There are a few tables in the bar area. One whole side is filled with big screen TVs which would make watching any sporting event a pleasure. They also have a countdown clock that tells you how many days are left till the next St. Patty's Day. We had to wait about 50 minutes for a table since the restaurant area is not the largest and there were a lot of people wanting the fish fry. It only raised my expectations. While waiting, the bartenders were attentive and made sure we got what we needed while waiting. But while waiting I notice the hostess not doing her job. She was good at taking names and handing out the little buzzer machines. She wasn't very good at getting someone to clear the tables, set the tables, and then seating people who have been waiting 30 minutes at minimum to those tables. It was painful to watch the hostess see how many highlighters she could put together rather than trying to do her job well in a busy establishment. When we finally did get our table, I was extremely hungry and was expecting a good fish fry from how many people decided to wait to eat. They offer 3 offerings for the Fish Fry. Option 1 is the AYCE Basa (all you can eat) for $9.99. Option 2 is a Beer Battered Cod for $11.99. Option 3 is Lake Perch for $14.99. With each option you get your choice of potato (fries, waffle fries, or potato pancakes, or chips), cole slaw and bread. In addition to options 2 & 3, you get your choice of soup or salad. I got the AYCE Basa and my wife got the Cod. The cole slaw was bland and seemed to come out of ready made for restaurant containers. As in par with most restaurants, some of the waffles fries were cook and some were raw - don't know why this happens. The bread was not rye bread, just your basic pre-bought roll - not fresh or hot. My wife did say the clam chowder was very good. The Basa although fresh and served hot was overcooked, dry, and bland. I was hoping with every time I asked for more fish, it would get better it did not. Also when you ask for more fish they only bring you one extra piece - I am used to receiving at least two with AYCEs. I probably used more tartar sauce than I normally do just to get some taste. My wife's cod did not seem fresh it seem like cooked frozen cod. I only say this because it came in squares and the only places I have seen that is when it was frozen. My wife was not impressed and I was not either when she let me taste it. Overall the service was great with the exception of the hostess and the Fish Fry was highly disappointing to say the least. If you are in Menomonee Falls you are better off going to the Schwabenhof for Fish Fry. I might be back to try some of the other items on the menu but on Fridays I'd rather go to Mickey D's and get a Filet-O-Fish sandwich. For the AYCE Basa, I'd give it 2 out of 5 stars For the Cod, I'd give it 1 out of 5 stars. read more
