    au poivre, shrimp salad
    Michelle Z.

Really nice spot for sandwiches in Outer Sunset! Vibe felt classy and very chill-- a spot you could sit at for hours and chat with someone or read a book. I tried the au poivre sandwich (roast beef, arugula, apple) and shrimp salad sandwich (shrimp, mayo, tomato, chips, lettuce) and the shrimp salad one was my favorite by far. Both sandwiches were difficult to eat due to their size but very very filling and tasty. I loved how the shrimp salad one had chips inside. The way the ingredients are positioned in the sandwich makes it hard to get a bite with all the ingredients though, so it will get messy. The bread is so good though! They also have salads that look delicious & lots of wine options! Would definitely come back. Outdoor seating was super nice on a sunny day. Service was a bit slow but friendly.

I saw on their Instagram that they had a new turkey club hoagie! I love turkey sandwiches so I and to come to try it. I came for an early dinner on a Friday at about 4:30 and was seated right away. The turkey club was great! Lots of turkey and the perfect ratio of meat, cheese, tomatoes and lettuce. And as always, they use the best ingredients. Love the new addition to the menu!

Amazing spot! We came on a Sunday afternoon and grabbed a table fairly quick. We got a salad, the burrata, and a sandwich to split and everything was so fresh and amazing! The ambiance was so cute, very clean inside. The service was a little weird though, our waiter wasn't the most friendly, I felt like a bother for asking for simple things like the check or another drink...

Sandwiches are solid here! Stuffed with meat and toppings, you won't leave the place without being full. I preferred the Italian over the Roast Pork. Nothing beats a good sandwich and a glass of wine in the city. Staff is friendly.

I came here with a friend, looking for a nice wine bar in the city. We decided to stop by Palm City Wines in the afternoon. They have plenty of seating indoors and outdoors (pets allowed outdoors). I decided to get a chilled red and my friend got some other type of red. The chilled red was very.. underwhelming. My friend's red also did not impress us. On the menu, it also said if you buy a bottle, they charge a corkage fee, which is a bit odd since it's in house. We did also order a small shareable garlic and cheese dip, which was incredible! After going home and reading some of the reviews of this place, it seems like their food is usually a hit (not much mention about their wines despite being a wine bar...). I'd love to try one of their hoagies next time but might skip on the wine.

This a great neighborhood spot with delicious wines and tasty snacks! Their inside is super cozy but they the outside is the place to be if the weather permits. Our server was very nice and constantly checking in on us! Looking forward to our next visit!

Updating my review to 5 stars because these are seriously some of my favorite sandwiches in the city, and really ever. Also, they are absolutely massive and half is more than enough to fill you up. I've come in a number of times and have tried just about all the hoagies now. My standing favorite is the shrimp salad, I could order this every single time and be thrilled with my decision. The garlic roast pork with broccoli rabe is still a heavy hitter, as is the au poivre. I need to start coming with more people and sharing more so I can eat them all each time! Other non-hoagie favs include the spicy cheese dip and anchovies. The choves are super mild and easy to eat even if it's not your favorite thing, and the cheeses dip is just pretty much perfection. I still don't like getting wine by the bottle here because of the corkage fee on bottles you buy to drink there, but I do occasionally give in if we're in a group. They also have a nice by the glass section and a good selection of canned beers, and a few on draft.

This is a cute sandwich spot in the outer sunset. We came on a Sunday around 1pm. We had to share a table, which kind of sucked. The service was friendly and attentive. The food was pretty on point- we got the little gem salad and a sandwich. I would recommend after a chill day, spending time in the city.

What a hip hoagie shop / wine bar / bottle shop in the Outer Sunset! They opened at the start of the pandemic, so kudos for surviving and pivoting and thriving!!! I've been twice now with a group of 5 or 6, and both times were great. The interior is light and bright with a wine bar, a few window seats and small tables, and a wine wall/bottle shop. The food menu is concise (a few sharable snacks, two salads, five hoagies). Everything is made fresh and so full of unique flavor combos! The hoagies are HUGE. I went for the Roasted Cauliflower. Cauliflower on a sandwich, you may ask? Yes! Highly recommend it (just wish I could add a protein). Roasted Cauliflower Hoagie: Spiced cauliflower, pickled carrots, fried shallots, hot honey, avocado, lemongrass-ginger sauce, cilantro Each of the 5 of us could only eat half of our hoagies. Saved the other half for dinner later that night. If I lived closer I'd visit often, and would enjoy some wine with my hoag! Visit and then venture over to the ocean!

