The store location is spacious and welcoming when you step in. The place is kept clean and tidy. That is nice. The staff taking your order are friendly to help you take your order. Drinks are made quickly, so no long wait even when the place seems a little busy. I have not tried out their food yet so can't comment on that. But the drinks are good. Price is competitive but not overly marked up so that is a plus! :-)

I'm a bit impatient and do not usually go to crowded restaurants, but I lucked out today because no one was at i-Tea when I just happened to be in the area. Usually i-Tea is packed. Why is the restaurant packed, because so many people love the place. The menu is vast: Meals and drinks. There's no seating to eat. It's all take-out. There are chairs for people waiting on their orders. Free parking. The restaurant is in the small mall with Wells Fargo on the corner, across from Safeway. The restaurant is definitely worth trying. Customer service is excellent. Very friendly.

No tables but we still enjoyed sitting on the bench watching people come through. It's all about CV people-watching!

Having just moved to Castro Valley, we're excited to explore all the local spots within walking distance. i-Tea is only a little over a mile from our house, making it the perfect excuse for an afternoon family walk and I can already tell it'll be a regular stop for us. We originally came for the Fresh Strawberry Lemon Breeze, but they were sold out. No worries though, the staff recommended the Mango Pomelo, and it ended up being a great choice. The kids absolutely loved it and finished every last drop. We also ordered the Popcorn Chicken and Golden Sesame Balls, and both were excellent. The popcorn chicken was crispy, juicy, and came with a surprisingly generous portion. The chopped garlic on top is such a simple touch, but it really takes the flavor up a notch. The golden sesame balls came out hot and fresh with the perfect chewy texture. Friendly service, tasty food, and a convenient location make this an easy recommendation. If you're in Castro Valley and looking for a quick snack or boba run, i-Tea is definitely worth a visit. Looking forward to coming back to finally try that Strawberry Lemon Breeze!

Service was quick and easy. I do wish there was still seating inside, but it looks like they got rid of it after COVID, so it feels more like a grab-and-go spot now. Their popcorn chicken is usually a must-order for me. It's a generous portion, and the batter and seasoning are always good. Usually it comes with more basil and garlic, but this time I barely got any. I also found a small piece of plastic while eating, which was pretty disappointing. I got the guava green tea, which was really refreshing and good. Overall, it was a bit disappointing this time, but I'd probably still come back.

Great drinks here, but the wait can be long, hence 4 stars. Lots of people order online in advance, so if you don't like waiting, that would be a good option. Their boba drinks use real fruits, and they have many different kind of unique flavors, like guava, lychee, mango pomelo, etc, and many toppings option as well. No table seatings inside, just chairs along the wall. They do have a food menu as well, serving snack foods like calamari, popcorn chicken, etc, and entrees like ramen and curry, although you will have to take it to go.

Basil Popcorn Chicken is my go to!

My husband and I like to go to itea for their basil popcorn chicken whenever we want a yummy snack. It's always fried well with a good amount of batter (not too much and not too little), and the chicken itself is juicy and tender. You get quite a bit so it's a hefty snack ;) I do wish that they ask us what spice level we want (or just default to allow the spice to be added on our own), so that we can customize it to our liking or dietary restrictions. We'll just need to remember to request spice level ourselves. Although itea offers lots of food options, it seems like they no longer put out tables but still have benches on the side to sit on. Just something to keep in mind before visiting!

This location is very hidden! Thanks for DoorDash, so I get to know it exists! Wow the drinks are huge for $6.75! The mango drink tasted good and with real mango chunks. The milk tea is on par! Will come again. Ambiance was nice, Christmas tree was nice.

I ordered a Prime Black Tea Kreama but got an ordinary black tea. I believe it's an honest mistake and it should've been easy to resolve. However I already left the store and there's no way for me to contact the store and send the proof online. No customer service link or email, and the website is down. I'm disappointed.

Drink: Fresh Mango Pomelo Sago (10/10) - I adjusted this to 50% sugar since they can only do 100% or 50% for this drink and it seemed like so many sweet things going on so I reduced it since I don't have a huge sweet tooth. It was the right choice because it was still fairly sweet but it was yummy! It felt like a dessert in drink form. I can really taste the coconut milk which I loved for both the flavor and creamy texture. The sago was also really good! It was just a drink filled with lots of toppings, layers, and flavors that combined really well. Service: They work pretty efficiently while it's always so busy. The wait for the drink may take a bit of time to come out but that's because they get so many orders and some people bulk order for their families or friends. Ambiance: It's more of a pick-up and go type of place. There's no tables and there's only seats for you to wait for your order. It's a small store but pretty busy!

