Last month, I brought my suv to A Quick Tire to fix the motion sensor in the rear right bumper. John replaced a sensor, without removing the bumper to inspect what actually was the issue. He replaced a perfectly good working sensor, WITH TAPE, charged me $720.00, and left me with the same issue I had when I first walked through the door! When I requested reimbursement, he ignored my calls, promised to get back to me and never did , until I physically had to show up at the business for $272.00! When checking over my car before a road trip to Virginia, I noticed a bubble in one of the tires. I was planning to purchase new tires soon but now was forced into it. It's now 5:00 the day after Christmas and the night before the trip. I called a few big box stores and couldn't get in until late the next day. Then I thought of our local business and called. Asked if it was possible to get 4 new tires installed first thing in the morning. I believe the man's name was John. He said he could get my tires there by 8:30 the next morning. I asked if I could wait and he said "Go to Phil's for breakfast and you car will be ready in an hour". That's exactly what I did and we were on the road by 10:00! I went in for Front end Alignment, they did an inspection when I already had an inspection sicker that wasn't even a year old, charge me in full for it and say they do the front-end alignment and give a discount. I go in after the front-end alignment was done and they tried to not give me a discount, then proceeded to only give me $10 off on when they made me pay $50 for something I did not ask for. On top of that the car feels worse than it did before. Seems they have history of scamming people, avoid at all costs. read more

Not once, but TWICE, I brought family members vehicles to A Quick Tire for installation of tires that I had shipped to them by an online distributor. The first time it took them a day to find the tires that had been delivered the day before. The second time I had tires delivered to them for installation. When I received notification that they have been delivered we called this business and scheduled a time to have them installed. Dropped off the car and two days later the tires were still not installed. When my daughter called to inquire whether the car was ready she was told that the tires had only arrived that day when, in fact, they had been delivered two days before. The woman who answered the call was very rude and cut off my daughter when she told them that the tires were delivered earlier than they said. If you want reliable trustworthy service, I would stay away from these guys! It's obvious they did not appreciate our business. read more

I brought my car in for an alignment and for a whining noise.They told me I needed 3 things fixed for $1800. I asked specifically what work would eliminate the noise and they told me two wheel bearings for $900. They "recommended" the other work. I paid $900 for 2 wheel bearings. When I picked up the car, it was still making the same exact noise and they said I still couldn't get the alignment! I brought it to another shop and the problem was a part in the rear end-nothing to do with the bearings or anything Quick Tire suggested and I got the alignment. I'm my case, they recommended work that wasn't related to the problem and charged me $900 for work that didn't solve the problem and was probably unnecessary. The woman at the front desk was SO friendly and helpful! Fourth time I've had a flat on the SAME tire and no other place has been able to accurately determine the cause or been able to fix it. This place was the first place that correctly diagnosed the issue instead of charging me $30 to "fix" the tire only to have to go flat again a few days later. People complaining about wait times need to realize it's a small crew of only 5 staff members, and they do a really great, quick job considering. They didn't have the tire I needed in stock, but ordered it at around 11am, telling us it would arrive around 2pm and to expect the car to be ready by 3pm. At exactly 3:05pm I got a call that the car was all ready! Only $104 for a brand new tire, which I think is very reasonable, especially considering needing a special delivery and labor costs. I have been to Quick Tire for new tires and a break job on separate occasions. The tires I got over a year ago and in Dec had the brakes done. I have always felt they were fair in their pricing. With tires they offered me a couple different options. They had them on in a half day and told me any issues let them know and be sure to come in for free rotations. As for the brakes they came in under other estimates I got. Had them completed in half a day. I ran into the mechanic at the store and he asked how my brakes were holding up? Overall, nice people-everyone I've dealt with, fair pricing, call backs, and local. read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE. Brought tire with drywall screw in it to get taken out and patched. Wrote on slip that it was right rear tire even though it was left rear tire. Told me they patched right rear at front desk because there was screw in that tire as well. Asked to show me where patch was because I knew there was no screw in that tire only to be told that they couldn't because you can't see it cause it's patched from inside. Had them patch the tire that actually had screw in it could immediately see where they had patched it. Pointed out patch and asked to speak with management found out other tire was never patched. Supposedly miscommunication between receptionist and worker. Tire they did patch wouldn't hold air. No longer trusting this business took to Town fair tire to be repaired. Town fair tire tells me whoever patched tire sanded the inside of tire down so much it could no longer be repaired and would need new tire. TERRIBLE SERVICE to say the least. read more

