In response to Gail's ill-informed post: Thanks for the response...but as your post proves, the lack in customer service at your shop is amazing. I did not employ any party/event planner so who you claim to have spoken to about my appointment, I would have no clue as I planned my entire wedding on my own. I spoke with you directly on the phone when scheduling the appointment and at no time was there a fee mentioned nor was there anything mentioned about what flavors would be served. Now grant it, I definitely should have asked, but it slipped my mind as I had not seen anything written on the website about any consultation fee. We worked with Lauren at A Simple Cake, for our wedding cake and what a pleasure it was! Lauren herself is lovely, talented and extremely professional. Nothing was a problem working with her. Emails and phone calls promptly responded to, tasting a breeze, and day-of delivery a non-issue! We had a three-tier buttercream, golden yellow cake with tri-berry filling and it was delicious. They have their own buttercream recipe and it definitely tastes that way without the weird grainy, sugary or oily feeling that you get from so many weddings cakes. We didn't want to spend a small fortune on the cake, but obviously wanted something delicious and pretty and A Simple Cake fit the bill perfectly. I recently ordered my wedding cake from this company. I had a surprise wedding so I didn't get in to sample their cakes and assumed by all the reviews that cake was fabulous. WAS I WRONG.....I wanted buttercream frosting which they agreed to....I got cool whip frosting and the cake was dry as can be. I wanted Lemon cake and got lemon pound cake.
