    Epic Breakfast Sandwich
    Cecilia B.

We ordered lattes and the breakfast bagel. Coffee was delicious. Bagel was the perfect meal to start the day; it did not feel too greasy or heavy. Service was super quick. They offer NA beer/wine/cocktails They are dog friendly Not the most comfy seating (no back support) to enjoy a NA bottle but perfect for a quick bite. The chairs near the front did have back support. I would come back.

Grateful for this cafe near Ocean Beach. They offer breakfast and sandwiches, and beverages. It's clearly a neighborhood favorite place with tables and seating in foods and mostly outdoors in their parklet. We had a breakfast sandwich which was pretty good. Just know it is not served with anything on the side. We also had a veggie wrap which was ok but most of the filling was lettuce. The latte was fine. The lavender tea latte which I think was made with earl grey tea was on the sweet side but some of my dining companions who also had it said it was bitter. Otherwise this is a good local place when you want something simple.

I am beyond thrilled that a place like Ocean Beach Cafe exists! It is exactly what the Outer Richmond needed. From the moment I walked in, the owner and the entire staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience feel like visiting a friend's place. The selection of non-alcoholic mocktails and retail bottles is truly exquisite it's rare to see this much variety and quality in one spot. I had the Epic Breakfast Sandwich, and it lived up to the name; it was absolutely incredible and so tasty. I also tried the seasonal Earl Grey Latte, which was delicious and perfectly balanced. I ended up grabbing a bottle of Woody NA sparkling wine to take home. I'm so excited to try it, especially knowing it's sustainably farmed by a winemaker in Healdsburg. This is a must-visit for anyone looking for a premium, intentional NA experience. I can't wait to go back!

4/5 for this place because their roast beef sandwich is the best, I only wish the side condiment was something more than chips or a choice but if chips I wish there were a dip or something. Service is generally good and fast but it's not memorable. I think the place is small but it has equal seating outside. The price is a little steep but maybe it's just SF prices.

Stopped by here after a workout to refuel. Roast beef sandwich: B- The roast beef was quite good, super tender and easy to bite through. The rest of the sandwich components were just alright. Would have liked a different bread and to be toasted. Also they serve it with a side of kettle potato chips. Service was super fast and they have a pretty good selection of drinks.

Ocean Beach cafe is a very cool cafe and NA bar. They have a variety of NA beers/wines, probably the most curated selection of hot sauces I've ever seen to compliment your food, and good vibes. They have ample indoor seating as well as outdoor seating in a parklet. It felt like a relaxing spot. We got the spicy chicken sandwich with chips and I grabbed the garlic parm hot sauce from the communal hot sauce bar to add to the side. The sandwich was solid and very packed! It was pretty big and I actually took half to-go. It is a little pricey but that just might be the economy. I recommend stopping by for food and drinks especially after a beach a day!

We came to Ocean Beach Cafe after walking around the beach. It took a while to place the order because there was a long line. There were only a few tables inside, but outside seating was available. It was a bit hot inside the cafe since it was packed. I ordered the Draft Cold Coffee. The coffee was good and strong. It took a while to receive my order because the staff was busy. Overall, we enjoyed our visit to Ocean Beach Cafe. It has fun vibes and offers good drinks.

This is a great location for breakfast and coffee right next to the beach. The breakfast sandwich was so good and the bread pudding was amazing! There is outdoor patio seating and the line moves pretty quickly.

Late breakfast on a Wednesday with kids in tow. They are donut muffins and we got the Epic Breakfast Sandwich. I ordered mine on gluten free bread, no chef sauce (which might not be gf?) Everything was great. Laid back atmosphere, good service, seating for about 15 inside and more outside.

Stumbled upon Ocean Beach Cafe because we wanted to use the Blackbird app. My friend got an iced matcha latte and I ordered a regular latte. Unfortunately, the app didn't work on the cafe's side, so we weren't able to get our drinks free like it was supposed to. We mentioned it to the staff, but they just said they've been having issues with the app. A little disappointing, especially since we didn't realize until after we got our drinks. As for the drinks--the iced matcha was super sweet, but my iced latte was solid. The real winner though? The Epic Breakfast Bagel Sandwich. WOW. Probably the best breakfast bagel sandwich I've had in a long time. Totally worth coming back just for that alone. The cafe itself is adorable, with a cozy vibe and an amazing location just a short walk from both Ocean Beach and Golden Gate Park. Bonus: they've got a huge selection of different non-alcoholic drinks, which is super unique. Overall, I'd come back for the food, especially that bagel sandwich.