We purchased 2 tires for my daughter's car 4 months ago. Yesterday we found a big bubble in the side of the tire. Brought it back yesterday, they said they would take the tire off and look at it but we needed a new one, not under warranty. Said to come back today at 9am, women behind the desk was rude and acted like she knew nothing about it. Told me to sit and they would do it. They Couldn't get the matching tire till Monday, so THEY called other local tire shops to see if there was someone they could send us to. Believe what you read. THIS PLACE ONLY KNOW HOW TO CHARGE YOU, the repair service terrible. Three attempts to align a front end, still fades into the left lane/ oncoming traffic. It drove better before they touched it and added up charges for $800. $75 charge to mount and balance 2 tires and over 50mph you feel them out of balance. Again, believe what you read, they have earned their ratings by multiple customers and they are constantly BAD. Try another other shop in the area, I am sure you will be happier. read more

Stay way away from this fraudulent place. We moved to RI from CT and chose Quick because they were close to the RI DMV and we needed a safety and emissions inspection. Quicks said they could take us right away. We arrived with a CT safety inspection that passed 400 miles ago. After waiting an hour and a half at slow "Quicks," they failed our inspection because our back brakes were 50% worn. That was Ok in CT, but not for slow "Quicks." They use their location to try to bilk people for unnecessary repairs. Stay far, far away from these fraudsters. read more

