I got to say that I love that they have cafe de Olla! I'm willing to drive just for it alone (I live half hour away.) It's run by some older Latina ladies that always super nice when I've gone. They sell food there, I haven't tried any of it yet but they sound and look delicious. They have pastries as well. They also sell natural juices which was pretty neat to see. They have some tables inside even though it's kinda tight but their whole backyard there's more tables where you can sit at. The spot is kind of hidden so just make sure you're paying attention to a spot that is painted green with their name on it. They have a parking lot and there's also street parking. Arteaga's is right next to it, just try not to park in their parking lot, just to be considerate.

This place is definitely my new favorite hole in the wall! The service was amazing and super friendly, especially to my little pup that I brought with me. The outdoor seating area is super cute and picture worthy. With food, I have no complaints. The portions are huge, everything tasted amazing, and I 100% plan on coming back and bringing my whole family!

The señora that run this place are very, very nice and the owner was a wonderful gentleman to have a conversation with. The food was so delicious. The menu is pretty good sized. They have some great breakfast offers. As well as luncheon dinner. It's decorated in a Mexican thing with pottery and pots and cups and it makes you feel like you've left the United States and gone to Mexico and in the back area had lots of cactus and different things to make you feel more like you're out of the country. the food was absolutely delicious and fresh and I love the flavors and you can build the layers of flavors of the sauces that you're offered. The Adopt a Pug event was a hit .

OMG These are the moments that I'm so glad I trust Yelp! This place is suuuuper cute, the chilaquiles were absolutely delicious and it was probably the best cafe de olla I've ever had! I came here after the gym and a friend recommended we stop here. When you walk it, it's super unassuming. You order at the counter and the seating is in the back in the patio. It's super cute and the people are so nice. I'll definitely be coming back!

Awesome spot for conchas from Concha Dreams, Cafe Olli, breakfast,lunch and small selection of Mexican wares. Everyone was friendly with a neighborhood gem feel with a Cute outside spot to enjoy and chill. We came for the mini conchas but will return to try more. Parking is challenging but worth it.

World's best coffee!!! My wife took me here this morning and I feel like I haven't had a good cup of coffee in ages !!! It was my lucky day I guess. Everything here is absolutely perfect!! From the decor, to the vibe, right down to the customer service. Mind you I've had coffee in Cost Rica, Italy, and New York!!! The coffee flavor is out of this world and it's HOT which has been pretty hard to find lately. I highly recommend and I definitely can't wait to come back. The clay cups are a nice touch as well. This is hands down one of my favorite cafes to visit. The service is phenomenal. Every member of the staff, including the owner, is warm, welcoming, and friendly. I'm always greeted with smiles, which truly makes the experience even better. It's one of the biggest reasons I return again and again. The ambiance is lovely, with charming Mexican touches that give the space a unique and cozy vibe. The back patio is a hidden gem, with great seating, beautiful plants, and eye-catching art. Every visit here is a pleasure. Parking can be a bit tricky on busy days, but it's absolutely worth the effort. The staff was very welcoming, their menu options are very diverse. The outdoor seating space is lovely I felt at home. The food was really good the Vietnamese coffee was good in my opinion because it wasn't too strong where I'll get jittery.

Friendly and fast service. They were pretty busy when we went for brunch on a weekday. There are food items written on a blackboard as well as a different menu that's printed and available where you order. This caused a delay in ordering because people didn't know about the other menus. My husband had the The Mix sandwich and I had the tuna melt. Both came out HOT and delicious! We didn't like the salmon spinach salad. While it was a huge serving, all it was was a pile of spinach with torn smoked salmon pieces like the one you buy from Costco. The added strawberries didn't make it taste any better. We sat in their pack patio. Be careful with their chairs. Some weren't very sturdy.

new fave spot in hayward, couple blocks from where i lived for a large portion of my childhood. yes yes i know i look white but my mom's side is all lil mexican ladies who love to cook and feed people and i just love coming here and feeling cozy and well fed. everything i've tried has been nothing short of amazing. all the people who work here are so sweet and friendly!

This is a bustling business with many people walking in and out of the store for coffee and/or on their break. I walked in on a rainy day and there was limited indoor seating with two small tables inside but plenty of outdoor seating. I ordered a crepe, cheese ball, and a side of eggs. This came out to about $25 after tip. The strawberry banana crepe was good but very sweet, though I did say yes when they asked if I wanted Nutella. The eggs were cooked over medium as I requested and it was nice they did the side order on the fly, charging $3 for one egg. My least favorite part about the meal was the cheese ball. Although it was warm on the outside, the inside was a little tough and cold. It also was not cheap at about $6 for the small cheese ball and I thought maybe they should have some more price transparency by putting the prices on the case where the pastries are (or at least somewhere). Overall, my experience here was good but I would probably forego the cheese ball. The staff here was very kind and keep the place clean, but please note that the staff mostly spoke to me in Spanish.

