The food is fine--for Americanized Thai. Not the most flavorful but everything tastes clean, and it…read morehits the "we don't feel like cooking tonight" mark. That said, do not be fooled by the spice scale. I'm not convinced there's a spice level beyond mild, no matter what you request. Now, onto the real star of the show: the service. My husband and I have turned dining here into a full-blown game. We place bets on how long it will take for our server to acknowledge us, whether we'll get a greeting or just a silent stare, if he will consider refilling or even giving us a drink, and what level of mild-to-moderate hostility we'll experience that evening. It's honestly become part of the charm. Dinner and a show. To his credit, this server is consistent. In the three years we've lived in Central Oregon, I'm fairly certain he is the only server we've ever seen there. Ever. And his attitude has been consistent. Which raises questions... but also a bit of admiration for his commitment to the bit. All jokes aside, if he hates being a server this much, it might be time for a career pivot. But until then, we'll probably keep coming back--not for the spice, not even really for the food--but to see what kind of performance we're getting that night.

Thai O - Tom Kha Soup with Shrimp - Good! But the mushrooms and onions could've been cooked a little longer.

Sora Sushi is like everything else in Central Oregon. Let me explain…read more I used to live in Las Vegas. When I wanted sushi, there were about 50 top quality sushi places I could go to within five miles of my house. They all had exceptional quality. They all offered all you can eat, with everything freshly prepared to order, for about $30. That is what is referred to as "liquidity". At Sora Sushi, you wait half an hour for a few pieces of nigiri. Everything is wildly overpriced, mediocre quality. But you pay it. Because you're in Central Oregon and that's all there is. Two stars might be a tad harsh, they didn't poison me or anything. But just like everything else here, you pay a mountain tax in quality, price, and service. There are better sushi options around, but to be fair, they are even more overpriced. The problem isn't Sora. Sora is a symptom. Save your money and just eat at home.

I have enjoyed everything I've tried here except for the Chashu Ramen, which wasn't necessarily bad but not good enough that I would order it again. As someone who is new to the world of sushi and has never been much of a seafood eater I have enjoyed and the edamame and potstickers as appetizers and my favorite rolls are the Monster Roll and Dragon Roll. Also if you're not that big into seafood they even have a roll with katsu chicken called the Kelso Roll!