Cute little place, no ocean view, though, as they advertise/allude to on their IG page. We were bummed that there was no actual bar to sit at since it's marketed as SF's "Only NA Bar" and it was a little cluttered inside. BUT, with the critiques out of the way, I'm happy to report that the food was tasty and the drinks were even better! The staff were very friendly, and made the food and drinks right in front of us. Overall, I'll be back, especially since there's not a whole lot of Kava bars around!

There is a nice selection off the main menu for Happy Hour 4-6pm. Providing an opportunity to sample one or more of the menu items as an appetizer. I chose the mussels with garlic bread, as good ones are not found easily. The portion was quite ample, and the sauce I dipped my nice crunchy garlic bread in was very flavorful, warm and delicious. I also tried the plantains which were cooked perfectly; not too mushy with a perfect char, and the sweet onions on top were also tasty. Paired with a very tangy dipping sauce. All the flavors came together well. My husband ordered the Cantina burger which he enjoyed down to the last bite. Our daughter also sampled off the smaller menu with Lomo Empanadas and the Chicharron de Pollo which she reported were both very nicely prepared. Will, our server gave us excellent recommendations which we availed ourselves of. The bill for 4 items plus the burger, a side of rice, and a ginger beer came to just under seventy dollars, which was a reasonable price. I would definitely give the food five stars, and the restaurant four as it's a long and lengthy bar with a few tables for two. The majority of the seating is in the back with two flat screens and an open kitchen. I can imagine how loud this place can get. We went at the perfect time: not a lot of customers so we received excellent individualized service from Will. I would hope to be able to return next time we visit GG Park and sample some more menu items like the Peruvian Paella which sounded very promising.

Quality/Quantity - Got a few Western Reach IPA's; refreshing and good. We also tried/tasted their Dolcita Hazy Drift; it was okay, but I felt the IPA had more flavor. My family brought me here for happy hour; well I chose the place, lol. We just had a late lunch, but did not want to take up a table without ordering food. The restaurant was absolutely PACKED when we arrived, so be prepared for a lively and bustling atmosphere. Despite how busy it was, our server Nancy was fantastic. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. With a restaurant that crowded, it's easy for service to feel rushed or impersonal, but Nancy managed to make our experience feel genuinely welcoming. We ordered the Big GAO Pho, What the Duck, and the lemongrass tofu with rice. The Big GAO Pho definitely lives up to its name. The massive beef rib sitting in the bowl immediately grabs your attention, but thankfully it wasn't just for show. The broth was incredibly rich, savory, and oily in the best possible way. This isn't a light and delicate pho broth. It's bold, hearty, and unapologetically rich. Come hungry! The What the Duck was probably my favorite dish of the evening. The roast duck was incredibly flavorful and rich, but what really elevated the dish were the sliced mangoes and pickled carrots. That little bit of sweetness, acidity, and freshness cut beautifully through the fattiness of the duck and kept the dish from becoming too heavy. Paired with their special rice, every bite had a little something different going on. The lemongrass tofu was another solid dish. The tofu was pleasantly spiced with plenty of aromatic lemongrass flavor, although it was a little heavy on the bell peppers and onions for my preference. Still, it was a tasty option and provided a nice contrast to the much richer meat dishes. Overall, GAO Viet delivers big flavors, creative Vietnamese dishes, and portions that aren't afraid to make a statement. Some of the food definitely leans toward the richer and heavier side, and the packed dining room can get pretty hectic, but neither would stop me from coming back. Between that enormous beef rib, the surprisingly well balanced What the Duck, and Nancy's genuinely wonderful hospitality, GAO Viet earned a solid 4/5 from me. Definitely worth experiencing at least once, and I'd happily return to explore more of the menu.