Fantastic food, drinks, and decor! For a huge portion of fresh salad that is made to order, I recommend A Romo's Cafe. The Chef's Salad comes with a green dressing that was unlike any other dressing I have tried before, savory and flavorful. The serving portion is huge and could easy serve 2 people, although you might not want to share. The lemonade was refreshing and not your typical lemonade! I didn't ask but it tasted like a little grapefruit and sparkling water was added, which made it 10 times better. There is a small parking lot on the side of the building specifically for A Romo's customers. The patio seating is beautifully decorated with the same Mexican folk art. They have community style seating available and more intimate smaller tables.

Food was very good. We had the crepes, chipotle chicken and cobb salad. Vietnamese ice coffee and Cafe de olla were very good too. Dogs are allowed so we could sit with our dog at the outdoor closed setting. Service was great and staff was super friendly and welcoming. read more

Such a cute small little shop it's definitely kind of hidden to the other businesses around it, but their outdoor patio is so beautiful and such an amazing place to just go and have coffee with your friends or family truly is private quiet and the staff were amazing, super friendly and even gave awesome recommendations. I definitely forward to coming back here. My sandwich was delicious. Everything tasted fresh and super flavorful. I was really pleased with my time here. read more

Wow this place is so cute!! I've driven past this place so many times and finally decided to give it a try. I got the chia pudding and it was so delicious! The fresh fruit on top was so good. I also got the Vietnamese iced coffee and it was such a good coffee. All the workers were so sweet. I got my coffee and food to go but I did notice that they had a patio that looks very cute. Wow, super friendly staff and cute decor. Came across this after wife wanted to try. So glad we did. My wife and I ordered the El Desperdico and Chipotle Sandwich. They were both beautifully toasted and right amount of filling. I would say the Chipotle Sandwich is my favorite since it had great flavor. What made our experience memorable is the friendly staff. They gave us sample of their Chia seed bowl and Cafe de Olia. Man was that Chia seed Bowl good. The favor of the coconut topped with roasted coconut and strawberries was wonderful. I'm sold!! You gotta check this place out and support these unique and wonderful small businesses. We will definitely come back since it's only blocks away where we live. Thanks Romo!! read more

Hands down the best cafe in Hayward. 5/5 for ambiance 5/5 for Service 5/5 for food 4/5 for coffee (sometimes medium and large sizes tend to have milk taste dominating the flavors) Food favorites are chipotle chicken sandwich and avocado toast. read more

Upon passing, this quaint cafe is easy to miss on such a busy street. Good thing there's a small parking lot on the side of the building. When walking in, it feels like you are stopping by a neighbor's house to grab a bite to eat. Inside is small, but there's a couple spots to sit at. The main attraction is definitely the back patio. Welcoming environment that makes you want to stay and either do some work or chat with a friend. I had the Cobb Salad to eat, which was a good portion size and the dressing was tasty. They were out of two items that I wanted to try which was the Limonada and a strawberry and banana crepe. I opted for the Nutella toast instead and their green juice. I think I would pass on those items next time since it was something I felt that I could easily have at home and for a fraction of the price and the green juice was really warm. Wait time was a little long as I think they had two people working at the time, but they were super friendly and accommodating. read more

What a cute cafe with great "sazon", lovely staff, quite reasonably-priced elevated food. We ordered the avocado toast and an egg Sandwich with sausage. The season was truly on point and you might say, how much seasoning can there be on avocado toast but the simpler the dish the more important the seasoning is. We tried the chia pudding and the cafe de olla and both were delicious. El café de olla was sweet and spiced and just perfect. They have a backyard that is just perfect on a sunny day. read more