Another I-Tea and this one in Castro Valley, Enough parking but so many idiot drivers that can't park here for some reason. The store is pretty wide for a wait area. This location is always busy. The staff are all just for work. No enjoyment to show their customers. This I-Tea is a hit or miss. I love their smoothies and mango drinks. Their drinks never seem to be consistent. Not even sweet, too sweet or not enough ingredients. I like their popcorn chicken as it has dried basil and whole garlic cloves in it but there are times it doesn't have enough spice. They don't even ask the level of spice you want. I still come when I crave and it's close to home. Good luck to all! Haha [118R,2025]

(It was worth the 13 mile drive for me.) With floor to ceiling windows welcoming in the comfort of daylight and warmth of Californian sunshine (thank you A/C), this cafe sits high above Castro Valley overlooking the distant hills and the bay, depending on where you sit. It's in the front space of a church and upon walking in (my third visit), I feel held by the Lord. Strangely, I'm feeling tears well up because this is the exact sort of space I've been needing as I go through some challenging life circumstances. It is peaceful here but it also has a vibrant community energy on a Thursday late morning. This space is welcoming to all of the bay are community and if you didn't know it was a church, you would never know. It's for the whole neighborhood and beyond. There are tall round tables, bar tables, normal round tables, armchairs at tables, long barnhouse style tables. This space was thoughtfully curated to allow for relationships to be grown, work to be done, and quiet time to be experienced. The Americano I had is nice and strong (whoowee... I'm awake now!). They had interesting drink options and some baked goods. Prices were average for the Bay Area. I love that the cafe supports community outreach. From the web, it partners with this church and community programs. It seems to operate around community support and social impact initiatives. I love that they actively support Inclusion & Autism awareness and medical debt relief (WOW!). This is a cafe that is doing it right!

Service just ended so a lot of cars were leaving as we arrived. Don't recommend getting in line right after service because I waited over 30 minutes just to get two drinks. The lavender lemonade was very refreshing and not too sweet. The matcha latte on the other hand tasted watered down, so I could barely taste the matcha, super disappointing. It was a nice and sunny day so we decided to sit outside. The inside was very spacious, but I was overstimulated from all of people talking, especially when I was waiting in line. A good spot to stop by to grab a drink and enjoy the view outside if you're in the area. Glad I meet the time to check this place out.

It's small but cozy and clean. I wanted to try all of the flavors - regular, chili oil scallion, and corn cheese. The regular was the best out of the other two in my opinion since it was simple but the bread could have been crisper even though it was warmed up. The other two flavors were very oily and too heavy. It's in a corner of a very cute gourmet food hall and had a good selection of goods left in mid-afternoon on a weekday. Service is also friendly and prompt. I had to get the kouign amann because I always get one wherever I can, and also picked up a plain croissant, currant scone, and panna cotta. The KA was decent; I would call this one a diet KA because they only put the sugar on one side so it was more like a brulee'd croissant. I also have to admit that, while this shaping is very attractive, the direction of the lamination makes eating this feel like shards in my mouth. However, flavor was excellent. The plain croissant is very plain. It's decent but I've had better. The scone and panna cotta, however, were delightful. Both had lovely soft textures and wonderful creamy flavors. The scone held up for two days and wasn't even a bit stale when I finally had it for breakfast. Highly recommend this tucked-away bakery in the Castro Valley!

Seven Hills Baking Co was my first stop as I haven't had sourdough since childhood. I got their classic sourdough loaf. Even though it wasn't warm anymore it was still amazing. It was quite hard to cut into with a serrated bread knife, which I'm not sure whether that's normal or abnormal for gluten sourdough. However, the inside was lovely and soft. Nice strong sour flavor, spongy dough that was almost moist (not at all dry). I want to note on the gluten free front that seven hills baking co offers a few items which they advertise to be gluten free. Though the ingredients may be gluten free, the items are baked in the same kitchen, the same oven, and then put side by side with the gluten in the display case. Furthermore I don't believe their ingredients are all certified gluten free. Therefore I do not recommend seven hills baking co for anybody with celiac disease. Do not buy your friend with a gluten allergy or celiac these items. There is most certainly cross contact.

I ordered the Caramel Macchiato, and it was easily one of the best I've ever had. Rich espresso, perfectly balanced sweetness, and incredibly smooth. The pastries were just as impressive. Food: I went here twice and every single time I get any of the shwarmas or meat pies, its cold. Not just a little bit, the entire inside and bottom is soggy cold. It tastes good, super light not heavy, but the coldness makes it unappetizing unfortunatly. Additionally, the biscoff cake was super dry for a milk cake, but the taste is still nice. The saffron and caramel cake are nice though, milky, sweet, pairs well with a hot drink. Drink: Dissapointing. Matcha, Chai, Latte, Smoothie, Refresher--I tried them all and was dissapointing. Matcha (latte, mango, and strawberry) tasted insanely water, same with the adani chai--which is something I look forward to at every cafe. I think increasing the milk content in the chai could really improve it. Coffee was also done poorly (iced and hot). Refresher was alright, super sweet but other than that it wasnt bad. The only thing that was the best was the smoothie. The mangorabian tastes like a chocolatey mango lassi, you can't go wrong with a smoothie. Room for improvement on everything. Overall: Very nice elegant cafe that is perfect for hangouts and doing work, the food needs to get warmed up longer to avoid coldness and all the drinks need to be improved to increase the quality of the taste. Looking forward to the change!
