I found a piece of chicken in my corn chowder a while back and now I know why. I am not able to eat chicken and this is not ok. Very disappointed. Just saw the staff opening huge cans of Campbell's soup and pouring it into a large pot. Removing the label from the Campbell's soup and fooling your customers is not ok. Sure they add a potato and some corn but seriously charging nine dollars for a bowl of Campbell's canned soup? Shame on you! I hope Granville Island management looks into this. read more

Pre ordered a pie around the holidays. Paid and confirmed what day I needed it for pick up. Showed up on the day agreed upon (even called that morning and spoke to a staff member that confirmed the pie was ready) and they said they didn't have the pie... so either they sold it or they never had it ready to begin with. They offered another type of pie in its place. Better than nothing I guess but it wasn't the pie I ordered which was a special request from my brother. I get that it's buys around the holidays but I went there in person and paid ahead of time to have this pie and I just feel the way it was all handled wasn't very professional. read more

A hearty hot chowder topped with buttery flaky crust on a cold day is very soothing on the soul. Situated inside Granville Island Market, this place serves various chowders and pies. We ordered a salmon chowder and it was served piping hot, with the crust nice and golden brown. The portion wasn't very large and at $11, it definitely wasn't cheap. However, something about having some hot chowder, looking out at the cold sky on a cold Vancouver day makes it a worthwhile experience. In fact, it was something I find myself craving after coming back home. I've tried to make my own version of salmon chowder at home whenever I feel the craving for it. We will probably come back and order a different kind of chowder on our next trip back to Vancouver. read more

I have been trying to order from them for weeks now on door dash, they constantly seem to be closed. I finally got my order through for their sugar pie which I've been desperate to have since my family is original from Quebec - the order was accepted and I was excited. After a long stroll around Granville Island and shopping at the market. It was really nice to sit down and have hot soup with puff pastries. You can tell that their food was good when they were still busy at 2:30pm on a Tuesday afternoon by the number of soup bowls around the cafeteria. You can also tell what kind of soup people buy by the type of bowls. I really wanted to try their clam chowder but they didn't have any available. I settle for their chicken pot pie soup. The soup was very flavourful and the chicken was juicy. It actually comes with a side of spring mix salad with balsamic vinaigrette. The salad was not as exciting or memorable. Had there been a fresh homemade bun or bread stick on the side it would have made more of an impact. Overall, it was delicious soup but definitely pricey at ~$11 for a bowl of soup at the food court. The lemon was a yellow non tasting gelatin. I don't know if it's under new owners but this is not the same place we used to go to and the staff member who served us was less than cordial. Have you ever tried very thin, watery chicken pot pie? If you are interested , this is the place to go. The pot pies look scrumptious but that's all you will get here. After trying almost all of the soups they offer, including salmon and mushroom, I found out how disappointingly thin they are which is unacceptable for cream based soups. I use to come here all the time and I remember we would always get the puff pastry clam chowder. Whenever I had relatives or guests come to Vancouver I'd always bring them here to enjoy a hot bowl of soup and enjoy Granville island. I came here during November and there wasn't alot of people, so I wasn't sure why the quality was so low. As I finished paying I saw a customer bringing back the soup saying it was cold. They cashier then the guy in the back said it's not possible but they would reheat it for her. When we got our soups , (we ordered 3). My husband took his first spoon and said "it's freaking cold inside?" I was hoping that since someone returned their soup, they would've paid more attention to the next time they served the bowl. Then my mom and I tried our soup and to me horror indeed it was penguins were in there. The sad part was not only was it cold , it was tasteless and watered down. You def can get better consistency with canned soup. For the price you pay you expect more even with the mark up of "Granville island". Most likely won't be coming back here or bringing anyone back. read more

A little bakery located inside the Granville island market food court that sells everything from sandwiches to pot pies. I tried the chicken pot pie and the mushroom pot pie and both were very good in flavour though i would have wished they had a bit more chicken and mushroom inside and that the sauce would be a bit thicker. Overall i think its a good option and if they improve those things i am sold with A La Mode since the sauce is delicious. read more

My hubby and I had to try this place...it's very unique as everything they make has the pot pie crust baked on top. We tried the french onion soup which was really good. The broth was not too salty and the cheese melted inside was really great. The pot pie crust replaced the need for croutons/bread in the soup...love the concept! read more

There are a lot of soups and pies to choose from. I picked the chicken pot pie, which was very creamy, and had generous portions of chicken and vegetables. The puff pastry was light and delicious. My boyfriend had a clam chowder which he thought was also made really well. We also shared a shepherd's pie which looks small for two people but the generous portions of minced beef, carrots and mushrooms inside were quite filling in the end. Plus the mashed potatoes on top were YUMMY! The line up does move rather slow, and there's limited seating available, cause no one really wants to sit outside in the freezing cold. But the waterfront view does make up for it, it's beautiful to say the least. Our three items came to around $30 which is not cheap for a lunch for 2, but I do recommend it if you come out to Granville Island to experience everything. read more