Searched for best breakfast near me and found this 5.0 rated spot. When we drove up I was highly doubtful given its hole in the wall appearance. But after trying the Chai Bowl and Kahlo Croissant w/sausage, I was like, hold up, this is delicious! I then ordered the Strawberry Banana Crepe w/Nutella & Whipped Cream and maaaan! Perfect balance of fresh, creamy, subtley sweet, silky, light, a touch tart, and not overpowered by the Nutella. Love love love this spot! Sweet ladies providing wonderful attentive service. I absolutely love this cafe! My parents and I visited this morning and we can not stop talking about how much we loved our experience. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with a genuine sweet greeting. It feels like a loving home atmosphere. The women at the front are genuinely the sweetest! The lovely woman that took our order was so patient and kind. All the staff was genuinely friendly. My parents ordered a cobb salad, crossaint breakfast sandwich, smoothie, and plain hot coffee and they loved everything. I had a plain iced latte and chia pudding. OMG their chia pudding is my new obsession. It was incredible! I'm usually a bit of sweetness in my coffee girly but I didn't add any to my latte and the coffee was incredible as is! The back patio is very comfortable and beautifully decorated. I feel like the prices are definitely fair with great portions. Beautiful experience and I am so excited to come back on the regular. Stopped in for a coffee and breakfast sandwich while I was in the area. The service was superb. All the employees are very attentive and take the time to make sure everyone is satisfied. I ordered a cafe de olla and it was delicious! I also got a sausage breakfast sandwich on a croissant and it was delicious. Such a beautiful establishment too! A hidden Gem! I recommend this place, you must try! Adan was very welcoming and nice when I walked in. The atmosphere felt homie, great art and vibrant atmosphere. He gave me a sample of his signature coffe "cafe de Olla" very good. I ordered Chipotle turkey avocado sandwich it was amazing the bread was soft and fresh. So tasty!!! The Chipotle aioli is really good. Chia seed pudding was out of this world! I was able work out in the patio area and they also have free wifi. I will be a returning customer for sure. Love everything about this place. The people are very friendly, the decor and vibe are awesome, and the food is delicious. Ciabatta is not normally my favorite type of bread, but this was perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Even the cups are awesome. I am very impressed with this place and I highly recommend it to everyone. I specifically came in to order "The Fix" sandwich for a to-go lunch order and though it took a little while to make, the sandwich ended up being 1 of the best sandwiches that I have ever had and I am half-Italian! I could rave about the sandwich quality for a full paragraph! I read a recent post where someone said that they were offered a sample chia pudding - they also offered it to me. I can honestly say that I would normally never order anything like that but it was really, really good. I did not visit the back because I wasn't able to dine-in but it was a beautiful little place that was well decorated with a cool "local shop" vibe. This place will not stay a secret for very long. Absolutely fantastic place and the employees are awesome! read more

From Oakland's flea market to 10 years later, at its first location in Hayward, Romo's Cafe has come a long way! When you first walk up to the spot the front of the cafe isn't much but as soon as you walk in through that front door the ambiance instantly changes. Cozy and a almost homely feeling, you are instantly greeted by the cafe owner, very kind and attentive. Menu has a variety of options from sandwiches, salads to classic brunch eats. But one of the things I was most eager to try was their chia pudding which I heard is their staple item! So delicious with just a touch of agave, coconut milk and topped with granola and fresh berries was the perfect balance of sweetness. I also ordered the avocado toast and veggie sandwich with chipotle aioli, both were served on fresh rustic bread. Both equally as delicious and filling! Pricing for everything was reasonable as well. The food, along with the welcoming/cozy vibe of the location, has won over a new long time customer! (Has a patio for dine-in in the back, super cute and quite, great for brunches with friends! or just a place to enjoy a quick bite) read more

This is now my favorite cafe in the Bay Area. It's beautifully decorated, the owner is kind and talented, and the staff are each very friendly. I had El Tren, lemonada, and a chia/granola/fruit treat. The coffee smelled amazing but it was past my morning coffee time. The sandwich was a creative type of torta from my perspective - delicious and it came with a fresh salad. The lemonade came in a tall glass made of pottery and was perfect. The pasteles at the counter look amazing. The patio in the back is an oasis. Thanks to A. Romo Cafe! read more

After reading all the positive reviews I had to come by Romo's Cafe to check out what all the hype was about. I can say that I was not disappointed. I do have to note that there is very little parking and I had to park at the grocery store across the street and even that was packed. Also, it was busy on a Saturday morning and the food can take a few minutes to come out which is understandable. But I can say that the wait is definitely worth it! The chipotle chicken sandwich was so flavorful and the bread they use is very crunchy and light. I ordered the green smoothie but it's not cold like you would imagine a smoothie to be, but more so like a healthy matcha. The ambiance of the back patio feels very homely like you have been transported to your favorite Tia's backyard. I would definitely come back here again! read more

This was a great coffee date with my girls. The weather was chill and the scenery was calming. Parking was tough since the area is very small. Was looking for a spot to catch up with old friends and this turned out a great spot. We sat outside and they came outside and accommodated with umbrellas for the sun. The food was delicious. I had a buffalo chicken sandwich. Service was fast and friendly. I definitely recommend and will definitely return. They made me feel at home. read more