Had a flat while running errands in Wakefield so I stopped in here. Retuned to get my car and to my suprise they charged nothing to fix it. While it was simply a loose valve core, they easily could have made a quick buck. Hard to find many places with good character like that in this day and age. I've not reviewed this place before but should have, it's been in Wakefield a long, long time. I don't go here and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I don't like speaking bad about a place of business, even one I wouldn't trust to wash my car. And this place has screwed up every time I've been here. Recently, to make it a fair review and so people will understand I am not trying to knock this place, my Mother took her hybrid to A Quick Tire because her new tire got a hole in it. Thank these lovely Rhode Island potholes. She didn't want to go to Firestone because she was afraid that they would charge her to fix the week old tire. The man at the desk (I assume it was Bill because the employees in the back almost never come out to the counter,) told her that she would have to buy a whole new one, the damage couldn't be fixed after they looked at the tire. Mom ended up taking it back to Firestone where not only did they fix it they did it on the spot but also for free. It's too bad that the bulk of the employees are not trained in fixing cars nor diagnosing correctly problems in automobiles. This town needs some good mechanics. The owner is curt and aloof but the manager is not too short with the customers. I can't say the same about their attitude with other automotive businesses' employees though. Personally I don't put much stock in people who treat the help disrespectfully. Sometimes you are stuck with what you are closet to though. I recommend that if you have to deal with this business that you get a person knowledgable about cars to help advocate for you here. They are certainly not the worst but they are far from the best. I wish I had checked Yelp before dealing with this company. I brought the car in for an inspection. They identified a damaged part that was a safety hazard and needed to be replaced immediately. I declined their offer to quote me a price to fix it. Followed up with a trip to Sears Auto Center in Warwick and the very knowledgable mechanic could not identify the damaged and dangerous part that needed to be replaced immediately. Possibly because no such thing existed. He clearly demonstrated to me how the part in question was in perfectly serviceable condition. This may have been an oversight, a miscommunication or an honest mistake on the part of Quick Tire. To start off my review I would just like to say this is repair shop doesn't even deserve this kind of a rating. My one star review in generous. My original problem was that my car was accumulating water on the inside of my car which I later found out was due to a blockage in my drainage system. This car shop told me that it would be an easy fix. That was a lie. After my car's drainage system was fixed I have told my windshield wiper motor was broken and I had to pay around $300 to replace it. I thought this was interesting due to the fact that my wipers where working perfectly fine before I took it to the shop. After I payed for that and they "fixed" it, I was informed that I would have to take it to the VW dealership to turn the wipers on, which would cost me another $100. Post speaking with VW they had no idea what I was talking about and didn't understand why my wipers were not working. Long story short: This shop had my car for more than FOUR WEEKS and could not figure out how to turn my windshield wipers on. As a result, I took my car to my mechanic in CT and he fixed it in a couple of DAYS. In conclusion, I payed this shop a ton of money to fix something that wasn't broken in the first place and then they couldn't even figure out how to fix it. They have terrible service in regards to not calling me back and updating me on my car and also making me feel like I was an annoyance for wanting my car back after they had it for weeks on end. I would not recommend this shop to my worst enemy. This place is terrible and overall a huge headache. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Knowing I had to be at work at 11 am I showed up at 8:15am thinking 2 hrs and 45 minutes would be more then enough time for an oil change, right? WRONG!! Even the Secretary in the office assured me I'd would be done long before that. Well over TWO HOURS LATER they informed me they couldn't open the hood on a FORD EXPLORER. Two hours of waiting in the store and they had been in the back unable to open the hood the entire time, and didn't think to ask me earlier??!! Needless to say I did not stick around for an oil change and I will never be going back to that store again. DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE! The work they do is fine. However, they are very dishonest when it comes to their business practices. Twice, my wife has taken her vehicle there. Twice she has gotten a quote for services before she brought the vehicle in. Twice, the price she was charged was almost 50% higher than the quote she was given! She had the same service performed each time. Each time, she wanted two run flat tires mounted and balanced with the new tires put on the rear and the older tires from the rear moved to the front. She was very specific when asking for her quote. The first question out of her mouth was asking if they mount run flat tires, as some shops do not. However, when she picked up the vehicle, the woman collecting the "ransom" claimed that the price would be higher because, "they did not know the tires were run flats." That was a bold faced lie as that was they first thing that was discussed when she brought the car in. However, they held her keys and stated, "We'll gladly hold onto your car all day and remove the tires for you and not charge you." She chalked that one up to a miscommunication. Hey, that happens from time to time. Fast forward.....she wants the exact same service. She asks for a quote. She is EXTREMELY specific about what she wants so as to avoid the same miscommunication. She brought the car in. Guess what???? The bill was 50% higher than the quote she was given!!! This time she is told that the quote she was given didn't include moving the old tires from the rear to the front when they installed the new tires. Really? An additional 50%??? My wife is not an idiot. She was very specific when she asked for her quote and even double checked the price they quoted. And the original quote included all taxes. Now, the additional monies charged aren't going to put me into bankruptcy. That's not the point. The point is that they obviously try to take advantage of women thinking that women don't know anything about cars and can be easily mislead. The padding of the bill was intentional and misleading. Nothing annoys me more than getting intentionally ripped off! It's not that easy to find a shop that acts with honesty and integrity these days. And you're not going to find it at Quick tire. There is nothing quick about quick tire. I called because I needed a flat fixed. They did not pick up nor return my call. So I called again 1/2 hour later to see if they are taking appointments, they are still operating pre-covid first come first serve. Then, it took over 2 hours for them to even look at my tire, two people come into the store wearing no face mask. They stood directly in front of a fan ensuring any other customer in the waiting area die attempting to get a flat tire fixed. This has been my 4th visit to quick tire, and never had issue with the quality of their work, but always, very long wait times. It is a shame they are oblivious to world's pandemic, because there business would function better if the followed the rules other businesses implemented. They do not require customers entering the store to wear masks. I won't be back there. And by the way, they say it is first come first serve, someone they knew by first name come after and left before me. read more

All of other previous reviews here are very accurate, minus the ones that compliment this place of "business" I was overcharged, had to bring my vehicle back 3 different times for the same issue and spent far too much money. They seemed annoyed that I would question their greatness and work ethic. Very uninspiring and depressing. The management was impatient and hardly understanding. I've tried a few garages around town over the years but always end up back at A Quick. Cindy owns the business and has fixed problems that other mechanics overlooked and always gives great service. Her manager, Billy, is equally nice. They go out of their way to accommodate. I'm a single Mom & we are usually taken advantage of in the car business. Not here. The service is friendly, the quotes are usually pretty close if not on the mark, the waiting area is clean & comfortable as is the bathroom. The very first time that my now ex went there was in 98..Cindy took a look at the tire in question and said 'Your wife can't drive on that', changed the tire & told him to come back when he had the $$. He wasn't expecting service that day & didn't have his wallet on him. Safety is so important to them that they took a chance on a stranger never returning but wouldn't let that Volvo go with a bad tire. They stand behind everything.