Love this place. Beautiful sandwiches with generous portions. The place is nice but I prefer to eat my sandwiches in my car but wouldn't be opposed to eating inside. Staff is always nice when I do pick ups. The quality of their sandwiches really stands out and is worth the $20ish per sandwich. Good ingredients and good size.

More than just wines, Palm City Wines is a great spot to hangout with your friends and even eat a huge hoagie! Came here with some locals to the Bay after a conference I was in town for and so happy they introduced this spot to us! It was a great way to be on this side of town and grab a bite. Sad I didn't get to try any wines but the sandwich really hit the spot. They have a good amount of tables and seating inside and the floor to ceiling windows offered a ton of lighting for inside. We sat by the door since there was a few of us and our server was super attentive. I ended up getting the shrimp salad hoagie per my friend's recommendation and it didn't disappoint! It had wild shrimp salad, tomato, salt & vinegar potato chips (in the hoagie), and iceberg lettuce. I love a sandwich paired with potato chips so having them inside was genius and added to the texture and taste of the hoagie, itself. Overall, a super cute spot if you're in the area!

Excited to have a wine bar in the outer sunset. Perfect place to meet up with a friend after work and yap. I know they are known for their hoagies but we already had food beforehand. The vibe is cute, staff was friendly. They have a good selection of wine but $15 corkage fee if you wanted to buy a bottle and share. I had the chardonnay which was light and not overly sweet. The boquerones was fresh as well, the bread that accompanied was on drier side though. Parking can be difficult on Irving, I was lucky enough to snag someone leaving 2 streets down. But cute place for locals and the beach is nearby.

WOW! Now this is a sandwich shop. I would argue it's a sandwich shop that happens to have wine and beers. I came in with a couple girlfriends and tried the itailian sub with a local IPA. It was absolutely outstanding. My only complaint is that it was so big I couldnt finish the sub and was headed to airport and now I need to go back just to get another sub, but hang around and get a bottle of wine as well. Super cute inside, and service was great. A big highlight on my trip to the bay.

The Caesar salad was crisp and refreshing. I really enjoyed the panko croutons, and the anchovies added a nice savory flavor without being overly fishy. Unfortunately, I left feeling like the experience simply didn't justify the hype or the price. To start with the positives, the pecan brioche sticky bun was genuinely delicious. At $8 it was hard to justify the price for the size, but the flavor was excellent. The smash potatoes were also very well done, crispy, flavorful, and easily one of the better items we ordered, even if $10 felt steep for the portion. Everything else, however, left us scratching our heads. My in laws ordered the breakfast sandwich, which starts at $17 without the sausage. Adding the sausage brought it to an astonishing $23, and honestly, it was a pretty average breakfast sandwich. We all agreed we could have walked a block over to Devil's Teeth and gotten something larger, more satisfying, and nearly half the price. We also ordered the fried mortadella sandwich, which came in at $18. It tasted fine, but at the end of the day it felt like an expensive deli sandwich that didn't do enough to justify the cost. The biggest disappointment was the Dutch pancake. At $20, we expected something memorable. Instead, it arrived overcooked around the edges while the center was an absolute runny mess. It was easily the weakest dish of the meal. The dining experience itself also felt a bit strange. We were a party of five, and were asked if we'd be willing to share our table in case another group of three came in. I understand restaurants trying to maximize seating, but it made the meal feel less comfortable than we'd hoped. The saving grace of our visit was the staff. Everyone we interacted with was genuinely friendly, accommodating, and welcoming. They were the highlight of the experience and made us feel well taken care of despite our disappointment with the food. I can appreciate that Outerlands has built a loyal following over the years, but after this visit I just don't understand the hype. Between the inconsistent execution and the exceptionally high prices, it's difficult for me to justify coming back when there are so many other fantastic brunch spots in the Sunset offering better value.