Laura and her staff are amazing. Great atmosphere, amazing decorations, and really good food. The patio is perfect for a small or large meeting. They have a lot of different pastries, amazing coffee, and tasty sandwiches. Perfect fit for the Cherryland, Hayward neighborhood. This was my first visit to this small business coffee shop. It is located on a busy street but they have a small parking lot of 5 spaces and street parking. We arrived and the owner knew it was my first time so she recommended I'd see the menu as they serve food as well. I ordered an Iced White Chocolate Mocha, the owner advised they offer several milk options so I ordered mine with Oat Milk. For lunch I ordered the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich. They provide an outdoor seating in the back of the coffee shop, it's very spacious and they have canopy's to protect from the heat or winds. While waiting for our food the owner offered a complimentary chia bowl and it was so well prepared. The coffee was great, I prepare my coffee iced so it's always a hit. My sandwich was 10/10 highly recommend the Chicken Chipotle, in the photos you will also see Avocado toast that was really good. There was also a ham and egg sandwich with tomato, all are recommended from my family. Lastly, the staff was so friendly and welcoming. I'd definitely return and support this small business and try something else on the menu to explore options. read more

Making it a bit cramp when you're trying to stand in line, look at what's available, and order at the same time. Parking here is hard to get to as well, the lot is super small and fits only one car at a time. If you happen to land a spot here your best bet is to reverse all the way out because a three point turn will turn into a multipoint turn quickly. My suggestion is to park in the lot in the plaza next door and walk over. As for the baked goods the Spicy Lemongrass Chicken Croissant is phenomenal and the Strawberry Moon is a classic. The flavor profiles here lean Asian with many call backs to flavors such as ube and passionfruit. They also seem to change their menu often too so keep an eye out on the newer items as you visit. In terms of aesthetics of the pastries you can see the love in the folds of each one. The strawberry moon croissant is a good example of this because the amount of ridges in the croissant shows how many times it was folded while making it. That alone is back breaking work and truly a labor of love for something that gets consumed in minutes. Last but not least the staff, we love a good mom and pop shop. The entire family is in on this, from the cashier, baristas, and pastry chef. If you're looking for a AAPI business to support, this is the one to go to. They're kind, diligent, and when a pastry sells out you can always count on them to make more. Disappointment does not run in this family! There is a large assortment of empanadas, from meat options like chorizo and chicken, to vegetarian like corn and onion, to sweet options too like apples. The menu also boasts lots of great drinks including mate tea! Lucky us, the empanadas we ordered weren't in stock so we had to wait ~10 for freshly baked ones. They came out buttery and piping hot, even with little hand-stamped letters on them so you know what you're eating, and it was so delicious. Most are about $5.50 each. Add oregano chimichurri for a bit extra if you want or pair with a tea, but these empanadas really hit the snacky spot. Lots of wooden tables with fresh flowers make Pampas a great space to chat with friends or to sit and do some work. The most standout feature was the friendly and efficient staff who seem to build connections with everybody who walks in the door. Worth a drive to Castro Valley! Romo's Cafe is one of my favorite spots in Hayward. Walking into this cafe feels like stepping into my grandmother's kitchen. The staff at Romo's are always incredibly accommodating and welcoming. The cafe offers a wide variety of delicious homemade food options, and we're never disappointed with our choices. The coffee and smoothie options are excellent complements to any meal. This time, I opted for the chia bowl and a strawberry smoothie, which were perfect for combating the day's heat. The cafe has limited indoor seating but boasts a large outdoor space in the back with plenty of seating. Romo's s adorned with unique and neat decorations that reflect Latin culture, adding a homely feel to the place. I totally didn't expect this laid-back spot to be so charming, with a cute back patio that gave off major Mexico vibes. I almost forgot I was in Hayward by a freeway! I told my partner, "I don't even care if the food's good, this is officially my new favorite place." I ordered the avocado toast and an iced chai, and both were super tasty and hit the spot. The bread? Totally worth breaking my diet for! I also snagged some bacon from my partner's sandwich, and it was amazing. He wanted me to add that the coffee was awesome too, which is saying a lot since he only buys artisan coffee from a local roaster. read more

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the manner in which the server treated my daughter while she was studying and enjoying a cup of coffee. The server made a false accusation against my daughter regarding the use of the shop's Wi-Fi. This assumption was entirely unfounded. Beautiful spot, nice back patio filled with incredible variations of cacti and succulents! the customer service is awesome! The food is soooo good!! Try their toreras, el desperdicio is my fave! and their chia bowl is the best in the state! , then get a coyota.... Their pastries are hella good!!!! Coffee, my fave is the cafe de olla! read more

Great food, nice decor, friendly service. They gave my wife and I some chia pudding for free while we waited for our food. Really would never think this place was this nice inside judging from the outside, but very nice inside and they have an outdoor patio as well. Highly recommend! read more
