Small shop on UES, saved my butt twice now! I initially contacted them about a red velvet Spongebob Squarepants cake for my sisters 16th birthday, a week before her birthday! They accepted the job giving me a reasonable quote! My sister was so incredibly happy I was able to get her the exact cake she wanted! Few weeks later, my friends and I planned a last minute birthday picnic and an afternoon before I called them panicking. They suggested to take a strawberry shortcake cake they already had made and decorate it. I just said I wanted flowers and sent them a few ideas. They managed my expectations, since the cake was small and fragile. At the same time they EXCEEDED my expectations with the way the cake came out! Super cute! AND THEY ADDED GLITTER. My friends and I were OBSESSED. I told them when my birthday or any party comes around we are exclusively using this cake shop! I love that I can text them! They are attentive and reasonable. The shop is small, but full of lovely cakes, ribbons and candles and more. The employees are all very nice and helpful. Seriously this shop is just such a gem! Attached are some pictures of Spongebob cake my sister requested and the last minute little cake for my friend. I carried it for 2-3hrs to the picnic in Montclair so the top cracked, but it really didn't matter to us. This is a cute small business where they sell pastries, cakes and coffee. You walk in and all the treats really all look delicious. I stoped in to try their coffee. I got a small decaf iced cappuccino. The lady working here was very sweet and made my coffee by hand. This is a great spot to get birthday cakes too and birthday supplies. I will be coming back here to hopefully try out some of their pastries and other kinds of coffee drinks. read more

NY Cheesecake: Quite a sweet cake with a medium (between light and heavy) texture. The crust on the bottom was a tad more wet than I'd prefer, but it can make for easier eating on-the-go. Wow! Everything here is just simply amazing. I went when they first opened a couple of years ago and have been wanting to go back for a while (I don't live in the neighborhood). Finally made it back and there are a lot more selections than last time!! :-) The gluten/dairy free chocolate chip cookies are out of this world. The opera cake is excellent and the blue berry and raspberry tarts are sooo good, from the quality of the fruity to the texture of tart itself (not to hard but not so soft) and the crème inside which is better than any tart I have ever had (and I'm obsessed with tarts). Wow! I can't say enough about this place- it deserves 6 stars. Having said that, I still ordered a slice of kinder cake ~ $9.50, cupcake ~ $3.50, chocolate croissant ~$3 but only bc it was after 5pm when croissants are 50% off. All items were super delicious! The cupcake looked like you could purchase at a supermarket but it was one of the best cupcakes I have tasted! The chocolate croissant was on par with any good croissant in the city. I judge a boulangerie (though this may be less of a boulangerie and more of a cake shop) by its plain croissant and sadly the one I tried was far too doughy and lacked any texture. The croissant was not terrible by any means just not anything I would want to get again. I should have relied upon the namesake of the establishment and tried some sort of cake or cake like pastry instead. With so many other French pastry options in this area hard to see myself going here for viennoiserie , but I'll see if any of the sweeter more decadent items shine. read more

I definitely would have chosen the raspberries if I was told since the cake had no taste of raspberries.
