This is a cute small business where they sell pastries, cakes and coffee. You walk in and all the treats really all look delicious. I stoped in to try their coffee. I got a small decaf iced cappuccino. The lady working here was very sweet and made my coffee by hand. This is a great spot to get birthday cakes too and birthday supplies. I will be coming back here to hopefully try out some of their pastries and other kinds of coffee drinks.

We received a strawberry short cake as a gift and wow, we were blown away. It was not a typically sweet cake, which I like. I am not a person that can eat a lot of sweets or sugar. The creme was light and fluffy. There were whole strawberries that enhanced the taste. Highly recommend the strawberry short cake, especially for not too sweet sugar loving people!

Beautiful cake! Even more delicious! Plentiful with extra to send home with family and friends.

The cake I ordered for a Saturday baby shower was excellent! Delivery went seamlessly and the cake was beautiful! It was also delicious - one tier chocolate, one tier vanilla with French cream filling with fresh strawberries. The delivery was on time and the person was very helpful. The cake was plentiful with extra for guests to take home.

Made a special stop based on Yelp ratings and this cute bakery didn't let me down. Usually, fancy looking pastries don't taste as good as they look. But their pastries EAT! Yummmmy! Met and chatted with Maria, the baker herself, and it's quite obvious she bakes with love and passion. Will make this a regular visit when in town!

Beautiful cake. Had a great experience with Maria. She really does put a lot of effort and care into her cake. Your guest will not only be impressed on how beautiful the looks but also on how amazing it tastes.

This storefront is cute with pink awning and a pink outdoor table + chairs to match. It's quite a small store inside, but just enough for two ways of traffic. Their pastries are displayed on a large counter. I stopped by on a weekday afternoon and there was only one other customer before me, so service was fast. NY Cheesecake: Quite a sweet cake with a medium (between light and heavy) texture. The crust on the bottom was a tad more wet than I'd prefer, but it can make for easier eating on-the-go. The cheesecake had a pretty browned top and was a good mid-day snack. It's a bit too much to eat in one serving, so I split it with someone else.

    Buche de Noel and eclairs.

Everything went well. I ordered a Buche de Noel and several eclairs and predictably they were scrumptious. A perfect combination of beauty and carefully crafted delicious! Les Gateaux De Marie turns out exquisitely made desserts!

Great local bakery! We have been waiting for this spot to open and we were not disappointed in what we purchased. We had: - Napoleon - delicious and flaky. - Pistachio & Raspberry Pastry - Star of the show! Delicious. - Lemon Tart - delicious! - Cupcake - So so. I wouldn't buy again. - Mini Eclairs - chocolate and vanilla, both terrific. We will definitely come back!

Beautiful new French Bakery at 82nd Street and First Avenue. Prices are reasonable for fresh baked treats. They specifically make cakes to order. I'm posting many photos of the inside and cute seating outside. No problem with customer service here. The employee was excellent assisting me. They have gluten free coconut cake by the slice. I was dizzy from all the choices. I'm definitely returning. I highly recommend you visit and try a cupcake!! Yummy

Thank you Les Gateaux de Marie for providing exceptional and swift service for my pastry box order. I had a specific color scheme and Omar was so helpful in his suggestions for this beautiful box. I am so glad I found your shop!

    Beautiful birthday cake!!

Marie is an incredibly talented pastry chef and baker! I decided to order a birthday cake from her after enjoying her desserts on multiple occasions and was not disappointed. Marie gave me an even better cake than my reference photo! It was so beautiful and it tasted AMAZING! When does a pretty cake taste nice?! I ordered vanilla cake with crème and raspberry filling btw.

I really wanted to hate this place bc it is expensive. I'm sorry but no small piece of pastry should cost $9+. This was the price range for the French pastries. Having said that, I still ordered a slice of kinder cake ~ $9.50, cupcake ~ $3.50, chocolate croissant ~$3 but only bc it was after 5pm when croissants are 50% off. All items were super delicious! The cupcake looked like you could purchase at a supermarket but it was one of the best cupcakes I have tasted! The chocolate croissant was on par with any good croissant in the city. The star was obviously the star of the show! I'm not comfortable with the price point but if you're willing to shell out $9+ for a French pastry, go for it!

There was a bit of a line, but it moved pretty quickly. I am boring, so I just ordered the plain vanilla cupcake, but it was just perfect. It was fresh and the cake itself was wonderful. We had a big party--everyone was happy, but particularly happy with the cookie dough and red velvet. Definitely worth a visit.

