Loved this mid-afternoon lunch after big bike exploration of Tybee. Because a huge thunderstorm blew in, we stayed for an extra stretch at the bar and watched Roland Garos tennis. Cool porch with fun lights and vibe. Rastafarian manatee out front. Great fish taco and especially superb warm asparagus with blue crab meat salad. Our table server was great. A big rainstorm blew in so we had a round at the bar watching the French open tennis. The two bartenders were nice, and one helped analyze weather radar so we could know when it was safe to bike a few miles back to hotel. Lightning had been big with sheets of rain! I really cannot comment much because they were just opening up and my brother did not want to wait for them to open. I wanted a drink. Pretty decent food by the beach. the fried shrimp is really good, as is the fried fish - and their sweet potato fries are so good! I think the atmosphere makes this place even more fun. Very beachy. The prices are t bad for what you get, and there's an extensive drink menu. they always look slammed during the summer, so we don't really go during high season. If you're able to snag a table, this is a great place with great service. I will say that as far as Caribbean food goes, this place is not it. The fried seafood is as close as you'll get to Caribbean food. I saw someone get the jerk chicken and it looked nothing like was jerk chicken should look like. read more

Perfect place to spend an evening after a day in the sun! Great atmosphere. It feels like you've stepped into a beach movie. The fish bites are delicious. I wound up getting them as an appetizer for the table and then also for my meal. They are well seasoned, full of flavor and arrived fresh out of the fryer. Their accompanying sauce is a 10/10. En route to St Simons Island but wanted to partake in a fun lunch Oceanside. Super fun place with an open air bar and staff was very friendly. I ordered a margarita-which was so fresh and I had the soft shell crab sandwich special. I have never had a soft shell crab before and I really enjoyed it! It was whole and was lightly breaded and fried. The sweet potato fries had a nice honey drizzled over them. This was a great stop as it was across the street from the beach access. North Beach Grill has been a staple for so many years in the Savannah Tybee Island area. We went last night and I had the citrus shrimp salad.. my husband had the brisket, burger and sweet potato fries. I don't remember what my two friends had but everybody raved about how good it was for dessert. We have the white chocolate key lime pie and the praline cheesecake. They're both really good but that praline cheesecake is next level good! I didn't take a lot of photos, but our service was amazing and Desmond is the best manager around (& he's the one who recommended the praline cheesecake)! If you need a quick bite in the area, it's an okay spot, but otherwise not really that great. It was extremely hot, had no AC, and was crowded, and the whole time, my table was swarmed by flies, which just overall made it an uncomfortable experience. The food was also okay. The fried shrimp basket was good, but the burger we good was not evenly cooked and was overcooked in most places. The sweet potato fries and regular fries were good. For some odd reason, when searching for a black owned restaurant, this restaurant popped up first for Tybee Island. We visited the restaurant after leaving the beach. Our hostess was not very welcoming and provided very curt responses after we asked questions about the food when ordering. The only time I saw her smile is when we were leaving unfortunately. The food was okay. Not as hot as I would have preferred. We sat out on the deck and the bugs were awful. I cannot comment on the drinks because we didn't attempt to order any. read more

We had a lovely day at the beach, but at around 2, we were done. Feeling a bit gnoshy and wanting a cocktail or two, our friends told us this place was a great spot. Our friends were not wrong! This little beachside gem was perfect! Cocktails for four of us in under 5 minutes, and food in less than 20! The vibe was great! Reggae music playing, a gentle breeze, and wonderful smells of all the great food coming out of the kitchen! Because of the in between time of lunch and dinner, the hubby and I got the fish bites appetizer and a side of slaw. Both were really good. Our friends got a cheeseburger, and the other got shrimp tacos. Both of them raved about their choices too. This is definitely a place that locals patronize. Everything was great. We happened to get decent weather while in Tybee late season so we took advantage by stepping out to an outdoor bar. We had a few drinks and ordered some food while just enjoying the Oceanside. The Jerk Chicken was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. It came off the bone with little to no effort and was a good sized portion. The ropa vieja was amazing. In truth it is the first Ropa Vieja I have ever had so it didn't have a lot of competition. It was super flavorful in each bite and had the right amount of heat on the back end. The drinks were generous, service was quick, and the menu has a little of everything so even the pickiest of eaters should be able to find something to eat. All in, this was one of many good choices we made in Tybee and I would recommend it to anyone. read more

We were there on March 15, so naturally, I ordered a Ceasar salad with grilled chicken. It was a good meal. The dressing was flavorful, but very heavy on the garlic. The iced tea was strong (overbrewed Southern style). My girlfriend had their chicken tortilla salad, which was also tasty to her. (It had a lot of cumin, which is not good to me.) Still, the service was good (and fast once we got our table), and the ambiance is fun and beachy. read more

Not great. Caesar salad with chicken was ok, got fries which tasted more like soft potato than a fry if that makes sense. Server was fine, cute inside but very cold on a rainy day though we were next to the heater. Not a bad spot per se, but not good either. I love, love, love this place. I first visited on New Years Day. We had great food and great service. I had really wanted a t shirt but there were none in my size. When I got back home to Louisville I reached out through FB. They were nice enough to set aside a shirt for me , which I picked up on my most recent trip to Tybee. It really meant a lot! We stayed for lunch and the food was again...top notch. The asparagus and crab was the star of the show and the bread pudding was amazing as well. Jake was our bartender and he was a doll. The fish served was fresh and well prepared. We sat inside as it was a 7:30 reservation on a Monday night. Very few gluten free options so it was a difficult dinner for the GF person (me). We had a reservation for our party of 13 so I don't understand why a group of 11 that walked up was seated outdoors with a delightful breeze and we were stuck inside a room that was so uncomfortable my 13 month old granddaughter started crying.