So there is a lot to unpack from my visit to SoHo to pick up a cake from my sister. I woke up at…read more5pm and headed straight here from Queens and chose this place over 4 others close by in the area. I hadn't been here in years so when I pulled up I took a step back to take it all in, the cutesy interior which was clean and not too brightly lit. I checked out the cake prices and flavors and when I was sure of what I wanted I stepped up to the counter and began to take pictures bc there were like 4 attendants and I waited for one to engage with me. A young man did he said are you ready to order I said yes and told him I wanted a strawberry shortcake slice $10 and a Brooklyn black out slice (also $10 and the actual reason I came). When he was boxing I took pictures and thought oh maybe I should switch to the hostess slice (out loud). Another attendant said sure, but then the first one pulled up with the boxes and I was like ok I'll just get a cupcake separate. Why I walk back to the cupcakes to choose and the young man starts helping someone new and I look him in the eye he then rushes over but again starts taking another customer. They were 3 customers in the store in total including me so why he didn't want to provide me service I do not know. But it made me so upset I was like wow am I really gonna spend this much money and this guy is being rude. I had to now get in line behind the 2 other patrons that came in after me. The attendant who rung me up tried to empathize and offered me a free $1 candle- it came from a cup of candle in front of the register and when he placed it on top of the box it rolled onto the counter and I said how many ppl touched that?? It's going in a cake someone is going to eat. I declined the candle, paid and probably will never return. Strawberry shortcake slice was a 6/10 tasted old Hostess cupcake 10/10 I inhaled it no crumbs Brooklyn blackout cake 15/10 moist, thick chocolate perfect. Now I'll tell you right now the birthday cake I got my sister was worth the $25 and change I paid for it. She liked it, I liked it, it made her happy- but the service made me frown I really didn't like it. Total rating 3.5

Okay I was cracking up about my experience here because I literally asked the dumbest question to…read morethe guy working but he was so nice and explained the answer to me until I understood! So fun fact they are now advertising Banana Pudding Hot Chocolate and it is NOT actual hot chocolate but banana pudding made to taste like hot chocolate. Why I got so confused? I don't know! Maybe I have been watching too many videos about Tyra Banks Hot Ice Cream. Either way I appreciate the guys patience and kindness when explaining it to me twice especially because I did not end up ordering that at all (though it sounds interesting) but I did get the regular actual hot chocolate and it was amazing! It tasted like melted marshmallows were in it! Perfect for a cold winter day. In addition we got to the humming bird cake, a cupcake, and the regular banana pudding. My husband had never been here before so you know we had to get the banana pudding, it's their claim to fame. And it is decent. Growing up in North Carolina banana pudding is taken very seriously and is literally at every gathering. Would this be a contender for the cookout? Sure! I have no complaints about. The other baked items were delicious as well. The store is cute unfortunately this location has no indoor seating but plenty of outdoor. It was like negative degrees when we went so we definitely did not sit outside. All and all it's a cute bakery/ sweets shop. There are many locations through out the city. I've been to others and it is consistent. It's definitely not a bad dessert spot to try.

Another employee, Kirk--an older gentleman who looked completely out of place--approached and coughed directly over the slice of cake that had just been cut for me. Yes. Over it. At that moment, I honestly wondered if it was intentional. A young woman nearby immediately caught my reaction and went to the back to replace the slice. She handled the situation professionally and deserves recognition. Unfortunately, the chaos continued. Kirk later made me a hot cocoa, and when I went to drink it, it spilled on me because the lid wasn't secured properly. At that point, I stopped believing in coincidences. And the cake? The German chocolate cake was terrible--dry AF and nothing like the Grand Central location. Not even remotely close. Between the coughing, the spill, and the subpar cake, this visit was uncomfortable, messy, and disappointing. Magnolia should seriously reconsider who they put on the floor and retrain accordingly--because this location is not living up to the brand. But honestly, I believe the 2 guys had to be the owners. While the presentation was 10/10 across the board, the flavors ranged from "nostalgic perfection" to "a bit of a letdown." Devil Dog (The Winner): This was by far my favorite. It was a trip down memory lane, perfectly capturing that nostalgic Hostess chocolate cupcake flavor I loved as a kid. Lemon Raspberry Meringue: Coming in a close second, this cupcake was bright, fruity, and incredibly fresh. It felt light and offered a great balance to the richer flavors in the box. Ube: This cupcake was stunning to look at. However, the flavor didn't quite live up to the exotic profile of a purple yam; it tasted like a traditional vanilla cupcake that just happened to be purple. Great for the aesthetic, but standard in taste. Hummingbird: This was the only real disappointment. I was expecting the signature tropical punch of pineapple, but it lacked that acidity. Instead, it felt more like a simple banana nut muffin with icing on top. Final Verdict: Overall, the experience was positive. The shop clearly has a talent for decor and nostalgia. I'd definitely return for the Devil Dog and the Lemon Raspberry, but I might skip the Hummingbird next time. Last Note: The woman working in the bakery was a bit rude and had an attitude and that alone will make me not com back no matter how good the cupcakes are.

It was just a bit rich, had a soft texture inside, and had a very mild ube flavor with a bit of vanilla. The dessert was decent, but not strong enough of a ube flavor for me to buy it again. Much better was the Brookie I got the first time for $4.50 or so, listed as a blend of their Ooey Gooey Chocolate Chip Cookie Bar and Fudge Brownie. I was happy that the chocolate chip part was dark chocolate, and it wasn't overly sweet. Otherwise, it had a nice mix of textures, with some soft and crunchier parts. I liked it a lot more. The prices here are decent enough, and the quality isn't that bad. It's not a place I would go out of my way to go to, but it's nice to be nearby if I want to pick up a snack or something similar.
